whether to vote for obama or not

I would really be concerned about the job rate and how few people are able to get jobs this(And last)year.I would ( If I were old enough) vote for Harry Reid as Senate because Sharron Angle is crazy.if she gets elected, my dad said we're moving to California. I'm really hoping she doesn't get elected.

One of my most biggest issues would be that you don't know if you picked the right president, senate,or even a governor. So that would be one of my biggest issues about voting.

I think the biggest issue would be the economy .Right now that would probably be our biggest issue. The reason i think that is because with the economy being built up would stop allot of pay-cuts, and there would be more jobs.

i think our biggest issue in the U.S. is terrorism and our troops overseas. We have been fighting out there for too long and i think it is time for our soldiers to come home.

The biggest issue on my mind would be weather or not what I believe in and vote for will be chosen because if I wouldn't have voted I would have no reason to complain

It would have to be who should be elected and what they would do for america and my community.

The single biggest issue that would be on my mind when im in the voting booth would be me thinking if i made the right decision for picking that person or not. Everyone hopes the person they pick will make a change in the world so that's why they would pick them.

    November 1, 2010 at 5:50 pm |

the biggest issue on my mind would be either what happens if i vote for this person or which of their goals do i really actually need meaning which is more necessary all together.

    November 1, 2010 at 6:20 pm |

Taxes, definetly taxes. People are losing jobs because of TAXES! Then our hero, Obama, is doing road construction where they don't need it. And that's tipping people off.

If i'm going to make the right choice and how this will effect the US and other people that don't have a good way of living like they don't have shelter or food.

  18. Krystalin

I would be thinking about which one is the better one, not just in their campaign but what they would do to help medicare and other issues. 🙂

  19. Taylor

Education is deffinatly the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE!!! We all need to focus on that, because without education, there is no future, because the kids are the result of the world.

    November 1, 2010 at 6:53 pm |
  20. Theron

I believe that the biggest issue is the illegal immigration in the South-West. The immigration reduces jobs in the economy that has dwindling jobs already.

    November 1, 2010 at 6:53 pm |
  21. Brittany

I think that we need to focus on getting our economy back on track and quit having so bills get written up that are unnecessary and useless with the issues going on now. We have terrorists trying to attack us daily, we have a major obesity rate, we have alot of homeless people and people who have addictions to drugs and alcohol tht are taking away from us who work and try to do everything we can to get money that we need to live and major taxes go away from the people who truly need and and go to those who feel like getting a social security check to buy weed and alcohol unlike those who need it for true disabilities. Our economy has become a "what can the government do for me" society rather then what can we do to help our economy. I think it needs to change

    November 1, 2010 at 7:04 pm |

I think the biggest issue for me would be, what if my vote turns out to be the worst decision for me, and my state, city, county, etc.? What if the peron I vote for turns out to be like Richard Nixon? You never know whether or not your decision is the best one, but you should always follow your heart when tough decisions like these appear.

How do I truly know that the candidate that I have chosen to give MY vote to, is honest, and will have the integrity to stand up and make the changes that they promised during their campaign.

    November 1, 2010 at 7:08 pm |
  24. Jackers

I think that our biggest issue is economy. All of our money is going towards useless things.

    November 1, 2010 at 7:13 pm |
  25. Juan

probably having to pick only one of each candidate.

    November 1, 2010 at 7:19 pm |
  26. Abby

Although I know this happened a while ago, and the debate isn't as big as it was, I still think that something should be decided about the health care bill. Although I do not agree with it entirely, I believe that if a child's parents cannot afford or will not spend the money on doctor appointments, the kids still have the right to get yearly check-ups, vaccines that are absolutely needed, and able to come in when they are ill.

If I were at a voting both right now, the biggest issue on my mind would be, how is the new goverment going to change my life, make it better or ruin it. I believe that Obama is trying to turn America into a Socialistic goverment. If you look back in history, socialism has always falied. The civilisations have all crashed and burned. Now you all might disagree, but that's my opinion.
Also, we should not be forced to excecise our right to vote, that would be againt the constitution, and just plain wrong. Some people may not want to vote, don't have an opinion, or refuse to be apart of politics. Who cares if your lazy. That's just an excuse to not vote, and the reason that you do or dn't want to vote is entirely for you and only you to know. Making a law like that ould cause riots like in France. No matter what, people will always vote, not everyone, but some.

    November 1, 2010 at 7:24 pm |
  28. Maria

The first thing on my mind would be to make sure that I filled in the right circle for the candidate I want. I wouldn't want my vote going to the wrong person.

    November 1, 2010 at 7:31 pm |
  29. brooke

...you have to really focus on who you are voting for and what his or her possiblities are and how they can help us ,but i just wanted to say good luck to all you voters and please vote for the ones werth voting for!!

Choosing the right candidate is always the hardest part when it comes to elections.

    November 1, 2010 at 8:16 pm |
  32. Ben

I think that the biggest issue right now is Education, since it involves us, kids, directly. Yes, good education IS important, and I would probably vote Yes. But there could be a downside to it as well. School days may grow longer in most places, leaving less time for after school activities, like homework. So it all comes down to: How much of your time are you willing to sacrifice for an education?

    November 1, 2010 at 8:20 pm |
  33. khirstia

a thing that would be in my mind, who would i vote for? is this the right person to serve the country etc. i would be confused if i were at the voting booth

    November 1, 2010 at 8:21 pm |
  34. Asher

The Biggest issue I think is that what if your friends chose another candidate? What if they reject just because they have strong political opinions?

    November 1, 2010 at 8:21 pm |
  35. Lucas

I may not be old enough to vote, but I do understand how big this midterm election is. I just think that we need to calm down about issues like healthcare and jobs, and focus on immigration and education. I see about two-hundred advertisements for states governor, all saying that the other 2 are bad choices. I just can't figure out who is really the good one. If it were me picking who was going to take the spot, I would give them all the boot, but of course, I only hear NEGATIVES, never why they actualy SHOULD be in office.

    November 1, 2010 at 8:24 pm |
  36. Connor

The biggest issue on my mind is how will whatever party that wins deal with the current state of our Nation's economy and what they are going to do to make a long term fix to the problem, not just a quick fix.

    November 1, 2010 at 8:37 pm |
  37. Michael

A big issue that I would think about is the economy and what it would be like after the election. In addition, how would it affect my family.

    November 1, 2010 at 8:37 pm |
  38. Maddie

One big thing that is on my mind is... Are they going to pick the right person?

    November 1, 2010 at 8:56 pm |
  39. Oscar

I think the single biggest thought on my mind would be... who I would be voting for and if they were to win. If I was in the booth, that would be the biggest thought on my mind.

    November 1, 2010 at 8:57 pm |
  40. Aimee

It would be to get better education and get rid of the heath care bill but i proboley would't think i would go with may gut but choose a good person for office

    November 1, 2010 at 9:00 pm |
  41. Emily

My biggest issue is the economy. People think the economy is back to normal, but it's not for my family. We lost alot of money during that time and it's still hard

    November 1, 2010 at 9:01 pm |
  42. Katlin

how many people are voting scince there are so many people who can vote but alot of them don't.

    November 1, 2010 at 9:02 pm |
  43. Bethany

I think when people get in the booth they are looking at the r and d by everyones name. A fact I know is that republicans are trying to get the democrats out the election. What ever happens is in god's hands!

    November 1, 2010 at 9:03 pm |
  44. Keegan

in our state people in our state are going crazy

    November 1, 2010 at 9:05 pm |
  45. Josh

One of my greatest concerns would be: Who is going to fix the economy the most efficiently? We need leaders that will step up to the plate, and get the job done. There are thousands of house foreclosures, people in debt, unemployment, and businesses going out of business each day.

    November 1, 2010 at 9:09 pm |
  46. jesse

someone wont be happy about one of those ads

    November 1, 2010 at 9:23 pm |

i'm just glad these elections are gonna be over with this week i'm tired of all the signs every where. i just can't wait until they all come down

    November 1, 2010 at 9:40 pm |
  49. Brody

I usually don't vote on quality I vote on there plan to get us out of the huge debt. I would be scared to vote on the person who messes up the country (or state) and gets us in more debt.

    November 1, 2010 at 9:50 pm |
  50. Tyler

My biggest issue is that if i was eighteen and i was voting is that would they do what they really said in those commercials. They all say that they are worried about students, economy, money, etc. But do they really mean it. I think they are just saying that to get attention to them selves and for people to vote for them. I don't think that what they are saying on TV commercials is true i think that maybe they are only careing about themselves so that they can be in TV and all of that. When im eighteen I am going to be careful for who i am going to vote for because maybe they are rude in real life and they don't follow up to what they said in the TV commericals. You should watch out for who you vote for because you never know that he/she might be a liar and don't do what they said they would do .

    November 1, 2010 at 9:52 pm |
  51. Khali

The biggest I am worried about is the money. I've heard of the money situations and how some people believe that the money is being wasted. But is it really because of that or is it the economy we have and the high taxes? They believe we have just come out of a recession but I believe now it has just begun again.

    November 1, 2010 at 9:53 pm |
  52. Keenan

Well the biggest issue I would be voting on is which senator has the best plan for unemployment. If we (America) can get people jobs that will boost the economy and lower taxes. Also if we can fix unempolyment then we can improve the lifes of people by getting them money thus helping thm afford things that will help them live better lives.

    November 1, 2010 at 9:59 pm |
  53. Allie

My biggest issue would be that maybe the person i will be voting for won't to the job as good as the other candidites running, but i wont find out until someone wins and begins work.

    November 1, 2010 at 9:59 pm |
  54. Paari

Probably jobs because the whole economy can collapse if people don't have jobs to support their family. I hope the politicians are not making false promises

    November 1, 2010 at 10:05 pm |
  55. Nia

The Main issue that many should be worried about is education, the people in our generation will be running things pretty soon. youo wouldnt want us to be Uneducated. Just a fact

    November 1, 2010 at 10:09 pm |
  56. Ryan

In California Proposition 19 to legalize Marijuana. It is unbeleivable that people want it legal. There are too many other serious problems to look at like the budgets and debt.

