The U.S. presidential election is certain to be one of the biggest news stories of the year. And even though many of you aren't old enough to vote yet (though some will be this November), we'd like to get your take on this: Why is it important for young people to follow their country's election process?
Carl Azuz, Anchor
Well, although most people who post on this website aren't old enough to vote, some of us will be moving out of our parent's houses or going into college while the new president is in office. This is important because this can effect our lives as we try to determine how we want our lives to plan out. A bad president of the U.S. can cause financial problems which can cause you to not be able to buy a house, get into a good college, or get a good education, no matter your age.
I believe their is no right or wrong to politics unless it means going against the law, slavery, or segregation. Although I favor Mitt Romney ( Who seems to be a likely candidate for president to me) I think that all the republic candidates have some good ideas. Hopefully whomever we elect has a good plan for Americas future
I think it is very important for young people to follow their country's election process due to the fact that when they grow up, they would also have the choice to vote. Following the election process when people are young would help them greatly and prepare them for the future. This decision would impact the country and this would help young people to know what they expect of their future leaders and know what they do not want for other candidates.
Because it efects us in ways too. It doesn't just efect our parents.
Young people need to know what is going on in the elections because frankly, they just need to be informed. Young people are American citizens too, and we should know who might be our next leader might be,
It is important to follow the election process because when you' re talking to adults you can know what they mean, and you can create a good opinion about the world where you will someday be an adult.
It is important to follow the election process because when you' re talking to adults about politics you can know what they are saying, and it could help you form a knowlegible opinion about the world where you will someday be an adult.
It's important for young people to follow their country's election process because one of the people running for president will be our president in the close future. It would be good to know what their opinions on the government is and what they propose to solve our country's problems. Also, if we later want to run for president, we will know the system of voting and may pick up some tips on how to gain support.
It is important to elect a new president for the United States. What is a habit for children is becomes a habit for adults.
I think because many people want to vote for this person and they think this person they are voting can make grerat things...
I think it is important because it shows you are really like maturing and growing up it is one of those big thing like driving and college it is just one of those this about growing up
People should pay attention so that they can convince others to make the right choice.
i think the government should let young people vote because it would probably lead to a more accurate vote for the state.
They should follow it so they can learn when they get older
it is important to get involved and know about these things because one day is will be us running it all so the sooner we can know it the better
I think it's important for young people to folow their country's election process, because it's a good way of understanding the politics of our country, and also it helps for when in the future when we decide to vote or not, and we know if we are making the right decision.
its important because there the people that are elected will run the country for years to come, also because you talk about it a lot in school and if you have no idea who's being elected it may make it harder to understand what people are talking about.
It is important for young people to follow the election process because they will then know how it works when they are old enough. They will also figure out what the problems are that we need to fix when they can vote. They will then know who they want to vote for and we could get some good presidents.
It's important so we can no whats going on in our country. Also so when we get to the right age we know what to do and how to pick who you want to vote for.
You can't be a kid forever. So kids should follow elections so they know if they like to vote for Democrats or Republicans.
i think that it is important for kids my age to fallow the presidential elections because when you get old enough to vote now we will be able to vote at one time in our life and we need to know what we want to look for in a president.
I think it is important for us to because everyone no matter what age should be aloud to at least say what think and they should know how they are changing things and what they are saying.
I think people over about 10 should be able to vote. Our opinions matter too! It makes no sense how we have no control over elections.
I think it is important to follow what is going on for two reasons. For one it is always good to know what is going on in your country. Another reason is you should learn stuff now so when you are old enough to vote. You will have some previous knowledge.
I feel that it is important to follow the votes because when the kids are old enough to vote they will have some background on what to do and how to do it. They will also be able to choose weather to go with the Republicans or the Democrat.
Kids following the election process is very important because they will know what the Democrat party s like and the will know what the republican party is like. So we will have a better preception on if we want to vote for a democrat or a republic nomonies
It's important for young people to follow their country's election process because one day in the future us young people will be voting at elections and we will have to know what kind of politic we are like democrat or republican and you will have to know what you believe in and which politician you are going to vote for.
It is important for young people to follow their country's election process because it lets us have a state of memory in our brain when we remembered for say the 2012.
It's important for young people to follow their country's election process because one day in the future us young people will be voting at elections and we will have to know what kind of politic we are like democrat or republican and you will have to know what you believe in and which canidate you are going to vote for.
Its important because we will know whats going on in this situation. Also when we are older we will have some experience on who we want to choose when we are old enough to vote. i'm going to run for president when I am 35 years older thats only andother 25 more years to go. 🙂
Young people should definitely care enough to follow along because someday we will all be able to vote. We should start paying attention now, so by the time we can vote we know what's going on.
it is good for young people to follow because it can teach them new things.
It is good for young people to follow because it can teach them new things. Right?
To see who the new leader of our country is going to be
It's important because they are getting involved in the elections and learning this at an earlier age.
It is important so you know what to look for in candidates when you can actually vote and so you know how the process works so you can have your own opinion and not rely on some one else's entirely.
Even though my parents do the voting ,I care about who is running for my country. I don't want a bad president that doesn't know what there doing.
It is important because it is the future of America, if Obama is re-elected, or a republican candidate is chosen, then all of America will be changed.
I think that it is important for young people to follow it because of the fact that when it is time for the young people to vote they need to know how these things work, like understanding how campaigns go and the whole voting process.
I think it is important for people my age to follow the presidential election because it is always good to know what is going on in our political world.
Even though we cannot submit our votes we can still form an opinion and take a stand on who and what we believe in.
I think it is important for young people to follow the election process so they will know how to vote when they can. Also i think it is important so they know what they will do if they get elected and whether or not it is a good thing.
It's important for young people to follow their countries political process so that they know how it works.
It is important for young people to follow there country's election process because, they can share there opinion about who they want to be the next president.
It is important for young people to follow their country's election process. It lets them feel like they have a say in who they want to be the next president. Even though their votes aren't going to be counted because they're not 18, they still can feel like they are being counted.
So that people know who will be running the country. If we let the Government just pick who ever they felt Who knows who would end up running are great nation?
It is important for young people to follow their countries election process because you can get to learn more about politics and learn about what the presidents will do if they win their election for president.
So they know whats going on and when they become old enough to vote they will be able to figure out the candidate they want.
