We give ours on Thursday's show, thanks to our writer, Jordan (and a little help from William himself). Now it's YOUR turn. In honor of "Talk Like Shakespeare Day," tell us your favorite Shakespeare line, or do what the man himself did: Write your own! It doesn't have to be in iambic pentameter, but I'll give you bonus points if you can work in the word "forsooth."
Carl Azuz, Anchor
i do not know any shackpher.
Carl,
I think my favorite Shakespere line is "To be or not to be that is the question whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune," from Hamlet.
I really don't know alot about shakesphere. Hey carl nice way to end the show thursday, a little long don't you think
this are though
Oh forsooth, oh forsooth, my tooth, how does it hurt so muchith, when I go to brushith. Yes, my do I wonderith, if it shall ever healith, my sorith. Please help me on my troublith with thy toothith. Yes, goobyith nowith carlith. Yours troulyith, alexanderith.
Forsooth Carl! Thy puns always make thee laugh...
Take heed and lend me your ear, it may be-eth his birthday but thy ninja shall turn into sumo if Japan hath lunch as we do.
I have know clue how to speak like Shakespear!
Now thy Carl , forsooth a punneth may come only oneth, but yours come by dayeth, each timeth i smile at my deseketh and wondereth what it meaneths.
Oh well, cant blame me for trying – eth?
To be, or not to be, that is the question my friend.
I fear, too early: for my mind misgives Some consequence yet hanging in the stars Shall bitterly begin his fearful date With this night's revels and expire the term Of a despised life closed in my breast By some vile forfeit of untimely death.
The Shakespear looks awsome ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! But i dnt know how to speak like Shakespear though
Hark! A golden light shineth down upon yee with pure and gentle warmth. A halo to sit upon thine crown, cherubs to part your path. Dusk come soon, but the light shineth loud and bright when in your company. I sit myself down and I contemplate the ways and complexitys of your beuaty. And I am left dumbstruck! A fool!
I couldn't do it! Shakespeare's talent is just too much for me to handle! He's just too good!
i think it is awesome that we are celebrating about him! we need more days like this to share and express our opinions on light subjects. while watching this, our class found out we are going to be evacuated because of the fire. you can see the smoke from the school and from my house.
To be, or not to be, that's the question. Whether tis nobler to suffer the costs of a terribleth economy by eating healthy, or to go the cheap way and risk thy health?
(There are many moreth from where that came from)
See, how she leans her cheek upon her hand! O that I were a glove upon that hand, that I might touch that cheek.
It's thee or your called a thee-ft. lol carl!!!
i tried-eth doing this-eth it did not work-eth
I must be cruel only to be kind;
Thus bad begins, and worse remains behind.
Hey, Carl, how about YOU make up a Shakespeare line using "Forsooth" P.S- A tip, Foresooth means- "Seeking the Truth"
But just in case, I have a little line of mine that I love of Shakespeares:
"To be, or not to be, that is the question."
Forsooth, Did Shakespeare Know Best? this is the COOLEST comment ever
Carl,
I live in the Myrtle Beach area, near the blazing wildfires that have been on national news lately. We were evacuated from school today and will not have school tomorrow either. We are awaiting news of evacuating our homes as well. Many of my friends are very scared about this fire, because the wind keeps changing direction. Will you please make a shout out on Monday (when we'll be back in school 4/27) about this situation? Thank you so much Carl.
Afraid of the Blaze, Melinda
to say forsooth or not say forsooth that is the question!!!=D

Hey Carl!! I just wanted to write on your blog even though I haven't for a while because I did everytime before and my comments never got posted. I wanted to tell you that I am a poet, and that I write poetry. I prefer to write it about how I am feeling, but I also do it for school assignments. So, yeah, it's kind of fun!
oh forsooth oh forsooh this is thy end for me and you
Thy Carl hast done it. He has madeth a funny joke.
A horse! My homework for a horse!! : )
"Forsooth, methinks Carl maketh perplexing puns." (Methinks Shakespeare has more talent than I.
O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name.
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love
yeah yeah i know its not a line but its so lovely.!
this-ith is harder-ith than i thought-ith,
THH!
"All the world is a stage.." William Shakespeare
This is forsooth true. That was by Shakespears this one is by me:
" All of life is a game, and we are merely players."
Did I do good?
If it were done when 'tis done, then 'twere well/ If were done quickly./
If th' assassination/ Could trammel up the consequence, and catch,/ with this surcease, success; that but this blow/ Might be the be-all and the end-all here,/ But here, upon this bank and shoal of time,/ We'ld jump the life to come.
thy self, thy self, is sitting at me schoolith wonderith why thy must go to thy school? WELL the question is unknown-ith?
forsooth, I love your show, Just kidding! But I don't really know How you could use the word I love your show! How do use the word?
romeo, romeo where for out tho romeo!