    November 1, 2010 at 10:09 pm |
  57. samuel

i say that the problems are health care and immigration.

    November 1, 2010 at 11:35 pm |
  64. Jenna

I think that I would vote for someone who is a great person and know's what they are doing. That will keep leading our country in a big way and we need people that we can trust and know that they will make good decisions!!!!!

    November 1, 2010 at 11:40 pm |
  65. Jason

My biggest issue is that Obama messed things up when we were already in hard times, and now is our chance to fix things! I sure hope that the recession will be over soon... it is the longest one that I have heard of!

    November 1, 2010 at 11:42 pm |
  66. eddie

well Carl the first issue on my mind is electing someone that will keep there promise and not break it and another issue is choosing the best candidate and making the right decision.

The biggest issue to me is job lay-offs. My mom got laid-off so I know how bad that can affect a family and something needs to be done about it.

i think the biggest issue is that the taxes our to high.

    November 2, 2010 at 3:15 am |

The Afghanistan War is definitely the biggest problem, because while the economy is pretty big, we've survived worse, but the war is constantly draining the US and it needs to stop.

    November 2, 2010 at 3:16 am |
  71. Anthony

the biggest issue for me would be, if i vote for this person what are they going to do to help the economy?

    November 2, 2010 at 7:40 am |
  72. Aaron

I think the economy is the biggest issue. We need to the democrats out of power

    November 2, 2010 at 7:41 am |
  73. Brie

the biggest issue is taxes because people are in hard times and can not afford to pay taxes when they have bigger issues like keeping a roof over their head

    November 2, 2010 at 7:51 am |
  74. Rigby

The single biggest issue for me is jobs. My father is currently unemployed, so I know firsthand that we need a candidate that can make more of them.

    November 2, 2010 at 7:51 am |
  75. Jamie

the biggest issue is jobs and the ecnomoy, the Government need to improve the job market so that many students are not out of work. the longer this continues the worse it will become in the long term

    November 2, 2010 at 7:59 am |
  76. D

Well I'm kind of confused with whos good and who's bad.And It's election day right now!

My concern is whether the Employment Non-Discrimination Act will get passed. ENDA would prohibit employment discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

    November 2, 2010 at 8:21 am |
  78. Meghan

I think that the biggest issue is that we dont have the same amount of republicans and democrats, so we dont have to many different opinons.

    November 2, 2010 at 8:28 am |
  79. jasmine

I would be concerned on who could help OUR nation get better again. When i say OUR nation i dont mean china or australia or canada i mean OUR nation the US of A. That is what i would be concerned about [ no offense to china, australia or canada].

    November 2, 2010 at 8:38 am |
  80. Joshua

I would be thinking "Which party got the US in a debt of 13 Trillion dollars(DEMOCRATS OF COURSE.)

    November 2, 2010 at 8:46 am |
  81. Spencer

An issue that is strongly on my mind is how our economy is going to get back in shape. With us being in debt with China, and other countries its important we get our economy in shape before its to late.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:09 am |
  82. Miranda

Everyone can have issues at that time but my issue would be who or what person to choose. You really just have to be honest, dont pick someone just because your friend is.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:17 am |
  83. Anna

I think the echonomy is the worst thing in America right now. It's going to be Christmas soon and everything will be pricey. I can't do much with the echonomy down.

The issue for me is the security.I'm thinking of a person who can mamke it more safe here.Like the airplanes.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:24 am |
  86. Kaylee

The problem we have in our country, is the economy! The economy is barely getting any better. There are less people looking for jobs, now we need gas to go down. It is one of the most expensive things right now.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:25 am |
  87. Jake

I think my issue is Oboma as president because he is wanting more school and I don't think that he doesn't know what to do.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:25 am |
  88. Laniciana

we have a problem about economy and job loss.people arent going out and looking for jobs and they need to.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:25 am |
  89. RACHEL

I think the biggest issue in my mind is Obama, because he wants to give us more school and homework! I think that is not right to give us more work then we have to do! I get home work alot sometimes so I think Obama is the problem.

My students worry about the economy. They also know that China is a power that may overtake our economy soon and this makes them wonder what our nation will be like when that happens.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:32 am |
  92. Brent

That you might pick someone and the that person gets chosen and when he does he makes the economy worse.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:44 am |
  93. Anonymous

I think the biggest issue right now is trying to decide on how to help those in the south recover from the oil spill there are still families in need of money because they are without a job because fishing was their way of making a living.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:45 am |
  94. Shelby

My biggest issue would have to be the economy and taxes. How will the people we elect help out economy ? Our country is in turmoil and we need to figure out which candidates will help us further our country in a good way. Alot of people these days only care about republicans and democrats. They dont realize the bigger issues, our economy, starvation in large cities, the homeless, tax raises, people losing theyre homes, people with no health care. I would be thinking, out of all the mud-slinging and out of all the comments, who would help our country the most. Ask yourself this, without all the titles of republican and democrat, which candidates have the most potential to help us in our time of need?

    November 2, 2010 at 9:48 am |
  95. josh

I think the issue is the taxes they have to be lowered but in a way so my school does not cut sports

    November 2, 2010 at 9:52 am |
  96. Ben

I think the biggest issue is unemployment. So many people are now unemployed and don't have any where to live. If the next govener doesn't fix the unemployment problem, the econamy would get even worse and a lot of people might move out of Maine.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:52 am |
  97. Devan

Economic because people are losing there jobs.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:53 am |
  98. Kassandra

The issue I think is important is health care and welfare because, some of the people that want to be elected want to cut health care and welfare. I don't think that is fare because some people don't have a lot of money and they need welfare and with out if how would they be able to live?

    November 2, 2010 at 9:53 am |
  99. Rosie

Education is important because it can effect the rest of our lives. If we don't get a good education than it will be harder to get a good paying job. We should be learning multiple things so if one job is to difficult to get than we have a back up plan.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:53 am |
  100. Steven

I think the biggest problem is to help the people in Yemen getting bombed. You need to help them out!!

    November 2, 2010 at 9:53 am |
  101. Josh

Education is important to me because, They are planning on cutting extracurricular activities, like no basket ball team, no football team, just to save money and sports is life to me. They plan on cutting field trips to. Plus they want to make the school days longer and that's going to interfere with the economy.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:54 am |
  102. Conner

I think our main issue is safety ever since 9-11 our terrorist attacks have seam to gone down until 2010. Now it seems like we are hearing things on the news more and more I think we should upgrade our security system even more than they already have because it doesn't seem to be working.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:55 am |
  103. Monique

I think the problem is taxes. These prices are seriously sucking the cash out of peoples wallets and making it hard for people to pay bills. Not to mention how the government is spending all OUR money on pointless things that don't even help us. If they spent less, then the taxes will go down and everything will be gumdrops and ice cream.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:55 am |
  104. Morgan

    Morgan

I think the biggest issue right now is education because I'm in school and I want to have the best education that I can get. I don't think that spots or any after school activity should be cut from the school because everyone should be able to do activity's.

I think the most important thing for the elected person to focus on is education. With out education children like me wouldn't have a chance to make the world a better place.

What i just want is for people to vote for the right person. Vote for themselves and not someone telling them to vote for someone else cause thats just wrong. Votes are suppoused to be secret not telling everyone who they voted for!

The biggest issue on my mind is the education for the children. I've many kids dropout because they don't think they can make a difference in they're academics or they think they won't be able to succeed in life or they won't try. I hope that changes.

If I was in the voting booth, my biggest issue would be the people, and their well being. Jobs are hard to find these days and health is such a risk. Who would help "The People" the most.

I think the biggest issue right now is abortion; each day there are about 3,700 abortions in just the U.S. That’s just about 1.37 million each year that’s a-lot of lives...and if you think about it there shouldn't be abortion. If they get abused then they should still have the baby and make their chose to put it up to adoption or keep the baby.

i think the people running should actually know what's going on. They should improve our country. I think imigration is still the BIGGEST issue. The new canidats better solve something.

Definetly the economy. Like everyone else Im preparing for my future. I plan on college and a successful career and a family. That all invovles money. My future partially depends on these people who we are voting for.

Immigration is a big issue for me, so it's important to know how certain candidates are planning to handle it. I don't agree with deporting all immigrants; I believe that that's cruel and completely against what America was built on. It's essential to me to have people running this country who would make the immigration process easier, so that people don't have to resort to breaking the law.

    November 2, 2010 at 11:04 am |
  127. Emily

I think the biggest issue will be the economy. Everyone is affected by this and the politicians know it. They will use this issue as a leverage to boost their campaigns and get the people to vote for them.

Our situation in Iraq. I think that should be figured out before anything else. Although health care is the next biggest issue, because it effects my generation.

Education is an important issue because it can affect so many kids and how they learn. It can affect them by to many people in the class and cutting special activities from the students. Education is a huge factor in every ones lives so we need to maintain it well.

My Issue is Education. My issue is important because some of us don't want some of our classes taking away. Also some of us need it to fulfill our life. And if we did not have a job we will not be able to live on there own.

I think a big issue in the United States is unemployment. You see so many homeless people now and, most of the time its not even their fault.Business' are facing cutbacks thus causing people to lose their job's and, when you lose your job you lose the money to pay for, your home, your car, food and everything essential to being at least partly successful in life.

    November 2, 2010 at 11:30 am |
  135. Sarah

My issue is that unemployment, this is an issue because I want my parents and relatives to keep their jobs so they can pay for anything that they need for their families.

Education is important to me because I am a student and we need books to learn. I learned that we may not have enough money to by books that we need if the wrong governor gets elected.

I think that healthcare is one of the biggest problems for the people because a lot of people cant work, and they need to get health help but they cant adored to pay the money. A lot of people need to have support in case they get sick.