I think it is important because the U.S wants to know what we think should happen in the election.
So we know what will be coming when someone gets elected for president. Another reason is so when they get older, they will know what attributes their country wants in a person.
I think it's important for us to know what's going on around us and maybe we can decide what our beliefs are now so we can decide who we are going to vote for in the future and how we're going to affect the future.
it is important because if we pay attention we will have a better understanding on how to figure out the kind of people to vote for when we are older.
I think it's important so us the young people can have a say & keep up with politics & see what our future might look like when we are old enough to vote.
I think that it is very important for young people, 16 or as young as 8 to follow the presidential election. It gives them an opportunity to get them exited about politics and elections. It also gives them a chance to learn how an election works, with the delegates and the other very complicated stuff. It is even more important for people who will vote for the first time in the upcoming 2012 election, because it will help them better understand how their candidate gets elected.
So that kids can plan ahead for their future
In the U.S., it is very important that children follow the country's election process. When people follow the election, they learn about what each candidate would like to accomplish if they do become president. This allows the young people to develop ideas and ratiocinate about what view or side they will believe in. Doing simple this like watching the news will allow the child to have an peruse and analyze the candidates and see who they wish to be in office. Keeping up with the election also helps keep them up with current events. Obviously, it is important to keep up with the election.
Its important because it helps young people keep track of their country and those canidates decisions. So if they keep following their activity, they will make a better decision for their country.
It's Important because they should know who's going to be running there country, and should be updated on it.
Depending on who watches, it could affect our future. No matter how old we are it most likely will change our Future.
It is important for young people to follow their country's election process because there are a lot of young people in the country. enough to where their votes make a big difference and they need to be informed in the election process so they can make a good decision and vote for the right person.
I think it's important for young people to follow their country's election process because they can develop their own political views instead of following their parents. That being said, following the election process allows them to know what they are doing when they can finally vote.
We believe it is important for young people to follow the current election for several reasons. First, we have the ability to learn and watch how our system of government elects our leaders so when we are eligible to vote we understand the qualities a leader needs to be successful. We also believe it is important to understand the history of past leaders and how they led our country, so we can start identifying who we feel should lead our country in the future. Lastly, although we can't vote we have the influence and ability to inform others about the issues during the current election.
I think it's good to follow the election because it helps prepare you for the future when you can vote. You don't want the wrong person leading our country.
It is important because when kids grow up, they will know a little about voting and polotics. Plus its always great to know whats going on in your country.
I think it's important because when we're young&following it, we start to figure out what kind of people we would vote for when we are old enough. When we're 18&go in to vote, if we didn't follow when we were younger we wouldn't have that great of an idea who is actually good for our interest in the country&who is not.
I think it's because most young people want to be independent and have their own opinion and ideas.
People do but some peopl will over do it and experss it to much and then its just chaos.
its important to be informed now while your young for when your older.
i think the election process is important because you have to know who your going to vote for
I think it is important so when kids are old enough they know how to vote and how it works to vote
Yeah, you should always follow the election process. That way there is no confusion, and you are always up to date on what is going on. As future U,S. citizens, we should follow the process
dear brittany i think the same thing they want to be indepented in therir lives!
they want to be indepented in their lives! they can elect the president that they think is best and deserve to be president!
I think its impotant because we need to know whats going on and to have our own opinion :D.
we think it's important that people need to know what is happening and people need to have an opinion
They already know what to do so they will have no problem with it when it is their turn to to vote also they have been hearing about it there whole life.
It is important to be involved in your countries election process even being a young person because we may be younger than a lot of people but we are still part of this country. Aren't we? So we get the opportunity to choose and listen to political statements without voting.
because this is important for kids to know this because he is your president too.
Personally I don't think it is important for young people to follow their country's election process because i we cant vote than there is no point but you are soon able to vote then i would understand why you would want to.
Its important for kids to follow their country's election process so they know who is all running for president and who could be the next leader of their country.
It is important because when they get older they will know what to do and how to vote.
Young people should follow their election process because it not good to trade every year.
It is important to follow there country's election process because you are the one voting for the person you want.
One reason I think Young people should follow there country's election process is that they will be doing it some day and should not wait until the last minute to become interested in what they may be doing in a few years.
I really don't get this because I'm only 13 and i don't know all this nor get in to politics.
I believe it is good for young adults to get to know who their next president might be. It is also good to listen to what they have to say about our country and other thing like so.
I think it is important because later on when I am old enough to vote I can do my civic duty and vote on the president that I feel will be well suited to the job.
Its important to follow the election process because its important that with a government we all have our input.
Well, obviously its important because we want to know who our new President would be and who is closer to being elected. It is as simply as that.
Well its important to follow the country election process because then we get to know what we actually get to do when we are older and more sophisticated.
Young people are a big difference in the vote. A lot of young people share opinions on things. Including who to vote for. This can create run away campaigns for the person who is running for president.
I don't think it is impotent to follow it cause we cant vote yet.
It's important to follow our presidential election because we are watching to see who will possibly be the president of the United States
If America's youth doesn't follow in the voting election then there will be no one to vote for a president or anything such as a mayor governor or anything. Youth should take some time and think about these elections. If younger children though more about our governmental elections I think that the next generation of adults will be more intelligent on how and who they choose
it is important.
So that they will be able to follow up on what is happening in their country.
its important because it helps pick a person to run against the president also it shows that what every happens we made it happen say you dont vote but then you say our president should loss or win will if you dont vote whats the point tell people that somebody is better then somebody else just be quiet you had the chance to vote and you didn't toke it so dont say any thing thats why I think its important to vote
it is important because the kids choose there side and which president
they want so they learn for future experiences.
I think it is important for young people to follow the election because those young people’s vote counts for just as much as an informed voter. The people that have no clue and are not informed vote for someone who they just seem to like or appeals to them. You should know what the stances of the nominee are because they are going to be leading your country and you are going to have to follow by what they say. Do you want a leader who can communicate well? Some people probably have no idea that Rick Perry isn’t very good at public speaking, but he is still a nominee, is this someone who you want? I feel that every person who is going to vote needs to be well informed to make the best choice they can.
It's important to follow the countries election process because this will be our new president, the new leader of the country. It's very important to know what is going on even though we aren't quite old enough to vote.
