I can't remember whether I got a haircut for my very first job interview back in high school, but I do recall wearing a pair of khakis, button-down shirt and tie. Within a week or two, I was proudly earning my first paycheck. And then, like now, I spoke to hundreds of people in a single shift - only my talking in that job was usually limited to one question: "Paper or plastic?"
