Change and Social Media

On Friday, we tell you about a student who was so upset about an ingredient in Gatorade that she got an online petition started.  Her goal: to get Gatorade to drop the ingredient and change its formula.

The ingredient is considered safe by the U.S. government, but Gatorade said it was getting rid of it anyway "because we know that some consumers have a negative perception" of it.

All this got us thinking:  Have you ever taken to social media to try to get something changed?  And would you call social media are a good way to cause change - or do you think this was just a rare incident?
