Stash of Cash
If the desk he'd bought from someone else had fit through the door, Rabbi Noah Muroff wouldn't have had to take it apart. And if he hadn't taken it apart, he probably wouldn't have found a shopping bag inside containing $98,000.
He called up the person who sold him the desk and found out it was her inheritance; she'd forgotten what she did with it. So the money was headed back to its original owner.
We saw this as a good, "what would you do?" moment. Let's say you found a large amount of money in something you'd just bought from someone - could be in a baseball glove, a piece of art, a pair of shoes - what comes next?

I would be shocked first. Then I will try to find the owner of the money and give it to them. If I can't find the owner, I will the police the situation and give them the money.
if i found a stash of cash in my my desk i would cal back the owner to give it back to them.

If I were to find a lot of money somewhere I would want to keep it, but I know it wont be the right thing so I would report it and that will make me feel like I've done something special.
I feel like I would freak out a first, then come to my senses and probably end up doing the same thing Rabbi did. Imagine being the person to lose almost 100,000 dollars, Rabbi did the right thing.

To tell you the truth I would keep the thing I find or at least search for whom the owner is.
If I found a big stash of cash, I would probably return because it is the right thing to do and who knows, it could be someone's life savings.

I think that most people(including me) would call the seller and tell them about the money.
I think that if you found a stash of cash then most people would return it. The reason people keep money that they find is because it isn't worth a lot. If you found anything $1- $20 you would keep it because it is not life changing money but finding over that is a lot of money and the person who lost it would probably want it back. The same thing happened with the homeless person returning the wedding ring, if it costs a lot then it will probably be returned. "To much is too much to keep".

I definitely would return the money to the original owner of the product which I bought. Not doing so would be the same as stealing – owning something I am not rightfully supposed to own.
If i was the person who found the money, I would have called and asked if she had lost anything in the desk because she said she had lost it and forgot where she put it. If she said she had lost money, i would have told her to state the amount. She could have been lying but I think the people were nice to return it instead of keep it for themselves.
If I were them and found the money i would have kept it all for myself,,, i think that they made the wrong choice because the ladie could have never known that is was there. I dont belive in karma, i would have bought a ferrari and a bunch of other stuff all for myself. Im greedy. 🙂
I would either keep the money because I bought the desk therefor giving me the right keep whatever is in it PLUS she/he forgot about it OR take as much as i payed for the desk out of the cash the return it
if this happened to me i would at first freak out and my first thought would be if I'm allowed to keep it. I would eventually return it to it's owner.

I have a good character but I'm also honest and I would have kept the money. It's not uncommon for someone to do that. People do it all the time, maybe it just happens to the people who need it.

i would probably give some money to a charity and give some to my church do help with the Guatemala trip that they do every year and whatever is rest to the people in need in my community.
i would return the money to its rightful owner. you never know how bad they need the money. they could be in a way more difficult situation and truly need it, but no matter the situation.. if you do the right thing and return it, usually something good will come out of it for you.. they could give you a portion of the money for returning it, but you also wouldnt have that guilty concious like you would if you didnt return it.
I would have called the previous owners just like they did and i would have made sure that it was their money and i would have given it back to them. When you know something is not yours return it:)

I would do what Rabbi Noah Muroff did, it's the right thing to to. They might need it for something important and if that was to happen to me I would want them to return it. Honesty is important and therefore everyone should do the right thing.
If I had found a load of cash from something I bought from someone, I would honestly see if the owner really needs it, like if they are wealthy or have a great job, then I would sent it to charity where it is mostly needed.
If i would have found the money i would have asked the owner of the desk how much she had in the desk. If her answer didn't match with the amount i would keep the money.
i would try to return the money but if it was 50 or 100 bucks i might keep it but i wouldn't keep a large some of cash because it is wrong and it could even be involved with illegal activity.

I would give it because i know how it feels to lose an amount of money. Especially because it was her inheritance. To many they would of kept it. Everybody works hard to get that money & to just lose it like paper it's hard. You have to have generosity i every person because it could happen to you at any moment. An you would not like for someone to keep it.
I would return it. If i kept it I would feel extremely guilty and then I couldn't spend a dime. But honestly at first I would want to keep it even though i know it's wrong. I'm pleasantly surprised by the person in this article. He has strong morals that i admire. 🙂
You should take it back to its original owner. They might be so happy that they even give you some of whatever you take back to them. Its a good deed and you get rewarded also.
If i found money i would try to find out whose it is and give it back thats just the type of person i am.
If I found a bunch of money in something I bought, I would try and get it back to its owner, but I wouldn't go to great lengths to do so. I bought the product so therefore I bought everything inside of it.
I think that I would give the money back depending on the amount. If it was a lot of money, $98,000 for example, I would obviously give it back. But if it was just $5 or $10 , I wouldn't give it back because its not a lot of money (something that will be missed greatly)
It depends on what I found it in. I would probably notify the owners if it was a large amount but if it was just a few dollars, the money would soon be in my pocket. On the other hand, if you buy something, don't you own everything in it too?
I would call the seller, but i also think that if you buy something you should get everything you paid for... its the sellers fault for forgeting what they did with their money, even if its a large amount.

