Return of Vick

Our first topical blog of '09-'10 school year centers on NFL quarterback Michael Vick.  After serving almost two years in a federal prison for his role in a dogfighting ring, Vick is slated to wear a Philadelphia Eagles jersey.  The question is no longer whether he should be able to play again; it's now about what kind of difference it'll make.

And that's where you come in:  Would you be any more likely to go to an Eagles game if Vick were playing?  Or would you want to stay home?  I'm curious to find out if you'll be cheering, booing, or if it even matters to you at all if and when Michael Vick takes the field.

Anyway why should i care for someone else playing???
For me I'll just settle on the sofa with a book in my hand.

The Eagles need Michael Vick. Hopefully Vick can turn the team around and the Eagles can start being a decent team again. He is an all-star player and deserves a second chance. I will be first in line for the games and to get his shirt.

I think Mike Vick deserved a second chance and I look forward to seeing him play for the Eagles

Vick should have not gotten as much time as he did. Everybody talks about how they do not like Vick but seriously other people do dog fighting and they don’t get near as much time as he got. Although I would go and watch him when he came back to Ga. He knows what he did was wrong but he did his time and learned a very valuable lesson out of it too.

I've never really been interested in sports so the fact he was a good quarter back doesn't really faze me. Plus. I think it’s really cruel that he did the whole dog-fighting thing. So, he doesn’t really get my respect. Over all, I wouldn't go to an eagle’s game.

I’m a Georgia fan. I liked him a lot when he was playing for Georgia before all of the dog fighting happened. I think killing innocent animals is completely wrong. What he did was stupid, arrogant and he deserves everything he’s been given. He say he regrets his “dog fighting days” but if he regrets them, why did he even do it in the first place. I will not support him if he plays for the Eagles. I have no reason too.

I personally don’t really care about Michael Vick anymore for many reasons. One, he was just a quarterback. Two, I don’t really think it was that big of a deal. He spent his time in jail and he should be able to play again. I wouldn’t go to one of Philadelphia’s games just to see him play, if he even gets on the field.

I probably would not be more likely to go to an Eagles game if Vick were playing, but then again I wouldn’t go anyway. I do think though what he did was wrong so I am not in favor of him at all. If I was him I would be too afraid to show my face again at the Georgia Dome. I’m sure there will be a lot of people booing him.

To be honest I really do not care about who’s playing for what team, and who did what to what animals. I mean, football is fun to watch, but people focus too much on the extra drama instead of enjoying the game. Sure, I’d watch him play, it’s not about what mistakes he’s made, it’s about how good of a football player he is.

No but I don’t go to football games anyway. I’m pretty sure that no one likes Michal Vick right now but the only reason I don’t like him is because of the dog fighting ring. If he plays well some people may forget other will hold it against him no matter what he does. It doesn’t really matter to me any way.

First of all what Michael Vick did was wrong and I honestly think that he knows that and that he is sorry for doing it. Some guy on “60 Minutes” said there are about 40,000 professional dog fighters in America so it’s not really that big of a deal. I personally am excited about seeing him play because I think he is going to shock everybody. The only thing I am worried about is that he is in the Falcon’s division and we have to play against him.

I believe that everybody needs a second chance at life. Bringing back Vick to play football might get him to learn what happended in the past. Also this could be a comeback for him or a destory. It nobody actions but his right now so let it be.

I think he should play because he is a good football player. I don’t really watch it all that much but my brothers do and they love him. A lot of people love Michael Vick because he was one of the best players in the N.F.L.

To be honest I do not really care if Michael Vick is playing or not. I have never been a fan of football and I don’t think I ever will be, so it doesn’t really matter to me who plays or not. That being said, if I were a football fan I think that I would not want to go and see Michael Vick play again because I support animal rights and I feel that he has violated them. I also feel that he shouldn’t have done something like that because he knew he was a public figure and he knew that you can’t keep secrets forever. I feel that by doing that he has set an example for young people and it’s not a good one.

I think that Michael Vick is a good foot ball player. I also think that dog fighting is a terrible thing and anyone who kills dogs for fun should be punished. But I think that he did his time and it’s fair that he should be able to play. I think that I would go to the game and that it doesn’t matter to me to much anymore because he did his time.

I really don’t care about Michael Vick. I never cared before and I don’t care now. What he did was awful. Anyone who would do such a thing to an animal doesn’t deserve what he had. I won’t be tuning in to watch any of his games, and I definitely won’t go to any of them as well.

I find it horrible that he killed dogs however I am easy to forgive. Therefore, I would cheer for him at a game despite the recent criminal acts. Also it seems he has been punished enough.

Michael Vick is back in the N.F.L, playing with the Philadelphia Eagles. Many people don’t think that Michael Vick should play, but I do think he should play. Vick was a top notch quarterback. He had all the physical and mental attributes to be a successful quarterback. No doubt in my mind, I think Vick will be an impact player. Since Vick will be an impact player on his team, I think that fans would support him because fans want to be entertained.

