We're airing a story on Thursday about a proposed parade for veterans of the Iraq war. You hear some opinions on both sides of the issue - some saying it's needed now and some saying it's not time yet - and we're hoping you'll add your thoughts here.

My friends and i, think that they should not have a parade; because who really knows if the war is over? they could strike back at anytime. But the chances of this or highly unlikely.
I think that the fact that the U.S eliminated Osama Bin Laden is more than enough for a parade for our veterans, despite the fact that a small group of people got the job done. In my mind, had it not been for all of the soldiers that went into the Middle East, Seal Team Six's operation would not have been possible.
I'm a military brat. My dad has never been in Iran or Iraq but I do think they should do a parade; but also in the parade they should recognize those who have died. Where I live their has been a recent death of someone who was serving. I know this affects everyone where they live and we forget how it is for the men and women who have served.
I think there should be a parade they risked their lives for us we should at least give them a parade.
If the people who give entertainment to our country get a parade, then why don't the people that save this country which gives the entertainment?
I think they should have a parade because they deserve it after all the hard work they have done.
they should get a celebration when all the fighting is over.during another war,we shoud not do it untill the war is over
Even though a war is still going on, what about the troups who served in the Iraq war? THey risked their lives. We should pay respect to them. We should aleast open a parade fro them.
i think since they have done an tremendous job in Afghanistan and in Iraq they do deserve a parade!
I think it's totally needed! We hold parades to honor things all the time. So why can't we hold a massive thank you parade for the veterans of the Iraq? They are people that really deserve to be honored.
a parade in Iraq is okay, But i hope they don't fight agian
i think that there should be parade for our veterans because they did so much and put their lives on the line for all of us. That is the least we can do to thank them.
These brave men and women fought to perserve our freedom so I think the parade is a great idea. I say the parade should be soon because if they put it off for later it might never happen.
I think Parades and Iraq veterans is a great idea I think we need to show support to them for all that they have done for us and our country
i think tht people should have a parade for our military if theycan go out and serve for our country and sacrfice thier lives then the least we can do is give them a parade to show how much we appreciate fr what they do for us.
I think that we should have a parade for veterans. They served our country and deserve a better thanks than a "thank you." I don't see the reason not to.
Everybody needs to have celebrations once in a while – even adults. We should have large parades, but we don't need to overdo it.
If they should throw a parade, throw it when the fighting has stopped. If they throw it before thats taking other soldiers out of the picture.
I think that we should hold a parade for all the veterans coming back from the Iraq war. If I fought for my country and risked my life for it, I would want a parade. I personally don't think it's too early to have a parade, but if military leaders from the pentagon say we should wait, i guess they know what they're talking about.
I think a parade in Iraq is a good idea because when the parade goes on the people might see husbands, moms, dads, wives. When they see them they will like to see their family members again.
I think that the Veterans are more important than the super bowl winners. The Iraq vetrerans should be the ones that we honor instead of the insecure super bowl champs. (the giants). This team won a silly little sport. Unlike the Iraq Veterans who RISKED!!!! their lives for their country and others. The veterans should get the parade not the football team.
IT IS ALWAYS TIME FOR A PARADE!!! And even if didn't/ don't win we will celebrate soldiers risking their lives for our country. We need to show the younger generations that soldiers save lives and kids LOVE parades. So parade it up! 🙂
I think they should have a parade because they fought hard and some died. it would be a great thing to do for are freedom defenders
That is unfair, because they had fought for us for ten years and now that war is over and they get a parade to show them that we say thank you for fight that is unfar.
I think this would be great because , we need too give love to the veterans who fought for our country so big ups to them , because if it wasnt for them we would probably still have inturders coming in to try to take our goods
I believe that we should celebrate the troops coming home instead of focusing on the giants victory and Tom Brady s wife I don't understand why the troops aren't more important than a victory of the super bowl yea it is important but not as important as our troops coming home after fighting for our country!!!!
I say that is would be best to honor the war veterans because if the Giants had a parade just for winning the Superbowl than the Iraq Veterans should be way more important or else we would be having parades for people who have done smaller deeds
I think it is a good idea but not the right time. Veterans deserve a parade when they are back home so they feel welcome. We just need to get all veterans back home first and that's important.
i think that the troops should have a parade when they come home it shows them how thankfull we are to have them fighting for our freedom. they do so much for us i think we could at least do a little for them. they deserve it.
it would be cool to see as soon as possible ,but they can wait till all the soldiers get home.
I think that they should have a national parade for Iraq veterans. They deserve to know how much we appreciate them for what they do for our country!!
I thank yes they shoud because the veterans did a lot for the U.S.A they also went over there for a long time.
