Karen Caifa has an interesting report in Friday's show about politics and social media. In it, she discusses how election season can heat up political discussions on sites like Facebook - and how some people might "unfriend" or hide the posts of those they don't agree with.
We'd like to get your thoughts on this. Do you like hearing the different political opinions of your friends on social media? Do these posts make you mad enough to unfriend someone, would you just hide their posts, or would you just ignore them, hoping they'll go away after the election?

I agree that people have there first amendment right to post what ever political opinion they may have but once it gets to excessive than it may be okay to "unfriend" them.
No you should not unfriend someone just because of politices.Everyone has different opinions and should respect that.
You have the right to shout out your opinion when ever you want and not get punished in some way for doing so.
of couse i do it is very education even though we arent old enough to vote it just politices talk.
why should you care if your friend likes obama and you like romney the election is going to over soon you shouldnt be mad over that.
I agree with you, my friend likes Romney and I like Obama, but we don't even care. I don't think this is diffrent
Well people have different opinions that make them think differently about who they'd vote for. People tend to think that one is better than the other, so if a person they know hates the other while the person is on that persons side then they get furious about it. Things like this can happen all the time on Facebook almost every once in a while.
I think it doesn't matter what friends say about their political opinions. They have special reasons and it would be good to hear the pros and cons of anything political like presidents.
Even though I do not like my friends talking about political stuff I would not unfriend them. I would not because i think that unfriending them is taking it too far.I don't care what my friends have to say about the government. I think caring about what they say political wise is just getting into their business.
People can't just say they'll vote for a certain party because they just don't like the opposing party. Voters should hear each political party's hearing to decide whether or not they'll vote for them.
With me, I enjoy knowing what other peoples opinions about the presidential vote but I know some people that will take it to far and I think that is an issue.
I personally do not like political opinions on social medias, because I think that everyone should keep to themselves about their opinions, and not share their political views on the web. These posts do make me mad enough to unfriend someone, because for example it's like spam. You keep seeing your news feed, being filled with Obama this, and Romney that, while thats not the reason your looking there in the first place. Another example, is my grandmother. On a social network she posted how she felt about both presidents. I hid this post, still keeping my own views in mind. All in all, social media is not the place to talk about your political views.
I dont think race should be judged in College Admissions Race is a big part of the economy we shouldnt disobey it
no i wouldnt delete my friend friend if they made a political comment that i dint agree with because i t is their opinion!
I wouldn't unfriend anyone because of their political beliefs, exept maybe on the topic of abortion, which I have a solid opinion on.
I don’t think that you should hide posts or “unfriend” people over what they say on Facebook or any social media sites, about politics or anything. And that if you should not be hiding things other people say, but I guess you can do anything you want on your page.
I disagree with "unfriending" someone because they made a political statement that someone doesn't like. A real friend would not "unfriend" just because they made a political statement they don't like. A friend would get over it and might talk it out and eventually come to a conclusion with a friend.
I think that you're going to have to get used to seeing those comments. Just because you may unfriend someone or hide their posts doesn't mean that there won't be more, and that definitely doesn't mean they'll stop even after the election is over.
We would just ignore it until it passes. If that's what they believe, We're not going judge.
The eighth amendment gives us the freedom of choice and freedom of opinion. We've got to respect other people's opinions. Unfriending someone just because of their political beliefs just isn't cool.
You should be able to talk about the debates because you have freedom of speech. Even then, you should go to far. If someone posts something you don't agree with, you don't have to get upset. You can just ignore it.
You should be able to talk about the debates because you have freedom of speech. Even then, you shouldn't go to far. If someone you know posts something you don't agree with, you don't have to get upset. You can just ignore it.
I would normally just ignore them so that I don't get distracted on other people's thoughts. However, it could be a good idea to acknowledge their opinion neutrally, so that you can show them that you understand and don't need any more posts, just to be polite.
It's great to know that our friends are proud to share what they think and how they feel about the elections and the candidates, but sometimes it goes a bit over board. They might start posting candidate jokes that may offend people and make them embarrassed of their beliefs. It's kind of like when someone says "don't you hate their shirt?" when under your sweatshirt, is the same shirt. It makes you unsure of yourself! I think hearing my friends political beliefs are great but I don't want their thoughts to make me or my other friends feel bad about our political beliefs.
I wouldn't un-friend someone because they have a different political view than I do, that is childish. If my friend's post offended me so much that i would want un-friend them than I really just need to grow up. Hiding someones post from your social media screen is OK as long as you don't confront them about it.
I really don't mind hearing my friends opinions. It might go against things that I believe or think but it should all be about tolerance. They give their opinion, I give mine and we agree to disagree.
In my opinion, I wouldn't mind if people are posting their political opinions on Facebook. These posts would be of assistance to many new voters. More people are joining facebook each day, and if you are able to express your opinion, it would make a huge impact on the race. People who are posting their political opinions on facebook are ranked first in getting people's respect on their political view.
I think i would just hide it and ignore i mean it would make me mad but still its there opinion, we are all different people in the world we all think differently, if someone unfriend there friend for a debate then that would be crazy i wouldn't they are still my friend, a matter of opinion will not break the friendship line.
Well when you are talking about politics thing can get pretty ruff but that does not mean you need to befriend your friend about something that they said that you disagree with its just their opinon.
I try to ignore them. No point in unfriending someone over their opinion. They have the right to express it.
You should just ignore it and let it go because its your friends life not yours so let them believe and feel in what they want.
If they are your true friends it wouldn't mater who they vote for or how they cause to present their political beliefs. Friends aren't about democrat or republican, it's about pure friendship.
No I do not like the discussions some adults and teenagers have about witch president to choose. Though its not enough to unfriend someone. Its best if you ignore these posts and wait until election day is over.
These posts might be contradictory to what we agree with but that's no reason to unfriend or delete people. Deleting them from your friend list seems more childish then it does helpful, why not just ignore them? No one is required to respond to anything that is contradictory to what they believe.
Well it depends on what they say if it is harsh I would just ignore the friend till the debate is over if it isnt let them have there opinion.
I think thet it would be right to not ignore the post but block it for a certain amount of time.
No i would just ignore their comments
I would just ignore them. It doesn't concern me in the first place anyways.
I would not unfriend someone just because a post thing like the election is not that important to lose a freind over it.
I believe that just because someone is talking about their politcial views doesn't mean you should unfriend, or unfollow them. It's their opinion if they choose to tell others how they feel about a support. No one can change their thoughts besides them. However, I will admit to saying that I dislike hearing about politics completely and would refuse to talk about it with anyone OTHER than family. So, I would ignore media political conversations on social networks. To me, this will always be a touchy support and shouldn't be discussed unless with family. Because at least family, most of the time, will understand your opinion better than outsiders.
I would not unfriend them even if they did not have my political view point. I would try to understand thier side of the story.
Who cares? If they are outright wrong then I will tell them but only children would get offended by other people's opinions.
I think you should not delete a friend for a silly reason.
I might or might not unfreind someone depending on what the person said about the opposing party on social media, but not if they just have an opposing opinion.
I think it depends what they say. If they say something really mean or inappropriate about the other president then I would un friend them.
I wouldn't unfriend somebody for having a different opinion on voting than me. I would only unfriend if they started a big fight.
I would not
I wouldn't unfriend someone just because they posted a different political opinion than me. It's an opinion, everyone has different opinions. I'm not going to unfriend somebody because they like blue better than red.
Personally I don't really pay attention to what my friends think about politics because we are too young to vote so I don't care...but to unfriend someone on Facebook or twitter is just childish because we are too young to vote!
No I do not think you should unfriend someone because that is childish.only if someone is being immature you should unfriend someone
I think that you shouldn't unfriend or unfollow a friend if they say something about politics. Because it's just there opinion, but if there saying something inappropriate than you should.