I think that a lot of people will want to see him play again. I also think that a lot of people will in a way boycott his games by not going to them at all. It is going to be interesting when the eagles come to play at the Georgia dome. I’m sure there will be plenty of yelling and booing but you kind of have to feel sorry for him too. I mean it’s got to be hard to go on a new team with teammates that I’m sure love dogs. I’m a dog lover too but I’m not like crazy mad at him or anything, as long as he is truly sorry.

Who cares about Michael Vick? He was never that good in the first place and was always just an overrated and overpaid pre Madonna. He shouldn’t have been allowed back into the NFL after killing dogs and lying about it. He couldn’t act appropriate for a man of his wealth and fame, and should not get another chance.

  23. Nick

To me, Michael Vick’s past mistakes were a big deal but he has admitted to regretting his “dog fighting days”. Vick has definitely served his time and faced consequences for his actions, so I think that Michael Vick should not be judged to heavily for it. He did fight dogs, but that was in the past, what matters now is his NFL future and if his previous success picks up from where it left off. If Michael Vick were playing for any team that I like, I do not think that it would change my decision of going to the game or not, because to me, Michael Vick is just a great football player who made a mistake and intensely regrets it.

Honestly, I don’t care either way. His personal life has no association at all with how he plays, and just because I don’t see him as a good person like I would have normally, doesn’t mean I don’t think of him as a good player. Michael Vick is a good football player and a bad person. If I’m watching football, I think of him as a player, and if I’m talking to him, I’ll think of him as a person.

Yes I will love to go see Vick play for the Eagles. He’s doing a lot of community services, and doing a lot to stop dog fighting. He served his time in prison, so I think people should give him another chance. So yes I will be cheering for Vick, and I hope he does well in the NFL.

Michael Vick did something that was very wrong and unlawful. Two years ago, he was charged with dog fighting while playing for the Atlanta Falcons. I live outside of Atlanta and am a huge Falcons fan. I did not think that Vick deserved a chance to play in the NFL again after the events he participated in. By him doing so, he made the Falcons look bad, along with himself. Now that he has returned to the NFL and is now playing for the Eagles, I will not be cheering for him when he returns to the Georgia Dome in December to take on the Falcons, the team that made him the number one most paid Quarterback in the NFL in 2006. I think his return will make a big difference in the fan base in Philadelphia.

I think that Vick does deserve another chance even If he does play for the eagles. I would go to his games if he played against the falcons just for the intensity of it. And see the falcons stomp the eagles.

I would go see eagles play in the Georgia dome if Vick was playing. He has screed up in the past, but now he is try to fix it. He is helping the human society to stop dog fighting. He served his time in prison ,so people should give him a chances.

I think that Michael Vick deserves to play again because everybody makes mistakes. I would more likely go to a football game to see him play and get back on his feet. Dog fighting isn’t something that everybody likes. They think that it isn’t great to do animals like that. People should hate that fact of the dog fighting. They shouldn’t be mad at him as a football player. Everybody deserves a second chance.

I don’t watch too much NFL but after hearing the news about the dog fights Vick really shouldn’t be playing football anymore, that was cruelty towards animals and it really lowered the respect from his fans but hope fully he can set his life straight during this time in the NFL.

Vick has served his time and admitted to his mistakes. No one is perfect! Not even the law enforcement officials that went after Vick. Now, if they are really concerned about dog fighting, they should go after the hundreds of thousands of people that are still engaged in this activity. The PETA and Humane Society should expend their energies and efforts too to find these culprits! They should ask these dog advocates to send in their monies to help crack down on dog fighting! Put up or shut up!

Actually I could care less if vick played or not. But...honestly, I am less likely to go see him. I love animals, especailly dogs, and he forced them to fight for money. That I can never forgive.

I dont really think that micheal vick is really sorry for his dog fighting days and he just wants his source of money back and to show that he can still play no matter what he did in his past. I think it was a mistake for the Eagles to sign him because he shouldnt be allowed to play because of what he did to those dogs.

Yes i would come and see Vick play, because everybody fight dogs everyday and nobody is really doing nothing about it. The only reason why I think that they had to say somethinhg about it is because he is famous, and I think he paid for what he did when he went to jail. People make mistakes everyday it was just a dumb decision he made, Vick is going to get pass this and he is going to be on that field when it is time.

I would go to an Eagles game just to see Michael Vick play i also want a Michael Vick Eagles jersey and when the Eagles play the Atlanta Falcons which is suposed to be on Dec. 5 I hope Vick play and they beat the Atlanta Falcons. Since Vick is gone i dont even like the Falcons anymore.

I think that I would go to an Eagles game with Vick on the team. I mean, he's got a career and as far as the dog-fighting thing went, there a bunch of guys that do that too but they don't bother with them so let Vick get back to doin what he loves to do: football.