I think its important because its good for us to know what their saying and why their saying it.Also we could learn something from it.
because we need to follow our country
Sooo that we know what is going on in our world
They should fallow it because it is their country and you live in it and it was your birth place.
Its important for young people to follow theirs country's process because thats who is going to be leading us. And even though we are not old enough to vote it is still very important to pay attention to what is going on in our world.
because then we have a chance to show what we think what president a long time ago women where NOT aloud to vote and now they are to be fair i believe that people that are 12 and old should be able to vote for the president election that would be the fair way......So that when you are older you have more experience that is why you younger people should be able to vote on Following the Election Process
because kids this Days want a good president! and they want to be safe and have fun ? ..
so that they know who is going to elected
i think its important because some kids want to know who is going to be the president and how that could effect us
I think it is important for young people to follow their election process because its good for them to understand the election process.
It is important because some young people might want to run for president or something political When they grow up and want some tips.
its not good for young people to fallow the election.
It is important because the election process should stay the same and if we don't follow it as we get older and we change it it would not be good.
yes,Because they could learn more about it and not only will they learn that but, also what is going on in their country.History is happening and it could be going right by them without them even knowing it...History is now and happening....
So they can learn about what to do to elect when they are older. Also they can find out about how everything works in the process of choosing a president.
Living in the United States, our country is founded upon the principals of democracy. Starting from the 13 colonies and the Articles of Confederation, we have relied on elections to maintain a fair balance. Following the election process is not only something adults should take part in. Unfortunately, a vast amount of children today do not know what a caucus is, a harrowing statistic indeed. It is exorbitantly important that kids follow the election process because they should know what is happening in our country, and who the possible next president might be. Sadly, children do not take it upon themselves to form opinions of the candidates but just recapitulate whatever their parents say and believe. It is important that this generation thinks and forms opinions for themselves. Clearly, it is imperative that young people follow the elect procces.
Because it's important for the young people to learn about how the election goes, and how much it's important for the U.S.
It teaches them the ways of the goverment. It also teaches Freedom of choice and shows an example of demacracy. I like the current voting standards.
I think that with the republicans who are going to go up against Oboma are going to have to get there game on. I hope whoever does win is a great person for the cut, i wish the best for those who the ones who lost.
i think that the election thing should never go on again because they can be a pain and when you have to vote you have to pay and that is rediculous.
Well, The young people are going to be the ones that have to have them as a leader, and it they don't vote, they might have to put up with a governor/president they don't like.
HI CARL!! YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE WATCH YOUR YOU SHOW AT SCHOOL A LOT!!! THANKS!!
It's important for us to follow the elections and voting, because one day we will have to vote too. In the future, it will be important for us to know how the voting system works, and who a good candidate would be and why. We will want to know who our president is and why he was elected; I think it would be nice to know who's leading our country. Who knows? We might even be president one day, and this is some good information to have for our future.
It is important for young people to follow their country's election process so they can take place in it when they get older. If they don't then when it's time for them to take part they'll have no idea what to do.
It is important for young people to follow their country's election process because the children would be educated by how the president is elected for example the Republican Presidential Debate of 2012. It is also important for young children to follow their country's election process because when somebody asks them to tell what the election process is, for example, the teacher. The child would not know and would be embarrassed. I think children should learn the process and know more about the government more.
it is important to follow the election prosses because to see the best canedate for the president of the united states
There are many reasons that it is important for young people to follow the election process. Even if you can’t vote, you should start to learn about the process and issues as early as possible to prepare you for the time when you can vote. That way you can make the best decisions for yourself and you aren’t going into the process blind. Also, the leaders elected could make a big difference for our futures. Their views on social security may not seem important to us now, but steps they take could stay in effect until we reach that age and their decisions could affect us for the rest of our lives.
I feel that it is important for young people to vote because we need to know not only what elections are like and the process taken before and after them, but what to look for in a person running for president. If we wish to vote when we are 18 or older, it is important to know what we want in a leader. If we feel we need someone who wants more jobs or someone who wants more taxes. This is why young people need to get involved in the elections.
it helps people say in touch with there legal system , president , and it help young adults learn to be a better citizen in there government
it does not mater our parents brain wash us who is good and who is not and they encourage us to make change from a proven president that you know will keep the country going to a unique unproven president that is a record breaking change to the country please go with the proven president this election make a good choice
In today's day and age, it is vastly important that people, especially young people, pay attention to their country's election process. Electing someone to a political office is something that should not be taken lightly. Someone should not be elected just because they are the most affluent or popular; they should be elected because they are the right one for the job. For this reason, young people should be taught about their country's voting system. Truly, it is never too early to learn about the wonders of a democratic government.
It’s important for young people to follow the election process so they will understand how the election works and how the president of the United States is nominated. It’s also a good idea for young people to know more information about the candidates and they will know which one to vote when it’s time to vote in Nonmember. Young people need to know how to vote for our president and understand the government that happens in the United States. If they start early on how the election process works they will know more about the candidates and they will vote which one of the candidates they want for president of the United States.
It is important because it will prepare us for when we get old enough to vote and get elected. It is also good for us to understand the economy.
It is important for young people to follow the country's election process because they need to understand what is happening, and knowing what happens now will prepare them for future elections when they will be able to vote. Being informed is important because everyone should know what is happening in the country and need to be aware of problems and different solutions that each of the candidates has thought of. Young people can begin to form opinions now so that they can already have an idea of what government party they are part of and would like to vote for when they are older.
It is important for the young generation to follow political activities because we are one day going to be the older generation and if we stop then the generations to follow will become less active in politics. If we want to keep politics around we have to stay just as in involved as the older generations if not more. The younger generations follow the older generations for the most part. To receive action we have to take action first. So the next step is to reregister and vote.
because young people want to elect officials with new and fresh ideas that's going to help them now and in the future.
It is important for young people(as myself) to follow the election process for many reasons. Of Course, Its a swell way to start forming, or creating your way of thinking about what is better for our country.Showing your respect to this system is by committing your time to give your opinion. Even though that some of us are trembling from the anxiety, we all have to sedate ourselves till we turn 18. With this election going on, it is basically a requisition for what we would like. Thus shows why young people should follow their elections country process.