I think they should get a parade. They deserve it because their fighting for us and risking their lives. But yet, they don't get one simple gesture of appreciation. What I think is funny is that the silly Gaints get a parade for winning one silly game and our vetrans don't? that upsets me and probally many others.
I think after so many years spent fighting for our safety and the safety of others that the veterans should be recognized through parades. We have to think about what life would be like without these brave men and women.
I think they deserve a parade for all the hard work they did for us and how they're risking their lives for us. They deserve a parade !!
As so if itsne as all the veterans come home there should be a parade, but if the wars go on for another year the U.S. should have a parade in Washington and New York City on novenber 11th just to show that we care more about them that the Super Bowl.
I think that Iraq veterans should be rewarded because they risked their lives for their country it is the least that should be done.
I think there should be a parade for Iraq veterans because they served our country and we should have s special way of saying thank you. I there's a parade for the team who won the Stanley Cup, there should definitely be a parade for veterans.
I don't think America should spend money on a big parade right now considering all the debt it already has. I don't think quitting a war is considered winning. I think the parade would be fine if we had the money but we just don't.
Some people look up to sports players as heros. Others look up to war veterans. If the Super Bowl winners get a parade, shouldn't those who have been serving away from their families get a parade too?
I think it should be needed now because if you think about it clearly, you'll see that the veterans that serve the world's purpose really mean something to us. I mean, hasn't a veteran done something for us? I think we should do the right thing and repay the favor for them. Overall, veterans do mean something to this world.
I think that veterines should have a celebration for them of what they did for our country. Idefinetly agree!
I think there should be a parade to honor our verterans of the Iraq war. I think any war that we have had, we should honor our veterans for that war. After all they did risk their lives for our country!
Well i think that it is in protent that the U.S. thanks the U.S. veterans that where in the Iraq for there hard work.
I think Iraqi veterans deserve a parade for all their hardwork overseas, but you also have to consider the fact that there is still a lot of civil unrestin the middle east. I think we should have the parade a little later just to make sure that we aren't celebrating too early. Maybe by Memorial day we will be out of the war for sure and ready to celebrate.
A parade can wait. Money is tight and bringing on a parade takes money and time. However, even if it was decided that the Iraq Veterans were getting their parade they might as well wait till Veterans day since that seems like the most appropriate time.
i think that they should have a chance to have a parade, maybe they should just wait for a while.. you know, let the fighting in Iraq settle down a little bit more
I think it's a great idea for parades for Iraq veterans, and we should have the parades everywhere else where the vetrans live.
Iraq is still unstable and it is wrong for us to call it a mission accomplish if it's not accomplished. We should honor the veterans but not untill the jobs finished and Iraq has a stable government once again.
I think that we should. If a stupid, silly game gets a parade why can't the veterans? But also didn't we make Memorial day and Veterans day? Still have a parade
I think that if the Super Bowl champs get a parade just because it's a sport, then our Iraq veterans should get a parade as well.
I think we should have a parade for Iraq veterans because they risk their lives for us so I think that would be like a gift!
I think that its a great way to honer own Veterans...
I really think we should give these men and women a parade. They where oveer their fighting for their lives so yea we chould.
(Just a thought)
I think they should have the parade because it celebrates our troops and what they do to protect us. It also shows them that the world appreciates what they do fighting for our country the United States.
I think they should not do a parade for the Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan until we win the War on Terror. I think that because we pulled out of Iraq we did not win there. We're still in Afghanistan, so there's a chance to win overall. We already have small parades when Soldiers come home and memorial services when our Soldiers are killed or when they die. The families appreciate those small parades. A big parade doesn't mean anything unless it's a celebration of victory, and not pulling out. Pulling out is like retreat and that is different from victory.
I think they should have a parade to show how much we care and appreciate all that the veterans and other families with people in the military have done serving our country. I feel like we owe it to them to have a parade to let them take a break and be with their families too.
I think its great that they want to celebrate our service men and women, but you have to think is a 5 minuet parade worth the tax payers money?
Yes, there should be a parade for the Iraq Veterans.
a parade would be necessary because of all the hard work they do. it would show respect to those with parents in the military and it shows we care for our country. i am "armed" with disgust that they haven't already done a parade.
Yes, there should be a parade, but now isn't the right time. A parade on a scale like that would cost a lot of money that the government simply does not have. Also with the war in Iraq it's nearly impossible to tell if we are winning or losing and it would be a serious "oops" moment if we had the parade and it turns out we lost. However smaller towns and cities shoujdl host their own parades but overall America just needs to wait.
I think that we should give the veterans a parade because it is good to tell them that they are praised for all their hardwork, if not then all the years they spent fighting in Iraq will be worth nothing. Like curing cancer and not rewarded.