I think that everyone deserves to speak their own opinion but it depends on what you say it's a difference from saying your opinion and being rude.
I wouldn't unfriend someone for giving there opinion just because you like a sertain candidate.
I would not unfriend someone on social media if they said something against someone I was voting for. It is childish to unfriend someone because they said something that you didn't agree with. It is an opinion of what they want to say.
I wouldn't unfriend someone if they were posting things about elections because it's opinion and they can say what ever they want.
I would not unfriend someone if they were speaking there opinion
I would not unfriend someone on social media just because what they think of politics, it's only an opinion. If someone is my friend and have a different opinion they would still be my friend unless they start a fight or argument.
No I do think it is right to unfriend someone for speaking there mind........
It depends on how my friend says it or what it's about I would unfriend them if it was serious but if it's not I wouldn't unfriend them
I wouldn't unfriend them, that would be a little harsh. I would just hide thier post if I really didn't like what they're posting, or just ignore them. I don't really talk about politics so I don't have to really worry about getting myself mad about that stuff.
I do like to hear things on my page but if they were saying bad things then I would just ignore it if it got really bad like calling people sware words then I would unfriend them
I would not unfriendly someone just because they don't agree with me. Everyone is allowed their own opinion.
Im fine when people post about politics a little and maybe give there opinion, but I dont really like when people keep on posting it non-stop and insulting politians, I think I would just ignore them and hopfully they would stop, but if not, I would ask them to stop or not go on facebook or twitter until, its all over.
I think that if someone is a true friend they won't cross the line and be to personal when it comes to politics.
I think that you shouldn't unfriend or unfollow a friend on a social media website if they say something about politics. Because it's just there opinion, but if there saying something inappropriate than you should. But if it's just something about who they want to vote for then you shouldn't.

I think that that is so stupid! The only people that I'm friends with on Facebook are my friends, and they aren't going to stop being my friends just because of that! I mean, they're my friends!
I think if someone is a true friend they won't be to personal and cross the line about politics.
just becuase you dont agree with them it doesnt mean you have to unfreind them I mean seriously we are not perfect we wont agree, so there is no need to unfreind
I like hearing about the debate but if i do not agree then i just ignore them or if it gets to much i will un friend them
People should just accept that we all have different views and different opinions. Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I hate you.
No i honestly if they think something is politically incorrect that's there opinion why delete them for expressing themselves?
I don't always read political stories. However I would not unfriend someone if they put something about the election that I didn't like i would ignore it.
I wouldn't unfriend someone for a political post about who they want to vote for or anything like that. I mean it doesn't really bother me because I can't even vote and for people who do vote and post something when they post it they know someone might be against it. And if it's only one post who cares but if it's a lot of posts m=by the same person just block there status. But why should you delete them.
Well first you have the same name as me and second you are totally right I think your totally right
I like to here the different political opinions. i like to hear hat others are thinking and compare it to what I'm thinking
I actually like seeing my friends talk about the debates and politics because it gives me a chance to argue back at them and if they don't like it they can either hide it or unfriend me.
I would not unfriend them everybody deserves to have an opinion and everybody should respect that opinion. You do not have to like what people have to say but you should also not be rude about it. I think un-friending somebody would be very harsh.
I would just ingnore it or hide it. i would only unfriend someone if they made me mad enough to unfriend them.
No, I would not un-friend someone because we had different opinions, i would just ignore it and wait till the election is over. I would not ruin a friendship over the election. Every one has a different opinion
I would not care. i might argue back if i dont agree but im not into all of that so i would probably just laugh. most of my friends are the same way, so i would not have do deal with that. if it was someone i didn't know then i wouldn't even bother to talk back to them or even read there post.
I sometimes like seeing other peoples political opinions. Sometimes people take them way too far though. I would unfriend someone and re-friend them again after the election. That way we can still keep in touch but during the election I don't have to hear all their opinions.
I would not unfriend them because everybody has their own opinion and to unfriend them I don't think that is fair. People have their own opinion and i would not unfriend them if they say something that I don't like.
I wouldn't because it is just peoples opinions there is no point in unfriending someone for something they think and you dont like, it might make you mad but it dosen't mean unfriend them for it.
I would not mind if people talk about politcs on social media. Every one has the right to say what they think. As long as it dosent get to out of hand then i think it is perfectly fine to say what you need to say to get your point acros to people.
If the person was just posting about politics every 5 minutes, I wouldn't un-friend them, I would only hide all of their posts. Then maybe after the elections, I would make their posts visible again.
I would just ignore it because i'm not old enough to vote, and friends are way more important than politics, and anyway its Facebook and its fine if someone argues with me on politics because i shouldn't be in their politic life anyway because its not my business.
I would not unfriend them I would hide or delete the post,or tell them to stop, its not right to unfriend someone because of what they think they have there own opinion like you have yours.
I don't really hear a lot of political opinions but if I did I would choose to ignore them.
I think that politics are stupid why do we have to talk about them!!!
No,I do not think that you should un friend someone over political type things. Some people get quiet competitive in these kind of things. I don't really know why... It kind of confuses me so i try to stay out of it.
No i would never unfriend someone based on there opinion. I never really see posts on polititics anyway unless its a ( I love obama ) post or a funny picture but i dont really care 🙂
I would just ignore it, its just a post anyways. Also it only happens 3 months of the year so why make a big deal about it? People just want to get there option out there. Why would you unfriend them anyways? Its there vote, don't shoot them down for speaking out!
I would not unfriend someone for posting politics. i would hide the post or i would just ignore it. politics ar important so yes i would read them so i can know what is happing.
I think everyones opinion is important especially your friends. Everyone has a opinion and if they want their opinion showed or read than allow them to do that. If you don't like what you read than skip over it and go to the next one. If you are that selfish to have to delete something of one of your friends than you are not a true friend. If you disagree about something don't let it get in between your friend ship because you can always disagree on stuff but when you delete someone you may not get that friend back. It is not worth deleting a friend over a politic. Let everyone have an opinion and don't ruin your relation ships with friends over politics. Friends are worth more than politics.
I would debate with them not delete them as a friend. You are supposed to debate with people about politics. That makes it interesting. I have a Facebook myself and so far nobody has posted anything about politics at all.
I normally ignore it, but if it's too offensive I might hide it so I won't have to look at it but I wouldn't unfriend someone for their personal opinion. What they think is what they think.
If i did see see a political post i would read it but not write back and hope that i don't get a political post again. :~)
No, I would not "unfriend" someone just because they say who you should vote for. You should not lose a friends over politics. I would just ignore them and not let them get to me. I also think its good to hear the politics so you can hear all the opinions, it might even change yours.
I would not unfriend someone because every body has different things to say and some people would but I would just ignore it.
to me it doenst matter because i would like to here some of my friends opion thats there opion if thats what they believe then so be it it doenst make me wont to befriend then its just there opion
I would unfriend someone because sometimes people go overboard and say things that are inappropriate.
To me it would deepened on the person if he or she did go crazy I would unfriend them but if not I wouldn't
I would keep them as a friend. It's their opinion and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It's not a big deal if everyone doesn't agree with your opinion.
I think that people should vote what they want to not about what everyone else says, but what you believe.I also think that you should not unfriend people just because theres is the same as yours cause its not important
I would keep them as my friends. It isn't that hard to just scroll past their post, and most of the politics from the presidential election will be over with soon.
I would unfriend someone who posts politics because if you didn't watch the debates then go rewatch it on the internet or ask someone else but don't take the time to post it on Facebook it takes up to much of other peoples wall space!
