Female Football Players
Think about this: Some of the guys trying to tackle the two female football kickers featured on Friday's show weigh twice as much as the girls do! That doesn't seem to bother the kickers, though - one of them even said she wanted to tackle.
Now I don't know if most of you other girls out there would want to go up against 200-plus-pound guys. But whether you're a guy or a girl, I would like to know what you think of girls on a guys' football team.

I personally think that no sport should be gender defined because I happen to be a student that would play field hockey if I wasn't a soccer fanatic. this is a great demonstration of how you can do anything if you set your mind to it.

I play Field Hockey and that is girls sport but thinking about girls on a football team is a little odd, but it is cool that those girls are stepping out.

I think that girls have just as much chance as breaking something as guys, but that should be their choice and people shouldn't complain about girls being on a guys football team. Also don't tell us that we can't tackle or that we can't be quarterback and wide- reciever and stuff like that.

I think girls playing football is a great idea!I am a girl so that may be why I think it`s a great idea, if the girls are good enough to be out there on the field.I think she should at least have a chance.I don`t think it`s fair that some people think that just because it`s a contact sport ,or because it`s always been a guys sport doesn`t mean girls can`t play it.Some girls are actually very athletic and they like getting out there and trying there hardest.
It doesn't matter if you are a girl on a football team the only thing that matters is having fun and WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But winning is not everything.
I think it's okay if you are strong. But if you're not, well...for your own good,don't. Those girls are just amazing! I really hope they won't get hurt! :O
i think that its odd but good for girls to do a harsh sport because they are usually going shopping or doing there nails but i think that its good for girls
I think that no matter the gender they should all get to do the things that guys get to do. If the girls want to hit let them. I know that the guys weigh more than 200 plus pounds but guys can get hurt doing it also.

I think that girls playing football is great, it teaches them self confidence and how to stand up to boys. I play football at my high school, in Muscatine iowa. i play safety and linemen or linebacker. Being on the football team gives you alot of respect from other boys and teachers.
i think that it is great that she is wanting to try to hang with the guys but i also think thats why there is powder-puff. so they both need to try that because like that one girl said she wants to tackle and thats why there is powder-puff football.
Amanda thinks its really cool that they let girls play football. She says it's a very interesting sport and shouldn't just be for guys. She wants to play football in high school anyway.
Haylea agrees. Girls should be able to do the same sports that guys do. They are capable of it. So yeah, she thinks it's cool that girls play in high school football.
I think it is a very intersesting sport and it shouldnt be for just guys, it should be for all stundents. They are following thier dreams so I timk that they should not be kicked off the team!

I think it cool that they are letting grils play football. i'm a guy and i like volley ball and we can't play because were guys and they are saying it is a girl's sport .
Austin says-I think it's really good that there having fun, but if they get hurt really bad that would be bad. Cassaundra says-I think it's both a cool and bad thing. The bad part is they don't get to play just as much as a guy because nobody would want them to get hurt. The cool part is that girls are showing that they can do whatever a guy can do. That girls can do want ever the set there heart and mind to it, it will become a reality.

We think it is completley fine that girls can play highschool football. It is no different from guys doing cheerleading or volleyball, ect. We think it was good of them to go for it even though it was a guy sport. If someone likes a sport it is completley fine to do it. No matter what gender! It is good that they did; the most important thing is for them to have fun and to enjoy the sport of football. Also, if any other girls wants to do another guy sport then they should be just as brave as these girls have.

I think that female football players are pretty cool, but I think that the guys would fell bad if the tackled one of the girls. So the girls that are playing football are awesome!

Well there are a few exceptions i think of girls being able to play an actual position like QB or running back or linemen. Other than that there isnt much they can do because physically they arent big enough. I think as long as its only a few girls playing, who actually can, it isnt that bad of an idea.
The only problem i would have with girls plying football or anyother "guy sports" would be the guys. At my highschool in New York Mills i had a classmate that tried out for the football team and the guys were aggressivly harder on HER. They would talk about wanting to make her cry because it would show her that it was a guys sport. They didnt know people could hear them most of the time walkin in the halls. I supported my classmate and i wanted to see her play football, i didnt see anything wrong with it. I would love to see more girls go out and kick butt!
I think that girls should play football if they really want to. If they are good enough to be on the team, then I think that they have every right to play.

I will say this only once. It will not catch on. Sure there will be more female kickers, but it will never be much more than that. Women just don't have the upper body strength to stand up against a skilled male linebacker.

I think that it is okay to have a girl player(s) on a football team. They deserve to get in on the action that is happening. Yes it would be a little scary to face a bunch of tall, big guy, out there, but GO GIRLS!!!!! They need to stand up to boy, and have a little fun playing sports thaqt were ment for boys in the beginning. Now, the world is changing, and girls arn't just on the side lines, doing cheers for their favorite team. They are on the feild, and getting dirty!
I think that girls should stay with the makeup and shoes and do volunteer work around the house instead of taking the spotlight away form the tough guys. Guys are more tougher that I think Obama and Biden will win. I don't think that girls sould play football. They will try to make a complaint why they cant go to practice like " I'm douing my hair," of maybe " I have pinples on my face.They will just ruin the sport with lipstick on the ball!!!! they will worry about getting mud on their jerseys.

I think it's terrible that they're even allowed on the team. I mean I'm all for women's rights but they are risking their safety by playing against much bigger people. Boys are naturally built to be bigger and stronger. If they want to play that bad they should try to get a all Female team organized.