I would keep it. Ive found money before all the way up to a 100 dollar bill. I have kept at least a portion of it every time. I am not saying i endorse stealing but this is just a story of one person who is careless falling into rather unlucky circumstances while someone else gets extremely lucky and I feel he should have kept it.

If it was $0-$100 i would keep it, but if it was above $100 I would probably return it, that could be a lot of money to that person and they may need it, so i would ask them if it was there's and give it back.
The right thing to do would be to return the money to the rightful owner, that is what I would do. Unless the money came with whatever I had bought, I would return the money. That money, no matter the amount, could be very important to whoever sold it. Its not my right to keep money given to me by accident.
My mom always says "If you snooze, you lose." However, I don't believe that nonsense, I would do the right thing and return the money to its original owner. That is always the right thing to do.

I would return it. It is the right thing to do. It wouldn't be fair to the seller to keep the money that they accidentally left in something they sold. Mistakes happen and I would want them to do the same for me.
I would return the money to its original owner. Sometimes we make tiny mistakes, accidentally put our belongings somewhere else, and forget about it. If that happened to me, I would be devastated. Besides, even if I did want to take it, I would feel guilty and end up returning it anyway.

Obviously, you need to return it. I hate it when you lose money that ends up really important later, even if it's $1,000,000 or $10. It can catch someone off guard if they lose a big amount of money, and keeping it wouldn't be the right thing to do.
If I found money in a piece of art i would first look through the painting to see if there was a phone number to call back them to tell them that I have their money, even though my consonance is wanting me to keep the money to use it on me and my family members.

I would keep the money because everyone is struggling with money problems and when you find a thousand dollars in a desk your telling me you wouldn't keep it. after all they were the ones who sold it to you.
I would find the owner and try to work with him/her to donate at least half to the homeless, cancer research, children's hospitals, Philippines, war victims and other charities.

I would give it back. I think that everyone should give it back but I know that a lot of people are greedy and would not give it back. There are also still good people out there but a lot of people might not admit that they would take it.
If I found a large amount of money in something I just bought from someone, I'd definitely return the money because for one, you don't know how that person is living or what kind of circumstances they're in and they might really need that money; and two, I know if I lost money like that, I'd want someone to do the same thing for me, It's only right.

It depends on how much it is like if its 5 10 20 dollars id keep. But If its 98,000 dollars id probably do the same thing that dude did.
If I would find the person it belonged to, if they told me to keep it I'd give it to charity or give it to my father so he can afford his surgery. Unless it was stolen, before people do anything with the money I need to make sure it wasn't stolen.
The right thing to do would be to return the money, but if i bought something that was $38 and there was $38 I would give the money back not the thing I bought because that's my money gone.
If I happen to come across a bag full of money I would probably faint from exessive excitement! Wake up and scream "Im rich" but my sensitive heart would be full of guilt knowing its someone elses and i would return the money.

If I found a lot of cash I think I would probably would keep part of the money and give the rest back to the person I bought the item from. But, I would let the person know that since I found the money I get a fee.

I would call the former owner of who i bought the desk from. The owner couldve hid it there and was gonna use it at a later time and forgot about it. If i was to have lost it i would be upset and want someone to give it back to me. So i would give it back amd hope if it was to happen to me i would get the samething in return.

There are several things I would do if I found money in a desk that I bought online. One thing is I would keep the money.If it was as much as they found at $98,000 I would not think twice to keep it. I would use this money for two main reasons. One is to help me with college. Another is to help my mom out with whatever she needs because she always bought me things when I wanted it.

If I found the money, I would save it for college or for gas for later on when start driving. Another way I could use it is to pay my bills for later on. I could use it for shopping but that would only be my "wants" its not a reallly a "need". Another way would be to put it in my bank account and save up on it. If I put much more thought in it I would donate it to the less fortunate or to a charity.
What I Would Do Is First try To Contact The Owner Of The Money Because It's Disprecpectful And A Shame To Keep Something That Doesn't Belong To You. You'll Probably Have A Gulity Concious If You Didn't Return The Money to The Owner. But If It Was That I Couldn't Find The Owner And I Know For A Fact That I Tried To Do All I Could To Contact The Owner And Give Them There Money Back Then Well I Would Donate The Money To Those Young Kids Who Are Sick (St. Jude Hospital) For Example. I Would Do Something That's Right With The Money.

I would give half to the original owner because I did buy the object. It was on the owner for not checking to make sure that they gather all their own personal objects. I would split up the money evenly.

If i found out that the desk I purchased with my money had more than 50,000 i would believe its someone testing your honesty. Also it couldve been stolen money and they are in a way putting the stolen money in your hands. Lots of bad people out there.

Well to begin with, you should never take anything if it is not rightfully yours. It does not matter if it's just a dollar you should always return things. Something good can come out of returning this amount of cash in the future.

You always give money back. No matter how small the amount. Its important to be a good citizen and have lots of integrity. But you have to make sure you give it back to the right person and not someone who just claims its theirs. If its a lot of money you should make sure it gets to the right person.

I would go to the police first (just in case it had to do with criminal activity). If the money was clean, but a small amount, maybe up to a couple hundred dollars, I would keep it. If it were more such as this case in which it was 98k, i would give it back to the owner.