Hi, my name is Rebekah and I am representing by Honors World History class for a possible feature in an addition of CNN student news. In the beginning of class for current events, my teacher typically lets us watch 5-10 minutes of CNN Student News. On Thursday of this week, my class viewed the Parades and Iraq Veterans segment of the show. Wanting us to voice our opinions, my teacher allowed for an informal debate on the matter, due to the fact that our school has connections with a lot of students from military families. The vast majority of our class said yes, there needs to be a parade for our vets now. However, there were three students who disagreed with the parade concept. At first, I was shocked that anyone would want to deny our veterans the honor they deserve for fighting for our country; however, after listening to their opinions on the matter, I could see where they were coming from. Each student expressed a want for the parade; however, points were made about the lack of money in our economy and waiting for all the troops to return. After considering the cons of the parade being thrown now, another student patiently raised their hand and suggested local parades for the returning troops. Instead of doing things on a national level, each state with returning troops could throw the parade to make things more intimate. Thus, every soldier would be honored in a parade. I personally think this is a splendid idea. In my opinion, throwing a parade is the least we can do for the courageous men and women who risk their lives every day to keep this country safe. As a child from a military family, I know what it's like to wake up every day and wonder whether or not your parent overseas is safe; I can say with complete confidence, it is the worst feeling in the world.
I remember as a young child, whenever I was asked what my father did for a living, I would proudly proclaim that my daddy was a U.S. soldier. To this day, I could not be more proud of my father. Although he may get under my skin sometimes, and I may think he's being unfair or just outright mean, I am very proud of my father. He is my hero. Unfortunately, my father has had to experience things that no man should ever have to experience in his lifetime. I believe his strength and courage needs to be honored along with the strength and courage of every other soldier in the U.S. military. Fighting overseas is not the glamorous task Hollywood makes it out to be; there is real loss, real hurt, and real danger. As I mentioned before, throwing local parades for our veterans is the very minimum we could do to help show our appreciation for these valiant men. Consider the following, without our soldiers, where would our country be?
I think there should be a parade because the men & women of our armed forces served in Iraq for our freedom.
I think that when you have a parade for something like a war celebrating that you got a victory its like taunting the other person or like dancing when you get a touchdown in football
i THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE ONE FOR WHAT THEY DID TO SAVE OUR COUNTRY AND ALL THEY DID HOPE THEY HAVE A PARADE
I personaly don't think it's right that the government prepares a parade for the New York Giants and not a parade for the Iraq veterans. Well sure the Giants won the super bowl, but the veterans that fought in Iraq won something way better, which was the war in Iraq and something called peace and freedom. If the government thinks winning the super bowl is more important than winng peace and freedom for this country, than they might need to think again. If the Iraq veterans weren't over there fighting for this country, Iraq could have been marching over here to take over this great country! But that didn't happen because our U.S. citizens volenteered to defend this country and risked thier lives, families, and memories to show thier appriciation for thier own country and what did they do, they won the war!!!!!!!!
I think if Iraq veterans worked hard to defend their nation and abandon their family, they should deserve as much respect as U.S. soldier.
I think they should wait a little longer until the war is completely over, because its not really fair for the others still an iraq fighting or waiting to come home.
I think that they should get a parade. The have risked their lives to protect us and their country.
I think we should wait to have a parade until all of the troops are home so everyone can celebrate with their family
This country needs to respect every last one of them that were in the war because they gave there lives for us so the government needs to at least give them a parrade and help out the ones that have disabilities. Now the rest of their lives may be affected because of a road side bomb. Our government needs to help the ones here first. Lets throw a huge parade with giant floats and let any of the vets in it.
I think that someone should ask the war veterans and see if they want a parade because maybe they just want to go home and spend time with their families and friends. So maybe someone should ask most of them and see if they want one and if they do want one I think that they more than deserve it.
If the Iraq war is over, we NEED to recognize and support those veterans. The war in Afghanistan is a different war. When our troops are finished there, we need to have another ceremony then. The tragedy of the Vietnam War CANNOT happen again. Our soldiers make tremendous sacrifices for all of us and we owe it to them to recognize those sacrifices. We have grown up seeing the slogan "Support our troops" and yet when it comes time recognize them we hesitate and make excuses. They didn't make excuses when it came time to fight and now is not the time for us to.
I think Iraq war veterans should get a parade. They deserve that recognition. They fight for our freedom, the least we could do is recognize them by having a big parade for them.
There should be no question to whether the parade should be held or not. Iraq Veterans have fought for us and deserve a parade at the least. Let's show some proper respect and start building some floats!
I feel that a parade would be a very respectable motion. I think that the veterans would highly respect a physical motion than the typical vocal motion that everybody does.
I think they should go a head and do the parade because for one we have killed the person we were after so we have already won.I also think it would be cool if they could somehow do a parade in each state.