I would probably just tell then that they don't need to say that kind of stuff on a social and if they did it again then I would unfriendly them
I would just hide their posts on politics not unfriend them because that would be mean, even if you don't like their opinion. Everyone has their own, you don't have to agree with it just accept it.
I just dont pay attention to the post i am just hopping the post will go away after election.
I would because to may people would get into a big fight and might post bad comments on other peoples status and hurt peoples feelings
No because people should have there own opinion and it wouldn't be fair to unfriend someone because of there thoughts
I think I would un-follow them but it depends how it is I mean If it's like vote for Obama I'm fine or Romney but if it gets to the point that it is really annoying and it's overboard then I would ignore them because it's out of hand.
No because friends our friends and I won't unfriend anybody because of some election
I would unfriend someone only if a fight is started because I don't think it's nessissary. People have their own opinions to choose who they believe is right.
I wouldn't unfriend anyone because I don't think that it is that important I would just ignore them. A political debate It's not worth loosing a friend for.
I wouldn't unfriendly someone over an election it is their thought, it doesn't shouldnt matter if their opinion is different from your. I would just ignore the post even if it makes mad.
I wouldnt unfriend someone who posted a political comment that was rude because most of the time the person probably wasnt trying to be rude. If it was that bad, you can just remove it or hide it from your timeline.
I wouldn't de-friend them just because of a post. It would be a little mean but if they went WAY over board then I would but everyone has a different feeling so it doesn't matter. But i think it would be rude to do that to a good friend, and to just stop being friends because they have a different idea then I do.
I wouldn't unfriend anyone because they dont agree with me... And I would just ignore them because everyone is different..a
I would not unfriend them because they are intitle to there on opinion and it is not something I would risk your friendship on
I would just ignore those people until the election is over because it would be pointless to unfriend someone over their opinion but they should really keep it to their self
I would not unfriend someone who posts a political comment because they probably didn't mean to be rude or hurt anybody and iris just a comment.
I don't it's worth losing a friend because of a presidential election. Also because the election is over in 3 weeks.
I wouldn't unfriendly someone over an election it is their thought, it shouldn't matter if their opinion is different from yours. I would just ignore the post even if it makes me and or other people mad.
I would not unfriend some one because getting In a fight over politics is just rong although I don't have a face book if I did or I saw what they rote might change my mind
I wouldn't unlike my friend even though I don't have facebook. It's their right to state their opinion.
i think hearing someone else throuth of it is ok because it lets you know how they feel about it.
I wouldn't "unfriend" someone if we had different political views. I would accept that they have their own opinion and that I have my opinion.
If I saw something on social media about politics that I or that other people might get offended by I would do me best to ignore it.
It is someone overreacting just because they like the diffrent polictical party. it's only for a few months and things aren't going to change your life untill your old enough to vote. those in middle and in the 1st and 2nd year in high school should know what the diffrent polictical parties stand for. but it is not worth lossing your friend to another political party.
I think Derp. My friend posts a bunch of stupid things about Obama and Romney and its kind of annoying but not annoying enough to unfriend him. Unfriending is for FOOLS!!!
I would just read their posts because I'd like to know their opinion.
I'd ignore it and hope they go away after the election.
Well, I'm not on Facebook so I don't know what I would do. It would be kinda mean to cut them off, but if they say something insulting about another user how doesn't have the same opinion as him/her wouldn't be nice either.
friends should not have a problem with different beliefs even if its about debating.
When someone adds a status about something I don't like i would most likely just ignore it.
I wouldn't unfriend or unfollow a friend just because they have a different oppinion than me. Life is all about opinions. Every person you talk to will have an opinion on something.
i would unfriend someone if they posted something mean about me
I will ignore them because Facebook you should talk about your day or something.
i think it is there opinion and it don't matter what they think
I wouldn't unfriend someone by the political views. I have my opinions and they have theirs. If they want to vote for them then they can. Their opinion isn't hurting me so why make a mountain out of a mole hill?
I would never 'unfriend' a friend of mine on facebook if we don't see eye to eye on the whole voting and politics. It's just their opinion, and there's nothing I can do about it. It's a free country, and people should be allowed to voice their opinion without worrying about whether or not their friends will unfriend them on facebook, or twitter.
You shouldn't unfriend someone on social media because of their political views because you're probably going to refriend them after it is all said and done. You should just ignore what others have to say.
i would just ignore my friends its there personal opinion.
No i would not
i think i would delete the person that disagrees with me
I would just ignore the post.
I have never unfriended someone on Facebook but I have gotten into arguments over ObamaCare back in 2011 with a classmate. After a certain point I just decided to stop arguing and let it blow over.
i did the same thing but we git into argument over how Romneycare an Obamacare are about the same thing now we state our Apennines en say why we think that may be your classmate should do the same
I would just ignore them because I don't really care. I don't vote so what the country wants is what it gets. I doubt anything we can do would pull us out of our rut that we made and have fallen into. Simply put... I DON'T CARE.
It doesn't bother me they could post what ever they want I don't read them.
I disagree with people who unfriend or block posts from people they shouldn't get rid of their friend the other person just because the person has a different opinion.
i would just ignore them but still i would not unfriend them
I don't like hearing their opinions. I find that there is no reason to nag at others for their opinions. They should keep it to themselves.
I don't think you should un-friend someone who has different opinions on political comments because thats just an opinion and you shouldn't let that get in the way of a friendship.
I won't cause they might tell on there friends and tell everybody at school and they might believe her/him and they might hate you.
no i would not defreind someone just because there sharing there own opinion that's just rude and mean.
I would not let my friendship come in between the politics because he it is a silly argument too and it is just dumb to fight over politics .
I think it is a good idea that people are putting what they think about the debate but if they are arguing about it with their friends they are just ruining their relationship.
Personally, I am not on social media, but I can understand why someone would unfriend someone over a political debate.
I would probably hide their porsts, unless they went to far, or they took a personal stance, at which point I might consider unfriending them, depending on the strength of my relationship with them.
No I would keep them as a friend every opinion counts . That`s why we get to vote . We get to chose what we want!
I would just ignore them, they probably would go away after election.
My friends don't talk about that subject that I know of.
I would just ignore them and hope it blows over.
I don't go on Facebook very often but when I do those comments does not bother me at all.
If someone put a post that you don't like you should not De-friend them you should just ignore the post and move on.
I would never unfriend a friend because of their opinion. Sure, the election is a big thing but why lose a friend about an opinion?! I'm not really into the political stuff so it does not matter to me so I'd hide any post I'd get.
I never see any of this on my twitter yet my mother she left for about 3 minutes and I looked on her screen. 102 New comments when she clicked on it exploded with words I don't understand. That was just crazy.
I think I would not really care if someone disagreed with me in political debates because I don't get frustrated easily. Also if it really did make me angry or sad I would probably hide the post. I think some people also get carried away and don't mean to hurt but, accidentally do.
I don't like the posts. I don't like to read them. I think it's not worth it so I would just ignore the posts. It's not worth it to unfriend them.
These opinions don't bother me. Some of them do and that would be if I was voting for Romney and someone said something terrible about Romney I would probably hide the post. I might acutely De-friend someone if it gets out of hand.
I wouldn't unfriend one of my friend just because they choose someone for the debate between Obama and Romney. I would not fight over it with my friend ..Just like my family my uncle is voting for Obama and my mom and grandparents are voting for Romney ... And im really not going to fight over it.. So i would never get in a fight about whos voting for who
I don't think that anyone should get rid of a friend just because of their opinion, because people have the right to vote for whoever they like and I think getting rid of a friend because of the post they sent about politics is kind of childish.
To me it really doesn't matter what people post because I really don't want either candidate to win. I really don't think you should unfriend someone if you don't agree with them because they are your friend, and friends should not care what other friends say about something stupid like an election, because your friends.