To be honest I really don't know that mmuch about football, but I do believe that the eagles should have signed him. I really don't care much for a person who abuses animals and I don't think he really is sorry about it, but good for him. I don't watch football, so whatever.

I would love to go to an Eagles game to represent for Michael Vick. There are others who have done worst than him and they got off way easier. Vick have did his time and now I think its time for him to go back on the field.Atlanta really don't know what they have lost but I know Michael will make the Philadephia Eagles proud...

YES I WOULD BECAUSE I THOUGHT HE WAS THE GAME WITHOUT VICK THE FALCONS SUCK HE WAS THE BEST PLAYER SO ITS SEEMS LIKE ITS KINDA MANDOTORY TO BRING HIM BACK IFTHEY WANT TO REGAIN THEIR PRIDE,DIGNITY ,HONOR ,[&&] RESPECT

  42. Leigh-Ann

I think that Michael Vick should have been signed because he has done his time and he hasn't gotten in any trouble since the dog fighting incident. He is talking full responsibilty and understands that what he did was wrong. The Eagles on signing him for one year makes it seem like he is on a trial basis. Which is good in my opinion. Vick playing for the Eagles will not make me stop watching him because he isn't the entire team.

Mike Vick. Mike Vick. Ummm....... Well I think that he has the right to be on ANY team that he feels to be on. I mean their just bagging on him because he's a celeb. I mean dudue come on let the guy do him and stop harassing him. Thats my boy he's in crotroll of himself.

See, Micheal Vick aint sorry bout killing those dogs. He is only sorry about the amount of money he lost. But I wouldn't go to the game anyway because those tickets are to expensive for me when I can watch it at home for FREE!!! I support him though because people kill humans and it dont even matter but you kill a dog all HELL breaks loose

I would go to the Eagles game if Vick was playing instead of staying home. If I was there I would cheer him on instead of just booing him. Yes he was arrested for dog fighing but it have been alot of people that have done so much worser then him but he the one that have to suffer more punishment.

I believe that Mike Vick will make a difference whether it’s him just sitting on the side line or actually playing on the field. I know what he did was very wrong and he also knows that but he knows that he had to make a difference and make up for the bad things he has done. I believe that he will come back and be just as good if not better then when he left.

I probably would go and see the game anyways, I don’t really care if he plays or not, it wouldn’t bother me. But it may affect other people, it doesn’t really affect me. I think he is a good football player and he should keep on playing, what happens in the past stays in the past.

I dont really care too much about Micheal Vick, I mean what he did was pretty horrible, and everyone needs a secound chance, maybe. he's just another guy though, nothing special he got what he deserved, and now hes going back, no big deal

I don’t really know anything about Michael Vick. All I know is that he was dog fighting which was a bad idea and I don’t like that he did it. But if he served his time and if he really does regret it then I don’t see anything wrong with him playing again.

I am not affected in the slightest by Michael Vick joining the Philadelphia Eagles. He is just a man who was convicted of a crime, served the penalty, and is now back into his work as a football player. That neither makes me want to attend the games more or less than any other player.

    August 17, 2009 at 11:59 am |

I think with Michael Vick playing in the NFL will be great. He already admitted he was wrong therefore he should be able to play. I personally think it is a great thing that he is back. I will be there watching all of his games on my T.V. except one. That one would be the Falcons vs. Eagles game which I went and bought the ticket to the morning after the announcement that Philadelphia had picked him up. I am not either a falcon or Eagle fan, but I enjoy good football and I think that’s what Michael Vick will bring back.

Michael Vick… I like the man I’m not going to lie. When he played for Atlanta he was my idol, he was just my favorite person ever. When the rumors came out I was like no way. But then I decided to accept it… now it seems like he really regrets it and has learned from it. I really hope he does well, and I’ll be cheering him on.

I would be pretty interested to see Micheal Vick play again, Being that he used to play for atlanta. I think that most people from georgia wouldnt want to see him play because of what he's done but im a little curious as to hoe the people will react. His actions spoke for him and he got what he deserved now lets give him a second chance and see if he can bring it all back!

I think I might go see the game. It’s all about him not me. I not really care. He just plays and I just watch it. Why don’t we all just take the time and enjoy it. It’s not a big deal to give people a second chance. I don’t think it’s going to be boring though.

To be honest, I am not a football fan. I never have been and I don’t think I ever will be. However, if I were a football fan, I do not think that I would be very excited about Michael Vick’s return because I believe in animal rights and I believe he broke them. I also believe that he knew that he was a public figure and should have been more responsible. Nothing is secret forever and he is setting a very bad example for young people.

I am very excited that Michael Vick is back in the NFL. I will most likely never see an Eagles game. If I had the opportunity, then I would definitely take it. Vick has been out for two years, but I think he is going to have a great season. If I was his opponent, I would be scared. He has been in prison!

