Susan Boyle: First in YOUR Book?

A lot of folks consider singer Susan Boyle's second-place finish on "Britain's Got Talent" to be a HUGE upset.  There's no doubt that Diversity (the dance group that won) was amazing.  But Boyle was such an overnight success - someone who exploded into Internet and television superstardom - that many thought the competition was hers well before it was over.

You may remember seeing Boyle's breakout performance as a "Before We Go" segment on CNN Student News.  Do you think she should've won the British competition?  If there were no age limit on American Idol, do you think she could've won that?

I believe that she is very talented but, thier are others that are also talented. She was way to popular at first then he became "old news" Everyone expected the same from her. She may have had a very good chance on amarican Idol but, Adam and Chris may have been to much for her to take on.

Today everything, matter of fact anything is possible in the society we live in. Once if you have been a winner somewhere it doesn't take that much of effort for you to become a winner again....

I say that she should've won the British competition. Age before beauty, I always say, but this would be an exception.

If there was no age limit she would have definitly won. I don't know why people are stressing about everyone age group. I feel that everyone should get a chance to do there own thing.

What really matters is that she was only a normal person with bushy hair and thick eyebrows who sang once of two each week. But she suddenly become a great star and all these attentions might have made her exhausted.Well she tried her best and that is what matters!

I wonder if she would be able to sing like before again.Sudden attentions could have caused alot of stress.

She was criticized for changing her hair, and buying a new dress after being famous.I believe that if I were in her shoes, I might have given up long before!

I think she has a very good singing voice and even though she doesnt look that pretty you cant judge someone by the way they look and she as the highest singing voice that I have ever heard in my life and I hope uses it well.

I think she should have won Britain's Got Talent, she was amazing.
I sadly don't think she would have won something like American Idol though, the are a very visual show and hardly pay attention to the person's real talent. And they are always looking for a more pop-ish sound.Ms.Boyle has a beautiful, classic soundin voice.

we think it was a big upset. Everyone has talent. Just becuase she has talent doesnt mean noone else does. She was good though. We think that she will still be a big hit through the world. And Carl, keep doing your funny jokes. They make my 7th period class laugh...hahaha

I think that she wouldn't win because Adam Rocked and Susan sang a high Opra kind of thing and kids our age like rock more than Opra.

I think its ok that Susan Boyle didn't win because I think that she got enough fame by just being on that show so even though she didn't win someone might make her a CD. I don't think she would've won American Idol because the music she sings is too formal for the audience who watches that show.

I think it's OK for Susan Boyle to win a second place because I think she got enough fame by being on the 'Britain's got Talent' show.
I don't think that she would've won American Idol because her singing is not what American Idols sing. It is too formal. But if she could sing American Idols' songs well I'm sure there's a hope for her!

I think she is very brave British Woman. Even if she is ugly, she did well.

i think she is a good singer but people only put her in the news because they thought she was ugly and when she did something different to herself people got mad and stopped talking about her...you cant win with people whatever you do they are always upset for some reason..i think she is good but she mostly sings opera and not everyone likes that stuff so thats why she didn't win

Susan Boyle=great singer. She most definitely deserved first place. I think Boyle was better than Diversity. However, Hollie Steele, the 10 year old talented singer was great, too.