I personally think that if you want to post about the debate and politics go ahead but know your limits don't get other people involved but me I would just hide it if I didn't like what they said but to each his own.
I feel that to unfriend someone because of their opinion is ridiculous. I would just simply ignore them and keep my political opinions to myself! Every once in a while I would like to hear others political ideas. They can sometimes make me think about my choice!
I'm fine with people posting on Facebook about politics because I don't have time to watch the news or the debates. If I could I would.
I don't care about the political posts because if you don't like them you can just ignore them but if you like keeping track of politics then you can read them.
I don't really care for the political posts on Facebook, but I wouldn't "unfriend" someone just because they are posting things about the election. I would probably just ignore their post. Just because someone is talking about the election, doesn't mean I have to get mad at them. They have their opinions and have mine.
I like listening to these posts! I don't ignore them i take them into consideration. Not only does it help someones choices and decisions but its an interesting way to find out more about your friends and how they would decide if someones a good candidate or not.
I don't really care about political posts on Facebook even with the ones I don't agree with. everybody has there own opinion so it shouldn't matter what people think. If someone were post something I don't agree with I would just ignore it.
If it was me I would just ignore it until after the election. I also like to hear what my friends think.
I think they should just ignore a debate shouldn't ruin a friendship
I like hearing all the debate over the elections. It's interesting to see my friend's points of view, and debating over issues can help me get to know my friends better. Politics shouldn't be something to unfriend someone over; everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
I would unfriend someone for making a comment on FB that I disagreed with. First, I think it is unfair that people are making unfriendly comments. Also, I think people should act more respectfully. It is not nice for someone to talk about politics and that it should not be allowed to do that.
I would comment on the there post . I would Unfriend them immidiately. I would also block them.
...no i wouldn't unfriend someone for a politcal comment that i disagree with. I think this because everyone is entitled to an opinion. Also everyone gets to vote for who they want to.
no i would not un friending some one.thats nothing to lose a friend over. if they disagree with me they just disagree with me people have the right to state there opinion.
I wouldn't unfriend someone, just because of a political decision. I wouldn't do that because if you just unfriend someone on facebook just because of a disagreement you wouldn't have a facebook. It is really immature and childish.
No i have no point in deleting one of your friends over a debate
I would tell them that i do not agree with their coment and tell them what i think and if they want to be a mean and stupid person i well delet them RIGHT AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would not unfriend someone just cause they have a different political view.
yes i would ignore it I would not hide it5 i would just let it be.
If I see a political post about the party I oppose, I usually join in and have a little debate. I like arguing with friends. If it gets to a point where I don't want to be in the argument anymore, for any reason, I just leave. I never unfriend, really.
No I would not even care if they posted it.,
no I don,t agree with the
well I wouldn't make someone not my friend because of some political stuff and i hope she doesn't delete me either lol well tht about all I have to say.
no I don,t agree with that
i would just ignore them just because there saying how they feel doesnt mean i need to hate them for the rest of there lives.i have my opinion they have theres no need to get affencive
Honestly, it depends. If it was really anti my party with lies about the candidate, yes, but if they were just joking or lightly expressing their opinion, probably not.
I don't think people should judge people on who they vote for thats stupid
No,Just Because They Have Different Opinions,Doesn't Mean You Have To UnFriend Them Or Like Hide There Posts,Or Ignore Them Until They Leave,Because They Might Have The Same Opinion As You.....
I think that it's stupid to "unfriend" someone just because you don't agree with them. We all have our own opinions. It's not like we are trying to hurt or offend you. It's just what we personally think.
I think it can bring up fight between friends and i don't really care about politics.
I don't think you should unfriend someone just because of their political views! All people are intitled to their own opinion. I think that if you don't like what is being said you should just wait until the election is over then get back on facebook.
I don't mind seeing all of my friends' different political opinions on Facebook. We have freedom of speech so that everyone can give their opinion on the subject. I would not unfriend someone over expressing their opinion on a social media site because it's just not worth it.
It doesn't bother me. I like hearing other peoples opinions on things even if I don't agree with some. You should just tell them to stop if it gets too heated or personal.. You shouldn't just stop liking someone because of their beliefs on things..
I really don't think people should do this it's not good if you post something you won't like it if I go on and hide what you said so everyone else could see it right? So why do it to someone else. Its rude for people to do
Just because someone has a different opinion about presidents should not be personal. If someone takes offence to it and the person talking to them only said something that expresses how they feel about the two people running for president then they shouldn't be talking about politics to people.
I think arguing over anything is great because it means you have some differences that you can discuss.
If a person is really your friend, it shouldn't matter what they post on Facebook.
I think you shouldn't get mad at them because its just their point of view everyone has their own opinions.
If you want to keep a friend that badly don't talk about politics on facebook or twitter
yes i like hearing different thoughts then mines. Nawl it dont make me mad i would just ignore the post
I should know about this because I'm a total liberal democrat who always posts "support Obama" pictures on my facebook all the time. I'm sure it annoys some of my friends. Some of my friends aren't for Obama, but I think it's important not to unfriend them. They should still be your friends, whatever your political beliefs are. In fact, my grandpa is a republican supporter and he teases me about democrats all the time. I tease him right back 🙂
I would just hide the status and ignore it the whole thing.
no beffcaue i would just ign ore it
i would play argue saying no that one sucks or whatever but have it mean nothing really
I would not delete the friend because of their opinion on who the president should be
I don't think you need to "unfriend" someone who writes something you don't agree on politics. It is there opinion and you can just ignore it if you want to. Most of my friends are not the same party as I am and I don't really care. Just don't bring politics up.
I would not un friend a friend because he picks a diffident debate I would just ignore it.
Me and my friends don't really talk about politics online ,but If they did I wouldn't mind because were not even old enough to vote.
no I wouldn't 'unfriend' someone because they posted something I don't agree with because people are always going to post things I don't like that doesn't mean I unfriend them i would just ignore it and let it go there's no point in being angry over something like that.
I wouldn't unfriend anyone unless the started posting rude comments on my page
We shouldn't get adds on our computers i causes our computers to be slow and crash and gets bugs.
I dont think I would because its just a stupid argument about an election. It has nothing to do with your friend ship and it shouldn't affect the bond you have between you and your friends at all.
I think that if my friend was talking to me about politics I would not be her friend any more
it doesnt matter to me i would love to here my friendz respondz it will make a good debate between us
no I would not de friend some one because they are my friend I think no one should judge any one if they post something it is there option so don't get mad people its there choice so don't judge your friends if you get mad don't say any thing just keep it to yourself.
These posts don't really bother me but I would rather have people keep their opinions on politics to themselves. Nobody needs to know who you're voting for. I just ignore the posts and hope they go away after the election passes.
I would just delete the comment, because nobody cares about the people that have opinions for everything.
your political life and your social life should be seperate from eachother as a citizen because
Your political life an your social life should be seperate. As a citizen youcan keep your opinion to yourself.Don't judge your friends ,because of the government.
Well I think that if they don't agree that they should stand up and do what's right and you know what's right
no i would not defriand some one becose of a presidential debate becose if you do not like wate is being sayed or posted block the post till the debate is over.
i would just read them and then ignore them.
I don't get why people would unfriend someone because of THEIR opinion. If they have an opinion about a candidate that I don't agree on, I wouldn't bash or unfriend them. It's their opinion.
No, I believe everyone has a right to their own opinion, you should allow open discussion because it might cause you to realize aspects you haven't noticed, improving your outlook on the descision
I don't think you should because it is just a opinion go ahead and fight but don't unfriend it is just one a year just deal with it!
I would not be angry at my friend enough to unfriend him if he posted
Something that I disagreed on, in fact I wouldn’t even care, I think that friends shouldn’t be mad just because they say something as silly as one candidate is better than another, that’s like saying you would unfriend someone because their favorite team is the Yankees.