I feel that it is important for today’s young generation and for the young generations to come, to follow the election process because it’s their future. Just like anything else in life, if someone wants to make a good choice they need to be well informed about their opportunities. They need to actually know about what’s going on around them rather than just going by hear-say. There’s a lot of the older generation who has yet to become a legal voters that have a lot to say but won’t put any effort or action forward. There’s no need to carry that kind of an attitude towards politics into future generations. Get informed!
It's important for young people to follow their countries election process because they would need to know who will be the leaders and they would need to learn about the people who are running because if they win than younger people should know about it! Also, the young people would need to vote when they get older so they should know and understand about the process behind it.
its important that young people like myself should be able to follow our country's election process so we can know and take up responsablity for choosing our new countries leader.
I believe it’s important for the young people in our country to follow the election process for multiple reasons. First off if you’re going to vote, you’ll want to fully understand what is going on. Second it’s something that is going to happen for four years of your life and it could also change the way our country is. Lastly when the president is chose, and you chose not to vote then I don’t think you have any say in talking about it. If you’re not going to do something about it then why are you going to complain about it?
I think that it is very important for young people to participate in elections even if they can’t vote. If people are not eligible to vote yet, then they can keep up with everything that is happening in the election, because they will eventually be able to vote. If they don’t know what is going on with the candidates, when it is their turn to vote, they won’t know what is going on and who they think is the best for our country. Everyone deserves the right to vote, but they should also be well educated when they make their decision.
I think it's important because... that way you know about your future prestident or who could be. Maybe you will need to know certain things about certain people and why they think they should be president
because we need a better presdent and a better country with are new presdent
It is important for young people to follow there election cause, every vote counts in a election.
I think its important because some kids need to know whats going on in the world and some kids should find some of t\
hese things interesting.
I think it is important for young people to follow their country's election process because they should vote for who they think could win and every vote counts and maybe if they pick him/her they could win. Also I think it will be good for them to follow on the older people foot steps.
Its important to follow and support you person you want. Also you can learn what and how you vote.
I think It is important to follow so we can become smart , intelligent, and not Dumb, ignorant.
It might influence us to vote or become president some day
So when they get older (18) you can choose to maybe try to become a president. we are a part of the country and we would like to know the laws and what not
I believe that it is important for young people to follow their country’s election process for a few reasons. Following these elections will keep them up to date on the hot topics and big issues going on in their country. Yes they may not be able to vote, but they will have some insight of what is to come once they do reach the chance for them to vote. Following elections at a younger age is just going to make them follow elections more so when they are older, creating a more informed voter. These days teens can follow the election process much easier with advances on the internet, TV, and the radio.
It is important to follow the election as teens, because we are voting this year! We need to know the issues and the candidates and how they feel on issues, so we can pick the best person to lead our country (hint: it's not Mitt Romney). Even if you can’t vote yet, it is important to follow the issues and the campaigns, so in the future when you can vote, you have experience in the system. We have more access than ever before to politics with internet, television, and radio coverage and as teens we should take advantage of that.
I think it is important because we need to know what they are planning on doing for our country and what they plan on doing to help Americans. Also because people may want to be president or a politician they need to know about this kind a thing. Also I am an american citizen and I need to care what the president wants to do with our country.
It is important because if we get more young people to vote then we can count on better results and more voters. We need young people to vote because then we can end up having a better president.
It is important for young people to follow the country's election because the young people need to learn and understand that in the future we as kids will have to understand that we need to pick a president to take care of our country. And we need to care about who runs our country for the future ahead of us.
I think us "youngsters" should care about who's going to be president because we're American citizens. We live in this country, we need to know who will take care of the country and who will be the best leader.
It is important for young people to follow there country election process because, then we know whats going on and who is our president.
so when it's time for our vote we would already know who to vote for .
It is important for young people to follow their country's election process because paying taxes gets you return by getting water and street lights it gives us an idea for in the future of what we should look for in are president.
because of the election we have to pay our taxs and then we will care
I think its important because we want to know who runs are country, and think about how a few years down the world what kind of candidate we would want to vote for when we are able to vote for the president of the United States.
I think its important because we can get good benfits for our family
So When We Vote We Will Pick The Right Person To Be President.
It is important for young people to follow their country's election process because we should want to like our president instead of hating them and their decisions that they make for our country.
its important because we as americans have the right to vote for who they want to be presedent
I think it is important because if the wrong person is leading that could ruin the world.
I think its important because we want to know who runs are country, and think about how a few years down to road what kind of candidate we would want to vote for when we are old enough to vote.
I think that it is very important for younger kids to start learning about politics. And I wouldn't want a them to just not care and when they vote, they just vote for anyone.
So that when we can vote we choose the right person to govern are country.
because we have to pick our president of the u.s.a. and we don't want a president that we don't want in the white house. because things can go wrong.
I think that it is important to follow the election process.
It might make "NEW VOTERS" feel part of society.
MAY THE BEST MAN WIN!
i think its important for young people to follow their country elections process because when there older they will be able to vote for themselves. Also when obama gets elected off as president i think that he will be elected again.
it think that we should just to be in touch with what going on around us and for our benifit in the future.
I don't think its that important. I guess it just depends on how interested you are in poltics. But when your older I think that you should definitly form an opion.
So young people can learn more about our country
Ask that in a couple of years. We can't vote yet.
When your a kid, you are care free. but one day you won't be that kid anymore. That is why it's important to start following the election now. You should be prepared, not just going in to being able to vote and go "enimeanie" You should start now so you don't feel rushed or pressured.
Its Important Soo Young Kids Can Understand What Their Doing And They Can Maybe Do It In The Furture.!
So they could learn more
I think it is important because we can learn about politics and so that way we can choose who will become president for the better of the United States of America.
I think us "youngsters" should care about who's going to be president because we're American citizens. We live in this country, we need to know who will take care of the country and who will be the best leader.
I think that its important because when you are old enough you'll know all about the economics and you will understand that stuff.
So we don't get some person who doesn't know what he/she is doing as our president. If that person is the president, we could end up broke, hungry, and living on the streets. And worse.
We should follow election process so we will know what to do.
I think is important for people to vote because they can help our nation.
I think its important we can have a say at who will be the president and make us fell like we are apart of election process.
I Think That It's Important to Follow The Election because If they Wanted to Know What Is Going On With How Well The President Of Our Country Is Doing.
i think it is important because we need a good leader not a bad one and we also want someone we won't get mad at the decisions they make
I don't think it is important. Cause kids don't need to worry about President stuff. I think kids should worry about getting jobs.
