Biggest Issues of 2010

As promised, here's our call-out for your opinions on what will be the biggest issues of 2010.  On Friday's show, you hear some students talk about the economy and college costs.  Tell us what's on your mind as cold weather bears down, flight safety is questioned, the health care debate rages on, midterm elections approach, the economy struggles to get on its feet...  And let us know what you'd like to see done about the issues that America faces.

Our economy is falling apart. We should work to help us get back on track. This could be a struggle in 2010.

I think the biggest issue of 2010 is ..... The economy is struugeling to keep up with listening and paying pepol for the stuff they do. They need to understand that pepol work hard and they are trying to support there families. I understand that it is a difficult and they try really hard but that is no excuse so they need to get things under control!

I think that they should lower the costs so all of the students who go there can get a better education. If it stays the same,I think some students would want to drop out of there. I know I would.

Flight safety has always been strict, but not tight. The normal check up is removal of shoes, inspection of carry ons, and metal detector. The strict check through at the airports shouldn't only be at those certain countries in Mid-west Asia in my own personal opinion. I would like to see America at least try to resolve the terrorist issue and the flight safety inspection.

One thing that always bothered me is that you can never look up into the night sky and see a clear view of the stars. I believe that light pollution is a large issue that America needs to face. Since I live in Hawaii, too many lights can confuse birds and turtles. I'm not entirely sure what the solution is, but I know this is a problem.

I'm not an American. But I think economy issue is much important than other issues.

The 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the Winter Olympics that is held in vancouver is the biggest issue. Because it is a festival that all people around the world watch it.

I think the biggest issues of 2010 will be about the Global warming.
The Global warming is important because it is about whole earth.

President Barack Obama announced a new education program which focus on math and science. Because math and science are inevitably important subjects to enhance our competitive position in world today and future. But just providing training to new and current teachers will not be enough to increase student test scores and to be practically effective in normal life. So, more important thing is to encourage students to be interested in those subjects in early life by natural contacts related to those subjects(That natural contacts might be done by another new education program,,,I think.) and then math and science will be interesting subjects which is not boring or not be pressured by teachers, parents or government.

The bigest issues this year are security/terrorism, funding for different things and education. Education should be cheaper or the government should give out more money for scholar ships.

I think that we really need to wrap up health care reform, and move on to some other looming issues such as the environment. It's critical that we do more for our planet, so that we can start to recover from all of the damage we've done so far.

We are concerned about jobs when we are old enough to work, budget cuts for schools, H1N1 (for those who did not get the shot), and energy.

The biggest problem for this year is the death penalty and losing jobs my parents already got laid off and they can't make any money so now we are almost broke

I think what we need is more security in air ports. We need better scanners, and more efficient technology, to scan for things that could become an issue. If we can't do anything to protect our country, can we do anything to save the country from the horrible economy?

I think one of the problems that is facing America is the amount of teen "dropouts". I can name at least five people who have just given up. They all have the same reason why they did and they say it was because there schools have told them to do so, that way it will be a better environment around the school campus.

One of the problems 2010 holds is higher taxes. That is what is bad about Liberals and Obama, they like to tax people too much.

I think the biggest isue in 2010 will be mostly are economy and global enviorment i think we should now focus on the enviorment and be more aware such as global warming or the greenhouse effect. are planet can change rapidly. are earth climate could change with just a 1 degree increase in the climate we could face natural disasters such as extremly hot climate and melting glaciers this can cause a crisis. also water is becoming scarce in are planet we need to start saving water NOW it should of been done a long time ago but we are still not to late.

Despite the public's dissatisfaction with the emerging healthcare reform plan, that issue isn't the biggest drag on President Obama's popularity. As it is during every recession, the public's biggest problem with the president is unemployment and spending.

I think flight safety is a big issue. Now because of the bomber ,people will be worried about riding planes probaly bringing down the profits for airlines .I think they should check more people including the airplane staff more throughly and make the detecors more effiencent.

Hey carl the biggest issue that I will like for america to face is are global enviroment. I would enjoy if we could start growing back some of our trees and stop cutting them. We are coming to a time where there is no need for us to cut trees so we need to get the rainforest back!

I think the biggest issue of 2010 will be flight safety because of all the attempted terror attacks on planes.

I think a big problem is going to be about getting the economy on it's feet. Most people are expecting it to get back on it's feet in 2010 and if it don't then it's going to be a big problem.

The flight safety should be questioned because the saftey of the citizens comes first. Also the airport security should have been more aware of the incident that happened in 2010.

  28. Natalia

I think that the biggest issues of 2010 will be that students; it will be harder for them to get into schools because od college costs and the economy. The gas prices will go down once the cold weather bears down. Since of the cold it would be harder to take off because of snow storms. But maily the biggest issue would probrably be about the ecomony. People would go into depression and less people would be living in the streets from all the help they are receiving.

The biggest problems as of now would be the gas prices and the dropping value of homes. Another big one is unemployment and loss of jobs all over the world.

biggest issues is health care debat and war on terror

    January 8, 2010 at 11:57 am |

I think that in 2010 lots of thinks are going to happen like the economy might get better, and i don't think the health care debate will ever end.

    January 8, 2010 at 11:58 am |
  39. Joe

The biggest issue that I think that the country will face this year is the economy and the war. I think this is because if we end the war this year we still have the debt meaning the lousy economy. If we take care of these two issues then the country will have an easier time fixing the problems of unemployment and education.

maybe the economy is a hot choice among most of us,but I would like to put enviroment on issue #1 in 2010,it counts all, without a harmony one, economy means NOTHING

I think the biggest issue is flight safety and then the weather 'cause it's like freeezzziiinnnggg outside and I hate freezing so yeah.

    January 8, 2010 at 12:41 pm |
  44. phat

i think some of the biggest issues are the under ware bomber guy and all of are saceruity to get in air ports. also we are having trouble with the weather in flordia and all of the sothern states are colder then usaull.

    January 8, 2010 at 12:42 pm |
  45. Fredo

I think that homelessness is going to be a big issue in 2010. Like you said on CNN, all of those people are homeless. It makes you think that is it is that bad now, how it will be like in a few months? It is just so upsetting that all of those people are out there right now, in the freezing weather. I think this might be a huge issue in 2010.

    January 8, 2010 at 12:43 pm |
  46. Neverland

I don’t know what to think. I feel we should be doing something about the state we are in, but with this economy I don’t think we should spend too much more. It is bad enough we’re in debt. We don’t need to get in any deeper. I feel helpless.

