A Thousand Dollars
On Wednesday's "CNN Student Views" segment, you hear some students talk about what they'd do with a thousand bucks. Well, let's say someone just handed YOU a grand. And it's simply yours to spend or save any way you like - no strings attached.
What do you do with it?

If I had $1,000, I would donate $800 to charity, and then I would use the leftover $200 to buy other items like food, clothing, and other necessities. If for any reason I couldn't donate the money to charity, I would just save all the money for college. Go Michigan Tech! What would you do with $1,000, Carl?
I would save it in my bank and make interest on it (social studies)! I also would take some of it to the mall and buy COACH and go shopping with my friends and buy somethings that i don't even need just because i want it!
I would probably put my grand in a savings fund with a high compiled interest rate. Even if there is no economic downturn, you need to save your money. After paying debts of corse.
If i had that money i would save it in case I don't get a scholarship for a collage and use the money that i got to get where i want to be. i want to be very successful in my life.
Let's see... 1,000$ is too big a money to spend... 600$ for college and 1$ for chips and the rest to buy a car or a motorcycle.
or 300 for college 300 for car and 300 for saving and 100 for buying Wii and Nintendo.
If I had $1000 dollars I would buy a baby monkey as a pet. Then I would donate the rest to a charitable cause such as Samaritan's Purse ,which spreads the love of God to the poor through giving them practical gifts that they could use like a goat to provide milk.
I would help the kids who live in Southeastern Asia or Africa with $500 , give my parents $200, buy as many books(for reading, and for schoolwork) as I can by with $100 and save the rest $200 for when I'm older.
I will help the poor kids in North Korea with all 1000 bucks.
(My grandfather's family is living there -if they are still alive, that is.)
I'll use it to buy a NEW cell phone and MY OWN computer and if there's any mony left, mabye I'll buy my parents a good present. 😉
I shall give most $800 of it away to help the people who is more indigent and give my parents $150. I will buy a few books with the left $50
I would pay CNN for some news about Zac Effron!He rocks!

I would add it with my money I'm saving for a tuition next fall.
I would definitely give half of my money to charity and maybe i could go shopping and buy some clothes and stuff and the rest of them, I would probably buy something valuable such as jewelries for my mom and new shoes for my dad because my mom always wanted those expensive necklaces and things like that. Also, my dad would be happy when I give him a present. He deserve it for his hard work.

WOW! I think I would give 100 dollars to my church, give 100 dollars each to both of my parents, and save 200 bucks in my bank, then I would donate the rest to some charities. 😀

I would donate a quarter to charity, transferr half into bank account, and buy books and toys and things that my parents need and want with the last quarter.
I would first give ten percent to God. Then I'm going to make an account on Scottrade and start trading stocks. If I gain money off of that, I might hire one of those Kogi trucks.

I would buy the stuff to build an under ground bunker
I'd pay someone to create a life-sized sculpture of Carl Azuz that plays recorded puns when you push its nose.
We would host the biggest party of Marinette and have a chocolate fountain.
P.S. We love your jokes, they are to die for.

What I would do with a 1,000 dollars...... half for shopping, half for buying my car. I would have a fun time with a thousand dollars and shopping. That would be sooo fun!!
What I would do with a thousand dollars is... I would go shopping and throw a really big PARTY... then maybe save some of it for when I get older for college

i would spend some on me and then i would give some to charity and some to my parents cause they have hepled me out so much through the year. i will also give some to the homeless and if i have any left over i would keep it for me
if i had a thousand dollars i would throw a huge party. I would probably pay my friends bail after the huge party.
I wold get my permit and then buy a car. and whatever I would have left I would go to the mall with friends and then go shopping.
I would give some of the money to our local animal shelter and I would give some to my family and the rest I would save in a account for college.

I would save up for collage and my first car.
If i had a thousand i would probable save some of it for colage and take a couple hundred and bye a car. Then if my mom or any of my family needed money they would get it. My family always comes first!

We watch you every day. You and your show are awesome. If I got a thousand dollars, I'd get a laptop, or video editing software. Or go to Yellowstone Park with my family by car and stay in low-cost-yet-safe motels. Think that would cover gas and cheap motels.

One thing i would do with the money is to save it for a tractor trailer because my dad is a truck driver and I want to be just like him.
The other thing i would do is go to college to be a welder
I would save it, either for a car or college. And I might donate some to charity.
If I had $1000 dollars i save $900 for my family and I for rought time in this world and the other $100 dollars for me to spend on what I want and need.

if i were to receive a $1,000 i would want to probably buy alot of shoes and clothes. well maybe, because there are alot of people in need in my city so i might donate some of it to take care of little kids and families. another choice i would choose is to put it in my bank because that could go to my college fund. there are alot of things that i could do with it and i would have to think about it before i decided to spend it. its a tough choice for me.