I think it's important for us to follow our countries elections process because when wee grow up we will be able to know what side we are for and how to particapate in the processs.I believe all young people should follow the election process.
i don't believe its important to fallow the country's election process i believe that kids these days should be informed of recent and past events to better our society for the future.
i dont think its important at all because kids cant vote so there for it shouldnt matter
I think it is but i also think its not because if you don't want to vote i don't think you should. If it really is important to some people then they can vote but if you think that its not the don't vote.
I dont think its important because us young people should be aloud to vote so why do they even ask us these things .
I think it's important because we need to be able to focus on all the different attributes both good and bad so we can use the same process to pick the right president when we become of age.
I feel like it's important to follow there nations election because some children are not educated or just don't care about the election. I feel as if there not in to voting then when there older they wont care about voting either. Thats why I feel as if they start early then they will be more into the presidential elections when there older because they got started on it when they were young. So yes, I feel like its very important. Most kids are not into doing that kind if stuff and i feel like thats important to get the younger generation back into doing mature stuff that can impact the future.
i think that young people should see and start to follow this process, so when they're older they will know what to do.
Wow. A great question, Carl! But I would say that we, the young people, need to learn about Republicans and Democrats. It's important to know who's who, and we should all think about who we want to win! Besides, before we know it, we could vote! And we are part of the United States of America!
it is important for us to because our future presindent will make new laws
Having the elections as such a big part in our nation makes it extremely important. Since it is such a harrowing task to find our country's new leader, everyone should be a part of it, including young people. The elections may be a daunting event, but it demonstrates the important democratic base this country was built off of. Remaining ignorant of this fantastic learning experience may affect young people in the future. Instead of shielding the youth of America, they should be exposed to everything. Clearly, the election is an impeccable learning experience for everyone.
because We need to learn what to look for when we are voting age
It is important for young to understand how to vote. We must also understand hoe our government works in order to make an informed opinion. By following the process, young people will be more educated voters when they turn 18.
For the young kids can learn what going on.
i think it is inportant so us yungins have an idea when we do and its a good idea to get enuff sleep befor school
It's important so that we have an idea about what's going on and to help us know who we want to vote for when we get older and can vote.
I think it's important to follow the election because it helps you understand politics in general for when you're old enough to vote.
We need to fallow the election process because it keeps our country out of a power vacuum and gives election guidelines.
I think it is important for young people to follow the election process because it shows what it takes to become the "ruler" of a nation. To see who your next president might be. It makes it so we learn all these important things that will make us, when we are 18 make good, mature decisions as we vote.
I think it isn't important to follow the election process because some people don't vote
I think is important for us younger people to follow ours country's elections because then when I can vote that i would understand and pick a better president.
Because it'll matter to us when we grow up
Young adults like ourselves usually don't take much interest in what happens with our government, but it is our responcibility to continue to select our chosen leader whom we believe to do the best to help our country during good and bad times.
Many young citizens are easily persuaded by what they hear on t.v. and others around them. Students should get more involved and develope interest so that their voices can be heard in politics also.
I think it's because most young people want to be independent and have their own opinion and ideas.
i think its importain to know whats happening so you can learn more helful things about the people voting and maybe even help you learn how to vote when your older
It is important for young people to stay in tune with the election process because when they do become old enough to vote, they will know what is going on and who is going to be the best based on their actions. Young people need to be sure they are picking the person that is going to be best for them and their country, so if you didn't pay attention to what was going on, you could make the wrong decision. And every vote counts.
it is important for the young ones to to stay on the same track because when they get older and they will vote they will have to now who is better and whos not good. they will have to help out by picking the bestperson to lead us in our country.thats why that is anportant. every vote counts.
I think it is important to keep the young people informed because avenntully we well all become adults one day so its better learn it all now and not later. And you can now what to look for when the new president or goverment comes in.
because we will always pick a president and we would not want someone in the whitehouse issomeone that we do not want in the whitehouse.
So that you know whats going on and you can provide you're own political insite. Not to mention its good to keep up with the battle of politics that seems to always be going on Nationaly.
It is important because it is always a good thing to know what’s going on in today’s politics and the throughout the U.S. It is also a good thing if you’re taking a government class, modern problems class, or anything that has to do with politics. You could be called on in the future to answer a question or know something about politics. This is also good to know since it’s really interesting for all you history buff’s out there! So even if you’re not old enough to vote it’s ok to pay attention and learn a few things from politics.
I think it's important for young people to follow their country elections process because it helps us prepare for when we are older and able to vote. It also helps us have our own opinion on political matters. (:
It's important to listen to the election progress as a teenager because no matter how old or young someone is, the new president's decisions will affect all of us. We can learn what to expect of our new leader.
I think it is important for young people to follow their country's election process because they can better understand how to vote when the time comes for it to be their turn to vote.
Its important for young people to follow the national election process because it keeps kids aware of current events. The election process is something that youth will encounter in years to come. Knowing about it and knowing how it works is necessary knowledge. Also, not being ignorant on the subject and what is going on in American right now. Some of the youth today have no idea that there is an election going on. Clearly, the election process os an important event that young people should know.
knowing what is going on in the country is vital for young people. Doing this is cogent because kids can support their favorite presidential candidate. Evedently, it is also deft to know about current events. having knowledge of the election is also important because the winner will affect everyone, young and old. elections affects in huge, so every one should know about it. Clearly, children should keep up with the elections because they have a great affect.
I think it's important to follow our countrys election process because we need to know what's happening in our country, and what's happening in the government. If we follow the election now we will be better prepared for voting in the future.
I think that it is important to follow the countries elections because even though you may not be old enough to vote yet, but everything that happens in politics and in the economy affects you. Maybe not as much as it would if you were an adult and had a job, but it’s still a good idea to stay informed. It also helps you better understand politics when you get older. The more you study and learn about it now, the more you will know about and the more you will be able to put your opinion out there for others to hear.
It's important for us to follow the countrys election so when we get older we can fill our parents shoes and pick an AWESOME president
It's important for young people to vote because, the USA needs a leader that will do the following, make friends with enemys, lead us to victory, and help with debt crisis.