  63. Auston

I think the Mike Vick case was blown way out of proportion; everybody loves Vick even though they may not have agreed with the events that he participated in. Me personally, I saw nothing wrong with the event because it was being played as a sport I see it as being no different than boxing. Some people say that the dogs were being forced to fight well what about when people go hunting, those animals only option is to run here the dogs have a fighting chance, hats the difference? But as far as Vick’s football career this will not affect a real Mike Vick fan because a real fan who loves a player will be happy to see Vick on the field again.

    August 17, 2009 at 12:04 pm |
  64. Morgan

I think it will have a big difference on his fans. And a lot of people don’t even want him to step out on a football field again. Fighting dogs and doing time in jail but still getting to get and being able to play football again could be sending the message that just because you have money and people look up to means you can do whatever it is you want. And I think that is something that needs to be changed.

  65. Tripp

Michael Vick would have no sway on if I would go to an Eagles game. However, I think it would be interesting to see him play after 2 years out of the sport. For the Eagles, he is just going to be someone of talent, that is there to back up Donovan McNabb, or they might possibly throw him into the WildEagle formation (which I would do). Thus, it would be exciting for me to see Mike Vick play once again, since he has served his sentence for his crimes, and paid his price to society, but it is not the make or break factor determining whether I would attend an NFL game.

I would most defiantly go to an Eagles game if Vick was playing. Just because he was on the Atlanta Falcon’s. Actually I could care less if he plays or not because football just isn’t my sport.

It’s not my place to judge people on the internet, but I think that this guy shouldn’t be allowed to play. He should be suspended at least a year or so. Vick committed a crime and he should pay his due just like everyone else. Dogs are man’s bestfreind, not man’s money tool.

I’m from Atlanta and we are the ones that raised him into the superstar he was and always will be. If for some strange reason I found myself in Philadelphia and the Eagles were playing and I have the assurance that I would see Vick start, then heck yea id go. Just to see his happy feet scramble and juke out some corner back and score one more touchdown while making it look like a walk in the park. He is a very exciting, athletic man.

Now that the Eagles have Vick on the team it would really make me want to see a game. Maybe not go to one but watch from the comfort of my home. I had always been somewhat of an Eagles fan so it does not really make a difference now that Vick is on the team. I will still be cheering even after Vicks takes the field. -–>

One student would go because he is a good football player. Another student would not go just because he does not like the eagles. Chargers Rule!!! Another one of our students does not even care either way. Most feel that Vick served his time and should be able to get on with his career.

I will be less likely to watch any football game that Mike Vick is playing in because I disagree with what he did and I don;t think he should have the privelege to play in the NFL for millions of dollars.

I would stay home if Michael Vick was in any Eagles game I was going to. After what he has done, it doesn’t matter to me what happens to him. It is horrible that he has done something that wrong and twisted. Even though he said he was sorry, or that he has found guidance throughout his prison years,he still plays as a negative role model in my life. I used to be a fan of him when he was on the Hokies and the Falcons, but since he’s been put in jail that appreciation is slowly fading away.

  73. Jacob

I wouldnt really care. I mean everybody is making such a big deal about it but it is already said and done. Everyone deserves a second chance and he is getting his. If you can forgive him then thats great but if you cant then you need to think about the fact that he regrets it and that he did his time. And if you cant forgive him and move on then... you need to look at all the times that you were forgiven and given a second chance, because you didnt deserve it but you got it anyways.

    August 17, 2009 at 12:54 pm |
  74. BJ

I think everyone deserves a second chance. Even the worst of situations can turn in to something good. He has said he regrets what he did so maybe he could raise awarness for aninmal abuse. So it could become a great situation.

    August 17, 2009 at 1:54 pm |
  75. Rachel

I wpuld never attend any of vicks games because what he did was wrong and he knew it was against the law and he still tried to cover it up.

    August 17, 2009 at 1:56 pm |
  76. Amber

yes if vick played i would go his game because he has came very far in his career to give up now just because of the dog incident.

    August 17, 2009 at 1:56 pm |
  77. mekerria

I WOULD GO TO AN EAGLES GAME I WOULD BE CHEERING.BECAUSE I THINK THEY SHOULD LET MIKE VICK BACK INTO THE NFL BEACAUSE EVERYONE DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE.

    August 17, 2009 at 1:57 pm |
  78. Michelle

michael vick made a mistake and he has paid the price for it. in my opinion everyone deserves a second chance, although football isn't my favorite sport if i were to attend a game i would more then likley cheer for vick just as much as i would cheer for any other player.

    August 17, 2009 at 1:57 pm |
  79. Britany

I would be cheering because every body deserve a second chance

    August 17, 2009 at 1:58 pm |
  80. VonShavious

It really doesn't matter to me because I don't watch football anyway, but he deserves another chance.

    August 17, 2009 at 1:58 pm |
  81. Davante

i would go to all of vicks games because he is 1 of the most best football players around.