My class wants to save up for a field trip to go and meet Carl.
I would use it to help my mother get out of the hospital because she has skin cancer.
If someone handed me $1,000 dollars then I would probly save it up for college. I wouldn't spend it because the economy is really in a bad place right now. I don't have any money saved up for college yet though.
I would buy some things for myself. I would also save some for my mom and dad. The rest I would just put it in the bank.
I personally would do many different things. First of all I would go spend $350 or so shopping at the mall, $100 I would give to my church, and the rest I would put in saving for when I get a car.

I'd give some to my parents, so that they could use it smartly for bills and stuff. I'd give some to charity, and some I'd use for buying locally to help our local economy, and then I'd save some for myself and my sisters, so that we could get some of the things that we have wanted.

First off if someone just randomly handed me $1,000 dollars i would probably faint. then when i woke up i would go sraight to the bank and put half of it in there. That way i dont spend it all on stupid things. As for the other half i would buy a lot of closth and get something really nice for my girlfriend. I would also give my parents money because lately they have had to spend a lot of money on me.

If I had a thousand dollars I would fly with my teacher Ms. Dudley to CNN News headquarters so she could meet Carl. She thinks he's soooooo hot!
If I won 1,000 dollars right now, I would put it all away for my mother's retirement fund to open up a shelter that spays and neuters animals for free.
I have 5 more years till I graduate highschool so I would lend it to my sister who just graduated to thank her for all of the favors she has done for me. She's on her way to UMD! Go Bulldogs!

i wouldn't spend it on any girls no more. But i would send most of itto my college education. And the rest i would spend on personal stuff like pencils and paper for school. And if i had any left it would go to a hoe bo that would need it more than something stupid that i wouldn't need after a few minutes.
Put it in the bank of course! Then I'd save it up and use it for manga books!! (LOL!!) No I'd use it to help my family pay bills and stuff and for college! And OKAY, I'd use SOME of it for manga and a new laptop!!
to invest this USD1,000 into the stock market, with only one kind of the share and holding it till it doubles, maybe in next year. Good luck to everyone.

i would: spend some on collage, Flyers stuff (no surprise), family and friends!! Ps: Mr. Yannarelaa is the BEST!! GO BLUE!!!

With a thousand dollars I'd probably save most of ti for collage and such. In this economy though it might go to paying for tuition and bills with my parents. But most of it would be saved in the end. I love your show and I'm so sad to see it leave for the summer. You guys rock!!

500$ I'll deposit into a reliable stock in Japan or Korea. The rest I'll use to help my grandmother out of hospital. She had diabetes so she needed to get a surgery but after we have done it, the price is too high.
We might get sued by the hospital. 500$ would be good to put them off a little while. And if the stock suceeds, I would pay all the rest. That is if I do happen to posses 1000$....

I will give all my money for my long lost grandfather in DPRK.I know he is still alive but that he is going through a hard time.Even though it is not alot of money,I haeard that you can eat meal with 1dollar.

if i got that much money, i would spend most of it on my trip to NYC this summer... but i guess i should be a little generous and give some to charity. only cuz im a good person. 🙂

i would use it to move to Ireland cause my family has wanted to for like ever, and then i would give the rest to charity. What would you do Carl?
If I had all that money I would buy lots and lots of games, and then I would save the rest for colledge.

I would keep $ 400.00 with the $ 400.000 I would buy a netbook, Ipod, and save some money and whatever is left give it to the poor!!:) We do not need DSI, IPod, Netbooks, cell phones, fancy cars, fancy houses, toys, decorations for our rooms, expencive clothes you can go to the Selvation army and use hand me downs.

I would give half the money to Riley hospital to search for a cure for cancer. The other half I would save 250 of the rest for college. The other 250 i would spend on redecorating my room.

I would start a Self Help Group for women (Only) in the Middle east.
the 1000$ will be put as a capital for the SHG, as a start it is going to be accurately studied in terms of location, demographics, type of society, and women's root problems : training, education, health, and maybe infrastructures.
long term project will be to enlarge it and make it an NGO, with the help of media sponsors ( interested in their social work image) and the support of the local population I will be able to expand divisions throught all the Middle East.
this is totally what i would do if i had a thousand dollors.....I would use it to pay for a expencive camp i want to go to..1,000 dollor camp.or just use it to get a 4 wheeler or a DS.or a labtop computer. or a ipod or a cellphone..............gosh im greedy!!ppsss im so sad because no more cnn student news for t he rest of the year:[