We are the future and we should stay up to date with problems that have to deal with our country. As we grow we can make our own choices on who to select for our president based on what we want our country to be maintained. When we grow up we need to learn the other side of the story which a lot of people are having trouble finding, instead of taking in all the information that the candidate gives us, we bandwagon and follow what the others say instead. We need to learn not to do that, instead learning the techniques that the candidate gives us, then elect vote for our choice.
I think it is very important for young people to follow elections because although we may right now not be old enough to vote, we can formulate our decisions based on these elections so that when we are old enough to vote we have our ideas about who we think will do the best for our country.
So that when we are old enough to vote we will be able to understand the politics and process of an election.
I Think it is inportant fo young people to follow the election process, because it prepares them for when they will have an oppotunity to vote in the future years. It can be exiting also to see the election and how it works. I enjoy learning how the delegates work, and watching on election night to see who pulls it off.
I think it is good for young people to be informed with our world today because it is efecting them and me to if a president thinkds to destroy the student loans the kids who want to go to college wont get the college that they want to go abd the college that they deserve. For example if a kid whpo is in Middle school and her dream is to go to Harvard university but since a president destroyed the college loans that kid does noy get to go to Harvard because of the president that we have today. That is why the kids in our world today should be informed with our world today
i think it is good for young kids to follow the elections and the problem the u.s. is faceing because when we the young grow up we can tell the ather young and say what went on in are time.
its important to follow the election process because if you do maybe good things whould happend
It's important for us to follow it because we'll be under whoever is elected. It's important for us to know, or know what to expect, from them and what our future may or may not be like.
It's mainly important to follow it now, so when we are old enough to vote, we aren't lost and confused on which type of leader our country is used to, or which type of person/leader is one of the best.
Its important because if you dont keep up with the election how will you be able to know your new president ,and what to expect about him.
I think it's important because soon we will be voting and need to know how it works. It might also make us a smarter voter and knoow what is right and wrong, who is lying or just trying to make peole think that there good.
It is important so that they know how it happens and who the leader of the country will be. Then when they can vote they know what is going on. Then it wont be completely new to them.
It is important so kids can be independent and not think what there parents think. And so when you are older you know what is going on in polotics.
I think it's important because when we get older we will be able to vote and this could get us a good experience and to know what political party we want to win. Younger people need to get more into politics and less into music. With politics, you can get to know what's going on in other parts of the world. With music, you can know what your friends like which wont help you in the long run.
I think young people should follow the election process because the canidate that becomes our president will be representing our country. They should put out a good message to the other countries and influence them as well. Alot of countries respect the way our goverment works and they shouldn't mess that up for us. If our president does something wrong it will effect us when we get older.
It is important for young people to follow the process because when there older they have the chance to vote. If they don't follow the process then when they are older they won't know what to do. They will have to learn if they want to vote.
It is important for young people to follow the electon process because when they are old enough to vote they would have a better understanding of how things work. Young people should follow the election because they could start getting an idea of what kind of person they want to run the country.
Someday all of us will be voting as well. If we don't know how our election process works how can we possibly know who to vote for, when we can vote. Also understanding how government works can help us be a better citizen.
I think that it is important that we keep up with our election process, because when there young they dont really care about it so if they vote when they are younger they will probaly care when they grow up, because there going to want to vote or mabe not but you should care because you get to pick who is elected.
I think its important for young people to follow the election because they need to know who they vote for if they could. And what they could look for in a president. They also need to know what to do when they get older and are ready to vote.
Young people should stay tune to the election becuase what if one decides to cut down on education? Then that could hurt you in the long run. So you should stay tune to what your goverment leaders are up to. We are the next generation...
i think its importent for young people to follow their country elections process because if we get a president that nobody wants in the white house things could happen that is not good. I also think that people have their own ways and we all think diffrent. people have their own ideas and own ways of doing things.
Because in the future you are going to be voting for the President someday. Its good to start learning about the prosess now than later!
i think its important because then they will be prepared for when they can vote. And they will actually know how to choose.
I think it's important for because it's good practice for when they are older. It's also important becuase they need to know what the furture president will be like. You can pick you favorite and try to convince others why that person should be president. It's good to know who might lead the nation and what changes that person will make.
For me, I just want to see someone else balance the House of Representatives and the Senate. Maybe Obama can balance out the House and the Senate, or maybe someone else has to do it.
I think its important who runs our country cause anybody would run it and mess it up though
we should get involved in this because when it comes time to vote (for us) we should already have experience, because if a campaign promise seems to good we will automaticaly vote for that candidate, i.e.Obama promised Mexican imigrants a migratorial reform, but up to now, he hasn't complied.
Us younger people like to have a say in somethings that our government likes to solve, like the presidential election. WE WANT TO HAVE A VOICE!!!
It's very important for young people to get involved with the election process because that's their future. We are the future electors and we should learn to know how important it is to vote. CNN Student News is helping me realize how big of a difference 1 vote can make on the election process, it's very important to speak out to the youth like me in a way that can influence our future as great peoples futures should be inhanced.
I am very proud to be an american and i'm glad that i live in a place where adult's actually have a say in our government. I'm glad that the USA isn't a Monarchy it's a wonderful democracy. I praise God for giving me such an amazing life. And i give all thanks to him.
I believe everyone should get a second chance unless they have done something so severe, and have been on a massacre or seeking terrible revenge.
i agree with brittany's comment because most people want to be independent.
Us young people have brillant ideas for our genration on how to make it better. And also if we follow the country elections process our vioces can be shared acorss the nation.
it is important for young people to fallow the election because we are the future. If the republican gets elected the one who said "if i get elected i would take college lowns out" if they take out college lowns most people won't have jobs so the debt will decrease but the unemployment rate will increase.
In the copmilcated world we live in, it's good to find simple solutions.
During the elections, it is vital for young kids to be informed and aware of the whole process. Following the election process and knowing what happens now, will prepare them for future. Later on in life, the young generation will ratiocinate and think about elections, so mind as well star early. In a flash, the kids of America will become the foundation of our nation. It would be reeling to see lost adults handling the government. Young individuals should begin to render up their opinions on the election to further prepare them for whats coming ahead of them. Clearly, young adults should be aware of the election process to practice what will be done in their future.
Knowing that young people can't vote because of their age, may be a disadvantage to us. However, no one is a paragon. Realistically, young people are leaning to know the election process can ratiocinate in the future. Many don't understand the effect the young may have on the future, it could be a meritorious effect. If kids know how the election process was held, the more young people will learn how society works. Truly, letting young people have the experience may lead the nation to a better economy.