    January 8, 2010 at 12:43 pm |
  47. Christopher

I think the biggest issues are going to be the war that we are facing in iraq. Its already going downhill with the troops problem so i think its just going to get real bad.

    January 8, 2010 at 12:44 pm |
  48. Sciencefreak

I think that one of the biggest issues of 2010 is the college costs. The people going to college now will affect the future of the world, and if the only kids going to college are people that can afford college, that’s cutting a large amount of the more intelligent population. That will affect who will be our doctors, who will make our laws, and WHAT THE GOVERNMENT WILL LOOK LIKE. This is our future we’re talking about. Don’t put it to waste.

I think that the biggest issue of 2010 is probably the unemployment. people are getting laid off so much. i think that the mayor and people of the town should help them gett some foood and maybe a job.

    January 8, 2010 at 12:47 pm |
  51. Jose

I think we might have a flight safety issue because the metal detectors didnt go off when that guy tried to blow up that plane. so i think we need to focus on flight safety.

I think the midterm election will be huge news. It will help decide what party has more control because right now republicans can not spot any thing.

    January 8, 2010 at 12:48 pm |
  53. .

I think some of the biggest issues of 2010 in America are the cost of school, un-employment, and the cold weather and it's effect on businesses. I think that the cost of college should go down so more students can attend, and I also think that the un-employment number should go down. If college prices go down, more people can go to college, and if more people can go to college, then there will be more people having jobs. That would really help the economy.

I think that the issues happening right now were coming anyways. The flying issue was because are security has lowered its standards becuase nothing has happened lately.

I first would love to see the price of college go down. Not much people have $20,000 in their pockets or in the bank for that matter. I believe all or most people who want to go to college can't, baecause they dont have the money. Second, this weather is horrible. All across the country, the weather freezing. In Florida! the iguanas are freezing, but not dying. Is spring ever going to come and put an end to this?

First, The war in afganistan will be difficult to keep the upper hand, especially after the deaths of those top CIA agents who were right on osama bin laden's tail. Second, we may be out of the recession but America needs to recover and pay off our debts as fast as we can. But unimployement Is still high, we need to lower it.

So far it's been the weather. Its snowing and doesn't seem to be stopping and it's making the conditions. People don't know what and how the roads can get in this type of weather which makes it very dangerous.

Gas prices went up, maybe becasue of the cold weather. People can't pay for it especially because so many people don't have jobs. People need to start using bikes and start walking to work or school.

the most thing I want to see improve is this recession. I mean the sales prices are skyrocketing to an all time high. when the recession started the whole p[opulation freaked out, and the health care is a biggy. thanks

  60. Raiyne

I feel that the college costs should decrease because of the economy. Most of the people in America are in a deep hole, meaning their lives are in a crisis and they are in debt. Also, i think that America is supposed to be the land of the free, not the land of the poor.

I think that the economy and the amount of money in the U.S.A are the biggest issues of 20-10. I think these are the biggest issues because over the years, the economy has gotten worse, leading to the problem of inflation and money loss. If the problem with the economy is fixed, I belive that the money problem will be fixed as well

    January 8, 2010 at 1:15 pm |
  63. Jacob

Our biggest problems are the war for oil and the recssesion we need to stop fighting for oil and find a new fuel to stop fighting for it and we need more public programs to get the people more jobs with taxes to help pay off our dept to China and other forign nations.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:18 pm |
  64. Goose

i think they should lower all of the costs of the schools. everything is going up, including the unenployment rate. also think the war will go on for longer than the president expected and he will not pull the troops out. there might be another bombing situation too.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:36 pm |

i think the economy will get better, and prices for college will go down,

    January 8, 2010 at 1:37 pm |

The main issue that the new year brings is safety. Media and newspaper only make it worst by repeating the situation over and over again which terroizes the publics. Homeland security needs to tighten up securities and President Obama needs to take immient actions to prevent these harm to ever occur again. .

    January 8, 2010 at 1:37 pm |
  67. lex

I think one of the biggest isues of 2010 is that it will be very very hard to find jobs for everyone, especailly people right out of high school. I think that less people will be going to college because they cant get jobs and cant afford it.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:37 pm |
  68. +Tinkerbelll . !

The Biggest Issues of 2010 are money problems, the economy, employment, and collgege tuition. The economy isnt doing very well because of people in debt, and not having enough money for cerrtain needed things. Not only that, but the gass prices are being raised so it is harder for people to pay for otther things. We need a change.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:40 pm |
  69. alalalaa

i think that the most important issues are the econemy and unemployment. I think that the governtment should make more jobs so then there wont be as much unemployment. I think that they should keep working on fixing the economey. Also. the national debt is important too. we should stop worrying about afghanistan and bring the troops home so we wont have a even bigger debt.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:40 pm |

i think this year will improve from last

I think that important issues of 2010 are employment, national debt, education, and war. I would like to have cheaper college pricings, because everyone should havethe chance to go to college, and some people don't even think about it because of the high prices. The war also needs a lot of work. And the national debt she be looked over, and we should think of a way to get rid of the debt.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:41 pm |
  72. bob

I think the biggest problem of 2010 is the unimployment. people need to be able to have jobs. people with families can't support them. they need to stop laying people off.

  73. pandas

i think that what happens ,happens , and it might happen for the worst or for the best doesnt really matter . its life we will just live throghh it and yeah its cold and windy but we will deal with it not a big deal for the end of the world so thats what is going on sorry if i dont really answer what you want me to say 🙂

    January 8, 2010 at 1:42 pm |
  74. Lexi

I think the biggest issue of 2010 will be poverty. i think a lot of people will be out of jobs and houses. I think college will also be a big issue because the prices are going up for college so i think the amount of poeple going to college will go down.

i think that the biggest issues of 2010 with be education and money. Because people will be losing their jobs and whatnot. So then students won't be able to pay for college.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:44 pm |
  78. Katy

I think that rebuilding the economy will be one of the issues in 2010. Although it does seem to be getting a little bit better, it definitely could use a lot more work. Also, helping the schools so students will get a better education. Smarter people will help America become a stronger, better country. I do think that college should be more inexpensive. Some people do want to get a good job but can't if they don't have the money to get into college.