    August 17, 2009 at 1:59 pm |
  82. Becca

It's there decision to draft him or not, they already know that they are going to have people that disagree with their decision. He is an amazing football player despite the fact that he was running a dog fighting ring. I dont agree with what he did, but he served his time and understands what he did.

    August 17, 2009 at 1:59 pm |
  83. Ronika

Yes, i would go to the Eagles game if Michael Vick was playing because i am a huge fan of Michael Vick.I would be cheering for Michael Vick.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:00 pm |
  84. Adallis

I would go to an eagle's game to see Vick play reguardless of him having a dog fighting ring because dogs fight anyway so it really wasn't that serious.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:00 pm |
  85. kiara

I wood love to be at his game

    August 17, 2009 at 2:01 pm |

I'd be at home booing, I think he got off to easy.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:02 pm |
  87. Jhana

I would be going to MIchael Vicks game. He did nothing wrong so i don't see why he went to federal prison. You are suppose to train dogs anyway.I will be cheering for him (REGARDLESS).People may seem to think that he is doing cruelty to animals.I think that he was just doing his job. Also he is very muscular and that is a a plus BABY thats all i have to say for now so toodles i will seee u next time!!!!!!!!!!! Bye Mwuah LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    August 17, 2009 at 2:02 pm |

he is an idiot vick. to me he will do it again and again becuse he is that idiot that will do it again and again

  89. thomas

i wouldnt go because i dont like people who abuse dogs and the main reason is i dont like football i love soccer i go for CHIVAS de mexico and more for MEXICO we won the gold cup and were goin for the world cup!!!!!!

    August 17, 2009 at 2:05 pm |
  90. Tony

I would be less likely to watch him play b/c I have a dog at home that I love and to watch someone play football who did horrible things to dogs would make me sick. Mike Vick still has yet to pay his debt to society.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:13 pm |
  91. Alex

To me it does not matter if Vick takes the field again because I never followed him in the first place. I was never a big fan of football or Vick so it does not matter much if Vick comes back. I hope thought that he does not take to dog fighting again and get kicked off because a lot of my friends follow Vick and football in general.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:27 pm |
  92. Lana

I would not be any more likely to go to an Eagles football game just because Michael Vick is playing for them. He’s a good player but I don’t like him that much. It doesn’t really matter to me what he does. I will be interested to see if he is still as good as he was, or if his skill level has dropped while he has been out for the past two years

    August 17, 2009 at 2:27 pm |
  93. Haley

I don’t think he should play again because he will just get into trouble again. I don’t like Philadelphia. I like the Atlanta falcons better. If he haven’t got in trouble for dog fighting he could be still be playing for the Atlanta falcons.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:28 pm |
  94. Zack

Vick playing for the Eagles is foolish to me. Yeah Vick is fun to watch because he’s a playmaker, but he’s a head case. If I were a Philly fan then I would be disappointed in the move that the owner made because I mean they already have a good quarterback and they wasted their first pick of the draft on another quarterback so why bring in another one? The Eagles have made a dumb move, but I’ll definitely watch them to see how Vick does.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:28 pm |
  95. Liz

Besides his past decisions, I think that this is a great opportunity for Vick to gain some kind of trust back from the people. The fact that he is actually going back to football after what he’s done, shows that he wants to forget the past and build a better future.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:29 pm |
  96. Hayden

If I were to live in Philidelphia there would be no way that I would go to a football game with Micheal Vick. He is a sinful person that already had enough money to begin with but instead went out and killed dogs for more money than a human possibly needs. It's ridicoulous that he got out of jail in that short of time.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:29 pm |
  97. Maddi

I think that Michael Vick coming back to the NFL is not a bad idea and I would go see him play. He did serve his time in prison for making his mistake and has apologized numerous times on TV. Everyone makes mistakes some bigger than others but, since he is famous his was plastered all over magazines.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:30 pm |
  98. Erik

I think that Mike V. shouldn't be held accountable for his past a far as football concerned. What does him fighting dogs got to do with his skills on the field, its so idiotic they should worry about other more important things rather than the career of a successful young athlete.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:30 pm |
  99. Jack

I would be less likely to watch Michael Vick in an Eagles game because I do not feel he should be allowed to play at all. By going to see Vick, I would be supporting the team that hired him and paying his paycheck. If enough people take protest, the Eagles will probably fire Vick. Firing Vick would serve as extra punishment for the atrocities he commited.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:30 pm |
  100. oisdghsouidg

I think this is a good opportunity for Michael Vick to turn his life around. He was very talented and I am glad that a team has signed him, even though he is suspended from a number of games. Hopefully he will stay out of trouble and win the respect of every NFL team. I am glad that he realizes that he made a mistake and is working to fix it all.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:30 pm |
  101. Maria

It doesn’t really matter to me, but I guess everyone should get a second chance to demonstrate that they have changed and that Michael Vick does really regret doing dog fighting. I wouldn’t go to his game, I would stay at home. I hope he demonstrates to his fans that follow him that he is a good person.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:31 pm |
  102. Max