Education is an important thing because we need the classes to learn new things like art and PE. We like to learn how to make art and we like to play sports without these classes we won't learn how to play sports or make art.

The issue is bombs! Recently people have discovered that there where two bombs hidden in ink cartrages that came from Yemen, and on there way to Great Britain, and America... It was an attempt for another [terrorist] attack. The bombs could have been activated by a simple phone call. They might have even been on a flight with passengers on it. Can this world ever find peace?

The most important political issue to me is energy. I think one of our country's top priorities is to find a way to make inexpensive and efficient green energy. Also, If America continues to rely on middle-eastern countries for oil, they might eventually decide to stop giving it to us, putting our country in even more chaos than it is already in. Therefore, we should focus on better ways to run our vehicles and other energy consumers.

What worries me the most is that many people don't know why they are voting for a candidate, other than the fact that the candidate is a republican or a democrat. Their ignorance is not their fault, because many polititans do not tell you exactly what you are voting for. You see commercials that say, "Vote for ____ and vote for our schools!" But in truth, this really doesn't mean much. Government officials had to create a law that information about candidates had to be written in English that regular citizens understand, and yet even after you read it several times, you have no idea what the whole thing meant. Voting and not knowing who or what you are voting for is worse than not voting, and I hope that most people take the time to understand what they are voting for.

My issue is unemployment. Unemployment is happening to a lot of people, they are loosing their homes, they become homeless, when people loose their jobs can't support their family. When people are unemployed they could end up on the street along with their family because they don't have the money to pay bills, their home and cars would be taken by the bank.

    November 2, 2010 at 11:40 am |
  152. Mackenzie

The most important issue, to me, is unemployment. This is the most important issue, to me, because when innocent people lose their jobs, theres no more money coming in for them. This could be a problem because they may have families to support. I would know about this because this has been a problem in my family. My dad lost his job twice but lucky he eventually found a new one and hes doing pretty good. Thats the most important issue to me.

Soon approaching $14,000,000,000,000 and a never ending war approaching 800billion a year. My biggest issue is federal budget spending on military industrial projects costing 1 trillion a year. Really all it contends to is advancing are military beyond spending capacity. Meaning we stay as the number 1 most advanced & technological militaries in the world!

I think California's Prop 19 should pass.I think that because marijuana isn't even that bad compared to alcohol and Cigarettes and those two are legal,If it does pass,it should be taxed to the full to where the state can make some type of revenue and get California out of the financial crunch that arnold got us into.On the downside if it does pass there is going to be scors of people that will take advantage of it.

In my opinion, the biggest issue is this country's national debt. With democrats in the house and senate, will the debt crisis rise? I believe we are spending too much money on unnecessary laws and bills, than the important problems in America, such as gas, oil, houses, roads, bridges, cars, etc.

THE BIGGEST ISSUE FOR ME IS EDUCATION BECAUSE THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE RUNNING FOR GOVERNOR WANTS TO COMBINE CLASSES AND GET RID OF TEACHERS BECAUSE HE DOESN'T WANT TO SPEND OUR MONEY ON EDUCATION. The single biggest issue is education.

Consolidation, cut backs, lack of funding, poor teacher, run down schools, etc.

Education is our backbone and if we do not offer our children what they need, we are failing them and setting them up for to fail. If we continue to offer a subpar education to our children, our country will never be as great as people would like to believe.

Education policy needs to change and it needs to change now!

A lot of people dont realize how important these elections are, they are just as important as the presidential elections. I think people need to stop focusing on democrats or Republicans and focus on who is going to do the most good for our state(s) and country. We need to focus on things like Healthcare (is it fair that some people cant have healthcare because they are sick with cancer or some other terminal disease), Education (we are the future for the US and will be running things one day), immigration, and the economy. Democrats and Republicans need to try for once to not focus on beating each other in trivial things but actually work together to try to help this country get better. (notice i didnt put my political party because most of the kids who put their political party probably doesnt even know what it stands for)

I think that the biggest problem for America is that people are voting for canidates that they think will be good in congress and the senate but then they change their position and wants to raise taxes and does not like girls and or wants to give millionair companies a rasie. They also want to pay more to there own co-workers... What do you think of that raising taxes and a canidate that does not like girls. Pay more to millionairs and people who work in the government. They are all leaving out the majority of the world. Ya there are a lot of people who work in the government and that are millionairs but that is a small part of the world maybe 28% out of 100% is that who you want to be in congress and the senate???? Think about it just like on the Pat Quinn commercials things are getting "FROM BAD TO WORSE"!!!!!!! Hello watch who your voting for 18+. If you make ONE MISTAKE YOU TAKE THE WORLD ALL DOWN WITH YOU AND YOUR MISTAKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...........!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you make 1 small voting mistake it counts!!!! One vote is counted...

If I were voting the biggest issue on my mind would be budget cuts because thay lower salaries and raise taxes. They would also affect schools by raising prices for things like books and other things the school must pay for.

  224. Misty

The biggest issue on my mind is education. Like how are the state's senators and House of Representatives are going to make it better, so that there won't be any school dropouts and that the students learn what they need to learn to have for the future

The biggest issue on my mind is the obesity percent of Americans. We are in the top ten and that is not a top ten to be proud of. The rate is increasing. I would like to see the leaders making statements on tv about the obesity rate because I see very little of it. I would like to see them acutally approach the issue instead of just talking about it.

I'm a teacher at Animo Ralph Bunche HS in Los Angeles. I asked my advisory students (we watch the show every Tuesday!), and their answers were as follows:

    1) Budget and Jobs- "Because it affects our families on a daily basis" and "Because it affects our future.

    2) Immigration – "In Los Angeles and because we're Latino, we see our families and our friends families get divided and deported a lot. It's unfair."

    3) Pollution – "We're the ones that have the world in the future, and we want it to be safe and clean!"

  244. Jonathan

The voting poles have a lot to think about during the voting, but one of the biggest issues is the economy and how we are trying to rebuild it. The government keeps trying to heal it by spending more money but in my opinion we're just putting ourselves further into debt. The only thing we should be trying to fix is the unemployment rate right now and lower it. When voting for the congress seats, take into consideration who is going to stop spending on stimulus bills and take the process at a slow rate.

I Think that Education is what's most important in these elections because each year more and more people are dropping out of high school, or not graduating and if they graduate, they might not have the right kind of knowledge to go to college, which can affect the future of this country immensely...

    November 2, 2010 at 5:33 pm |
  246. Wayne

I would like to point out that many people here have incorrect grammar and do not seem to relate to current propositions. (e.g. Prop19, Prop203, etc.)
Maybe America's schools really are slacking behind the rest of the world, especially South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and China.

    November 2, 2010 at 5:34 pm |
  247. Zeb

I think that education is most important in these elections because more people are dropping out of high school, and less people are graduating high school with a good GPA for college, and since less people will get into colleges, problems in the US are going to get a lot harder to solve with less people wanting or able to do the work to fix them....

    November 2, 2010 at 5:37 pm |
  248. Jinoh

First of all i would like to point out to many people (especially at Courtney, who had the first comment) that Obama is not turning America into a socialist country. Socialism is where the government regulates all buisness, prices, etc. However, America still strongly remains to have a free market system, which means we are far away from communism. Furthermore, socialism is not all bad: it would be better than a democracy if people were not power-hungry and greedy.

On topic, I would like to focus my issues on Prop19, 203, and 107.
Prop 19 and 203 focus on legalizing marijuana for medical purposes. Marijuana is not as deadly of a drug as people think. in fact, it is better than tobacco and alcohol, both of which have been legalized. Marijuana also prevents nausea, vomiting, reduces eye pressure, and even helps lack of appetite. It is also used to treat cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease patients.

As for Prop 107, I am strongly against it. I think that we should strive for a more equal work force in regards to race.

    November 2, 2010 at 5:40 pm |
  249. Jesus

I am really disappointed at how many people here have incorrect grammar, and that their comments aren't even focused on the present-day propositions.

Maybe america's education is really slipping behind more than it already is.

It doesn't matter whether or not we are democrats or republicans. It only matters that we all take care of our country. We need to be focusing on how we're spending our money, time, and efforts instead.

I think the biggest issue right now is the war of course. I know that they are trying to stop it and its not as easy as it looks but I still think that something needs to be done before something similar to 911 happens

    November 2, 2010 at 6:21 pm |
  259. Alix

For me, the biggest issue in who to vote for is who will respect my vote. Will this candidate represent me? Will they vote the way I want them to vote? There have been many discrepancies between what the people want and the way their Senators and Representatives vote, but who knows what's best for the people more than the people?

    November 2, 2010 at 6:23 pm |

The biggest issue this election has to be budgeting. We need to cut wasteful spending down instead of raising taxes. The mroe that we budget now, the less that the government will haev to fix later.

I think that all this is would be stressfull and you don't know who to vote for, everyone just puts thing on I and if I were sitting there I acualy wouldnt know what to do my parents tell me "Oh, you will have to do it in the future it gets easy after a while." I realy don't think that we have to worry about things that don't involve the united states we need to worry about now and not the future. It's now, like sometimes people just think about who they don't want, they need to think about who they want its not going to make a difrence they all made mistakes that little mistake to everyone else is like a mistake that will destroy us all. My biggest issue is realy that why everyone gets crazy over who to choose, and why the people they are going to choose get crazy over someone else winning.

The big problem is the economy and the economy money.

    November 2, 2010 at 6:47 pm |

I think our biggest issue in this election is the "Jobless 99'rs ". Their are thousands of unemployed people who will lose their benefits this month. Something should be done quickly before the economy gets any worse !

    November 2, 2010 at 6:47 pm |
  269. Sadie

If I were at a voting both right now, the biggest issue on my mind would be, how is the new goverment going to change my life, make it better or ruin it. Obama uses the bull mose party alot.
Also, we should not be forced to excecise our right to vote, that would be againt the constitution, and just plain wrong. Some people may not want to vote, don't have an opinion, or refuse to be apart of politics. Who cares if your lazy. That's just an excuse to not vote, and the reason that you do or don't want to vote is entirely for you and only you to know.

