College Expectations
Some folks hope going to college will help them get a better job down the road. For others, it's all about the "college experience" (however they define that). Some people want to continue learning all they can in a school environment, and for many, it's a combo of these things.
If you're planning to go to college, what do you hope to get out of it? And if you're not planning to go, please tell us your reason(s) why.

When I go to college, I want to learn in classes, but also how to live in the 'real world'

Yeah, but we never know exactly what our future will bring. What we learn at college might not be useful for the first decade but may come in handy later on in life and vice versa.
Okay there is certain limits to getting your team to work harder! Thats going to far. I dont think he needed to get fired! i think a suspension was enough of a punishment-

I would like to to be in sports medicine. My cousin did not go to collage and now he doesn't have a good life.

I think that is to much for a coach to do because what happens when they get hurt.Every coach has their own way of coaching with some its yelling, others it's praying but throwing basketballs at them is not right.
As an international student, learning in the US is tough and it costs a lot. For this reason, I want to learn comprehensively and holistically at school as well as gain certain skills in life. I hope my money will be paid off.
When I go to college I don't want all the years I've been in school to be for a waste. I want to use them in a job that I'll love. Also for me learning is always fun and interesting. I've always found it fun learning cool facts...Been interested in things other students wouldn't be.
I wonder what my experience will be like with the professors piling on work. There are many stories you hear nowadays about kids who don't even sleep anymore because of work. I wonder what my experience will be like and if I could make a change to that. Colleges should learn that it's not all about work, it's what you get out of it.
I hope that when I go to college, there will be many fun classes to take such as music because it is good to listen to people play instruments. I play the piano. MUSIC ROCKS!
When I engage in my middle and high school curriculum, I want to be prepared for basic real world necessities. When I go to college, I hope to get out specific skills that will be needed for for my own life and profession.

I want to get a mentality of trying to find out the truth. There isn't only one answer in our real world, so you must keep thinking, and enlarging and connecting ideas within you.
I would go to college probably to go to a military academy like ATM and be a cadet hoping to join the military. But I would also plan on getting a masters deggree in buisness in hope that i would be the CEO or Director of my family buisness.
When I go to college, I want to learn all that I can, for all that I prepare for. I want to either become a writing teacher, or a doctor. And I don't need to learn every little thing to become a writing teacher.

I am very excited about all the knew experiences and opportunities to learn and excel. As i get older and when sometime beyond college, life will in all likeliness become rather difficult with the many trials of the real world, but i think college will help me to cope with those challenges, to become stronger and ready for anything. Life is not long and I want to use the time i have to its fullest, to be the best i can be, and even succeed in everything i do.

If you want to do music and that is your passion, then do it. If you like doing something, that is just the more likely you will succeed!

Because, let's face it, most of us are probably not going to find a job sitting in a chair with a bunch of other people while we are lectured to. Educational field trips are needed to accomplish this, of course. We need to learn how to handle ourselves, our jobs, others, finances, and more in reality, and we just can't do that in a classroom.

I think that going to college is one of the last phases to preparing for life as a full adult. People go to specific colleges and get majors in what is interesting to them. If a topic is interesting enough for someone to spend a large amount of time and money learning about it, they will probably be interested in it for the rest of their lives. College is essentially training for the next generation's work force. I believe it is important that colleges have courses that are directly translatable to jobs, because people who know what they're doing should be given the chance to do it.

I don't plan to go to college because my family is poor and I don't want them to think that I want t go to college, because they'll feel bad and make me go to college. Since college is so expensive, it'll take up all our money. And I won't even be there to help. Though, I secretly want to go to college. 🙂
While money is an issue, there is a lot of financial aid available if you really want to go to college. I will be attending college next year with almost all of my education being paid for in financial aid. FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), is a great way to get student aid. Also, colleges can be very helpful in helping with college costs through scholarships, work-study, and discounted costs. I hope that if you really want to go to college, that it will work out for you.
I want to be a veterinarian, so i hope to first attend Berry College and finish my animal science studies at Auburn University.

What you should want from college: a good mix of practical and theoretical coursework, classes that make you think, learning that opens pathways to better jobs and a better life, meeting truly dedicated faculty and students in a great learning environment, opportunities to improve social skills, great life experiences that you will treasure for the rest of your life, opportunities to understand others, a chance to make mistakes in a controlled environment, a sense of serious accomplishment, the chance to find a career you love (not just a job),
I plan to go to the US Naval Academy, and join the Navy to be an aviator. The Naval Academy is a great school, and ranks in the top in academics.

I think that going to a college will make a very big difference on my life. If I get a four year degree I will have a great chance at having a good life where I never need to worry about having troubles while getting a job. Most colleges teach us things we will not need in the future. Although it may be helpful I honestly wouldn't want to waste half my education on things that will be no help to me in the future. Colleges do although need to focus on the things we want to achieve instead of lingering on the things we couldn't.

Because I want to be a tattoo artist I don’t need to attend any schooling after I graduate high school because I will be apprenticed instead of going on with school. But, because I will be basically be injecting ink into clients body’s with a needle into form a picture, I believe to improve myself as a body artist I must understand fully what I’m tattooing and how to do the best possible job.