When Vick plays for the Eagles, it’s not going to affect me because I don’t care if he’s playing or not. He lied about what he did and then when he came clean he blamed it on his childhood. I don’t think that a grown man with as much money as Vick would think that it is okay to make two animals fight for fun. It wasn’t right, he knows it wasn’t right, and he’s done the time for his crime. I don’t care about him

    August 17, 2009 at 2:31 pm |
  103. Garrett

I would like to go see Vick play because I think is a really great player. I also would like to see him play because I want him to prove himself to everyone that he still can play like he used to. I am not so happy about him being with the eagles because I think Donavan McNabb is a great quarterback. I don’t think that Vick will play much because of Donavan’s high caliber. If Vick did get to play I would go see him.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:31 pm |
  104. Chase

I think that Vick is going to do terrible. He hasn’t played football in almost two years and I think that is going to impact his performance on the field. I doubt that he plays half the season. I think that they will play McNabb until he gets hurt or until he starts to screw up.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:31 pm |
  105. Kishan

No I would not be more interested in the Eagles even if Vick is on the team. I don’t think that Vick will make a difference for them he can’t throw a pass to save his life. But he can run what good is that when he is about 30 year s old. And I am going to BOO! him all day long. 🙂

    August 17, 2009 at 2:32 pm |
  106. James

It really does not matter to me. He served his time and he is now out and regrets it. For me I am not a huge football fan but I know that it really won’t matter that Vick is playing or not. The reasons the people come to the games are to have a good time and root on their team. The games are not meant to have people come or not just because of the players but because of the enjoyment of the game.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:32 pm |
  107. Ben

I believe that I would be more likely to go to an eagle’s game because Mike Vick is an electrifying player. He has an uncanny ability to avoid tacklers and create opportunities for his team to get open. I would of course cheer for him because he will be a great addition to an already powerful team.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:33 pm |
  108. NYOS

    * B: I don't want to go see him, because I don't believe in dogfighting.

    * M: I would go see him. I think he learned his lesson, and I don't care very much about the dogfighting part or the part that he was in jail.

*D: He just got out of jail. He likes to play football. I'd like to go watch him play.

    * M: Yes, I would like to watch him play. I feel tired and mad.

    * E: I would never, ever, ever, ever go see him play. If someone hurts a dog, ever, I wouldn't support them with my money and watch them play football.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:33 pm |
  109. MasonS

Michael Vick is a great player. I used to watch the Falcons because of him. I loved to watch him run up and down the field. It will make me watch the Eagles. I want to go to a game to see the fans reactions to him. He will be greatly hated and greatly loved.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:34 pm |
  110. Brandy

I would not watch Vick play football. What he did was wrong. He should not be able to play football anymore because of it. He did not take any time to think about what he done. He is in my opinion the worst player.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:35 pm |
  111. josalyn & Janaela

I think Micheal Vick deserves a second chance in the world , even though he has done wrong. I know what he did was wrong but he has served his time. Also I think his sentence was not fair compared to how a woman miss treats her children and still gets the same amount of time. I personally like Micheal Vick and still will be a fan .

Janaela;; yeah the same thing of what my friend said. Michael is really a good person deep down. Everybody makes mistakes so he should be forgiven. Thank youu.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:35 pm |
  112. Joel

I don’t think it makes a difference that Michael Vick is coming to the Philadelphia Eagles because he already served his time so he should be treated like every other football player. I won’t come to the games because I don’t care much about football. If I did come I would be cheering because Michael Vick is a good football player.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:35 pm |
  113. Taylor

I want Michael Vick to play for the Eagles. I loved Michael Vick when he played for the Falcons. Just because he messed up and got in trouble for something stupid doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be able to play. I would be more likely to go see an Eagles game now that Michael Vick plays for them.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:36 pm |
  114. Leah

I have not even heard of Michael Vick before he was on the news that said he was a part of all the dog fighting stuff. I have never watched the Eagles play before, so I probably won’t watch the eagles play in the future. It really does not matter to me that he is going to play again or not.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:36 pm |
  115. Alayna

I don’t really care about when and where Michael Vick returns to play football. I think he did his time in jail. I’m not a huge fan of football and I never really was, but it won’t stop me from watching the football games just because he is playing. I think that he learned his lesson already and the previous fans of him should be offended at what he did but maybe give him a second chance to be their favorite football player, because he still is a great football player.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:42 pm |
  116. Sherilyn

I think personally that Mr. Vick Should be held accountable for his actions He did wrong and that has no excuse. We should all be punished equally no matter the circumstance. If I had a choice between supporting him and not i would defintely not sopport him.

    August 17, 2009 at 2:43 pm |
  117. Caitlin

I would be less likely to watch him play because what he did to dogs to make money was disgraceful, and I don't think that someone like that should be allowed to play football for millions of dollars in the NFL.

    August 17, 2009 at 3:07 pm |
  118. chris

he has no right to play again.what if you where put in the ring and made to fight?