There should be a parade for veterans of the Iraq war. The veterans deserve a parade even more than the Super Bowl winners. The Giants had a parade right after the Super Bowl so why wait so long on a parade for people who risked their lives for us.
I think that the veterans from Iraq should get a parade, but not until all of them are home and safe with their families. The veterans should have a parade because they do so much for the United States.
After what the Iraq veterans did they deserve some sort of recognition and reward for fighting for their country. Too many times we celebrate small accomplishments.
I think it would be great to have a parade. It would cheer up the veterans and lighten the mood. What's wrong with it?
I believe there should be a parade for Iraq veterans now, then when the Afghanistan veterans come home, we have a parade for their coming.
I think that there should be a parade for Iraq veterans because they risked their lives for us and they desreve to be recognized
It would be a great idea to have a parade to honor the returning veterans of Iraq. If the Superbowl gets a parade, so should those who risk and sacrifice their lives for our country.
I think we should not propose a parade until we know war is officially over
I happen to think that these Veterans deserve a lot more praise than what they are settling for. Winning the super bowl should never have a bigger celebration than the arrival of war veterans, that risked their life protecting Americans. Besides that, we do need some time before a parade becomes a reality because we haven't really declared a victor of the Iraq war, yet.
I defiantly think you should have a parade. These men and women are very brave. They have the guts to go over to Iraq even if they might get killed. There shouldn't really be any debate about it. If these people risk their lives for their country, they should be honored with a parade when they come home.
I believe that we should have a parade honoring Iraq war veterans. They served in the war, and should be honored. It wouldn't be fair to the Iraq veterans if they can't have a parade, but SuperBowl winners do.
I think that we should wait until all the wars are over before we celebrate. This would be like the Pax Romana which is a long time of peace during the Roman Empire.
it is time for the proposed parade because it is over and if you don't do the parade they will think that we don't care anymore witch i do cause i like my freedom.
In my opinion I think they shouldnt even have to think about having a parade it should be mandatory. Its rediculas that they will throw a parade for the Giants but they wont throw one for the people who risked there lives and the people who did die! If it wasn't for them and people on the past in the Millitary you wouldnt be able to play that football game so people need to appreciate thinggs more. Its my dream to join the Army and be a Sapper but I'm not sure i want to if my life being put on the line is worth it to anyone.
Thank You, Autumn
I think it's not time yet since, as the news said, the Afghanistan war hasn't ended yet. I think it doesn't make sense to have parade and having fun while the soilders and troops are suffering with pain and fear against the war. If the war endes and people return from the war and do the parade there would be more happiness appeared because their concerns are disappeared.
why just the people who went to iraq let have all the army men have a parades even let the afghastin army and people from WW2 every army help sever our land.
I think that we should have a National parade for our returning soldiers. The fact that our own government won't celebrate our heroes who protect this country just because they think it may be a pre-mature celebration is just plain sad and wrong. America seems to have forgotten just what it is that the men and women in the United States Army, Marines, Air Force and everything else are sacrificing just to keep us safe. They've lost husbands, wives, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters and best friends in the war and when they come home their government refuses to even give a celebration of thanks!
I think our troops should have a chance to be more known because they are the people that fight for us.
I think they should have a parade. i think we shouldn't do it until we get completely out of iraq. because if some of the soldiers are still in iraq and die then we should honor them too. I think we should wait till we are all out of iraq.
I think its a great idea to have a parade for the Iraq veterans. It may not be a perfect time but sometime in the future would be a great way to show that we appreciate what they have done for our country
I think it would be a great idea to have a parade because we have people back from Iraq, fighting for our country. I believe since we live in America, and we are good people, a parade for our Iraq Veterans. They served this amazing country and we should give them a little credit.
I think they should have parades for all vet.'s. They risked their lives for us. Who cares if it costs a lot, They payed in blood, we can pay in money....
I think we should at least have a parade for the men and women over sea's, that's the least we could do for them. ( GO ARMY)
I Think the goverment should wait until all the troops return home. It doesn't seem right to throw a huge parade for the troops that are home, and not have the others troops home to see it/ be a part of it.
It's not fair that Iraq veterans have to wait to share the spotlight with other veterans. They've done so much for our country, the least we can do is throw a parade for them.
I think that if the Giants, can get a parade why not the veterans of america?Yeah they won the super bowl, but when the country is in attack mode ,can they risk their lives and fight for America's fredom? While the football players are sleeping the veterans are fighting for theirs and others lifes?
I would love to have a parade for the Veterans from Iraq! To me having a parade for them is much more important than having a parade for the Super Bowl players. They fight for our freedom, to keep us safe. My cousin is in Afghanistan and i respect everyone who is or has been in any war! I think a well deserved parade would be an awesome experience for these Veterans!