I would never go as far to un-friend someone. Until the debate I wouldn't even pay attention to all of the political things my friends are saying. I would let myself think what I want to think, and not let anyone other then what the candidates are saying persuade me in any way. So in the long run I say just don't pay attention to what anyone else thinks but you. And after all you are the person voting.
I think that even if your friend upset you, you shouldn't ignore them or unfriend them
I wouldn't unfriend someone even if they did make political posts that I did not like. The election is only temporary so thus, why not wait until the end of the election. It would be then that most people stop posting political topics
If i had a Facebook and i got annoyed with what people said about the presidential debate, i would just ignore them. I would just ignore them because it could just be nonsense being said back and forth between two or three of you followers or friends. Even if I disagreed with what people it doesn't mean that I just have to respond to them and put up an argument, I would just ignore it and keep on doing what i was doing.
I wouldn't unfriend anybody for political views we all have our differences but at the end we are still going to be same as we were before.
no i would not
un friend someone because their belief is their belief
i would not do that i would just ignore it. nobody is making you read it. i would be really mad if someone did that to me.
i wouldnt unfriend someone because of a political post. i would just ignore the post.
I would not unfriend some one because of a political opinion. The reason why is it's just a opinion. Also its nothing to be mad about other people might not like your opinion.
No i wouldn't unfriend them because everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I would not take them off. Because friend ship is more important than a politics comment on a web. i think we should just leave no comment and keep a friend.
Why would you un-friend a friend over politics.? I think if you go that far in a fight , then they may not be your true friend. I would just don't respond, and don't talk to them for a couple of days, and see if it blows over. In the end it might turn back to how it was before politics came in to the situation.
I like to hear the views of my friends. It doesn't matter if they think something I don't. I think friends should just ignore what others post if they don't like the post, thats what I do.
I would not defriend my friend if she thought diffrently then how I think. Because it so is silly to fighting over these things. If someone defreinded me i would just let it go.
I would not defriend my friend if she thought diffrently then me. I think it is very very VERY silly to fight over these kinds of things.
No they should not make you mad enough to unfriend someone because every one has the right to their own opinion
I think that you shouldn't delete your friends on a social media site because even if they have different views they are unqiue. Do to others as you would want done to you.
I personally think that when the different political posts pop up on social media sites that it displays freedom of speech and the right to an opinion, however I try to ignore the different opinions but the fact that they posts political views does not urge me to remove them.
Although I personally don't agree with everything posted, I would never delete someone based on political beliefs. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and it can be good to hear different viewpoints.
Kids aren't old enough to vote, so I think they should keep their opinions to themselves. Because sometimes when they are talking about the elections, they get angry and it breaks up your friendships. Talk to your friends who have the same opinions as you do, so there won't be any fighting.
I think it's just stupid to unfriend someone over politics. so what if you have different oppinions on the presedential race. you could just hide the posts from that person. if you delete them you could end up with someone mad at you
I think that even if they have different beliefs then you, you schouldn't unfriend them. It would be like be unfriending someone because they don't like cheese on their pizza. Why would you unfriend someone because of posts about politics. If you do that then maybe you should about WHY it's annoying to you. No matter how annoying it is, its not right.
You should still remain friends. I would just not talk about it that muh, though.
i like hearing different political opinions because you get to find out stuff you didnt know about the other candidate.i say that if a friend of mines post their opinions on social media that i would not unfreind them because it is their opinions i respect what they are saying.
I probably wouldn't un-friend them, but I might block their post.
I woudn't delete the post , I actually sit there and read them . I wouldn't delete them because , who would think my genneration would be posting debates ? People in my generation is usually post stupid things like saying what there doing. Seeing debates from my age group is something totally different .
I think defriending a friend for not agreeing in politics is not right. You can at least hide someone. There is no reason to defriend someone, for politics. Politics should not bring you and your friends apart. Everyone has an opinion.
Well my friends and I all have the same view on politics and how neither of the people are correct on anything so far but if we didn't agree on something we would have a nice calm conversation about it so my answer is no.
I accept the fact that other people, even my friend have different opinions than me. I like talking with my friends about our opinions. The posts wouldn't make me mad enough to unfriend them because all of us have our own opinions, and we should respect that.
I would just ignore the posts until the election was over. You just need to ignore the posts until November 6. Is that so hard???
Personally, I think unfriending someone just because that person posted a political comment you didn't like is a bit extreme. Unfriending someone is pointless to me. If I got a political post on my Facebook account, I wouldn't do a thing about it. I like to stay neutral and out of the way.
You should be able to post about politics. However, if it get personal, just block the comments or the person, especially if they are a random stranger.
I think you get an opinion not matter what!
I personally love having political debates with my friends. It is exhilarating, exciting, and I love to hear my friends' views on different topics. But, for those of you who are having problems with your friends because of the debates, remember that you became friends with the person you are upset with for a reason – don't let the friendship suffer as a result.
I think that you should just ignore what your friends are saying about politics. If they are truely your friends, you would respect their opinions. Chances are they aren't old enough to vote anyways.
My state is a complete Republican state. I wouldn't necessarily remove my friends from Facebook for making a political statement against Obama, who I am going for, I would just simply hide their posts until one of the two get elected, since I have a lot of Republican friends.
My friends and I get in friendly debates over the candidates but we know our limits and we don't go past them and if they do go past the line then I would just ignore the post and if they go way past the line then I would ignore them until after the election. They're still my friends.
No, I think that no matter what they said, agreed or not, its not a way to un-friend them, you can just ignore the situation, and if it becomes more intense, then talk to them about it. A real friend would accept their opinions.
I don't think you should un-friend someone because their political beliefs are different but rather be open to other people's opinion's and arguments.
I like hearing the different opinions of my friends on Facebook and, if I didn't agree with a status, I wouldn't unfriend someone over it. That's like crying over spilled milk.
Yes I think it's cool and okay to hear about thinks happening around the world. You can get involved in a serious educational and fun debate. But I don't think it should go that far to you having to ignore a friend. After all you have more thinks to worry about.
Yes, hearing different people's opinions is important. It would not make me mad enough to unfriend someone if they expressed a certain opinion that I didn't agree with because peoples opinions can have a affect on who we are voting for.
I don’t think that you should unfriend someone just because they have a different point of view than you do.
Me and one of my friends got on facebook and were argueing over if Obama or Romney were going to be better as a president.
I like hearing what other people have to say about obama or romney..It can get kinda of dramatic sometimes, thats when i start to hide the post, but I have never unfriended someone for their opinon..We all have freedom of speech!
I don't have facebook but, I think I would just hide them
If a friend had a different political opinion than I did, I would be kind and not put down the other person's opinion. If someone went too far and offended my, or someone else's opinion, I would ignore them until the election was over so we could stop being mad at each other for our opinions.
No. Just because one person's opinion differs from yours, doesn't mean that you should get upset. Each person is entitled to their own opinion.
I don't think you should unfriend people on Facebook/twitter just because of politics it is like not being friends with your real friends.
You should not unfriend people on Facebook/twitter because of politics you never know who the person really is and if that person is Chuck Norris and you make him mad... well you know the rest.
I wouldn't un-friend someone just because he or she thought differently of the political debate and i don't think anyone should not be friends offline because of something online.
Personally, I believe that everyone has the right to put their personal opinions on his/hers social media account, but sometimes it can get out of hand. I try to respect others opinions even though they not be my opinions as well. I pretty much ignore their comments and leave my beliefs to myself.
I might hide a friend's comments if they are posting political content that I disagree with, but I would only unfriend somebody if he or she is posting with malicious intent. That applies to all posts, not just political topics. I do see more offensive comments concerning politics than anything else.