I agree with Lucas (up top). This campaign has been the MOST NEGATIVE campaign I have ever see. Everyone is only saying why nobody but them should be elected. No positive ads about why they should be in office. Just negative ads about the other candidates. I would not vote for anyone who ran a 'negative campaign'. Also, those telephone bots that call every hour of the night? I wouldn't vote for anyone who runs those, because they're such an annoyance.

    November 2, 2010 at 7:10 pm |
  274. Garret

The biggest issue on my mind would be if my vote is right, I'm voting for the right person. Then my next thing that would be on my mind is 'Why am I here.'

    November 2, 2010 at 7:12 pm |
  275. Olivia

I think the issue Americans should be worried most about is jobs. If we vote for candidates who have ideas about creating more jobs in there state, we guarantee a boost in the economy because more people will be able to pay taxes without a problem. This means more money can be going towards the government to pay off taxes, support schools, and creating better health care.

    November 2, 2010 at 7:17 pm |

My Biggest Issue Would Be About The Early And Regular Voting

If I were there right now, I would think of all the people who aren't voting this midterm. I mean if not everyone votes and there is a large group that has formed to say you know what I know that there arent many people that are going to vote this way so I will try and persuade somepeople to vote my way. That and there ARE people who are mentaly not-capable of even living on their own and others are practicly making them vote for whom they want. Which in all honstey IS cheating just beacuse they may not be caplabple of choosing a canidate for-them selves but it still IS just as bad as tampering with the machines in my opion.

    November 2, 2010 at 7:33 pm |

Most of my votes in the house would Republican while it would lean in favor of the democrats in the Senate. It isn't smart to allow one party to rule congress.

I think the biggest issue is the economy. The people in California are struggling to keep up with the economy, trying to save their jobs and their homes. And people all over the united states are losing their money rapidly.

I think the biggest issue in the U.S. would be the economy. But with all the commercials on the news, you're changing your mind every minute. I would go for the conidate that would help the economy more than hurt it.

    November 2, 2010 at 8:01 pm |
  292. Tanner

I would make sure that I voted for the right person. One wrong or stupid move might cost us all!

    November 2, 2010 at 8:04 pm |
  294. Brook

I would say the economy. Everything circles around the economy in my opinion. The better the economy, the more money that everyone has to spend on wars, technology to help plot against terriorism, schools, taxes to help with the deficit and energy (more solar panels and wind turbines), and health care. If there is a better economy the rest will follow.

If i were at the voting booth now i would be thinking about the econome, and how it;s going. And i would be thinking about the way the democrates rule america, and by the way that the are actually helping it .I would mostly vote for the women running for congress, because men think they are better than us, and before i vote for them i would probably watch what they are saying on the news before. 😀

my biggest issue definately would be health care, I mean think about it! so many people can't affored the care they need. I say that i would vote for whichever person who would lower the cost, No contest!

  300. Cory

A lot of people dont realize how important these elections are, they are just as important as the presidential elections. I think people need to stop focusing on democrats or Republicans and focus on who is going to do the most for our state(s) and country. We need to focus on things like Healthcare (is it fair that some people cant have healthcare because they are sick with cancer or some other terminal disease), immigration, and the economy. Democrats and Republicans need to try for once to not focus on beating each other in trivial things but actually work together to try to help this country get better.

    November 2, 2010 at 8:36 pm |
  301. Hannah

I feel that the biggest issue is the party majority in The House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, because that determines our country's future. Our economy is also a big issue in our society. It effects everyone and people should definitely keep that in consideration as they fill out their ballot.

    November 2, 2010 at 8:37 pm |
  302. chey

the biggest issue on mind would be what could my single vote change

    November 2, 2010 at 8:42 pm |
  303. Marcus

The biggest issue has to be government spending. The Democrats seem to be following the old adage "you have to spend money to make money," which is a very unpopular course of action considering the current recession. Republicans have been able to play off of the unpopularity of Democratic policies and the anger of the American populace. Every other major political issue has practically been thrown under the bus in this mid-term election.

    November 2, 2010 at 8:43 pm |
  304. Sierra

In my opinion, there is more then one issue. Economy, jobs, ect... but mainly, The economic crisis. Everyday items like milk, butter, and bread prices are rising rapidly. And with all this taxed food, how are we Americans going to be able to afford it all?

    November 2, 2010 at 8:47 pm |
  305. Alex

If I were in the voting booth right now, the biggest factor on my mind would be Education. I want to have a good, well funded school to go to and get a great education. If I have to go to a class full of 50-70 people... It's going to make it very hard to learn.

    November 2, 2010 at 8:48 pm |
  306. Tanner

If i was voting right now i would be thinking of who to pick, because who i pick will make a different in everyone lives.

    November 2, 2010 at 8:48 pm |
  307. Bellamarie

If I were in the voting booth I would be thinking about who would be the best choice. If I choose the wrong person it could affect whatever position in the government I was voting for. Every vote matters, so you have to choose wisely. Education would also be something I think about because that is the whole reason we are in school and learning, and we don't want to choose the person that can't handle important topics like education.

    November 2, 2010 at 8:57 pm |
  308. LAURA

well right now I hear it's all about health care, but I think it's more about education because without a good education this country will get no where.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:00 pm |
  309. TYLER

I think that the biggest issue is the economy then government you can always change government but almost never change the economy but we still need to remember about everyone that is unemployed

I believe that if I were standing in the little box right now, I would be so happy that I had the right to chose who leads our country. "With great power comes great responsibilty" is the thing I would be worried about. I would be nervous that if I pick the wrong person, the country would fall...

    Let freedom ring!

The biggest issue for me is a reform for the Immigration/Naturalization laws, hundreds of Immigrants come to America, many of them very important scientist, and researchers, that is to me the biggest issue.

I think that the big issue for me has to be the candidates because I want to know who my candidates are. I dont want to vote for someone i have no clue about.

  314. Nectaria

The single biggest issue on my mind is the economy and how it effects our taxes. Because if we have to pay more taxes, we will lose some money, we can't get more things from the stores, the stores will suffer, they will have to cut jobs, and the cycle goes on and on all with one thing.

Some republicans think they are right on everything, but they don't really care and I agree on like 5% of things they say,and they say alot.I know it's kinda off track, but it's my opinion.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:16 pm |
  316. Madeline

I believe voting is a very lenient. The thing that bugs me is that some people just vote for no reason and they don't even know what the candidates believe. In 2008 my dad and i watched a few of the speeches and we decided on who we would vote for. Every vote counts and if you just do it to do it then your putting our who country in risk. Once your vote is in, there is no going back.

I think that the biggest issues are the economy and cyberbullying. The government should come up with laws to stop cyberbullying, and the government should help boost the economy by putting more money into businesses.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:25 pm |
  319. Bindi

The economy and abortion, not necessarily in that order. Those issues need to be adressed. How many jobs have to be lost, innocent infants to die, before Congress wakes up?

I think the most important thing to think about is how honest the candidate is – like John McCain. He upholds his promises to citizens.

    November 2, 2010 at 9:31 pm |

I think economy is the biggest issue right now, but it could be better.

You need to take in mind that what you vote for is final, you need to understand that just because someone said something they would do, might not mean what you thought.

  324. Audrey

The biggest issue for me is deciding the new senators for each state. These people will be working for our government and we want to have the best people for our country. Also finding a governor for our states. We need someone to be in charge of goverment in our states!

    November 2, 2010 at 9:59 pm |

The biggest issue on my mind would be the economy. I'd chose the candidate I know will actually do something about it.

Health insurance is the biggest thing on my mind. More than half the world's population is in need of it and so I'd choose the person that I know would be on top of this issue.

I would be mostly thinking about how they can help the country in the future and how they can help the United States move forward.

    November 2, 2010 at 10:06 pm |
  328. McKaila

I think it is a good thing that nobody knows who you are voting for so there's not that much pressure on what others will think. But still it is stiil a really inportant choice, because that person will be governer for 4 years!!!!!

    November 2, 2010 at 10:07 pm |
  329. Ally

I think the biggest issue to me is the well-fair of myself, and others. So mostly it would be the dramatic amount of people out of work. I want someone who could help the economy, and get people the jobs that they desperately need. More jobs= Increase in spending. If you help the people, you help the government in the end.

    November 2, 2010 at 10:13 pm |
  330. Sam

In my state (Minnesota) both the economy and education are the main issues. I look at the candidates plans to improve these things, but what they say while campaigning isn't always what ends up happening. While it seems like Democrats are looking to far into one area of this and Republicans have their views to far the other way. The Independence party has a plan in 'middle ground' that could really turn the fortunes of these things around.

    November 2, 2010 at 10:23 pm |
  331. Brooke

The biggest issue for me would be, who would look past which party you're in and actually get down to business and take care of the issues, i mean if you just shoot down somebody's oppinion or idea cause they are the opposite party of you is that really the way our founding fathers wanted our government to end up? I dont think so, i think poloticians to look past their party name and look at the issue and stop being so stuborn and fix America!

    November 2, 2010 at 10:32 pm |
  332. Brooke

The biggest issue going into this election is the argument of the parties. Everybody is too busy focusing on if you're a republican or a democrat to fix what's really wrong. In my oppinion you should actually look at what someone is saying no matter what party they are from and really listen to their idea because it could be a good one. The politicians today are to busy fighting over democrat and republican that this country is suffering because of it. Is that really the way our founding fathers wanted our government to end up? In constant argument over which party is better? Its like middle school drama, I want people in control of this country who will put those issues aside and look at the real ones, instead of voting no on a bill or law because it was proposed by the opposite party.

Employment and Minimum Wage! I'm going to be old enough to work soon, and I want to take advantage of that oppurtunity. If no young, new workers can get a job, I don't know whether or not America can last as a country.