With the economy in the state it is the biggest issues of 2010 that I believe, are unemployment and the price on things like oil and college tuitions.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:46 pm |
  81. Marietta

I believe that the major complications that will be made in the year of 2010, will have to do with the economy. Unemployment will have huge increase in percentage, and sadly will be spreading across the nation rapidly. I agree with the students talking about how expensive college is, and how the prices should be brought down, or more scholarships given out. Gas prices may also sky-rocket and become a huge problem for almost everyone. With the economy being so terrible, it forces many people onto the street, and without a life. As you may be able to notice, the main issues at hand all have to deal with the economy. Also, President Obama's actions, and presidency will be tested will be tested this year. With the strating of the new year, many problems will be at hand.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:46 pm |
  82. Frik

I think the biggest issues in 2010 are school and thier prices. School is a lot. They want us to stay in school but it cost so much for it. People can't go to school because it cost so much. They want to go to college but it costs a lot of money so its harder for people to get jobs.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:47 pm |
  83. Kc

With what america faces at this moment I believe, that the government should lower the costs for schooling and we should also open up more jobs and options. We should also support more of our troops that are out fighting a war with the government not backing them up as they should.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:47 pm |
  84. Don't ask for my name!!!

College prices are going up and that's not good. People with low income should get a free to low expense scholarship.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:48 pm |
  85. MadeLine

I think those students that want to go to college and they can't go because it cost to much. And the environment is also going to be a problem for people, kids, and the government. And also taxes are going to have problems too. I think they are going to go up and people will not be able to pay them because people are spending money on college for there kids or for themselves.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:49 pm |
  86. ROBBIE

i think the drug issue will be the most effective in the year 2010,also i think the number of deaths will be another big issue.!!!!!

  87. Dayna

the biggest issue in 2010 is the economy and college costs. first off i think the economy is bad becase they dont really do anything about it, n second off i think the collge cost should be chepper because some people want to go to college but they cant aford it

    January 8, 2010 at 1:50 pm |

The environment is bad. The biggest isshue of 2010 is the education and money. Money has been a great deal to us. Education is very valubable and as the days go on we aren't learning as much as we should. Life with education is very succesful but life with no money is not succesful. It has seemed as if all people think about is money. Money is a key to succesful, but as people get out of school it seems that were not getting any smarter.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:51 pm |
  89. Tristan

I think that students really need to step up and try to get better grades so they will not come out of school without an education so they would be without a job.

People trying to make the government a BIG government when it is supposed to be a small one, you know? It is what it is, and it shouldn't change but, you people can think what you want, and Try to do what you want to do, It was meant to be a small government!

The cold weather might be fun, but it makes people starve on crumbs! These terrorists must suffer! My friend Keith said terrorists think they will go to heaven, but not. the health care problems can be an issue sometimes, but the worst area with it all is around vice city. There is alot of gangs there. My sister told me that. All in all, this sounds like bad news to me. 🙁 And if this continues, we might starve to death.

It's hard to c so many people losing their jobs.. so many people on unemployment, and so much more people homeless on skid row.
I think its awsome that General Jeff is doing for the people on skid row.

I think the biggest problem we're facing or going to face in this new year is MOST LIKELY the economy in general, the high prices on EVERYTHING: gas prices, groceries, heating bills, *college payments* that you talked about in the video, etc.

Gas Money is way too too HIGH

It's the job losses. The job rate is not that good or not at all. But it is getting better. I hope it will get even better so every one can have a job but I don't thing that will happen, and the gas prices. They are way to high. Regular gas was almost an high as the diesel. That is not rite.

    January 8, 2010 at 1:55 pm |

I think the biggest issues that is to come in 2010 is the amount of jobs being lost and the amount of people that can't afford to buy things like food.

i think that the war in iraq will continue being a big issue. The war in iraq because President Obama during his campaign said that he wanted to take out the soldiers from iraq and i believe that was one of the reasons Americans voted for him. He has done the exact opposite.

i think the biggest problem of 2010 will be terrorism due to the screw-up of the government not responding to the message.

  104. Gabrielle and Heidi

another issue that will continue in 2010 is the war because if we don't solve the problem then the econmy won't improve due to the constant money we pump into it.

  105. lyndsey

one of the biggest pobloems of 2010 could be the war issue. We w'ould need ot find a plan to safely sen dback our troops and restore peace in the Middle East!

    January 8, 2010 at 2:08 pm |
  106. Alejandra

This year, we will have to face more bomb plots from the middle east and the health care debate will hopefully be finished and everyone will have compromised on what to do with it. The economy will hopefully get better, and it probably will, but at a slow pace. College fees need to go down because many students can't afford to get an education and it's not fair.

    January 8, 2010 at 2:08 pm |
  107. Jasmine

The biggest thing that I think will happen in 2010 is that the gas prices will grow greater and the war in Iraq will probably continue and make matters worse. I'd like to see that the war just dies down and that gas prices lower.

    January 8, 2010 at 2:09 pm |
  108. Robert

The biggest issue I think is Terrorism. First off, it creates a strain on our economy by fighting it. Next, people are getting hurt and/or killed.

  109. Joseph

I know for a fact that this new year will definitely bring plenty of issues to check and try to work out. But, from the issues you have mentioned in my opinion, the economy is the most important. I think its the most important issue of 2010 because myself and everyone else's future will surely be effected by the turn out of this economy.

I think that they should adress unemployment in 2010. I keep hearing that the umemployment percentage keep rising and I don't think that they are doing as well as they can to resolve this problem.

The biggest issue of 2010 will be the unemployment rates because more people are getting fired and it can cause jobs to decrease..

I think the same as the college students as will it is to hight of cost to go to college.

i think college costs are very high. i also thik that with the economy that it is just not right. the health care debate is getting very crazy and is getting very out of control. they are giving so many ideas that are very differnt.

The biggest issue of 2010 is un employment because many people do not have jobs to support them selves

    January 8, 2010 at 2:21 pm |
  118. Nicole

The big issues that I see happening in 2010 is the economy is either going to go up a little, or down. The war in Afganistan is probably going to get a lot worse, but I hope that they bring troops home. Another problem is all the people that are unemployed. I think if the economy goes back up a little then the people can start getting jobs and people will hopefully stop losing theirs. At least I hope that will happen this year. One more thing is that I hope the school tuiton goes down a little. I am only a freshman but I don't want to pay a lot of money when the time comes.I really hope we can solve all of these issues by the end of 2010.

    January 8, 2010 at 2:22 pm |
  119. Jaqui

What I think is the biggest issue of 2010 is the economy and the war that's going to strart now in Afghanistan. The war will most likely bring more economical issues. Right now, we're in a recession and it's very bad because there are a lot of people without jobs and they need to pay thier bills. I think with this war starting soon, there will probably be more people without jobs and less money. Because of the economy being very bad I think that school tution should go down because college is important to a lot of people and the economy isn't really helping. My opinion is that college tuition should go down.