Unfriending someone because of what they post? That is ridiculous. Everyone has a right to post whatever they feel like. Though it can be annoying its important to keep your friends as they may be your family or other close friend. Just ignore it, posting only feeds the fire. When the election is over peace will be restored.
Political posts on your social media page can backfire on you even if you didn't write them. It's best to hide the posts because some friends might think that you agree with the posts if you just ignore it.They might think that you are endorsing that idea because you didn't delete the post.
Whether it may related to sexuality, religion, or even political view, a person should always be allowed the freedom of speech, to share their opinions. Abjuring is never good.
You should hide your post because one day you will forgive him/her.
I have very strong political opinions but I'm not sure if i would "unfriend" someone because they said something i don't like.
I would never unfriend someone because they are already my friend and there is no reason to unfriend them for politics. They have there thoughts I have mine. It shouldn't even be happening because there are even more arguments the more it goes on.
I would never unfriend someone over a political post, we all have the right to say and think what we want.
I would not De-friend someone over politics because politics can break some of the best friends over comments on social media. I rather just ignore it.
I don't think that you should de-friend someone just because they said something that offended you or your opinions. They were just speaking they're thoughts, it's first amendment rights. People should be able to respect other peoples' opinions and not get mad because they don't like what they say. Chances are people are thinking the same thing about things you say too so just live with it.
I would not unfreind the person I would just block the user.
Just because I have a different point of view than some of my friends I would never un-friend someone just because of that. We all have different opinions and freedom of speech so as long as we do it in a respectful manner we have the right to speak our minds freely .
I only Unfriend people if they don't listen. It's hard to tell your friends to stop bothering you even if there bullies
Post like that don't make me want to unfriend them. Everybody has a right to their own opinion. If it got to the point where people were dissing each other because of what person they wanted to win II would just hide the post. Everybody has a right to an opinion but it dos not need to go that far.
i would listen to them and tell them what i think and ask them what thier opinion is
Everyone has the right to feel or say their opinions, and others cannot get mad at that. It is best to just accept their decisions or opinions because not everyone will agree or disagree on everything they see, feel, or say. Everyone is different and of course will have different choices, decisions, and sayings. My choice of this will be to just ignore it.
I dont thank it is a big deal just ignore what you friend post on facebook it is not that hard to just not look at something
I can see the people's point of view on this topic. But it only happens once every four years, a small comment on politics doesn't mean you have to unfriend them. I think the best thing is to ignore the comments about politics
No, people should never delete friends or stop interacting with friends just because people have political differences they should take their friends thoughts into consideration to better there knowledge from both of the candidates sides.
I would never unfriend someone on Facebook or unfollow someone on Instagram just because they are speaking their opinion. If I deleted someone every time they said something about politics, I would have no friends. However, I am glad when someone has the same opinion as me.
I think if you unfriend someone your being rude just because you don't get along about politics! Come on you are going to make up some time about 2 to 3 weeks after the election. Then you will be friends on Facebook again then all is fine tell next election then it will happen again.
I would not unless they were rude to me or not close of a friend if they were a close friend I will instantly forgive them because I love my few friends I have
Every opinion is different, but not wrong. We should tolerate those who have different opinions. Sharing thoughts would be better
I think it is great to have discussions about politics online. It is a good way to get your opinions out, and I wouldn't be mad if someone posted something I didn't agree with. I usually just tell them my opinion. After all, we can all put our opinions out. It's the first amendment.
I would prefer if they kept it to themselves and not post it because some people might feel offended.
If someone posted a comment about the election that I may not agree with I wouldn’t unfriend them. It just seems like a good way to lose friends. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion whether you like it or not there will be someone that doesn’t agree with you and it doesn’t seem worth it to have an argument over it. Just ignore the comment if it truly bothers you. It’s like saying to your best friend: I don’t want to be friends anymore because you like a different pizza topping.
If someone said something rather mean about a candidate in the election online I would just ignore it, during the election people feel the need to share their opinions and sometimes they say cruel things about the candidates to do it. After the election they will stop and things can get back to normal. However if someone online said very inappropriate things about a candidate online or made fun of me for supporting them then I would probably un-friend them. I do like to read what others have to say about the election and why they support certain people. That can help me decide who I support, however I don’t want to have to read inappropriate things online or stuff that mocks my opinions.
I would not unfriend someone just because they have a different political opinion than myself. Everyone has a right to there own opinion, even if it isn't the same as your own.
I dont think it is right to unfriend someone because that not always tells someones personality. But if you are trying to avoid it, just don't post anything or say rude comments.
A lot of my friends are for a different candidate than I am. Most kids don't really talk about politics in person, and they use their social media to express their opinions, which I believe they should keep to themselves unless asked to address the matter. So, if a post really offended me, and we weren't close friends, I would most likely unfriend them.
I think that even though some people do post negative and bad things on Facebook about the candidates and politics, I think it is bad and should be hidden. I think this because once you hide a post, it is still visible to other people, but not to you, so you can just forget it ever happened. Also I think this because if you hide it, you just don't think about the post anymore, so it's out of your mind completely. And when you just leave the post there, you can go back to it some other time and then get mad again, even though the presidential election would be over, and you could get mad again and have even more hate directed to that one particular candidate.
I would not hide a post or unfriend a person because of what they say about their political views, I would in fact embrace it. If there is ideas out there that I don't agree with, I wouldn't hide from them, I would discuss them. Critics and people with different views can be our friends, because they show us our faults.
Friends & Politics
I think that the elections should not have an effect on the social media. If you are friends with someone who has a different opinion, they should still be your friend on Facebook and just ignore your posts. If it’s bothering them enough, then you can hide the posts but you shouldn’t “unfriend” them.
I think that friends should not unfriend someone because of who they want to be president if their real friends they would just ignore it.
I do not think unfreinding someone is an appropriate thing to do under the sercumstance that every one person has the right to their own opinion.
When it comes to online relationships with friends they are always delicate at best, and when you throw in politics it is like walking on a tightrope over a pool full of alligators. But don’t lose a friend because of a ridiculous comment made online, it is always best to say no to defriending a person who all in all is a reliable friend. Ignoring posts won’t completely work, you have opinions and probably want to share them, and others feel the same way. But when you see a post that aggravates you, think in perspective (would you stop being friends with your best friend if the told you they didn’t like your candidate in person?) and while you post think about what others would think, you don’t want to be deleted from a friend list. Also remember what the people we look up to always tell us, if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all. Share your opinions in a kind way, but if others can’t don’t blame them straightaway.
No! Why would I do that kind of stupid thing? Everybody has different thoughts like what kind of food they eat. You can't be mad about smething like this. It's obvious that other people have other interests and that's even why debates are here.
I would personally never post anything regarding politics. Some people can get very worked up about the subject, so I just choose not to get involved with it. Whenever I see a post about the upcoming elections, it doesn’t make me want to unfriend them, because they have a right to their own opinion. Although I don’t see why it’s necessary to post about it, if someone really feels like they need to express their opinion, by all means they can. Their belief won’t reflect on my opinion or decision in the long run.
I wouldn't unfriend someone for political opinions. I believe that everyone has their own opinions and we have to respect that. But I would unfriend someone that wants to change my own way of thinking.
To be honest I would un-friend someone if they post a post about a candidate that is too far
I think hearing other people's opinions on politics is a positive thing. I wouldn't unfriend anyone or ignore their thoughts. But remember that it isn't a good thing if people post bad things about a presidential candidate, decision, or anything else that someone is voting on.
That would be unfair to my friend if i unfriended them; they have a right to post what they believe in, as do i have the right to disagree
wow... this is pretty sad; you would defriend someone over a disagreement....
george washington said that political parties would tear this country apart, and we have come to this!