Everyone should be educated in U.S. presidential election because it's very imperative part of out society. Also, nobody wants to seem ignorant upon any topic on be looked down on, most people want to be cogent on everything humanely possible. In addition, when you're old enough to vote you want to be informed about the election process so when you render your vote you make the right decision and don't end up voting the wrong elocutionist into office. Imagine the current younger generation had ignored politics and had reached the age you could vote and didn't even know one thing about the presidential election. They would all vote for the wrong candidates and that would sway the vote since they would be the greater majority . Then a dictator would become president and the U.S. would turn into a disaster. Undeniably, that is why young people need to know about the U.S.'s election process.
I think that it is important to learn about the process and issues as early as possible so when it’s time for me to vote I understand how the election works and how the president of the United States is nominated. Learning about the election process also allows young teens to start forming opinions on what government party they want to support. It is important to listen and know each candidates views on important issues so that you make an educated decision on who you will vote for. It’s important for me to follow the election process because in 6 years I will be able to vote.
I think it is important to follow politics at a young age because in the future they will understand what each party believes in plus they can understand what it takes to be elected to office
I think that it is important to follow the elections because someday we can vote, so we should know the most about the elections as possible.
I think it is extremely important for kids who cannot vote to pay attention to what happens with politics and economics. For when they can vote they need to know how to make the correct choices to help their country at that time.
there is a vast number of reasons younger people should follow this type of news. Ratiocinating about this, when we come of age and can vote, its vital to know what we are voting for. Getting a head start and generating more knowedge can help alot on this subject. Surprisingly, it will be much more easier when we are old enought to vote. Clearly, knowing the countrys election process will help them in the future when they are old enough to vote.
It is very Important for youths to be involved in the election process firstly to exercise the democracy and voice that the constitution gives too every American, secondly to give a clearer view of who the country wants to lead them, thirdly youths as the leaders of tomorrow must become well acquainted with the system, in order to go about it appropriately.
I think that when the president or the government gives out pardens to a crimenal they should look at what they did first. Look at there face when you tell them that they can leave. If they have a evil look on there face don't let them out. Use your comen sence people!!! What do you exspect to happen when you give out 200 pardens, somone's going to run. Duhh! I'm a little girl and if I'm smartenuff to figuer that out, but the government isn't that sad, really sad.
For young people, it is imperative to follow our country's election process. The reason being is that, even though you cant vote you can still influence people to vote for whoever you want as president. This cannot be possible if young people don't know whats going on in our government. During elections, it's important to know what the people who are running for president have to render. In this way, a child can give their own opinions about what the running candidate has to offer and what he or she does't. Clearly, to recapitulate what has been said it is clear that young people play a crucial role in the election process that they should keep track of.
During the elections in America and other countries, it is rendered that young people have a vast impact on this process. After the elections are submitted, the choice influences the future of the young adults. The laws that are made during this ruling can either help or hurt the future of Amercans. Choosing a cogent and meritorious leader helps the country to survive longer in a diligent manor. When a child is given the oppertunity to express their opinion, they have a more significant understanding on what is going on around them. Thus, young adults play a vital role in the election process and should follow along.
After perusing the blog topic, it is vital for young people to follow their countries election process. Even though they can't vote yet, they can still influence the elections. In modern society, adults sometimes listen to their children and take their advice for certain things. If someone believes that a candidate would make an extravagant president but they can't vote, they can inform their parents and persuade then to vote for that candidate. If every young person did that, it would have a huge impact on the elections. Clearly, young people should follow their countries election process because they can still influence it.
In the world of politics it is vital that children & teenagers understand what is going on in the political world. Meaning that political decisions made now will affect us in the future. For example, if the bill SOPA also known as “Stop online Piracy Act” passes this will affect the internet as we know and love today. Suggesting that this daunting bill will have the ability to remove all copyrighted materials from websites. Also, any website linking to copyrighted materials will be prohibited. Non-voting youths have been up in arms about SOPA since they can’t do anything themselves on the problem. Instead they have been flooding the internet with their views and telling their parents to sign petitions to derail this harrowing bill. Children and teenagers views do have an impact on their parents as well as what happens now will affect us in the future. Our generation will be greatly affected by the laws being passed at this time. It is imperative for us to become more involved in politics because at the end of the day, we pay the price one way or another. Thus, the day will come when upon waking up, our harrowing rights will seem as part of dream.
After perusing your newsletter, juveniles should be allowed to vote. The united states is as much of a domicile for the adult as to the kids. Intaking the experience of voting will teach the juveniles about the things that they will be doing when they become adults. Also, the kids fell ostracized because they as discriminated through their age. Even if they can't vote it is still important for them to start learning about elections. Clearly, juveniles should be allowed to vote
Many kids who are posting now will be going to college or maybe a private high school while this new president is in office. If it isn't a good president then financial problems could put them down the drain and they won't be able to afford college or a private high school. I know that my family is looking for a private high school for me now, and if this new president isn't good it could result in not good things for some people who are looking at expensive/private schools like my family.
i think it is important to follow election because its important to know who is our president and what hese going to bring to the table, because it will count later in life and its good to learn about history what is what and who did what
Because then they can see what is going on in the country, and why things are why they are.
Also, they can see when they are old enough to vote what ideas work and in what situations
i think the should make the age to vote a little bit younger cause us teenagers should have the right to vote were apart of this nation too.
well it's extreamly important to be involed in every elections because than the young people can have an idea whats going to happen next in our future and is it fair or not? It also shows that young people cares about the election by getting involed in it. So when the young people get to a age when they are allowed to vote they would know how does it goes and what takes to be involed in the elections.
important decisions can't be made without the people's consent. If we do not vote, thats like a million less votes and something extremely important that would change our society into a better place would not happen because the lazy teenagers of America refuse to do their duty to their country and simply check off a box.
I personally believe that children, minors, and other youths should be able to vote so they know what the world will be like later on as we grow into adults
Current events should be viewed at any age, 18 or younger. Even if you are not old enough to vote, it's still educational to know how the process works, and have some knowledge about politics by the time you're 18.
I go with my parents when they vote, I think it's a good experience for when I turn 18 and am old enough.
so that they can know about our counrtries leaders and so that when they become able to vote they can make a vote for someone that They think is a good cantadate.