I think that Iraq war veterans should not get a parade yet, because some troops are still stationed in Iraq.
no because imagine if your family member died the day after the parade. how would you feel?
Although there are a bunch of troops stationed in Iraq, I think it is citizenly to honor those who served for our country. If sports stars get parades and prizes, trophies and rings, then I think that our veterans should be honored as well.
I think we shoudl have the parade but after everyone is back from Iraq
I think that it is right to have the parade because those people go out and risk their lives fighting the Iraqis and then come home and don’t get nationally celebrated. However, a parade like that would be expensive and with the vets from Afghanistan potentially coming home soon it might be better to have a collective parade later which is would be cheaper, but if the war doesn’t end in Afghanistan then the vets will have waited longer.
i think we should because it would be great to see them
i don't think we should because even though it would be great we need them to be focused to keep us safe
In my opinion it should be able to wait to honor these Iraq veterans. People have lost lives and it would be a rush to do it now. Since the last of people have came back from Iraq we need to give it another month. In respect of the people so to speak.
i think we should have a parade for the veterans because they are the ones who fight for are country
Well I think that they r fighting for our countery so we should be proud of them
I think if your going to have a parade for one party of people, than you cannot tell the others that have done the same "No". You should be fair to all who have done such good enough for a parade. When you tell one person no, you have to tell the rest no. If you let one person have a parade, you have to let the rest have a parade, it's just how it works.
i think that thay shod get a praide
I think that Iraq veterans definitely deserve a celebration, however a national parade wouldn't be as meaningful when there are still soldiers fighting for us in other countries.
Why hold a parade when not all of our soldiers are home?
I think there should be a parade because the U.S. Soldiers served in Iraq for 8 years and now they have come back.I think we should reward them with a parade and a thank you.
I think we should have a parade now! These men and women fought in Iraq for us and diserve our thanks. What is wrong with a parade to honor the men and women who fought or died in the war??????
I think that it is not a matter of now or later, but rather if adults should have this parade. I believe ,no matter the age, everyone needs to have a celebration and having a parade should not be a threat to other countries.
I totally agree with what your saying.
I think that we should have a parade for our veterans, just not at the moment. I think this because not all of our veterans are home from war yet. So I personally think its only fair that we have a parade when all of the veterans are home. Whats the point in having one for the veterans that are home, then having to have another one like maybe a week later because we didnt have a parade when all of the veterans were home. That just makes no scence
That is not right they should have a parade, they have fought for ten years and the war is over and don't get a parade to show them thank you for fighting for our country, that is not right.
i dont think its fair i think we should all be treted equaly and we should be fair to others
I believe that the Iraq veterans should have a parade. They served our country with courage and patriotism and we need to show respect. Some lost body parts to defend people like you and me. I would be very disappointed if our people didn't appreciate the people that risk their lives for us enough for a parade. The at least deserve that.
I believe that we should have a parade for the veterans of Iraq. But we should do this once all of our troops are out so they can take part.
I think it would be a great idea to have a parade for the veterans of the Iraq war because they have done a lot of hard work and deserve one. It might cost a lot of money but it wouldn't hurt to do a good thing for our society.
I am happy for the people in Iraq becuase their families will be able to see them alive and happy.
I think that having a parade for Iraq veterans would be great, but if they do that everyone will be asking for a parade
I think there should be a parade because even if the wars aren't over yet they still deserve the respect. Think of all they have done for us! They should get a parade at the very least. If you were one of the soliders... people who have seen blood and death of friends and innocent people, you would want to have someone honnor what you were doing for them. Do you think they get anything out of war? Not as much as we do. The soliders deserve a parade for themselves.
I think it's good idea because I think we don't thank veterans enough for what they do and with a parade that would make them feel loved and appreciative for all they do.
I think that the parade is uncalled for, considering that it wasn't really a war.
I agree that it's not time yet to hold parades. Parades will imply that the Iraq War was a victory for Americans, but that's not necessarily true. It's a controversial topic, like Thursday's episode mentioned, and to hold a parade now would only bring about more controversy. However, a parade to celebrate – not the American "victory" but – the returning of American veterans might be appropriate. I imagine that some veterans would feel under-appreciated after months or years of putting their lives at risk for the country. The soldiers didn't decide that there was going to be a war; the government declared war. The soldiers offered themselves up to the government as their tools, and it wouldn't be too much to ask that the government shows their gratitude and honours their service with a parade. It doesn't have to be an up-scale, expensive parade. Any parade will do.
I believe we should honor the war heroes everyday however I don't think now would be the appropriate time to celebrate since people are still out there fighting for this country. Once we put an end to the war we should have the parade with everybody and celebrate the coming back of everyone.