This really depends on who the friend is. I'd probably just read them, but not react at all. I would act like they weren't posted up. I just wouldn't really get myself worked up.
I wouldn't unfriend somebody because everybody has an opinion. Why should I let that bother me?
I wouldn't unfriend somebody over a comment because their just stating their opinion. You can either choose to debate them about it or simply ignore it but don't let something like that ruin your day.
Personally, i will ignore ANYONE online who dosn't agree with my own oppinion untill the election is over. Because i feel if no one agrees with me then i would think that my oppinion isn't good enough to convice people to say "oh yeah thats a good oppinion i agree with you". But i do know that thats my own thought and no one needs to like or agree it. so actually if you are ignoring people then just think that only your oppinon matters not other peoples oppinions.
I wouldn't unfriend! Maybe block the post or something... Some f my family has threatened to unfriend based on political comments.
I don't think it should matter everyone has their own opinion and everyone might not agree.
I believe that if someone is your friend, you would not "unfriend" them just because of what they believe in. If you don't agree with someone in real life, you don't just say that your not their friend anymore. so whats the difference if its on social media.
I would hide the post because I still would like them as a friend I just don't want to see it.
I don't really like hearing friends political opinions but I don't get mad enough to unfriend them. It is kind of interesting to see what they think but it gets annoying after a while, but I just ignore them.
I might unfriend someone because of politics if they said something against what i think and comment horrible on what i think and they kept going on and on about it. If they don't stop i would probably unfriend them.
I wouldn't because they are still my friend they just have a different opinion.
I would just ignore the post because I am open minded, accepting of my friends' opinions, and tolerant of opposing views.
People have different opinions, I don't see why you would unfriend someone on some social wbsite because someone has a different opinion than you do.
I don't think that I would unfriend anyone over something political unless they were saying something really nasty . I think that everyone deserves an opinion and that it's fine to share it.
I would, and will never "shun" a person just because of their choice in political party. I may not agree with them, and may even post in reply for a healthy debate, but that does not mean that they cannot be my friend. It's kind of like saying that your friend cannot be your friend because they are a different race, isn't it? I say, respect your friends decision.
I would not unfriend some one because of this...
It would depend on how long you were friends or how good of friends you are. People will probably make up after but not talk for the rest of your life probably impossible.
I think I wouldn't unfriend someone because I think you can have a say and everyone has the freedom of speech to speak freely about what they believe in. I think this is what makes our country so great.
No, I would not unfriend someone for putting up a political post. While I do not choose to post my political opinions if my friends do it does not effect me even if I greatly disagree. Why should we care who my friends vote for? We have that freedom that's whats great about our country.
I would not un-friend someone for a political comment because emotions are running high and people are just stating whats on there minds.
I think it is ridiculous that someone would unfriend someone because of political opinions. Someone shouldn't just be friends or enemies with someone just because of political reasons.
I would not un-friend anyone because it really isn't anyone's fault for believing what they believe. It wouldn't be fair to people if you judge them by their political issues.
I personalty would not care if they posted something about the election that i didn't like. They are still my friends, they have their beliefs i have mine.
I think thats dumb you shouldn't post that kind of stuff on a social media website
I think that is wrong. your friends political choice shouldn't change what you think of them. Chances are your parents even have different political choices.
I wouldn't unfriend someone because of what they believe politically. It's their freedom to write and post what they want. Even if I might not agree with what they are saying, I wouldn't block them.
I think just because you don't agree with your friends about all the political things going on doesn't mean to unfirend someone. Everyone should have their own opinions, and if someone doesn;t want to be your friend beacause of your opinion, they aren't a very good friend.
Everyone has there own different opinions. Personalty I do not believe friendships should end because someone disagrees with there thinking, therefor I would never do such thing. Its always interesting to know what others are thinking and there point of view in such important things.
I'm personally not that fond of politics, but i think that it's not appropriate to post things about politics on multimedia sites considering the fact some people might not have the same opinion.
Politics should stay away from friendships and social networking sites. I believe you have the right to voice your own opinion, but if you're truly friends it shouldn't matter. Having the same political beliefs may help build a friendship but it shouldn't destroy it.
I think people are overreacting about it, everybody has their own opinion and people should respect that and not get mad at each other.
Personally, I wouldn't "unfriend" someone because they believe differently on politics than me. I think that everyone has different views on politics and that it shouldn't determined who are or are not your friends on Facebook, Twitter etc.
I wouldn't because I am not really allowed to vote yet, so nothing really effects me. But, I could understand if someone that was older than me did that, I would get it because they might feel really strongly about their opinion and someone (not meaning to, or meaning to) could offend them
No, i would not unfriend any one because of that unless it got out of hand
I would unfriend them because they would keep coming back with the same post. I want my friends to think the same way I do.
Un-friending some one for something like that means you are immature and can't get a handle on reality. In reality the person you un-friend is going to tell some one with the same opinion on politics about what you did and then starts a fight. This all comes down to the simple fact that you are potentially losing more than you are gaining.
It's just an opinion, so I don't think that is something that is a big enough issue to tick me off. If they were posting false statements about the parties, and going against other parties, that's fine by me because I'm not them. I don't think mere opinions would set off somebody that much. Now, the scenario really just depends on how they use their words, but if it's a statement that seems hurtful to the other party, they talk about it 24/7, and they go WAY beyond the line, then I think it is worthy to block them.
no i wold just ignore the post
It depends. After a while if they're posting constant meaning less posts about the same thing I would get pretty annoyed and maybe "unfriend" them. I mean I would just ignore it for a while but if it goes on for a while I would just hide the posts their making. They shouldn't be posting things on Facebook about that either way cause it can start an argument and more people would comment their opinions.
I think that someone should not "unfriend" a person because they don't like the same things as themselves. I would understand if they had a comment saying; oh yeah you guys are no problem agenst us" or a comment defending there team but there really is no point in unfriending someone just because they have different interests.
i thank that you should get over it because if you were truly friends you would stop arguing and talk about something else
i think that you shouldn't just unfriend someone because they like something you don't like. You also shouldn't friend someone because they like what you like and only that. friend people for what they do not just like. same with unfriending don't unfriend them for what they like, unfriend them for what they did or said or do.
What I would do if someone writes a post about something that I do not agree with is that I would not get upset and I would notcomment because it might turn into an argument. I would never unfriendly anyone.
I wouldn't unfriend someone for that. It's just what they think about the presidential candidates. I wouldn't take it that seriously either. If they kept posting the stuff about the one I disagree about, I might just hide the comment or post. That way you don't have to unfriend them. You won't have it in you're news feed anymore. I would maybe just chat them and tell them it's getting a little annoying.
i would not block them because its a free country and they can think what they want to think.
I think that's just ridiculous because it could be your best friends that you are arguing with. Some people may joke around with it but that doesn't mean you can't be friends with someone that disagrees with you about choices you make.
no i wouldent delete my friends because they posted something i didnt like i just think its stupid to do that.
No i wouldn't deleate one of my friends on facebook over a political post, I think that just plain stupid!
I think its not right to unfriend someone just because they have a different opinion than you its just stupid your just judging people for what they like its not right to that.
No, i wouldn't because you can still be friends with someone that doesn't agree with you on politics.
I don't think it is right to "unfriend" somebody because you don't agree with a post, and I would never do it. Just because you don't agree with the post, doesn't mean you have to do it. Everyone has their own opinions and as long as everyone respects each other, we shouldn't have an issue with things like this!
No, i wouldn't "unfriend" someone because of that. I would ignore it and if it really bothered me, l would delete the post.
i wouldn't get rid of a friend just because they post something i disagree with
If my friend voted or put on there wall about something to do with politics or who they wanted to win the election i wouldn't unfriend them. Because that's there opinion and you shouldn't unfriend somebody over what there opinion is or what they think.
