What Are You Thankful For?
With Thanksgiving just over a week away, we've been thinking of all the things we're thankful for (our audience, for one!), and we'd like to hear from you. Β What are you thankful for as the holiday season approaches?

Hi my name is jones and I am tahnkful for god who made kids. Without kids there is no future. I mean every future has more and more new technology right. WIthout kids, adults would be so confused. Us kids help older people. I mean my tells me that they always helps the teachers because, the teachers didn't have technology. So I thank god for all that he did for me.

Cindy, Thanksgiving IS a holiday that is celebrated in America. But it doesn't mean that you can't celebrate it. Do you not live in this country now? If so, I understand why it would be more difficult if people are selling turkeys and stuffing. But that's only true if you feel that Thanksgiving is only Thanksgiving if one has turkey, etc. We can celebrate Thanksgiving at any time of the year. In fact, there are many people for whom "thanks-giving" is a daily action. This is a good thing. It's amazing how one's attitude changes and is more positive when one gives thanks several times a day. Thanks for your comment! π
I'm thankful for my family, they always care about me, and being a great advisor. My friends, they always care about me too and makes me feel better when I feel depressed or upset, and for cnn student news, always making magnificent news. Also, I'm thankful for my teacher, who respects my opinion. I have many things to thank this year π
I really thank and love my friends who are on the other side of the Earth as me. They tell me their thoughts, opinions, worries, and what's going on at school. When I first came to Korea, I thought we wouldn't ever be able to see each other again, but we Skype and still tell each other everything. Something that I am thankful for is my family, because they had raised me to be a better student/person and has put my in the edge at some points and also had disciplined me for/ if I got in trouble so I can face what I did and not to do it anymore. Another reason I am thankful for my family is that they had let me live in a nice place they kept me safe my whole life they had always been there for me when I need them. So that is what I am Thankful for.
There is a lot that goes on everyday that we donβt think is maybe special or important or even something that we donβt really think needs thanks for. Well occasionally we do need to say thanks for those little things, and thatβs why I would like to say thanks to my parents for giving me food, shelter, money, and all the little things they do that they might not think I notice but I do. We should say thanks once in a while for all the things that we receive. There are people out there that are suffering without food, shelter, clothes, or families. There are so many things in my life to be thankful for; I am an extremely blessed and fortunate person. One of the things I am most thankful for though, is my family, I have a great mom and dad, and two pretty cool brothers. I have an amazing extended family as well and some friends who are like family, too. I am thankful to be healthy and have no troubles concerning my health. I am also thankful to have a home, after Sandy hit and I personally knew a displaced family, it made me reevaluate the fact that I have a home to live in. Sandy also made me think about the other necessities that I take for granted, water, food, clothes, electricity, and all the little things. Another thing that I am grateful for is the chance to get an education; I love to learn and canβt imagine what it would be like to be deprived of this opportunity. There are so many other opportunities in my life as well that I am grateful for, the chance to be on a swim team, take dance lessons, and be a Girl Scout, as well as the chance to practice a religion. I am grateful for my church, and everything it gives to me. I am grateful that I live in a nice place, which has great schools, a good library, and plenty of good places to spend time. I am grateful that my Dad has a good job, and that besides my needs I can have so many of my wants fulfilled. I am indefinitely grateful to live in America, one of the worldβs greatest nations. A long time ago we didnβt have medicine and we would die from just a stuffy nose, but as technology gets better and better we are starting to be able to cure diseases such as cancer. When I was in first grade my friend died of cancer. At this moment it would be possible to cure her. I know that as technology will rise each year so will my thankfulness.