    November 2, 2010 at 10:39 pm |
  334. Danielle

Right now, people don't understand what each represenitive have in mind. My guess is that more than 30% of the candidates(like the governor and senate etc.) and a little less than 45% of porositions aren't telling the truth. People just don't know what their voting for. THEY'RE ALL LIES!!!!!!!!

I think the main issue is ending the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. A lot of our countries money and attention is going into the war effort, so I believe that once we get the war under control a lot of other problems will begin to straighten out.

I'm not old enough to vote yet, however I understand how the election works. If I was able to vote, I feel strongly about preserving my 2nd amendmant right to bear arms. Although, hunting is my primary interest I do enjoy shooting guns for recreation. I think the basic rules our country was founded on should be protected. I don't think gun control would have the affect that anti gun lobbyists think that it would. I personally feel people should not vote just one way only such as Republican all the way or Democrat all the way. I think they should take an interest in what the individual running for office believes.

I think that Prop 19 in California is a huge issue. This could legalize usage of marijuana if the marjority vote is yes. I hear students at my high school talking about prop 19 quite a bit, a lot students say if they could vote they would vote yes to legalize the substance. I don't see what is so special about this substance. But if it lowers a few California residence income taxes when I start working, that will be a good way to boost the economy and lower taxes. This issue is a very up and down issue whether to legalize this substance. This is one issue that gets students in California that are interested in.

    November 3, 2010 at 12:04 am |
  347. Rachel

Voting is a issue. Most people do vote but there are some that don't. If we force them they would just vote for any senate and get it over with. Not taking this seriously.

I think the most important thing in this election is Government spending. Democrat's believe is strong Government spending and are just digging a deeper and deeper grave for the future tax payer's to get them out of.

i think the government is the biggest issue! theyre taking OUR money and calling it their own! whats up with that!? seriously they need to get themselves straighten before we do something to them.

who wins to make this country a better place! we need to create jobs and bring us out of debt. we need a good House of Representatives and Senate to boost up America. It doesn't matter what party, it only matters that they work together for the good of America.

'Change', isnt what we should be worrying about when it comes to Mid-Term Elections. We just need people in the house and senate, that will have common sense and do the're job.

I totally think that the people in the U.S. are seeing the horrible effects of Obama. Obama has had two years to do something, but what has he accomplished?? other than his horrific health care package/plan. So i think that the people of the United States magority voted for the Republican party not because they agree with the republican veiw, but because they are against Obamas democratic party.

If I were in a voting booth right now, the biggest issue on my mind would be our country’s education. Our country depends on people getting an education for almost everything in our world today. Making the right decisions on who I vote for would also be on my mind. Making the right choices when I vote is important so that I can benefit from the decisions that the leaders will make in the future.

    November 3, 2010 at 9:46 am |
  360. Alexcia

In the u.s this is not the biggest issue because i think everybody is not putting there time into it , but at the same time we need to be in our books learning about it our self instead of listening. i think the voting every november or something like that is a little to much , and people pay to much attention to it !

    November 3, 2010 at 9:50 am |

I think the biggest concern is Education. If some places make their day longer there will be no time for extra stuff, like sports or doing homework. If the kids are after school longer the time to do homework and home stuff shortens. I know the education needs to be uplifted, but maybe they could find a different way.

i think we need to legalize marajuana because its a multi billion dollar market, and we are spending millions of dollars on enforcing laws

such as paying off our huge debt

I think national debt and outsourcing would be on my mind. if national debt isn't paid off and we owe most to china,we'll all be speaking Chinese!outsourcing means products are cheaper, but it also means less jobs for americans!

I agree with courtney.Socialism always crashes and burns,no matter how powerful you get.Take a look at russia,it used to be socialist, and that form crashed and burned!it wasn't communist, communism is almost impossible unless you find a group of human beings who don't want power!Socialism is what obama wants us to be! I think capitalism is just fine.

If I was in the voting booth I would want to think about what was going on in Michigan. The economy has been so bad that we are one of the worse states in the U.S. I woud want to elect somone who would fix our state the right way.

I dont really now what voting is like in a booth because I am not old enough, but if I could then i would just vote on the person who I wanted to vote for. Sometimes when I go with my parent to vote, I would try to say who I wanted, but they said I should just be qiuet and wait. Somtimes they would pick the person I said because they wanted that person.

The Biggest issue I think is that prop 19 didn't pass but I think it didn't pass because all the people who wanted it to pass in California were too stoned to go vote and missed out. It would have been a good prop to pass because it would have raised lots off money!!

    November 3, 2010 at 11:33 am |

Our national debt. A country as great as the USA should not owe any country money. Our leaders should never spend money we do not have.

i think that we should be focusing on our national debt, because that will start shaping our economy back then we can get the job situation under controll and stop waisting our tax money on stupid stuff and vacations for the big wigs in washington.

A lot of things. One thing that upsets me is that the government spend our money. OUR money, the spend it on things that we don't need. People pay taxes because we have to, but we expect the government to spend it on what we want them to, not what they decide is "important".

    November 3, 2010 at 1:00 pm |

To pick the right one I don't want to make a mistake a put my country in a big fuss over things that can be settled because everyone in office has a great honor, and they need to not make a mistake.

I think the most important issue is the economy in general. I think that eveything from the trillion doller debt to the lack of jobs is what we should be focusing on. Not whether or not T.V. commercials are too loud.

The biggest issue in my mind while standing in the polls would be the issue of our economic situation. I would vote for who can get the job done and help us get back on track. Parties aren't as important to me as everyone things, i don't validate someone’s work on whether they are democratic or republican. I base it on how well they work and whether they can get the job done.

I think its the teachers getting laid off. I mean students need teachers at school to learn and thats the most important thing. Also taxes, they keeps on incresing.

Everybody is voting for democrats because Obama is a democrat and everybody wants to be with the president. republicans try so hard to win, but they can't because Obama is overwelming! Families and children need a good home.

    November 3, 2010 at 2:02 pm |
  404. Ashlee

The biggest issue is that a lot of people have been laid off of there jobs because their work needs more money. Also, when people are laid off of their jobs, that results in less money to them, which can end them up in foreclosure. This can really harm the country and maybe even the military, and if some other country is watching us, might see it as an advantage to start a war over us. This will hurt our country even more. So, we need someone who will help America get their jobs back and help lower taxes so people don't have to pay for them and end up homeless with no where to go. So hopefully we get good people and they will help us get more jobs back and less tax.

My biggest issue is the environment. Even if we had all the money in the world, no one would be happy if they could never leave their house. This is our only earth, and what people call "saving the planet" is really the same as saving ourselves.

I think the biggest issue is, one how have they done so far in what their campaigning for. I mean have they done any thing that will make me want to vote for them. Another thing is I would think how they could help the economy, would they raise taxes for us, them, or would they raise our pay or theirs. These things are important because if you are in debt as it is then will you want them raising your taxes and their pay. My third issue to think about this is how we should fix our country before going into war to fix another. I believe that would be insane. Its saying "I'm broke, but they are too. I'm going to go work for them so their problems get fixed even though it isn’t my problem." I think this is very important so that is why I used my time to type at least 165 words on this subject. I also think it is very interesting.

The main issue that will/did who will win the election is which party will fix the economy. People want the unemployment down and taxes decreased. The tea party also has a huge influence on who people will vote for.

The biggest issue on my mind is the War in Afghanistan. I mean, we have been over there for about 9 years. We've spent around 1 trillion dollars on this, and rarely any politicians have spoken about it. It's a big issue that needs to be thought about while voting. Not just the economy.

    November 3, 2010 at 3:25 pm |
  411. Sunshyne

If I was in a voting both right now i would tottally be nerves i mean you go in there and should be scared cause if you vote for the wrong person and they are elected they have no idea what to do unless they have been elected before

When i see the canidates tell their speech on tv and their saying that we are going to change this, this and that. but mainly all the canidates never do wat they say their going to do in their speechs.
For example: Obama said when he was running to be president he saids he is going to make more jobs avaible, but he did not make more jobs avaible he made more people unemployed since he became president. Obama tried to make more jobs by the banks givin more avaible loans to small business, but did not succeed, this was a good idea but he did not think it through.
The funny thing is people are saying that Obama was a better president than George Bush, actually Bush was better we actually were able to find jobs even though we were in debt, but since Obama became president we lost more jobs and we still are in major debt.
I, personally believe no one knows what the people actually want and are in need of. Even if someone tried to interview everyone about what people want and need.
Every politcal party just wants what they think is best and it is mainly not best for a lot of poeple. when they are careless about other peoples oppinions.
I will never vote because of these issues!!

I think the biggest issue in the United states is that there is some major disagree ments on how we should be ran. When i think of a big issue i thikn of less and less help for the men and women over seas fighting for our freedom and how the other people in our country are dying form diseases and things that for some odd reason cant seem to cure!

There arre plenty of issues to deal with, but I think that the biggest would be that Washington doesn't seem to listen to us anymore. They seem to only care about their agenda and not about the people's needs.

I think the governors are paying to much on ratting out other governors

Hi carl, I just wanted to say that the issue foremost in my mind is that the voters just need to focus on is our own country and who would be the best person to deal with the issue in the united states and who would be the best person to focus on what there job is in helping our country and our nation.:)

    sincerly,

I think that our major problems are that we arent paying attention to the big issues we dont take the time to stop and think about whats going on in America. The main problems should be the main issue in peoples mind but no one cares to take the time to find those problems.

The biggest issue on my mind would be,how is the new government going to change in our life, would it make it better or worse for us.

    November 3, 2010 at 5:12 pm |
  426. Addie

I think some of our government is weak and we may to improve whats going on and really think about who is on the ballet. Our biggest problem is just our economy and how we handle things.

    November 3, 2010 at 5:27 pm |
  427. Felicia

Well, I'm not old enough to vote, but i feel that everything that happens in America effects each and every one of us, but I think the single most important thing that's going through the voters heads and my own head is whom in which has the power to lead our country out of debt and into the bright future that lies ahead of America and its peoples.