It is stupid to unfriend someone just for having different political views. It shouldn't matter that you have different political views than your friend. You're friends and that should matter more than something like politics.
Some people may like politics and like to talk about them. But others may think that it is annoying and be irritated if you talk about them on a social media site.
Yes i like to hear what my friends think. they do not make me mad enough to unfriend someone.
I have got on facebook before to check on post about the debates and sometimes i see post I don't like but i just igore them. Just because they have a differnt opnion you should not dislike them.
No i wouldn't unfriend them because that would be stupid. Why would you unfriend someone over something so small and so stupid. I just don't see any sense in it but that is just my opinion.
I think that whether or not a person posts something, on an a subject you don't agree with, you shouldn't un-friend them.
I think that because social media networks, especially Facebook, people are able to share their opinions and it doesn't matter what others like and don't like. You should be able to express yourself, that's what it's for.
just because people follow someone else does not mean that you should unfreind them, its up to them to make comments about Obama or Romney you should not get angry at them for not liking the same person you do.
I wouldn't unfriend somebody from Facebook if they made a political post about what they think and a couple reasons but if there being offensive to the other political view I probably would because everybody's got different view of everything in the world.
Would you divorce your wife if you liked one thing and you liked the other.
I would if they were calling them stupid or being raciest.
Would you ever brake up a best friend ship with someone else or divorce your wife or husband if they liked something that you didn't i would just let them decide what they want to do because not everybody likes all of the same things
personally i can care less about the politics but, i dont care what anybody thinks about politics. i know who i want to win and i have my reasons . if i see things my friends post on facebook about the campaign .i wont unfriend them. its their opinion about something and i respect it. thats like having a friend tal about justin bieber to much i wont care or unfriend them because of how they feel
No I wouldn't "unfriend" someone just because they voiced their opinion we have the freedom of speech and the first admendment protects that.
I think people should not remove friends on facebook. Some people might not like it but the should just ignore the post and go on. If someone says something bad they should say hey i dont like this post or they should go one. People dont neeed to be posting bad thing on the internet anyways.
No, I dont like hearing different political opinions that my friends pos on social media. Mainly because it starts trouble between them and other people. Yes different political opinions make me mad. Only because they say bad things bad things about the president even though its not true. I would not block the post or unfriend them because it is'nt that serious. They will always be my friend just with little differences
I think that the people should get along on facebook we should not people should keep there opinions to thereselves we should egnore the post, not tell the people of our country who to vote for they should have a right also.
Yes I do like hearing different political opinions on my friends social media. Sometimes these post make me made to make me hide their post. the reason is because they post mean stuff on their social media. Another reason is because when my friends post mean stuff on their social media that makes me mad and wants me want to hide their post.
I think that why take them off it just a diffrents. We are all uniqie and so not all people agree and they start takeing them off in a soical network.
Karen Califa should not be afraid to be unfriended on facebook. Because she thinks there hiding there post or not even wanting to tell the truth on there post. She is scared that she want have very many friends.
The election gets everybody fired up about their beliefs. When they post things on facebook/twitter and other people dislike what they say, they retort what they say with their own firey argument. Even if they are good friends in real life, they argue a lot over social media. This can end friendships over social media AND in real life. If a friend of mine posted something that I didn't agree with, I just ignore it. It's not worth getting fired up about.
I wouldn't unfriend them, I would just ignore. It's better to keep a firm relationship even if it comes to disagreeing with politics; a friend is a real friend if he doesn't unfriend someone on disagreements.
The posts wouldn't make me mad. I would like to know their thoughts on the election. It's nice to know someone's opinion.
Personally, It doesnt bother me on who votes for who. Nothing will change my mind on who I am voting for. I just ignore them. Yeah there will be some over the top posts but I wont unfriend someone for posting their opinion, that is just way too much.
I think people need to stop getting so aggressive on their opinions about politics. If one your friends thinks differently, then let them be. I think it's silly to dislike somebody just because of their opinions.
Just because somebody has their own opinion doesn't mean they are bad people. People these days often are fought at or argued with just because of their own choices they make on politics
I think it is very rude and disrespectful to unfriend somebody just because of a choice they make in politics. Our society needs to start thinking more before they act.
Is it really worth de-friending somebody just because they have different views on politics? To me, that is rude and a little mean. Everybody has a right to their own opinion.
People are allowed to stand up for what they believe in. Nobody should be putting them down and fighting against their opinion. It is very rude to de-friend or dislike somebody because they believe in something different.
I'm not on Facebook so I don't all the things happening but UN-friend someone is to me out raggedest for me. So some one can say what they what. It's in the contusion!!!
if you are mad enough to unfriend one of the people that you are friends with that goes on to show that you are not a good friend.
No, because people all have their own thoughts, and it will all be well after the election.
I would just ignore them, because they have to go away sometime. Also, unfriending someone just because of politics, really is uncalled for.
No, I think that you should be able to post your thoughts without being unfriended. We have the right to say what we think and friends should be kind to each other even if they don't agree.
I would just ignore the posts because people can have different opinions from their friends, but it should not get in the way of a friendship.
No, I don't like seeing that. It takes up space and overlaps other important things
I'm middle school and me and my friends were at the lunch table and began to talk about the presidential debate, and the conversation got pretty far and I thought it was interesting hearing about all the different opinions from all of them. So in my mind i would not unfriend someone from facebook, twitter, on instagram because I liked hearing everybody's thoughts. It also helps me hear a different prospective on the election and think of it in a new way.
Well, first of all I don’t have a facebook, so I don't really get the concept of "un friending" someone. Second, I think it’s stupid to not be friends with someone anymore if they don't have the same opinion as you about the 2012 election. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and shouldn't be punished for it. My friend and I don't agree on the same things about the election this year, but we are still friends and are just as close as we always were. The election doesn't affect my friends and me, and it shouldn't affect anyone else. Just like my opinion of this topic is that I don't like the idea of un friending someone of facebook which is caused by the election, everyone is aloud to have opinions like that.
I think that that is just uncalled for to unfriend someone that disagrees with you. That is almost bullying. I think that it is actually kind of fun having little debates with your friends every once in a while, as long as nobody goes too far.
Well, I think it depends on either the person si a true friend or not and how bad it was. I would not.
Friends joke around all the time but sometimes people go too far and sometimes it can offend people. It all depends on how the person stated their political view and who they said it to.
Sometimes in a good life your living some people get mad that your wanting to vote for the person they don't like but you just have to move on and just keep on pushing past the wall of pain
You shouldn't unfriend someone for using freedom of speech. Yet over all you shouldn't publicly post about politics anyway.
I would not delete a friend on facebook due to their political view. I believe that everyone has the right to express their opinions on the election.
I think it is inappropriate to unfriend anyone because of their opinion. People should be allowed to have freedom of speech even if it's on Twitter or Facebook. If you want them to listen to your point of view then you should listen to them. You don't have to change your opinion about the topic. You can still disagree. Just hear them out.
I wouldn't unfriend someone based on their opinion. I would like to know people's opinions on the debates, election, etc.
No, it doesn't bother me at all. Everyone has the right to think what they think. You cant help that but if they doing it I might. I'm not a big fan of Politic.
i dont think it matters if someone unfriends someone because of their posts it is their own decissioin. i also think that if someone wants to they can hide whatever posts they want to its their own decision.
I would never put politics before my friends. My friends do put stuff of Facebook but it doesn't change my opinion on them. People have the right to speech and debate...why be mad at them when I have the same right but I'm not using it?! Unfriending someone because of their political views isn't the best choice.
I don't think people should unfriend others because of politics. It's their opinion.