I think it is right to have a parade for veterans of the Iraq war because they risked their lives for our country's safety. We must honour them like we would want to be treated.
i think it good to be save by the army. They save our countrys and to be safe. So it good to sevred in the army to help countrys around the world.
I think it’s a good idea to have a parade for the Iraq veterans because they serve our country and risk our lives for us and it’s time to do something nice for them so show how much America cares about the Iraq veterans. By having a parade for the veterans shows that the people that are not in the military they care that people want to do the parade for the veterans. They serve our country and they risk their lives for us and I think the people are very happy that there having a parade of honoring the veterans that serve our country proud.
i think they should do a parade for the veterans from the Iraq war
we need to show how much we care for our troops( troops going and coming back)
i hope they do the Parades for them SO bad!!!!!!
i think there should be a parade for Iraq Veterans. Veterans need to be more honored.
Every Veteran should be honered in a way. Even though we don't throw a parade for every Veteran needs to be acknoledge for what they have done for our country. So I say that even though not everyone was honered they need to be thanked.
If the New York Giants deserve a Super Bowl Champions parade then in my opinion, the 1 million Iraq veterans who found every ounce of courage and put their lives on the front line do too. If a football team gets to walk down a main street and be acknowledge for throwing a football around and entertaining people for four hours then Iraq veterans still with us or passed, deserve to be acknowledge for their job well done saving lives. A national level parade for returning vets is in no way in my opinion premature, as Pentagon officials call it. It’s a recognition and a chance to say “thank you” to America’s REAL heroes; the ones who wear the dog tags.
I think Iraq Veterans deserve a parade because how can the New York Giants get such a big deal about an hour of the Super Bowl when american troops have been fighting for years of brutal combat which took intense training.
I think that the Iraq veterans do deserve a parade. If a baseball or football team wins a championship, they get a parade. It is important to give alot of recognition to these people who have been close to death. I really want to see a parade for the Iraq veterans, people who are true heroes.
All veterans should be honered in any sort of way you can even if you are poor just thank for keeping us safe. I am very proud of all out veterans.
Yes, because if they have a parade for football players and not for our veterans, there is something wrong.
They should have a giant parade when all the troops are home from all the countrys.
I believe that parades for our troops of Iraq are important for them. All the troops need to know that they are home now and can get back to “civilian life”. They had to go a year or more with limited contact with their family and getting shot at on a daily basis. They deserve some sort of acknowledgement for dealing with that. The least we could do is show the troops that we appreciate their service and sacrifice for us. They need to get the parade going now, because I feel that if they wait then it will never happen.
I believe that it would be good to have something that celebrates what our troops have done for us. There is good and bad out of this though. If we show that we are celebrating in a big fashion that might make other countries want to attack us more. On the opposite side it would be a good thing because the veterans need to know that we think of them and still thank them for everything that have done and still are doing today. Our troops do a lot of work with very little thanks most times out of ten.
I think we should have a parade for our iraq veterans they desvere it they do so much for us why not we do something good for them like a parade but not for the people that are back here in America after the war it should also be for the ones still there in Iraq I thunk everyone in Iraq desveres a parde or something really nice for them. Give them a parade!!!!!!!
My dad was in Iraq when I was younger. The things that these soldiers go through when they're over there deserve some recognition and they all need a standing ovation.
I am all for supporting our troops but I believe we shouldn't throw parades for our Troops .You ask our troops if they deserve a parade and they will say no. They will say their buddy who didn't make it back home deserves the credit not them. I believe we should still honor our troops just not throw parades for them.
I do agree about how the troop feel, but they do deserve to have a parade thrown for them.
WE should have a parade for the vets but not yet. Wait until we know almost all the vets are back.
They have to earn that parade they don't need to ask and they have to do the parade when every man and women comes to there homes
I think the iraq veterans should get a parade, 1 because they dedicated there work to protect us so we should give something back in return.
I think that having a parade for the vets is not the best idea taking in to consternation the fact that they lost friends and /or family in the war so set up a memorial for all the living and dead vets
Yes, because these veterans risked their lives for our country and the least they should get is a parade, right?
I think we should have many parades, but wait until there isn’t a war going on. Allow everyone to be home and be able to take part in them. I also think we should include the old veterans the new soldiers and the ones who never made it home or even just the veterans that died after war and not during. Anyone who has been in that experience. It's only fair for everyone and its the right thing to do to show we care.
I think we should throw a parade because we should acknowledge their courage willing to protect our country plus it would be fun too.
Yes have a parade for them they did good stuff for are country.
I think that since veterans do so much for us, we should throw parades for them. If they hadn`t fought for our freedom we wouldn`t be here right now. I think we should thank them by throwing a parade.
I think they should have a parade because they deserve it more then a football team! They are more important! Give them the parade!