It's important for young people to follow their country's election process because it's important to know how things like that work. I am sure that I will eventually have a test on that and an easy way to study years before the test is to keep up with the election process. Young people also need to know who to vote for for the future.
Im sick of hearing about te election.
I think it is important because young poeple should understand what it means to vote for a president that wont mess up country and lead us in good paths. And that can handle money and not waste our countries money.
what happens in the election affects our future
It's important for young people to follow the election processes because when get older and ARE able to vote you get in the habit of learning about what's going on in your country.
I agree with brittany that pepole should have their own choice about election
I think it's important for young people to follow the presidential elections because in the future people might ask you who the president was in some year and you don't want to embarise yourself and you might have a job interview were he asks you who the president was in whatever year. And if you dont know he might think your stopid and not give you the job. That's why I think young people should follow the presidential elections
I think its important because young people need to learn what to look for in a election and know how to vote.
I personally think it is important for younger citizens to follow the Presidential progress, because it allows us to learn. If we just vote because the person is handsome, strong, or just everyone else likes him; we wont be able to chose the good leaders America needs.
It is important for us to follow the election process so that we know who is leading our country and in what direction they are taking it in
It's important because what the president decides to do could change the child's life. Money is one of the ways the president could change the child's life because the parents might have to pay more money to the government and that could mean that the kids couldn't go to basketball games, the movies, etc.
Its important for everyone who can understand the election process to follow it because we're citizens the 1st amendment was written for free speech. We all have a right to free speech and our own opinions and we are fortunate enough to exercise those in our country. As citizen's we should follow our government.
I think sports should be played. saving that money doesnt do much good unless they get better teachers that can apply here knowledge to the student better. but every school should play sports
i think it is important because if they don't watch the elections then they won't be very political.
I think it is a great thing to be able to listen to the election so when it comes time for you to vote you know what to look for in the person you are electing. Or if you are like me and my brother and want to be a president, then you should follow because then you know what things you need to do if you want to ever be the USA president.
because we are people too,and they should have a mature age vote not a kindergarten kids but you know what i mean
It's important for people under eighteen to follow the election process, because, if they didn't watch anything about the election, how it works, Republicans, Democrates, even the Tea party, how will they know when they get old enough to vote? It's not something you can really explain in two minutes.
I think it is very important for young people to follow their countries election process because thay should know what is going on in the government. Also i know i don't have them but some children do. They have current event test. I think it is very important .
live your life without people being made at you because you traded your country live life nice befour you die
ok i think taking away sports is bad caues then students are left at home to do nothing and if there is nothing to do they going to start trouble. Like would you realy won't teenagers walking around your neighborhood.
They must me prepared for the future and know what is happening in their country.
Even though we aren't 18 yet, we still have a HUGE impact on the United States of America. it doesn't take much of a brain to see that we will be the next decision makers for the country. that is why many schools do school-wide elections. who knows, maybe someone who posted on this website will be the president in 20 years.
I hope President Obama should be the president again.
Our votes are important because our future is in their hands. We need to be heard so they don't mess up our college education or jobs.
I think it's important for people my age to pay attention to the presidential campaign because we will end up voting soon and we might as well understand the ropes to the process.
I think it's important we know about politics!
i think that the younge people need to know to because one day when they grow up they need to hear about it to
it is good for young people to follow because it can teach them new things
I think that pardons are good. I think they are good because, they are able to get a job and turn there life around. The reason I think it is bad because, all the criminals do in jail is sit there and got nothing accomplished besides getting in more trouble by getting in fights. Also if they do get a job they will most likely keep them out of trouble because, instead of being on the streets they will be occupied doing there job.
it is good for young people to follow because it can teach them new things.
I think that young people should add their opinions and ideas because, i think they should also get a chance to be part of it and say how they feel about the person!
Becasue sometimes kids are right and they want to try
i think it is because its important for young people to know all about the voting prosess
Because eventually we'll be intrested and wondrous about it as well.
I believe its important to follow the election process because
-to know who your next president may be
-And so you kniow how to vote a choose a canidite to be the next president when your allowed to start voting
The election story told me alot about it and i have an idea how it might turn out
i think its important because the decision the people and goverment make affects us too its up to the older people to make our lives better
i agree because america needs a change for once
It is important for young people to follow the election process because we need to know what is happening in our country!!!!
its important so you know who will be the winner
So then they know what the new president is when your classmates are talking to you
It is important for them to follow up on that kind of thing so if they want to run a business they know what to do.
The same with if they want to be a president they will know what people did and if it worked or not.I know that we watch it because my mom wants me to do good in my life. I think that they should watch it so they will know who our president is and what he is like. That is why I think they should watch it.
People have voted along time now. Now the 2012 presidential race is going to florida. Just thinking about that some people happy when they can vote. Sadly I can't vote yet. But when I can I'll be happy to.
I think at least every one should be at least 21 to be able to vote.teenagers might pick the on that looks the best or the one thats in the lead.I think it's a good thing to vote but I would wate for about a week before they pick.I like the people who watch all of the can pains are done.son thats what I think people should do.
My opinion, this election stuff gets really annoying, yet I think it's important. The only reason i dont like about this election stuff, is the T.V they have the commercials repeat and repeat!! Also that's all my parents talk about sometimes it gets on my nerves.
I think it's important because kids should know what's going on in life and our country. And so they understand why their parents need to do things that are new.
I think that it is important for children and teens to know about these things because it is letting them know what is happening in our country today. I also think it is important for them to know so then they are prepared for what they should expect when they get older.
Well, kids are young and foolish (No offense) and they are not able to make there choices alone. For an example, a foolish man will ask (Kids), but a wise man will find out by his self, and work with a group (Adults). There young and strange, and they do things we can't understand sometimes.
I am only a preteen but I think it is very important because my opinion is very strong so hear it is. I think the people should be voting for the Democratic party because I think the Republicans are trying to tax the poor people and trying to get-rid-of taxes for the rich. But luckily one day a man that was very wealthy stood up and said this is unfair the poor should not have to pay more than the rich. So that is my opinion.
I think this effects a lot of people not just politics or older people that can vote. This could effect anyone but younger kids don't think of it very much. Some of us younger people probably don't even know who's running for the election. I think that is sad and we all should.