    November 3, 2010 at 5:32 pm |
  428. Kara

I think the biggest issue would have to be is that when people go to the voting booths they really don't know who to vote for because they don't whatch the ads on TV and they don't read the newspaper, so they might just guess to who to vote for and they might put someone that really shouldn't belong in that postion.

    November 3, 2010 at 5:32 pm |
  429. Carlee

If I were voting in that booth what would be on my mind is how just my vote could change the world forever and I would also think that people would stop putting those ads on tv because it bugs a lot of people and the e-mails. If you want to be voted for you should just be who you are and not what people are looking for. That will be a victory.

Well What I Think Of Voting We Need To Step Up And Vote For The Ones We Need Like Money,Education And Economy We Need Those Things In This Voting Thingy So We Need To Vote For The Dudes Who Are Running

My mind will be probably pretty relaxed because I already know who I'm going to be voting for, but if I don't, a lot of pressure and a lot of decision making will have to be made and I only have limited time.

  432. Rebecca

I think that we need to focus more on our national debt. It is now in the trillions, and if we don't start paying it now, we will never escape from it. If we work with our national debt, we will have more money to work with for education, jobs, and funding. This will finally improve the U.S. economy.

I think the issue will be if your person your voting for going to do the stuff that you want to be done dont just vote for people if there doing somethimg you dont waant to be done.

  435. Kaitlyn

I think we should focus on education and school because the kids are going be here longest so we need the education and other things can wait.. Our countries budget needs to improve beacsue we are really low and we cant buy anyhting like tools for the army.

This whole thing is just nuts. The mudslinning is inevitable, and it makes me feel like the politics of our own country is nothing but a bunch of people who will do anything to be a part of the government, then will just let us down in the end. They've all promised better economy, more jobs, more money, less debt, less taxes, etc. But when are we actually going to see them do it? Sure, the economy is balancing itself out, but that's no excuse for making the people of America believe you can help and then you do nothing about it.

Furthermore, I find that I never get my hopes up for a better country just because one cantidate promises it. We'll never see any results at this pace! Taxes, prices, and debt just keep getting higher and higher, yet no one but the common man seems to see it. Even students like us are seeing it falling apart right in front of us! We are tomorrow's voters and leaders, following by example, yet all I'm seeing are rich people with fish-bowl type lives and scandle that never DO anything. If this keeps up, they're going to lose a lot more than just this one girl's vote someday.

    November 3, 2010 at 6:10 pm |

The issue on my mind is if im making the right decision and voting for somone who would truly improve our country instead of the opposite

These big leaders tell us all of the things of WHY we should vote for them and make them president, governor, mayor, etc. But we really don't know who we're voting for until a couple months after they're in office.

I think that people shouldn't worry about what the world news is but what's going on in the state and local area. But who's to say that all the congress men and senators vote on what we think.........o'well the economy is what it is and hopefully it will get better.

I think that everybody just needs to stop focusing on all the little things and start focusing on all the important thing such as: Jobs, money issues, oil, and most of all just the whole economy put together.
What I would do is see who are the people that are going to help us fix these problems. if these things don`t get under control, god only knows what could happen!

People don't understand the trouble we're in, it's all the rage to complain about taxes budget and spending but people dont truly understand the problems associated with these. we borrow money from china, not a few dollars, billions, and we have to pay that back. we see the numbers on our tv and thats all they are to us, a set of numbers that we talk about solving. We need to stop now, and take harder regulations on spending within the government, if we dont then we will be swept up in economic storms. every great civilization has fallen some time or another, and economic trouble is one of the key pillars to a nice hard fall for the US.
I believe that the republicans have the best idea of how to solve these problems, but regardless we need national cohesion with these problems, not two parties fighting because one is a donkey and the other an elefant, please get it together U.S government for all our sakes

    November 3, 2010 at 7:10 pm |
  447. Locke

We need to start with a better nuclear policy against iran, then we need to stop government spending, pay back china and stop the borrowing of money and then get our morals back together, if we dont the US will just be one more Rome, a good run but failing in the long end

    November 3, 2010 at 7:12 pm |
  448. Des

The most important thing is letting the military jurisdiction over its internal affairs, not civillians. Although im all for the civillian control over the military, the best people to run internal affairs.......are military officers. We dont need civilians telling the military it has to revoke dont ask dont tell, and messing up its combat efficiency, for a small political "win". When we start to get loose on things like that it never stops, then people start to demand "rights" for other absurd things, "i want to marry my child", "i want laws that allow me to marry more than 1 person" "i want my 6 year old to get married and have children", this is one of the most devastating blows to a country's cohesion, Greece, Rome and others have all fallen, and if you look at what and who made them fall, you could put current events and names into the story and it would make perfect sense. I think that the biggest issue is that there aren't enough jobs if more people get jobs than that makes things better for them but, if lots of people get jobs than that's even better. If people keep losing their jobs than every thing will go down hill.

    November 3, 2010 at 7:23 pm |

My biggest issue is I am worried that my vote didn't count becuase they made a prediction of who was going to win. I heard that republicans dislike Obama and I really wanted Tom Barret but everything happens for a reason.

My biggest issue isn't about Republicans or Demicrats. It's about what America's becoming from them. What's the point in voting if either way you vote, it will end in disaster?

    November 3, 2010 at 7:35 pm |
  455. Camille

I think that the biggest concern of mine is money. We are in debt by trillions, and we need to get the economy back on track. With the Americans being in debt to other countries, I feel that it shows that we aren't as strong as we come across as being. We need to get our outrageous spending under control, or there are going to be consequences in the future.

  460. Alex

I consider both parties to be inadequate, for two years the Democrats had power in the House of Representatives and the Senate. During this time, the Democrats did NOTHING. We are still in Iraq, we're still in Afghanistan, we don't have healthcare, and the debt is the biggest in the world! I don't know what a quarter can buy anymore, even though it could by a candy bar and a comic book when my father was a kid. I don't want to be the only thirteen-year old intellectual that knows we're the children of the second worst economy America has ever experienced. While I support Democrats in their beliefs, I have a Republican view on how the Government should change, therefore, I don't fit into either category. I don't care who you marry, I want lower taxes, and I want out of the Middle East! While I don't necessarily support the Republicans, I'm happy that the Democrats lost their power in the Senate. I hope that the Republicans can make America change for the better. If anything, they should do all they can to change the economy, it hasn't been this bad since the roaring 20's collapse. I'm begging all politicians, can someone please step in that has some common sense and a obligation to do what's right for America, not themselves?

The biggest issue for me is same-sex marriage. I think it's abominable that it's been an issue for so long, and I really am hoping that some of these Republicans that got elected will be less social than the rest of their party, and perhaps extend equal rights to everyone for once.

I think the biggest issue would be the economy.Once we get that fixed,we can start on other needs. With the economy down,we dont have the money to work on other things without causing a bigger debt.

...i really think the republican are trying but the democratcts being in the lead is very akward.many of states of the world know early what to do but american are voting for the government i myself already voted so im hping for the democrats. Total number of seats: 435. So, just over half, or 218, is the magic number there in order to hold a majority. Heading into yesterday's midterms, Democrats had 256 seats; Republicans had 179. So, for Republicans to take a majority in the House, they needed to win 39 more seats....hahahaha told you theyre are in the lead the republicans are trying but if they catch up they are going to be the ones whos in the lead and the democracts are going to decend theyre votes and economy and as i said" DEMOCRACTS GUD LUCK IN WHAT? YOU KNOW!

The biggest issue in our local election this year was the bond issue that our school system was hoping to pass. However, if I was able to vote, the biggest issue that comes to mind for me is immigration laws. I understand that immigrants (mainly Hispanics) come to this country for freedom but I also believe that there should be qualifications that they should meet.

One of the biggest issues that gets my blood pumping is the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. I do very much support these wars, but we are spending bounds and bounds of money on them. I understand that wars are very expensive. I understand that wars are costly not in terms of money but lives as well. I don’t think we should pull out right now, but there will come a time when enough is enough. Lets all hope that the government doesn’t make these wars another Vietnam!

Local offices and local problems were the main issue when it came to voting this year. In our county we had one of turn out ever for our county in midterm election, because we were voting for school problems. Decisions involving our school and county were the biggest issues.

I think the biggest issue is who will take over the house of representatives. This will show how the people feel about the president and if they want a change in power.

    November 4, 2010 at 11:12 am |
  498. Isaiah

I think the biggest issue that needs to be revisited would be the bulliying policies within the school districts. The superintendents and principals claim to have such a hold on it, but yet it still seems to happen.

The thing I would be worried about is if the Senate or any other house seat is right. We might all have seen the commercials but that is what they think. I like to watch the debates. I would be worried if the kids will get good education and also the border line. We need to secure the border and protect our country

i think its the taxes how they keep doing stuff that just put us in even more debt they should ask themselves if its going to hurt us or help us. then maybe we will get somewhere.

    November 4, 2010 at 12:43 pm |
  503. Ashley

I agree with many of you about education. We need to help kids learn so they can become the new senators and representatives. If kids are educated now, later on we will have a smarter future.

The biggest issue on my mind is the economy, and jobs. Unemployment is still at 10%, and things aren't getting much better very fast. Another important issue is health care. We need to find a compromise, between both the republicans and democrats and the American people and the government. We need to find something that works. Those are the big national issues of concern. In my area, my main concern is on the school bond issue. Our district is contemplating a school renovation costing 9.8 million dollars. This is a big issue, especially for landowners who would pay most of the taxes for the new school. It also goes back to one major issue, the economy. No matter how you slice it, we have to fix the economy before we worry about anything else.

the single biggest issue on my mind is the economy and unemployment
I worry that who ever is elected in the Mid-Term Elections that they will change the economy and/or unemployment.