Ok there are going to be a lot of issues in this new year. Like we might have another economy crash. Or even we might have a lot of heat waves. If that might be the case then guess what we might have to take more action than we should. I know...I know this is too much to type but hey it's true. I mean the economy crash might happen. There might be a major heat wave. We don't know only time will tell.

I think that this year in 2010, there will be alot of changes hopelfully in the government. I sorta think that the economy might lead back into a despression due to how much the government is in debt. Also another thing i think will happen in 2010 is that there might be more terrorist attacks due to the lack of security for the government on flights and other certain things. Yet again, there is also another thing i have in mind and that happens to be on how much the gas price has been scaling up and down. I feel like the economy is spiraling out of control.

i think that the biggest issue in 2010 are going to be: Money, economy! Having our soldiers away and more money! The more we send soldiers over the more it cost for us Americans it will put us in more debt than we already are and our economy is just getting on its feet slowly! This will be hard for the kids because we have have our own issues like our college fee's and being in debt will just make it hard for us and the drop out rates will decrease!!! We also have to worry about our education like job wise
    THE END

I think that in 2010 things will get worse.. But better. Well that is until Our President decides to barow more money and china stops giving us things we need.. Yeah.. Then We'll be in trouble... Over all it will just get worse.

    January 8, 2010 at 2:55 pm |

One of the biggest problems of 2010 is gas prices. If they keep going up pretty soon no one is going to be able to afford to get gas for their automobiles. We need our cars to get from place to place and without gas our cars won’t work. Our cars pollute the air and are causing global warming because of the gas going into the air. Some people are starting to buy hybrids to stop the pollution, but all the rest of us that still have regular cars are still polluting the air. Also some people use cars that go on batteries and that is good. If we do run out of gas then we all would probably just buy cars that run on batteries.

I think that the biggest issues in 2010 are going to be money , money, money. People still are going to be losing there jobs and being stuck out on the street. . Also I think that there are going to be a lot of illegal imagrants .

We have a lot of problems that need 2 be fixed in the USA. To start off with, I believe we need to figure out a way to fix up our debts. And help citizens with there debts. I know it’s going to take time, but a little goes a long way. There’s also, our problem with Global Warming our climate changes over the years are changing our world. And we have a major problem with spreading rumors and gossip. When there’s so much in the world to do, that we really shouldn’t have time to follow Celebrities.

The way I see it the U.S.'s biggest issue is either our Economy including our deficit or the war in Afghanistan. Our deficit is horrible and other country's are going to start wanting their money. The war is getting worse. I can't imagine us getting out of it in a year like they say (McCrystal and Obama), but the best thing to do is to be optimistic about the whole situation. God bless America, because we need it.

i think that school, money, and war are the biggest conserns. schools because they are going to need money ....and espetioly coliges because they are sop expensive most people cant aford it. so hopfuly more scolor ship chanses will come up for people. money cause taxes, gass, oil and ripares caust alot of money these days. war cause soljers whant to go home and obam just keeps making more people go back.

I think the biggest issues of 2010 will be the unemployment. If people dont have jobs they wont be able to afford anything. People should be more aware of this problem because if they dont change it now, how will they stop it once it gets to be a bigger problem. Because it is at its peak right now.

    January 8, 2010 at 5:03 pm |
  154. Nighthawk

I think we should focus on the economy and the unemployment rate. The rate of unemployment is sky rocketing and people will lose homes. People will kill just to get a job. This should not happen and we need to act now!!

Issues I think that would become more clear this year is that the job search for some people will grow stronger and build more careers for the unemployed. I also think that the issues with the wars and terrorists will stay at about the same. Prices of items will slowly go down without winter but go back up slowly with more problems to come.

    January 8, 2010 at 5:06 pm |
  158. alexis

I think that someone is going to bomb us. Sadly i also think that someone is going to try to kill obama. I also feel that the economy is going to rise back up. We will all live hapily ever after.

  159. Sue

I think college prices will be a big problem in 2010. People can't afford a lot of things today and they probably will have a problem sending their children to college. College will be a hard thing for people to afford. That means less people attending and fewer class numbers, I think they should give more scholarship opertunitys for people in need.

    January 8, 2010 at 5:07 pm |
  160. ali

i think some of the biggest issues will be unemployment, homelessness, and debt. With the econmy bad, there will be more poeple that are getting laid off and more companies going down. People will not be able to get a well paying job so they will end up in debt or be homeless. I think these are very big issues and need to be brought up to people.

I think there will be many big issues in 2010. One issue would have to be the economy. We are in such a huge amount of debt, so it will be a really long time for the country to get out of it. Another big issue would be the amount of students dropping out of school. So many high schoolers have been dropping out, so it may increase. Another one will be the amount of people who are unemployed. The amount of unemployed people will continue increasing with this economy we have now.

    January 8, 2010 at 5:10 pm |

I think the issues we have with 2010 is we still have alot of homeless. Also our troops are still over seas fighting. We are still in a depression and we arn't making much progress getting out.

I can't beleive that 2010 has issues already. I would have to say that the airline terrorist attack on Christmas was the worst. I do beleive that we have a strong army, but obviously they are speding most of there time in other countries! We need to bring them back! Also, airports should have another security check at the airline gates. If this happens, i beleive that this will help....alot!

    January 8, 2010 at 5:29 pm |
  169. Nate

I think the biggest and hardest issue of 2010 is unemployment rates. People need money to pay for bills, food, and other necessities. There are way too many people getting fired, and they cannot do anything to support themselves financially.

    January 8, 2010 at 5:31 pm |
  170. Alicia

I think that there will be some tough, possibly unresolvable issues in 2010. First, I think that one huge issue is debt. We are trillions of dollars and debt and it seems we are doing nothing to fix it. Also, I think another big problem is war. That is not helping contribute to the major issue of debt. Finally, I think that the last big issue is education. I think this because education is getting more and more expensive with each passing day. How will the next generation be able to go to school if its hard to get to school now?

    January 8, 2010 at 5:33 pm |

The biggest issue will be the economy. Whether anything will go up and down, the job rates, and the prices of merchandise being sold worldwide, let alone in the U.S. The issue of this has caused havoc and may not get better until we're off to collage.