    August 17, 2009 at 3:21 pm |
  119. Chris

I Believe That Vick Should Be Able To Have A Second Chance, He Has Served His Time, And He Loves The Game.

    August 17, 2009 at 4:20 pm |
  120. Hunter

He was punished. He learned his lesson, he was allowed back. End of story. Why do people think he deserves more times?
    1) He spent way more time then illegal dogfighters do.
    2) Michael Phelps was punished and let back in, so why not Vick?
    3) That was the past. I'm sure we're looking at a new Michael Vick. He made a mistake. So what? We all do.

In other words, he deserves another chance even though he made a horrible mistake, but atleast he learned his lesson and regrets the fact he did. I really won't care to watch him, but people keep blowing this out too far.

    August 17, 2009 at 4:33 pm |
  121. kevin

he has no right to play

    August 17, 2009 at 6:21 pm |
  122. Liesel

Michael Vick should have spent soooo much more time in jail. He commited a serious crime, injuring other dogs for HIS OWN ENTERTAINMENT! That's so disgusting. Just like bull fighting, cock fighting, and all other animal fighting. He totally ruined his career by making one mistake. I will never, ever watch whatever team he is on ever again. It was his choice. He screwed it up. You do the crime, you pay the time. Just because you are some big football player doesnt mean you can get away with doing something that is illegal. He needs to realize that. Never will he realize how much hurt he has caused to these pitbulls. They are innocent. And thats how pitbulls get so aggressive. By their stupid, irresponsible owners. Its not the dogs fault! If only everybody who took part in dog fighting would go to jail, and stay there. Then these pitbulls wouldnt end up in shelters, and probably eventually euthanized.

Micheal Vick is better off in the NFL

    August 17, 2009 at 6:52 pm |

Its the stupidest decission the NFL has ever made! And now sundays and mondays are ruined for me because my dad is boycotting the NFL. Like I said before, DUMBEST DECISION EVER!!!

    August 17, 2009 at 7:37 pm |
  125. Anthony

I think he should be able to play in the NFL what he did was wroug but he did his time everybody shold get a second chance.

I dont think he should get second chance Beacus acfter being in Jail for two years i dont think he should get to play

Yes I would go im a die heart eagles fan and even though vick has had a bad past doesn't mean the whole team should suffer.

    August 17, 2009 at 8:56 pm |

i think he should get a second chance because he did his time and should be able to play again.

    August 17, 2009 at 9:06 pm |
  129. Shelby

I will definately be booing. Why on earth would you want somebody who was convicted of crimes to be on your football team?? Aren't these football players suppose to be role models to young teenagers and kids? Wow, that football team must be pretty desperate.

    August 17, 2009 at 10:25 pm |
  130. Yaneli

I would be less likely to watch Micheal Vick play because he was wrong for what he did. If it were someone else who did this to the dogs he would prabably feel the same way I do.

    August 18, 2009 at 8:28 am |
  131. Thomas

Why would Vick feel sorry for the dog fighting? He made a lot of money doing it. Hes just sorry he got caught. I mean if he hadnt gotten caught he would still be playing for the falcons and fightin dogs. True he did serve jail time, but if it were an average joe who got caught fighting dogs they definetly wouldnt havee been sent to jail. They would have been fined and sent on theyre way. I think, in regards to him playing on the eagles, one team is as good as any other. He still gets paid way to much to throw a football

    August 18, 2009 at 1:49 pm |
  132. Amber

i think they should leave vick alone cuz it was just an accident people.. goooooooosh..

    August 18, 2009 at 1:59 pm |
  133. Ruby

No forgiveness! He ELECTROCUTED DOGS when they lost fights! He could have given them away to the pound, or done something other than kill them! He shouldn't be able to just toss in the 'Apology Rag' and start playing foot ball again. He shouldn't be allowed to play!

    August 18, 2009 at 4:07 pm |
  134. Maverick

Yes, I would go even though he went to jail. Sometimes, you just need to let go of the past. Go Vick!!!

    August 19, 2009 at 9:44 am |
  135. Tiffany

    I agree with Juniper

    August 19, 2009 at 9:49 am |

You should forget about the past. Give him a second chance and he won't make that mistake again. Vick is going to rock the Eagles!!!!!

I suport dog fighting.. i suport Mike Vick!!!!!!!!
    eagles goin to the superbowl!!!!!!!!!

    August 19, 2009 at 12:02 pm |

Why did do that i mean he is to famouse to do that. I think he doesn't deserve a second chance.

    August 19, 2009 at 3:25 pm |
  139. Hannah

Well I think that what he did was wrong ,but he still a great football player. I think they should give him another chance. I would want one and I bet you would to.

    August 19, 2009 at 3:57 pm |
  140. mayah

vick may be a good football player, but he can never bring back all the dogs that he killed. i think he should have stayed in jail longer. he doesnt deserve freedom yet.