    November 4, 2010 at 2:33 pm |
  507. Lena

I think that we need to focus on the econmy and stop spending money on things that wont benifit us! Its Plain simple, we need help. To many people are unemployeed and we have to many issues that are less important that are being addressed while the big issue still stays around like a huge road block.Yes we need taxes, becuase otherwise how would we have money to build new roads and repair old ones? The two largest issues at hand and 1. The econemy 2. Unemployment. Many people are suffering from unemployment including my family and my friends. We need more opertunities for jobs and not just saying oh your disabled get a desk job or retire. Thats just not gonna help the families out! Money is needed to pay for food, the rent, heating, electricity, and much more. But when your unemployed, money suddenly becomes a precious thing that is not taken for granted.

It's a little late to say now, but the single biggest issue on my mind while voting would be the economy. It's strange for me to use the phrase "back in the day" because I'm only 18, but back in the day, I could get a 20 oz. bottle of soda for a dollar. Gas wasn't much pricier. Granted, things have always gotten more expensive for a variety of reasons, but things could definitely be better for us Americans- not only in terms of prices, but also in terms of job availability. I sincerely hope things turn around in the near future.

    November 4, 2010 at 3:23 pm |
  509. Ashley

The economy has got to be the biggest issue during this election, to me. With unemployment rates going up and the U.S. being in debt, it seems like we should be focusing on finding someone who would help fix the problem as quickly and accurately as they can.

    November 4, 2010 at 3:24 pm |
  510. Jak

the biggest issue i have to say is what will they do with the national debt i mean its reallly getting high i just think we should stop spending and start saving

    November 4, 2010 at 3:25 pm |
  511. Austin

In my town we had a ballot for a school bond issue. This issue would raise property taxes which would have upset some of our local land oweners if I was passed. So I think that was the biggest issue for me.

    November 4, 2010 at 3:26 pm |
  512. Jenah

The biggest issue is education. What i don't understand is why universities cost sooo much. If someone is going to a university then that means that they are going to be contributing to the country in a productive way. They spend so much money one making the school look good. They should spend money one expanding the school encouraging people to go for the greater education. With all of the crazy rich people in this country, why are they not doing anything to help people get into school. I'd think that they would want smart people working for them. Future generations should be getting smarter and smarter but they are not going to upgrade the average knowledge if they can't afford to learn the basics.

I think that the biggest issue is how much money that was spent on the election media!!!!!
Thats tons of cash we could use for uses besides campaigning.
Seriously? We are in a recession and they are spending 450 billion dollars on ads?

    November 4, 2010 at 4:05 pm |
  515. Katie

The economy is the biggest issue with way too many people without a job and so many families struggling. I also think Haiti is a huge issue with them still being hit by one thing after another. And we still need to give them their money that we promised them.

    November 4, 2010 at 4:08 pm |

Mostly the class size amendment. My teacher said if it passed we may have 40 or more kids in the class. That dosen't sound cool at all- there would be no elbow room to even go to bathroom.

I think the biggest issue is the environment because I believe health is more important than jobs. Pollution can harm people so we should be focusing more on making things greener.

    November 4, 2010 at 5:09 pm |
  522. Amy

The single biggest issue, for me would be, what should i believe? You would've heard so many things in the media, there's mixed emotions about everything and you just don't know what to do sometimes. I think its the feeling of being a betrayer to someone!

    November 4, 2010 at 5:30 pm |

wow! this is a tough question! the first thing that comes to mind is the economy. but there are plenty other problems, like the huge oil spill clean up, the war in afghanistan.

My biggest concern is more people will lose jobs, not enough education for us kids because of money being used to fix our capital buildings when it should be used for fixing streets.

    November 4, 2010 at 6:26 pm |
  527. Fiala

I think the biggest issue on my mind would be the economy. We need a person that will represent our economic needs. Someone that will find a way to get jobs to go up and ways to help us gain money instead of losing it like we have for a long time now. All I know is that if I were in that voting both I would pick a person that I know would guarantee a better life. At least in the economic part.

I think that the congress should let God help them run things because when he did we were very prosperous and strong. In the war of 1812 the British attacked washington D.C. and they burned the whole city, but while they were celebrating an enormous thunderstorm came through and put out the fires and it was so big that it even sproured a tornado, i belive that God did this to proctect the United States. God bless America.

Well, people just don't get it that voting is not about the politics.( well I guess it kinda is but really!) It's about who is the best for our country. I mean, our biggest problem right now is the money and the jobs. So really, our economy. Right now it is fighting against everything we have worked so hard to work and build up. It is just a shame that it is such a big waste and that the goverment hasn't decided to try harder to fix it up. This is a big concern to me and I wish the goverment would work harder to get our economy fixed up and running straight again. It would be really, really nice for prices on things not to be so high and then we would all have more money to spend on things like food than gas. It would be awsome for things to be normal again.

i think a big issue would be that many people want to cut jobs but that would include police, which we really need to keep us safe and sane, and to make sure that everyone is treated fairly firefighters, which we need to keep us safe, and teachers, which are very important because kids are the futur and if we are not educated..... well, that is just really bad news:(

My bigest conncern is about our country is our tax increse and our military war against afganistan and iraq and the most important one is the bombings in the U.S. and in the allied parts of iraq and afganistan. I think one of the biggest things is making sure the economy will become better, for it is OUR country's debt that is one of the biggest in the world. We also need to make sure that one of our main focuses is on our country. I understand that many things are happening around the world, but i beleive that we should focus on us until the economy is better, and that more than 50% of americans have jobs, for many things might be bad around the world, but right now at this moment, we have some of our own problems.

Personally I think that the biggest issue is the young voters not knowing who to vote for. They take the negative ads and say im not voting for the person being put down. They also might just automatically vote for the party that there parents are. You should not vote unless you reasearch and know who to vote for.

I think the biggest issue is our political parties, George Washington warned us against them, and i think that we should just vote for the people who we think will get the job done not because people are in one a certain party.

The thing I would be most worried about is the economy and how it isn't getting better, I know many families, including mine, are on a very tight budget that just keeps getting smaller.

  554. Christine

I think that we should think about our world and how we're destroying it. Every little thing we add to this earth, it takes up space and it uses things like trees to build it. We need to focus on how many things we're using and how it can harm the environment.

    November 4, 2010 at 10:22 pm |
  555. Gray

I believe that the only thing that should be going through voters' minds should be how their vote effects their country. I think that if voters knew exactly what their ballot would do, they might change it. I personally think we sould give the military greater funding. Help protect the people who protect our freedom.

    November 4, 2010 at 10:31 pm |
  556. LaVar

Well with all the concerns with the economy, I’d have to say; jobs. People need jobs for money to pay for bills and such. I’d be thinking about someone who would help provide, help find, and help teach the knowledge needed for jobs.

    November 4, 2010 at 10:45 pm |
  557. Louren

I think it is just all of the hate. You saw everyday before election day that canidates would put "Oh this person did this wrong, their the worst whatever in history." They put how others made wrongs and not how they will change those wrongs or what they will do to fix the USA. It is all hate not forgiveness and strength on how to fix it.

The biggest Issue i would have to say is the peopl have no jobs. even though people have gotten jobs not enough people have enough to support their families and its sad. And i think that they should open some vaccent houses or apartments to people that live on the street. And have more food drives.

    November 4, 2010 at 11:19 pm |

Most people are turning to the republicans now because the democrats controling washinhton haven't made fast enough change. I don't really care how fast the change happens, just as long as it does. thats what i think would be the main thing in my mind: who do i think could turn the economy around?

    November 5, 2010 at 1:46 am |
  561. pop

I don’t think injecting $600 billion into US market would reduce the unemployment rate and get US economy back on right track. Because of the economic globalization, US companies moved their factories to other developing countries and built jobs for their workers to obtain lower cost and make more profit, but after that how about the domestic workers in US? Where are their jobs? So the most important problem is not the exchange rate and giving more money to the market, it is that the creations of US are going down on a ramp, or say the American people didn’t make their creations into new industries, so the old industries are going out but new industries we still don’t know where they are. Now what we need to do is to make our creations into new industries and generate more creations, so the new industries from our new ideas and creations will absorb more US workers, and boost US economy. A virtuous cycle will be made when we make our creations into new industries and make more profit, at the same time the old ones go to developing countries.

I think this is what President Obama needs to think about.

I think my biggest concern would be about the casino because I think bringing a casino here would/will be a bad idea. Because for one it will make it a lot busier up here with more people coming and going. And two we already have enough problems going on around here we don't need to add to them by a casino in Maine, if people want a casino so bad they can go some where else.

My biggest concern is the economy. Being a senior in high school I am going to have to pay for college soon. The economy being how it is, it will be extremely hard to pay just about every thing.

The biggest issue on my mind is the casino that may be built in oxford county. I think it is a good thing and it will help our economy with the taxes made from it.

    November 5, 2010 at 10:40 am |
  567. Connor

I think people need to focus on the real issues like our economy and stop spending so much money on advertising campaigns for their party. Republicans and Democrats are wasting time fighting eachother when they need to let people vote for who they really are, not how good they can fight.

    November 5, 2010 at 10:41 am |
  568. Courtney

I think the biggest issue right now is getting more jobs in the U.S. and instead of waisting billions of dollars on thinking it may add jobs we need to know it will make jobs. In some places the governments actcidents are costing jobs that we don't have to loose.

    November 5, 2010 at 11:04 am |

i think that we should stop worrying about the ads on TV, and start worry bout real things. GLOBAL WARMING! By 2012our world should be on it way to heading to nothing, if we don't stop wasting our money on wars and other useless thing, our world is gonna be turning into nothing.

I would be worried about which candidate would support the 600 billion that the federal bank is about to push into the market. That amount of money will take a while to circulate and will look great for about a year then the value of the dollar will tank and our economy may be even worse off. If a candidate was for that it would be guaranteed that I am not about to support them.

I think jobs are the most important aspect of the economy. (The governors' race) says that this guy is bringing this state down the toilet, and the Governor himself says that it is not going under. I really am confused who to vote for now.