    January 8, 2010 at 8:10 pm |

the problem in 2010 is that the economy rates are going up by a little but still are firing ssome people. they should keep the people. they should stop firing people becausethey are giving the people no more money and home less and just caring for the company. the world should change. they should care about other people and not there difference

Now most people will think about unemployment and the homeless when they think of issues everyone fails to realize what is happening to the animals of this country million were put down last year due to neglect, abandonment, and just not finding a home. Animals are creatures too, they can't tell you what has happend in their life and what they would like. Hurting an animal is like hurting a baby. I don't get why this isn't an important issue. Sure homeless people are in need but to me that's their choice there are jobs out there not always excelent jobs, but enough to keep you alive. Animals who are put on the street hav no place to go to, and they can't talk so they can't say help me please my owner left me out to die please help me. People how can't afford to take on their animals anymore leave them on the street to die. Some are born there. Most don't even know the feeling of love. Just going to a shelter and holding an animal can help. They need more help than anyone does this year on my opion.

I Think the biggest issue of 2010 is the economy and the cost to go to college because the cost of tuition to living expences and books. The economy because alot of people lost there jobs because the economy

first of all, america needs more employment jobs, second we need to lower the cost for college because many people want an education, but can't pay for it.

From the last few years, it looks like we're gonna continue to deal with the financial crisis and unemployment rates for maybe a few years into the new decade. This is probably the closest thing the world has ever experienced since the Great Depression. Many families now have to stretch each and every dollar in order to keep their family going. Gas prices are going to rise again, making many Americans to force to make sacrifices. The government will probably try to tighten the U.S. security, especially in airports since the Christmas Day terrorist attack. The U.S. is still in a confused state, but I'm sure in the next few years and decade we can make more changes.

Well first off, i think healthcare is a big problem. People are worried whos going to pay for the health coverage, still wondering if the costs could come out of their pockets. If congress could come up with a way to minimize the costs so that the government pays for the majority of it, people might spend more, because they fell safer, therefore increasing economical growth. If economical growth does increase, maybe costs will decrease, such as, college costs. If America goes to all extremes to get out of this horrible recession by maybe spending a little extra, it might see its GDP increase, so now they will see more money in everyones pocket, including theirs, it might soften up our debt to the rest of the world.

the biggest issue of 2010 is the war because the war is causing the security problems with terrorists and some of the other economic problems and
most of all think about the family's here who had family or friends overseas fighting that didn't get to spend Christmas with them

I agree the U.S could be doing better with the economy and unemployment because i thought that the reason that the economy was down because the stock market crashed then people were afraid to buy products so I think that the government should try to get people to buy products and start giving more people jobs especially the ones who really need it

The big problem in 2010 is, i think, the decreasing of the growth of economy. It will cause the rise of unemplyment rate and these problems will have bad effect each other.

Most of all, I think, (even if it's not 10`s problem)green house gases are the biggest problem of all over the world. We should think deeply about how to prevent the incredible gas production caused by lots of factories.

Not only the economical problems we are facing but also the wars with two countries are running out of the energy of USA. We need to focus on what is more important at this point. I think Economical problem is more important than the wars. The expenditures pured into wars could be used to sustain our economy and the people who are in danger. If our capacity of economy collapse, we will be no longer to fight against terror.

The war in Afghanistan is going to become out of control from the economic point of view causing a lot of problems in the domestic economy. Important improvements in climate change policies. That's what I can see.

I believe that unemployment & the "War" in Afghanistan should be the key issues of 2010. We have been 'promised' a better economy, If we are said to be OUT of the recession, how is unemployment STILL going up! We have also been "promised" an end to this UNCONSTITUTIONAL "War". We have yet to see any of this! I, for one, would love to see the unemployment fixed and our troops home!

I think the biggest Issue of 2009 is the loss of many's jobs. If people don't have jobs then more people are going to be homeless. Job Loss is serious!

Hi I'm from lake park GA. I am blooging from my wii. In my opinion I think we need to think more on helping people without jobs and working on our economy. One way for us to do that is to stop green house gases. And to get people to stop using to much hairspay. For the job problem we need to open up more jobs.

    January 9, 2010 at 4:28 pm |
  204. Sara

I think the biggest issues in 2010 is the weather. The weather is causing economies to boom just like ours, it is causing people to miss work all around the globe, and children and teens to miss school when education. I think we should being greener and make better choices to help heal our earth, not only are we putting global warming on our earth the temperatures are dropping in certain parts of the globe that should be at least 60 degrees when they are at 20 degrees.

Well, my teachers told my classes at the beginning of the year that the economy would go back to where it was before I got to my senior year of high school, and that it wouldn't get any worse. This year I'm in seventh grade. I can't say I agree with that or that I disagree either. I think the economy will get worse, sadly, before it gets better. We have not hit rock bottom yet. Although, I do think the economy will get better by my senior year. We've come back from so much worse and look where we were. We had one of the world's best economies. We can bounce back, no problem!
Also, I think global warming is kind of a joke. The weather in Florida is almost below freezing. In Michigan, We've only had one winter that is colder than this. Plus, our snow hasn't melted yet. And in Europe, well you saw what it's like.
Finally, I think that President Obama will not stay in office for more than one term. But thats just my opinion.

Kids getting an education in collage is a major issue, even for me. I'm already looking for ways to get scholarships since my mom got laid off. Not to mention the fact that most of us kids don't have that kind of money, even with the scholarships it would be a hassle to pay. If the economy dosn't go up I estimate that it's going to start affecting the collage payments as well.

    January 10, 2010 at 10:51 am |
  211. Rachael

These issues are major, but I think that the major issue of 2010 is yet to come. The airport safety thing is definitely good but I mean the government is ALWAYS trying to find new ways to better the airport security system. The cold weather is kind of shocking though, but I think eventually it will wave over.

    January 10, 2010 at 11:55 am |

I believe that the biggest issue of 2010 will be the un-employment rate. If people don't start getting back into work, the unemployment rate will continue to increase and the national spending will continue to decrease.

The U.S.'s biggest issue is either our Economy including our deficit or the war in Afghanistan. Our deficit is horrible and other country's are going to start wanting their money.

Out of all the problems that face us in 2010, terrorism and war scare me the worst. As each country around the globe becomes a more modernized nation, each one starts wanting more and more power. We fight over who gets the power, and people are killed for little to no reason. It makes me sick. Especially now, with terrorists from the middle east trying to bomb planes and important buildings here at home, we need to be united as a nation more than ever, and make peace with Iraq and Afganistan. If we don't create some sort of peace treaty with them, the war and terrorism will get far worse.

    January 10, 2010 at 3:17 pm |
  215. A.