"My words fly up, my thoughts remain below: Words without thoughts never to heaven go." this is my favorite quote, and it always will be it speaks right to me!!! ~*~
My favourite Shakespeare is probably:
For in the sleep of death what dreams may come,
Once we have shuffled off this mortal coil
Must give us pause.
From Hamlet.
Loved your iambic pentameter (attempt) at the end, Carl!
Here is a line I am making up as I go:
To be or not to be is not the question,
but what isith the question is wheather or not I shall go over thereith or over hither.
Yeah,
not to good,
but... Does it matter?
'To be or not to be that is the question' is my favorite line of all
I think... I don't really like shakepeare's books though
shakespeare looks so cool, have you seen a pic of him?
forsooth, we love carl-eth
We do not feel that his foreign policy and friendly approach towards dictators will help the United States interest. His meetings with the Castro brothers, and is friendliness towards Mr. Chavez has lost him lots of creditability with a large number of people who voted for him. Cuba has nothing to offer the U.S. and we should not compromise our principles by dealing with countries that violate human rights. Don’t forget that the Castro brothers were in charge during the missiles crisis, and emptied out their prisons and mental institutions in the street of Miami in the 80’s. This is why many of us rate Obama very low. He said that he would not sit and have tea with the Castro’s but did even more.
Thou pig-skinned thumb biter!
oh carl oh carl my dear, we have tried so hard to make thee happy by writing on the blogs and many more, but he who runs does not see in his eyes that we children here In Omaha are dying to get a shout out by the dear host Carl Azus. oh carl oh carl please give us a shout out soon so thy might get extra credit (hopefully) and make my dear forsaken teacher happy.
I couldn’t just pick one so i picked two. "All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players". And "Neither a borrower nor a lender be; For loan oft loses both itself and friend. Peace out my man. And be cool cat.
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."
I think he's trying to do too much at once.
Shakespeare is awesome! My favorite part it from Romeo and Juliet, I don't remember the exact lines but... I like it when Juliet finds Romeo dead from the poison, and tries to have some herself.
TO BE OR NOT TO BE THAT IS THE QUESTION!? (thats shakesprere right?)
Oliver, so innocent and pure,
a wound I have only you may cure.
I seek a love as fair as thee,
it seems as though we will soon be.
As painfull as a thorn,
my love for thee I've sworn.
I gaze into thy dark brown eyes,
I shall not make a compromise.
I cannot forsooth that thou dost not love me,
for I beith more kind-hearted than she.
I come to thee with the heart of a lover,
I wear this mask as a most clever cover. (I don't really love a guy named oliver, but the name goes well with the poem) -Melissa
"To be, or not to be, that is the question." It really makes you think, until you read the play. 🙂
"Thou villain Capulet! Hold me not, let me go!"
-Montague, Romeo & Juliet
"Life is like a game of chance"
"Life is like a box of chocolate"
(yum)
come, let's away to prison; we to alone will sing
"They do not love that do not show their love. The course of true love never did run smooth. Love is familiar. Love is a devil. There is no evil angel but love."
OR "Now join your hands, and with your hands your heart"
Now me speaking shake " thou shal not love for love will only break thy and crumble to the ground for love is the devil of life" it is not the best i made it up as i went
"Do you bite your thumb us sir, if so do you quarrel sir."
i am a romantic person...mine is probably "How do I love thee?Let me count the ways"
I'm not a big fan of Shakespeare, but I am a hopeless romantic, so mine would probably be something from Romeo and Juliet. I do like that play very much, I say it like last week and it was AMAZING!! I wish I could think of my own but I can't I'm not that talented!! =]
I rather loathe Shakespeare. I’ve been forced to read his dribble throughout my entire high school career due to the honors literature classes I have taken. I no longer consider his works relevant. He is studied because of his fame, not because of any quality of his work.
i agree with Hayley. Fine lines!
I think the line, "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways,” is very romantic...
My best Shakespeare to be or not to be
romeo romeo where art thy romeo!:-0
We had a Romeo and Juliet quiz the day we watched this and the bonus question was what was important about this day and so since we had watched this we knew that it was his birthday! But it was also the day he died so if you didnt put that you didnt get the extra point! (i put them both and didnt watch this until after i took it! )
"To thine self be true"- shakespeare is the best quote
My favorite Shakspeare line is "Double, doulbe toil and trouble. Fire burn and cauldren bubble" My L.A. teacher is teaching my class Macbeth as a class assignment & she addicted me 2 that line!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Forsooth, thine sweatervest is not in the least inasupicious."
idk any shakespear w.e stuff...
"TO BE OR NOT TO BE, THAT IS THE QUESTION" I guess. It makes you think really hard of the meaning.. That is, until you read the script, you do...^^
I LOVE YOUR SHOWS, MR.AZUS(should i call you carl?? It seems impolite~)
SALLY FROM KOREA(SOUTH)
To be or not to be that is the question