I think we should give both a parade but I think most of the money for both of them should go more to the Army. My dad was in the Army for seven years so I think more people should go to the Army parade then the Super Bowl parade.
All that hard work in iraq give them a parade.
I have a father in the military and I think that he would tell the U.S. government "NO." Some Iraq veterans would say "sure.I don't care" or for others" I'm not concerned whether or not you do have a parade." If the government does decide to have a parade, it will be just fine, but they will be wasting time and money because the veterans don't exactly care.
I believe we should honor our troops but when all of them could be there,I also think that we should have a memorial for those who have died in Iraq because that is a good way to honor those who have died for our country and it would give their families something that shows that their relative died for a good reason.
I think we should have a parade for Iraq veterens, because they were willing to give their lives for thier country. Also a parade would help make people who love thier country join the milatary. These veterens should also have a parade because this might make the goverment do this fo all veterens
I think there should be a parade for the Iraq veterans because they had some hard times so they should be honored for what they did for us. I appreciate what the veterans did for us for helping our country so in my opinion i think the veterans should have a big parade for them.
i dont think we need to do a parade because my grandpa was in the vietnam war and he doesnt think a parade is necassary...... but he does think the people that died and the people he had to kill because they were injured should be honored because they risked their livess for their people.............
I think that a parade would be great but also, it could be a little too early. I'm not sure, I'm on both sides I suppose. Having a parade might make them feel appreciated and proud that they went, but also the parade might make them feel rueful because some people say they should have stayed longer. Either would make a great impact, and I honestly don't know which would be better. I don't reallly have an actual opinion at the moment, but I know that our troops would be glad either way, on the matter of fact, and their own personal thought and opinion. We should pay our respects and honor to the men and women who spent such a long time risking themselves for one single cause. That's just my thinking. Someone else might have different reasonings.
I think that there should be a parade because the vetarens have done so much for us.I also think that alot of people want to see a parade because they will get to see vetrens. Also I think some of the vetrens will get to see their famialys and they will like it because they have not ben able to see their famlies in a long time.
Yes i think we should throw parades for Iraq because of their hard work and when we throw a parade they might feel really encouraged and supported. Some veterans may refuse but they might not want to admit it and we know they want one.I also think if we throw a parade for veterans we show how appreciative we are of their protection and hard work and that we miss them.
I have a father who is in the military. If asked if the government should throw a parade, he would most likely say "No." Iraq veterans are veterans because they cared for their country. Some veterans might say" sure. I don't care." or " It doesn't matter to me whether we do have a parade or not." I believe that the U.S. government can throw a parade, but it would be a waste of time and money because the Iraq veterans don't care.
i think that vetrans shoould have a parade to show all ther honer apption for this contry . i think that the vetrans are the braest people they deseve a parade.thatsmy opion for the vetrans
I thnk we sould have parades for all Iraq veterans to oner and thank them.I also think we should becouse they put there lives on the line. They also purvide the country.
I think we should throw a parade for our troops because they do so much for us and we should have a memorial for all of the ones that have gave their lives to fight for our country. The men and women who are in all of those battles for our country deserve a parade. Some of them have lost their best friends even brothers or sisters.
No i think that we should not selabrate because are men have killed manny.I think that we need to just not fight because it would be better if we do not fight. If we fight with ather conterys we will just all die because we will send all are troops into a deth batle what happens when we loose we will have no homes?
I think we should have parade for the Veterns because they have done alot for countries. Also they risked there live for us people. That's why I think we should have a paraed.
no we should not selebrate because are men have killled manny! I think we should stop all the fighting before it is too late. What happens when are men grow tired and we loose we will not be the USA.We will no longer be free we will loose are homes and mabe even be slaves to a new person!
We throw parades for sporting events all the time. Why couldn't we respect the ones who die for our country and throw them a parade?
If you ask me we should reward those who have given their time with their families and should give them a parede of all the sacrifices they given especially to those that made the ultimate sacrifice.
I believe that having a parade for our veterans is a very smart idea but I think it is to early. Not all of our American troops came back home. Once every troop comes back home and settles in with their family again, that is the time to have a parade for our country's heroes.
Even though I don't have any of my family in the army, we should support our Troops who've been fighting for us by throwing them a parade for those who died and that are fighting right now. Our Troops deserve it because, they do more than we do in everyday life by keeping us safe, even though we really don't know them.
I think there should definitly be a parade for Iraq veterans eventually. There are parades for all sorts of things rose parades, parades for Puerto Ricans, mermaid parades Hispanic day parades,German American day parades etc. Why not have a parade for the people have actually risked their lives and gone out to Iraq knowing they might not come back.
Yea i think we should but wait for all the Veterans to come back so they can get honored too.