If President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are able to obtain a Middle East peace treaty between the Israeli and Palestinian people with the creation of a new Palestinian State, that would certainly pay financial dividends to American taxpayers in the future.

The Republican lawmakers and their masters in the Military defense corporations will likely attempt to torpedo any and all attempts to wind down both wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and reach a successful Peace Treaty in the Middle East.

If the Obama Administration succeeds in winding down both wars and gaining a Middle East Peace Treaty, America can finally pour its money and full attention into America's dilapidated infra-structure and urgent domestic needs thru-out America.

Theres a lot that could be important and that will be discussed for sure but i think the number one concern will be the economy because its not looking good but i also think that the war will be discussed a lot because obama has a lot to think about for the war.

I think that in 2010 the unemployment rate will be a big issue and more people will lose their jobs making more homeless people in bigger cities. Unemployment has already gone up a lot in the last months and I don't see why it's going to stop now. Also, unemployment prevents people from getting things they need, such as health insurance and groceries. This shows that the health care debate, where the president is trying to make health care more affordable for people with low income, is also still going to be a big issue for 2010.

I think the problems of 2010 will be the same as 2009's problems. The problems were gas, people not having jobs, and people without health care. A new problem could possibly be airline safety. Overall I think the problems will be the same as last year.

  227. Rachel

The biggest struggle in 2010 is the econamy and recessions. It effects everyone. It really is a hard time for the U.S.

I think the biggest issues of twenty ten are either the airport bomber and airline security, and most of all the economy. We are doing everything we can to fix both of these problems, but I think the economy isn't in our hands. It is the componies and the incorperations. The airline security is something we definantly can control, but it's hardened by the econoy. We can't buy the right equipment.

  233. Cindyy

I think the biggest issue of 2010 is our economy. If we don't do something, the USA will face more obstacles and challenges than 2009. So many people are living below the poverty line and more and more will continue if we don't do something about it.

    January 11, 2010 at 9:59 am |

I think the biggest issue of 2010 is going to be about the economy. People are loosing jobs and moving out of town. i can't see why thats happening but there must be a strong reason why.

    January 11, 2010 at 10:00 am |
  237. Melodie

I think that like the student news, instead of driving a car and polluting, we should ride a bike. I think that if we pollute too much, its gonna effect our earth. Also i think that the gas prices should go down because the gas prices are too expensive and we are wasting too much money.

    January 11, 2010 at 10:00 am |
  238. Rachel

I think the biggest issue of 2010 is the gas pricing. The prices go up a lot. Soon people won't be able to pay money for their cars. Cars are the way people mostly get around from place to place. Without gas, they are in trouble.

I think the biggest issue of 2010 is going to be the economy. People are losing their houses and people are losing their jobs, just because of the economy. I think that that is going to be the biggest issue of 2010.

  240. Bincy

I think the biggest issue of 2010 is the economy and flight safety. We have to bring up the economy, if we dont there could be a lot of hardships this year for all the people that are unemployed. Also flight safety is a big problem of all the checking that has been going on. You can never know if there is a person with bombs hanging around.

I think the biggest issue in 2010 is that the the economy is getting worse. People are losing their jobs and houses. Many people are having trouble finding a home and a job. I hoope soon our economy will get better or I wish that soon we will find a solution to economy.

I think that we can have a good year by so many ways and that there is so much space for improvement. Weel, according to our economy, we have to make more healthier, safer and better choices in life. We have to work together as a country to live better! War is also something that i may not know too much about, but i think that we shoudl finish what was started and come out alive with our dignity and freedom. Lastly, flight safety is another thing that stumbles across us! We just have to find ourselves the solutiona dn fight back for our freedom and safety! Other than that, i hope we can have an awesome 2010!!

I think the biggest issue of 2010 is kids getting an education and the economy. I think that those are some difficult problems because if the parents can`t afford to send the kids to school how willl they ever get an education. Also, gettting and education is important that way people can get good jobs.

I think the biggest issue of 2010 is going to be the economy. Many people are losing jobs, and others can't find jobs. also, I think the environment will get worse. It seams that some people are completely forgetting that polution is getting worse and worse.

I think the biggest issue of 2010 is going to be the airport saftey. I think that everyone in the world is probably scared about it now. Airlines can always be better and not everyone knows that. They also can never be too safe. A lot of people and places struggle, but I think this is the biggest beside our economy.

The biggest issue for our country is the media. Not you guys, because you give both sides of the story. But some news channels only give one political side. Also they don’t focus on helping our economy but they just find stories that make people fell bad. For example the Tiger Woods issue. I mean really leave the guy alone, so what he’s a playa. There’s thousands of people in the U.S. that have done that. Finally all of the media is focusing on the bad things happening.

Another big problem with our country is that all the democrats want to do is spend money. For example in the traditional stimulus package, that Obama made had a plan to build a $1,000,000 bridge for turtles to cross roads!!!

The economy is struggling. We are all trying to help the economy. I think that with all that has happened, with the war and stock market, people are still trying to recover and are having a difficult time with whats happening right now. I'm just a student but I know enough to say that we need to regroup and figure out a plan to help us. The weather is another thing that people need to deal with. Lay offs and education losses are another result from the economy. We need help and quick or else 2010 will get worse.

WAR is our biggest issue because of all the people that Obama wants to send over and they will probably just get killed. We just need to have peace and get them out of there.

...we think the economy will struggle with gas prices because they will get to high and then people will get angry with the prices and not want to pay the high gas prices anymore and the economy will lose money and then therefore the taxes will go up... or the war in Afghanistan because we are sending a lot of troops over there and its not getting any better

The biggest issue of 2010 in my eyes would be the struggle fighting against terrorists in our nations airports. It is a cat mouse type of war. They try something new we catch up, they try something new we catch up... It will go on forever unless we can get what we need. Profiling is not a bad idea...

The biggest issue if 2010 is the war in iraq because we are loosing more citizens. If we would take them out then less people would be getting killed and more people would be living. Some people would also be able to see their kids grow up!!!

    January 11, 2010 at 2:47 pm |
  262. Savannah

The biggest issues of 2010 is the economy. The economy has people unemployed from their jobs, and so if they aren't working then they don't have money to buy things that people actually need like food or water. If the economy would start getting better them people would have their jobs, and would be able to pay for stuff that they need. This bad economy is effecting everyone. People even lost their homes. Hopefully the economy will become better.