I think the biggest issue going into a voting both is who is going to help our country the most in these economic times we need to just worry about that instead of giving money away to other countrys like Hati

I believe that the biggest problem the goverment and U.S. citizens are facing right now is the ecomomy.I think the goverment should start focusing on that, instead of spending money on the small things that barely make a difference in are daily lives.I think the first thing the goverment should do is create a budget.Thats what we all should be doing. Then once they know what to spend on and how much the goverment won't be borrowing from foreign countries. And we will all have less taxes to pay and less money we'll have to pays for groceries and other items needed to live our life

    November 5, 2010 at 5:30 pm |

I think the biggest issue in the midterm elections is too much spending. Campaigning is allot of money gone to waste. Plus if you lose the primary you can change your party.

I dont know about other people. We can never has a perfect canidate. No one can appeal to all of our desires. Therefore, we can not have a perfect economy. I want a governor who can do the most with what he has. I want someone to focus on education, this is our future. We hold the key for whats in store. Oil spills, job losses, and recessions need to be considered. What is in need for greater thought is who is going to deal with things like that in the future.

Even if the country gets better our unemployment rate is still unbelievably high. Our country is still not hiring. But the country getting better is a small step for the employment rate to get higher and our unemployment rate to go down.

one of the things on my mind is that who ever wins i hope they are ready to make a big change in how california spends and resieves thier money also... they need to make sure they dont spend money without an thing to back that up because then we would be in more trouble than we already are......

  596. Haley

The biggest issue with voting is that when the people are voting they seriously have no clue what there doing. Most of the time thats why most people that have the privilege to vote never do because they don't know who to vote for and why to vote for them. Another problem is that since people don't know who to vote for they might vote for the wrong person which goes to are economy which would get even worse and people would start going bankrupt and most people would lose there jobs and it would be like a two year old putting money through the shredder. Which basically is a huge game of sorry or monopoly.

I'm just happy the stupid commercials, computer adds, phone calls, and radio adds are finally over so now I can listen to my radio in peace.

I think the biggest issue is money and how the government is losing it.
I know people say money can't buy everything but people are homeless and need a job and money can get that.

Mine would be the economy. Our job rate has lowered this and last year and many families are loosing their jobs. It has also become a lot harder to get a job. Many families, and people are struggling with this problem.

  612. Kyle

Politics aren't my strong suit so I don't care as long as something changes and provides at least a vague solution to our current issues in our nation RIGHT NOW.

i think the most important issue is that the people in the government will keep their promises.

    November 6, 2010 at 10:20 pm |
  614. Maggie

I think the greatest thing right now is the economy or creating new jobs. We were digging a big hole, I just hope we can get out of it by next year.

what you put online can be hurtful and innapropreiate in a lot of ways to many people and people use that as an advantage towards others. when that is done you can have a disadvantage

The biggest issue on my mind is the war in Afghanistan. Thousands of American soldiers are being killed in Afghanistan. The Afghan war is the biggest issue on my mind.

    November 7, 2010 at 1:16 pm |
  620. Amanda

I believe that our BIGGEST issue is jobs! People are becoming homeless and with the job rate not doing so good. That's why I believe that is our biggest issue.

    November 7, 2010 at 3:53 pm |
  621. Aubreyanna

If i were in the voting booth my biggest issue would be probably who ever is right there and right on task.

My biggest issue would have to be which person would make this world a better place. What choices would they make?

    November 7, 2010 at 5:29 pm |
  623. Davis

Our biggest issue is the budget. We need to balance it in a way that will not only keep public utilities at their best, but also keep the American people happy.

    November 7, 2010 at 6:18 pm |
  624. Lucy

In my opinion, the biggest issue is all three yes or no questions. I think people's decision on those questions will not only affect the state or government and the way things are running, but it will also affect the way the new Governor does things.

    November 7, 2010 at 7:55 pm |
  625. Alex

My largest problem in my mind is whether or not I should vote for the democrats or the republicans. The Democrats are D for drive, while the Replubicans are R for reverse. The idea is clear: I will vote for the replubicans, as I'm sure so many other people will. Everyone just wants a change from the "you know what" party.

    November 7, 2010 at 7:56 pm |
  626. delores

my biggest issue is making the world a better place, and we cant do that with this bad economy.

    November 7, 2010 at 9:54 pm |
  627. Rachel

I think the biggest issue is people not voting.People actally didnt have the right to vote before they fought for women rights. So now that we do they dont vote. I wouldnt force the public to vote(since they actally do have the right to vote) but i would persauade the audience to vote because its actally a right.

    November 7, 2010 at 11:39 pm |
  628. Laura

The biggest issue is the future. What will we accomplish in the next few years regarding recovery of our damaged nation and our struggling environment? Is it all down hill from here? Our future is in the hands of the new governors, senators and other elected people. When we voted we thought of kids, money, health care, money to pay for these things and this all involves you guessed it, the future.

    November 8, 2010 at 12:56 am |
  629. Jasmine

The biggest issue by far is the economy. The election put new people in congress and hopefully they can fix the economy. We should worry about our own country before we fix other countries.

    November 8, 2010 at 8:11 am |
  630. Tosha

who will i vote for, why am i voting for this person, and am i democrat or rebuplican? what will change in this world if i vote for this person what will make a difference, will they make the economy better or make it worse, will the prices go down or will they raise? This is what i would think of why i am standing there voting in my booth!

    November 8, 2010 at 9:38 am |
  631. Jasmine

My biggest issue is......why am i voting foe this person?,I dont even know this person,And what are they going to do for my country? The person i would vote for would have to give me a good reason to vote...this is what i would think of if i was standing in line going to vote:)

    November 8, 2010 at 9:38 am |

I really think that the econnomy is the most important issue in the election.

    November 8, 2010 at 10:18 am |
  634. Evan

The biggest issue for me would be the economy. It is difficult to be happy when you are getting kicked out of your appartment and can't buy any holiday gifts.

    November 8, 2010 at 12:10 pm |
  635. shawn

  637. Austin

the economy is the biggest problem,,...... we are over a trillion dollars in debt thats $1,000,000,000,000$ so the economy is the biggest problem by far.

I think the biggest issue you think of is if you chose this person what is he/she going to do to help our econmy.

    November 8, 2010 at 2:45 pm |
  639. Savannah

I wish that someone would pass a law or something that would create a lot of controversy. It may not be good controversy, but at least it would get all of the adults out of this Political-Economic funk that they think they're not in, but they really are.

    November 8, 2010 at 4:19 pm |
  640. Veronica

I think that everything is an issue. But the most important issue would be the economy. It is the biggest thing hitting the country because it is causing other things to happen. It is causing job loss, bankruptcy, foreclosure, etc.

    November 8, 2010 at 4:20 pm |
  641. Gina

I'd say that the biggest issue is "what will come out of this person?". I dont want to vote a certain party just because he/she is popular. I'd want to make sure they are a good person before casting my vote.

    November 8, 2010 at 4:25 pm |
  642. Joshua

I would say the biggest issue would be choosing the right person and to see if that person in capable of doing the right thing to help the economy

    November 8, 2010 at 4:45 pm |
  643. Gloria

i think that the biggest issue now would be choosing who to vote for just like Josh said (is that okay with you joshua if i call you josh) when your in that booth there is so much pressure on you

    November 8, 2010 at 5:38 pm |
  644. BRIAN

If I was old enough to vote I would want to vote for somebody

    November 8, 2010 at 6:20 pm |

The biggest issue would to me be the wrong person in office. The peoples who are elegible need to vote.Every vote counts!

    November 8, 2010 at 6:22 pm |
  646. Sully

If I was old enough to vote I would say the biggest issue is if the person would lower taxes and help the economy.

    November 8, 2010 at 6:27 pm |
  647. Rhett

The big issue is by far the economy. I think that with all the money the government has they should give more to help our school funding.

    November 8, 2010 at 7:52 pm |
  648. Alexa

i think that the biggest issue is "what will other people think?"
"is this the right choice, i like this person because of this but the other guy for this?!" if i was in this situation i wouldn't vote or i would just choose one and hope its a good choice.

    November 9, 2010 at 12:20 am |

I think the biggest isue is schools. If our kids arn't educated well, our future is not looking to good.

    November 9, 2010 at 9:52 am |

I don't think there is a bigest isue. They are all important.

My biggest issue is the pay cuts at jobs which will lead us into getting paid less

    November 10, 2010 at 1:44 pm |
  656. Zuriah

If I were voting, I would be most concerned about the education funds, because the kids of today are going to all be the future of this country. We need to keep it good.

    November 10, 2010 at 1:47 pm |
  657. Bobby

I think the biggest issue is who is going to win and what are they going to do to try and help people with their jobs and not loosing their homes

    November 10, 2010 at 3:08 pm |
  658. Sara

My biggest issue is that the wrong person would win. When you vote you are wanting them to win. If they don't win then you may be concerned for what may come.

    November 10, 2010 at 3:36 pm |
  659. Carly

I believe my biggest worry is the economy, and whether or not our government will be able to step it up and get it back together and running again. But another worry of mine; how is our leaders going to and when are they going to retreat from war in Iraq. Because far as i'm concerned families aren't getting their family, friends, and parents back due to not pulling back, I think its about time, it's been about 8 1/2 years now.

    November 10, 2010 at 3:39 pm |
  660. mckenna

you really have to focus on who you are voting for people!!

    November 10, 2010 at 8:23 pm |
  661. Rosalind

I would think about what that person is going to do for me. Will they help us and fix problems? Or will they just "let things slide"? You really have to think about your choice!

    November 11, 2010 at 7:17 pm |
  662. Tierra

I think the biggest issue is who is going to win and what are they going to do to try and help people with their jobs and not loosing their homes.

School funding is what I would think about because its not fair for us kids having to not have everything we possible can to learn. WE NEED EDUCATION!