Our veterans have done a great thing for America. They deserve a parade. Honor those who risked their lives for our country and those who died for our country. A parade would do just that! All over the news, all over the counrty, a great way to show our thanks to our troops who were out there. We need to celebrate; our guys got home. We need to mourn; these men died for our country,
There's really no question about it. Thousands on veterans gave their lives in Iraq, I believe we should honor those veterans who gave their lives for our country.
I think we should have a parade when all the troops come home and the war is over. Pulling out now would show that we are letting are guard down.
I think that the war veterans deserve a parade more then the Super Bowl winners, if it weren't for the soldiers fighting, there wouldn't be a super bowl.
I think that they should throw a parade because of all the fighting they do for our country. They should throw a parade even though we are in debt crisis because it honers our troops for what they do
I think we should have parades for our Iraq vets baecuse they have defended and kept our country free and strong. They show pride to us be defending our country so i think we need to recognize them for what they have done for us over years. By having parades it symbolizes our freedom that our Iraq vets have given us because if they didnt put their lives at risk then we couldn't have freedom to have parades for our Iraq vets. The Iraq vets need to be recognized some how other then we support our troops they need to be recognized by something they work for and thats freedom and we earn the from iraq vets.
I love parades and I think it is great to hounor the troops that have been to afganistan. They put there lives on the line there is no respawn like in call of duty MW3
I'm all for throwing parades for our troops. They have definitely earned it. I think this will give our soldiers a very welcoming return. We want to make them as happy as possible. After all, they helped us. We should give them a little something in return.
I think sould get a parade, their our veterians and we sould honor them form what the did in Iraq.
I think we should have parades for our Iraq veterans. Not only did they put there lives at danger but they were away from there family for many years. America is free and it wouldnt be that way if it wernt for our vets that are strong and brave. A parade is just a little way to thank them for all they have done for us.
i think they should get a parade because we need to show our veterians that we care and appretiate what the have done (:
I think there should be a parade but just not now because it is too soon all of the widows and children remembering there mother or father that died fighting for this war would even agree with me that it is too soon.
I think that it is a good idea becauseit every bodys dream and i dont because they will waste alot of money
we should defiantly have a parade I mean many people have lost there life during war so we should reward the ones that came back
we should defiantly have a parade I mean many people have lost there life during war so we should reward the ones that came back they should honer them when they come back but all the Venetians should be back when we have it
We should really wait for them to get back, and we should do it. They have lost lives and limbs and they deserve something as simple as a parade. It is sad that anyone is even doubting that!
I am a patriot, but a parade would make people think of victory and were far from it. I people get their hopes up and find out that its not so, there'll be plenty of fussing about it later
My older brother was stationed in Iraq, and when he got home safely, i cant even describe how happy i was. I know that hundreds of families felt the same way when they're Veterans walked in through the door. I am all for our Veterans getting a parade, and i think that any Veteran, no matter his/her age, should be able to walk in it.
The soldiers who are out risking their lives everyday for the good of Americans, deserve every act of kindness we can give them. A parade is the least we can do, regardless of what others may think. Not every nation every agrees with every decision and that's the way it is.
I think it would be good because we give parades to the packers if they win the superboll, so why not do a parad to the veterans they help us/save us!
I think they should have a parade to show the people who served and lost their lives for us she be remembered, plus it is a good way to sow patritism.
Why should this be a question. We need a parade to honor the soldiers that came out of war, because if we don't, we would be dishonoring the work they have done, the things they have seen, and the pain they have gone through. Why should we question honor? I just hope they wait until the Afghanistan troops come back.
We should they deserve it and there will be no point when all the veterans will be home there will always be WAR.
The soldiers do deserve a parade for their efforts, however, Iraq was falsely accused of developing nuclear weapons and many innocent Iraqis were killed in the fighting.
i think the veterans should get a parade, just maybe not right now. they should probably wait for the other veterans to come home. they should still have a parade, though. the soldiers did not hesitate to fight for the country that they love, OUR country, so i don't think that it is right that we hesitate to celebrate their bravery and loyalty to our country.
I think we should have a parade when the war is over and everybody gets to feel honerd
i think they they should both be in the parade because they both risked their lives to fight. that is not fair if we don't celebrate for iraq.
I don't think we should have a parade right now because the Iraq government needs to get stronger for them to defend them selfs. Then when they come home then they really desurve it. 🙂
I think every body should honor them because they fought for us and kept us alive through all good and bad.
From a third-person standpoint, totally stepping away from the whole "fair and unfair" issue, any local groups wanting to do something to celebrate have every right to (hint: it's in the Bill of Rights). Any big events should be planned after all of our troops have come home. Celebrate as much as you want, just make sure that everyone who deserves a cheer is there for one.