    January 11, 2010 at 2:48 pm |
  263. Annie & Emily

We think the two biggest issues are the economy and the war in Afghanistan. The economy sucks and the war is getting worse. The economy has left many people without jobs. Even though Obama says we will be out of the war in a year, we don't think that will actually happen. But the best thing we can do is to stay positive about the situation we're in and hope the outcome is good! 🙂

    January 11, 2010 at 2:49 pm |
  264. Kelsey

We think that gas prices is the big issue because if the gas prices were down then the more money people have then people would be able to spend more money and pay what they need to then the economy will go up. then there is smoking people that smoke and are on food stamps they can pay $ 50.00 for 3 packs of smokes and they could be using that money on their car payment or something. And people that drink a lot they could be spending money on something they need.

    January 11, 2010 at 2:50 pm |
  265. morgan

The biggest issue of 2010 is... the war in Iraq because we should not have to put more people in Iraq we should be taking them out. when you put more people in Iraq you effect more than the people that you put into the war you also affect there families as well. I know that i would not like having my mother or my father or my brother going into the war because i would not want to loose them. Another reason to take them out of war is because the government spends a lot of money buying weapons and other things that are needed in the war for out people to survive. I hope that our citizens get out of Iraq soon and come home safe.

The ones it will really hit is the farmers. If it keeps up there won't be many farms left. Then where will we get our food? Prices will hit sky high. Then I will lose my home and dear friends on the farm. My Dad will lose his job. God please help this economy get better, please!!!!!!

I believe that the biggest problem in 2010 will be the decline in employment rate. Many people losing their jobs will cause many companies to lose business because the people that don't have jobs will have no money to buy the products. Therefore the company that had to fire the people, their business just might suffer. But I hope that the economy will get better! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!! 🙂

We think the economy and the war in Afghanistan are going to be the biggest problems in 2010 because the economy is not at its best at the moment and the war is going to end up lasting longer than a year; even though Obama and others say it will only last a year. If we think that the situation will have a good outcome it will! 🙂

We think the economy and the war in Afghanistan will be the biggest issues in 2010 because the economy is not at its best and the war is probably going to end up lasting longer than a year; even though Obama and others say it will be over in a year. If we think that the situation will have a good outcome, it will!!!! 🙂

The biggest issue in 2010 is that kids are not getting enough exercise and eating to much junk food. They are spending to much time watching TV and eating potato chips, instead of getting active. Kids are more likely to get sick and obese. The schools and restaurants are changing the way their foods are prepared to make them more healthy.

I think mainly we should still just work on getting all of our troops back home to the United States. Lets work on getting our economy strong before trying to help other people.

Well we think that Global Warming is gonna be the biggest thing in 2010 because it's a very controversial issue. And it is important that poeple realize that our planet is being harmed by the human race.

In my account the biggest issues would be that health care and the reacent flight securety.

    January 11, 2010 at 6:03 pm |
  276. Meggie

What the econemey needs to do is stop worrying about the health care so much. I thought it was just fine but all they do is go on and on and on about it. Also global warning someone needs to save those poor little polar bears.

    January 11, 2010 at 6:22 pm |
  277. Christina

I think the biggest issue right now is how ppl are getting put off jobs probably the only ones who aren't doing so bad are the educated ones. and why maybe because college is too much to afford and some ppl don't want to go into debt after they graduate. No degree no job and if you want to go back it is just way to much for ppl to go. why can't they make it so that education is high priority like making it easier for those who can't afford it.

I think unemployment will be a HUGE issue in 2010, even though it shouldn't be. You hear people saying, "Oh, I wish I only had a job, but there's none out there." which I don't get, because you see the news paper every day and there's HUNDREDS of listings in the classifieds, and it's WAY TOO EASY to get unemployment these days- for example, my friend's friend's cousin's dad got paid about 3/4 of what my dad gets paid per week, the only difference, my dad gets up and WORKS every day and gets paid per 2 WEEKS! These people only do what they have to to make it LOOK like they're looking 4 a job

I think the biggest issue of 2010 will be the economy. We have been dealing with it for much to long.I also think that many issues in the health care debate need to be solveld, as that is a nation wide struggle.

    January 11, 2010 at 8:21 pm |
  285. Lainey

I think one of the biggest issues for 2010 will be health care. People are underpaid and overworked. States are cancelling out the funds towards healthcare in their particular state. Also, our economy. People aren't getting paid because of how bad our economy is. This leads to bad healthcare becasue they don't have the money to keep up with the needs of our country.

    January 11, 2010 at 8:34 pm |
  286. Blake

I think that when new technology is developed that airline security will be closer to unbreakable, and untill then, they need to try their best to make it as good as it will get!!!

    January 11, 2010 at 8:53 pm |
  287. Katie

I think our biggest issue would be the falling economy. The health care is a important issue but the economy is causing more and more people to lose their job each day. If we don't fix this, it would be hard for our generation to find jobs in the future.

    January 11, 2010 at 9:13 pm |
  288. Derek

I think the biggest issue of 2010 is jobs. People are still unemployed and aren't making money to keep their families alive. So I think we should focus on trying to get people jobs so they can make some money for their families.

    January 11, 2010 at 9:52 pm |
  289. Dylan

I think the biggest issue of 2010 is the economy. Once we get that in gear i think things will start to go our ways again. We just need to find a way to get back on track and everything will work out.

In my opinion about the traveling security I think profiling is a huge lack of respect and a major form of predjudice. In fact a lot of bombings come from Al-Qaeda, yet not all bombers come from them and their related contries. Profiling is as wrong as racisim it does not give the freedom of speech or the right to the pursuit of happiness to the innocent of those countries.

    January 11, 2010 at 11:18 pm |
  292. Ashley

the biggest issue for 2010 will be the end of the war. When and how we will pull out of the nations we are fighting in. How fast we will be able to get out of war without another retaliation. And how we will be able to do so.

    January 11, 2010 at 11:35 pm |
  293. Seaeun

I'm not sure if I can decide which is the biggest problem America is facing. There is unemployment rate and gas price rising, the airline security, and the health care debate not solved between the house and the senate. Worldwide, which includes america, has problems, too. There is global warming which causes much extraordinary cold weather and economy. I think economy is the biggest problem the world is facing these days. Although these are things that can be the biggest issue in 2010, I truly hope every nation including America would be able to solve it before 2011.

    January 12, 2010 at 11:27 am |
  297. Zachary

I think our biggest issue of 2010 is the saftey of air transportation. Even terriosit threats, because no matter what you do to stop it, you wouldn't have really stopped it. The threet of hijacked planes will always be a thought and threat. Even plane saftey will stay huge news no matter what happens in the near future.