    August 19, 2009 at 4:55 pm |
  141. Unique

I would most likely watch one or two of his games because what he did was wrong but I think people do deserve another chance to do something and plus he served the time and i think that really put him into a place were he wont act like that again.

    August 19, 2009 at 5:34 pm |
  142. Hannah

I think so to He did hes time and should get another chance.

    August 19, 2009 at 7:11 pm |

I think that he should still be in jail because he killed lots of dog and that is really sad!!! I cryed when i heard that i hated that. I do not like vick he is a veary mean man!!!!!

no, because he was involve in dog fighting and it was wrong. i love animals alot. i don't want them to get hurt.
yes i'll be booing vick, but i'm happy that he's donating money to dogs in need.

    August 20, 2009 at 4:12 pm |
  146. Courtney

Well.. We are all not perfect and we make mistakes. People cant hold that against him forever. I think he should have a chance back in the NFL.

    August 20, 2009 at 5:42 pm |
  147. James

I think that he should play and i will watch his games but i think
he should play because he paid his price in prison for two years
and i think that he will make a difference no matter what team he plays for !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    August 20, 2009 at 6:47 pm |
  148. landon

I think Vick should stay.I think Vick should stay because if you do something it wrong doesn't mean you can't play the sport you are good at.

    August 21, 2009 at 11:19 pm |

Vick should be on the Eagles again because he already served his time in prison.

    August 22, 2009 at 2:04 am |
  153. bonnie

i think that Vick did the wrong thing to treat those dogs like he did! that was really wrong. but, i think he SHOULD go back so he could have a second chance because the dogs that he thrown and stuff had abvsolutely NOTHING to do with his football carrier. so yes i think he SHOULD go back.

    August 23, 2009 at 9:50 am |
  154. Hugh

I think it's good that Michael Vick is joining the Egles. He served his time in jail and everyone deserves a second chance. I think this will be a good chance for him to redeem himself.

    August 23, 2009 at 12:24 pm |

    August 24, 2009 at 12:48 pm |

He showed No Passion to the dogs. Why should we show passion to him? Also the Eagles Already have Donavan McNabb so that is a bad idea to let Vick Return.
    John,

The Dogs He killed didn't get a second chance, Why should he?

    August 24, 2009 at 7:53 pm |
  159. Heather

At his press conference, he said that he was "disgusted." Of what? Him? Of the prisons? Of what he did to those poor dogs? He wasn't specific enough, so I have no idea if he was actually sorry for killing those animals.

    August 24, 2009 at 8:35 pm |
  160. colin

I think that vick should not be able to return to football because he made a bunch of dogs life go and now i think that he should have to lose his life and or stay in jail for the rest of his life.

    August 25, 2009 at 11:50 am |
  161. zach

he made his choices, he messed up big time. he did his time as well. so i would give him the second and final chance to redeem himself. but there is no way in the world for any amount of money that i would give him any more chances.

What Vick did was wrong .He may be a good football player but that just fills hes head with thoughts that he could get away with anything because of his skills.

i think he should be able to return because the thing he did was bad but he served his time in jail and i think he should be able to play again.

Personally, I've always been a Michael Vick fan. I was upset that he did what he did with dogfighting, but I'm psyched to see him back on the football field. He was one of the most dominant quarterbacks in the NFL before he went to prison. I would definitely be more likely to go to an Eagles game in person than stay at home.

I think sould go to a team that he may or may not make that stuped idea again so vick can play more games and start and go back the ATL Falcons as a starting AND GET HIS HEAD STRAIGHT. 🙂

I believe that Michael Vick deserves another shot. Sure, he shouldn't be dogfighting, but he should still be forgiven. However, he should be on a short leash.

i think that vick should not return because he need to learn his lesson about dogfighting. Plus he don't deserve to be a football player and if it was up to me i would not let him near the feild again.

Vick did his time in jail. He should get his second chance, just like everyone else.

Many people have their own view of the superstar returning to the grid iron. But, I for one believe that it is a great thing! People make mistakes in life and his choice was a horrible one yes, but people make decisions such as the one he made everyday and they serve their time and they are allowed to return to their normal lifes. But look at the situation at hand. Yes he is back on the field and trying to return to his normal life, but he is still being punished. Lets look at his figures before his imprisoment. Vick was one of the highest paid players in the NFL, if not the highest. He was making from 30-40 Million dollars. Now he is making I believe 1.8 Million dollars. That is chump change compared to what he at one time was making. His punishment should not go beyond the bars. Drug dealers sale drugs in communites everyday. Some get caught some don't but once they are released they go back to the lifestyle they knew before some don't. Some people even die from the drugs that they purchase such as DJ A.M, he was a self announced crack addict. But no one tried to take his show from him, he wasn't told he could no longer have his show. No one tried to dip into the money he was making. So I feel that Vick should be shown the same respect as other celebrities that have made choices that didn't have the children or the people that have viewed them as idols in mind.