The economy is a very big issue in 2010, because Obama is focusing on terrisots and can't really handle the ecomony. We are in a heavy recession and we need a president. Obama is a very good president, but he needs to handle the recession or we may fall into a depression. I would want to hamdle this immediately if I were a president.

I think a lot of stuff is going wrong but the worst thing is we have the dumbest government ever because they keep raising prices for the stupidest things like gas. I mean really? Gas? They also keep raising taxes. What about poor people. They say they care about them but if they really did they would lower taxes. And if they really actually cared about anyone they would lower prices for just about everything else too. They should either get smarter or let the kids take over.

The school lunch progrm is a big issue. The school lunches are loaded with fat, and my apinion is they dont tast the best ether.
Reaserch shows that nearly 60% of the food kids get for hot lunch is thrown away! and obeasity is a big problem to. Not only are the school lunches packed with fat, the kids that actuly eat it are only 13 and can waigh over 150 -200 pounds!!!
Lots of my friends are geting up there because they dont care what they eat, and its scarry and embaressing for the kids that are that big!
I think if the schools changed the school foods to more nutrisios meals and train the cooks to make the food better, and dont buy microwave foods, the kids will eat the food more and not waist them! Money wise, out of evey 100 dollers its only 3 more dollers to do this if we make the right choices.
In europe some schools have done this and it works great. not only will the school foods not go to waist, they will be verry nutricios and tast good.

My opinion of the 'biggest issue of 2010' is the enviroment.

Oh and you know how the metal detectors diddnt work well and stuff? I wonder why they diddnt think to fix the metal detectors but to replace them with something unnesessary. That's going to be an issue as well.

We think that the economy and the war in Iraq are both issues. We also think that garbage is an issue as well.

  326. Hannah

I think that the biggest issue of 2010 will be what to do now. It's a new year and everyone has questions about what has happened and what's to come. People are curious to see what our President, and government in general, are going to do about all the things that aren't necessarily going wrong, but aren't going right either. Personally, I think that there will be big changes in our relationships with other countries. Its bound to happen, why not in 2010?

i believe that the depression is the biggest concern even though it is almost gone it is still effecting alot of people. if we could get out of our depression then it would probebly be alot easier to handle all of our other problems.

    January 13, 2010 at 12:29 pm |
  328. Jessica

I think that global warming SHOULD be the biddest issue of 2010. Global warming is a crisis that is happen right before our eyes and nobody's even paying attention to it. People treat it like it's "no big deal" but the end of earth, to me, sounds like it should be considered a big deal. I know we have problems that are happening right now that some people think are much worse then global warming but i don't think so. I think they all are important and we should pay attention to them too but global warming should be taken care of now instead of later on, when it's too late.

We think that the biggest issue is the economy, and war on terrorism

    January 13, 2010 at 1:12 pm |
  330. Jaxon

There is no question that the main efforts over the past year have been the War on Terror, Health Care, and the recession, the question is what will pres. Obama be focusing on this year. I think that the economy is the most important issue in 2010. With a good economy we can then procede with more assuredness that health care cost can and will decrease. Then we can focus more on the War on Terror. Its a domino effect that can and will work if put to the test.

The biggest issue of 2010 is going to be...kids drinking and smoking at a way to young age. Kids need to learn that a law is a law that it is not ment to be broken. The law is trying to save your life so don't go against it or u will die!!!

I think the biggest issues of 2010 is the economy and the war in Iraq. the most biggest issues that the U.S has is the money cause they spend it all on the war in Iraq.

    January 13, 2010 at 4:22 pm |
  333. Spencer

The biggest issues of 2010 are the economy and specificly how much the government is SPENDING when we are in this big of a debt. We should be focusing all efforts on paying off that debt then start running all these programs to try and stabalize the economy it wont be stabalized unless the debt is paid off first.

    January 13, 2010 at 4:49 pm |
  334. Lisa

There are going to be many big issues in 2010. The economy needs to be boosted, but more attention will be focused around the environment. Another major issue is is going to be the war over terrorism. President Obama will have to choose whether he want the troops back, or he is sending more. Overall, I think 2010 is going to be a year where big measures are going to be taken and major descisions are going to be made.

    January 13, 2010 at 7:32 pm |

I cannot beileve that our economy has sunk this low and that the president is sending out more bills! He must like to watch people suffer and die in poverty.

Of course to recover from the economic recession should be the top prioity. Now wall street has stood on its feet. Washiton has to do more to help main street to be back on track. We expect to see an increasing job market and rise of income. That is a simple American dream.

i think that our economy has to get better and not worry all about healthcore. think about the animals safty and ho we can make this world bettter. to make the gas price get lower and then there will be no problem that people will lose their cars or houses. we have to make money and this economy different.

    January 14, 2010 at 10:02 am |
  339. Shane

I think that in 2010 one of our biggest issues will be that a health care reform bill will be passed. For a while it will work but people will find more cons than pros about it and we will spend the rest of the year, if not the rest of Obama's term, fixing the bill to what it needs to be. Overall I see big problems in health care.

I think the biggest issue of 2010 is the economy. At this rate, people are not going to be able to afford their house payments and they aren't going to be able to support their families. So many people are losing their jobs and getting laid off. All the remaining jobs are taken and when a chance comes along to get a job, not everyone can have it. Something needs to be done about this ecomomy or I don't know how some families are going to make it.

The U.S.. is facing so many government problems. We are TRILLIONS of dollars in debt and GROWING BY THE SECOND!!!!! I think our leaders could do a better job of trying to lower prices. I think education is a big problem facing 2010. If we (the students of America) don't get a good education then how are we suppose to start businesses and create more jobs in this failing economy? Maybe if tuition fees at college were less, we could get into colleges and have enough the education required to run businesses that create mass amounts of jobs to support our economy.

There are many issues that the economy is working on but the jobs here need the most. More money for income for some family it would be easier for them to pay for health. And the guards for supervision the airport is a best way for a secure country and give more jobs.

All of this health care buisness is foolishness to me. This is America! Martain Luther King Jr. died trying to fix our wrong doings. If a person is dying, will you help them? Well, i think you should. It doesnt matter what race they are or where they live or even how much money they have. You know why? Because it is the right thing to do! would you rather be known for how much money you have or what youCOULD HAVE DONE? I know i would wouldnt. I want to be known for who i helped.

I don't think our economy is doing well. But I have faith that that will change. 2009 may have been OK, but 2010 should be GREAT.