I believe that being equal is a good thing, and girls should be able to play football. But, having girls play on a guys team does seem harmful just because they could be hurt more easily. So, just like lacrosse or even rugby I think we should have female football teams. and maybe even a male volleyball team.
I think that girls on a football team is okay, but it all depends on the girl. I mean, girls and boys play soccer, so why not football? And besides, they're just kickers anyway. It's not like they're getting tackled 🙂

I find it perfectly fine if a girl wants to play football. It's their choice if they want to get creamed or be the ones giving the hits. Girls can play pee wee hockey with boys so why not football? Equality should be carried out even in sports. I think there should be a choice for the girls though. Whether to play on an all girls team, or play with the boys. Girls should have the same rights as guys, so i think that it's just their choice.
I absolutely think that girls should be able to play guys football. But the girls that are playing need to actually know how to play so they don't get seriously hurt. In order to be tackling with guys that weigh over 200 pounds the girls probably shouldn't weigh under 150 pounds. I know a lot of girls that are better at football then some of the guys I know on the football team, so skill wise guys aren't necessarily better, but size wise they usually are. Guys don't really need to go easy on the girls when they tackle, because if the girls aren't tough enough to be tackled, they probably shouldn't play.
I think girls should be able to play football if they want to. If they want to play with us then its fine becous some girls are really good at football and will help win or contrubute to the team. Girls SHOULD be able to play guys football.

I think it is right that girls finally step up and show that girls can't just do a certain sport. My sister plays football I mean I am use to it. It it usually fun to go and watch her game. Their are times on the field when the guy's hit her on the field and don't evan know its a girl until she takes off her helmet. It is awesome that girls can play. I can't wait until more step up. I think that it right for girls to stand up for them selfs and get out on the field to play with the boys. Football traditionally started off a boys game, but all over the world girls are starting to play football and show everyone that football can become a girls game too.

I respect that the chicks ATTEMPT to play football... Some chicks, like the two kickers, are very good athletes. Im a guy but i know that takes a lot of courage to go out there and try out for the team. I think that those chicks are studs and I hope you guys have a good season...

I honestly think its a really good idea for girls to be playing football. Who cares if the guys are twice their size and weight! They obiviously know that they might get tackled or hurt, so who is anyone to say they cant? Girls can do anything guys can. And if they guys have a problem with a girl being on their team, I'm guessing its because they are affraid of the girl being better than himself.
And theres also no reason for the guys to take it easy on the girls.. They know what they are standing up agianst.
I think that it is just fine to have girls on the field with us guys i mean its there body let them deal with the bruses but i dont think its far to say that girls are the only ones not allowed in some sports because you dont see any guys playing softball in high school.
I have mixed feelings about this topic. For one I know of a couple towns that have girl kickers on their varsity teams and I think its kind of cool. But it's rough out there on the gridiron. To be playing with 200lbs plus guys and some players that might even going to play at good college football school. For even a guy their can be hits that can leave you on the ground a while. So I think if there would be enough girls that would want to be on an actual football team, pads and all. They should have a girls football team. That way it's with their caliber of play and probably even a little more fun. Don't get me wrong I don't think its wrong that they are playing football with guys, but maybe it could be better off for both sides if they would just have an all girls football team.

I think those girls can do whatever they want to. If they're good enough to be on the boy's team and want to do it, go for it! Don't let anyone stop you! If these girls are going into boy's football, they probably already know the risks, and want to do it anyway. How would you feel if someone told you that you can't play the sport you love because of your gender? They let boys who aren't 200 lbs play, and who's to say the risk isn't the same for them as it is for the girls?

Girls are too baby to play football. Football is a man sport. Football is only for men . Football is tough and for strong men. People get hurt and injured in football.If a girl got tackle in football they would get injured badly.

I think that girls playing on a guys football team would get a ton of controversy and that they would most likely get treated unfairly. But why not have an all girls football team. There's basketball, soccer, tennis, track, swimming and many other sports that have both guys and girls teams. So why not have a girl’s football team? We as girls should be able to try anything that we want even if that does mean playing football. But I don't think that girls should get to play on a guy’s football team, because guys are bigger and usually more muscular and stronger than girls, so it would be unfair for the girl’s because they wouldn’t have as fair as a chance as the boys if they played on a guy’s team. But why doesn’t someone come up with a girl’s football team that’s only for girls, then we would be able to play someone our own size at our own ability level.
I agree with the football kickers. If they want to play with the boys, then let them! I'm playing on a boys ice hockey team, and I play even if I get hit. It doesn't matter the gender, if they want to play, they should be allowed to. Sports shouldn't be sexist. It's unfair to say if football is a boys' sport, because even though boys typically play football more than girls, but both genders are capable of playing!

The coaches should be just as tough on the girls and give them an equal amount of playing time. If a school is completely against girl football players on the regular team they should start a rugby or powderpuff football program.
There is no rule in Football that says girls can't play. The only reason girls don't play is because they choose not to. I think it is great that they are playing, but it would be harder for them to get as strong as guys are because guys have more testostorone which helps us to build muscle.
I think that it is a good thing that females are getting the chance to play on a primarily male football team. I think that it gives females more opportunity to play the sport that they enjoy. I also think that if the girls are good enough to play with the boys then why not? So what if a girl wants to play football. I know a girl that plays football and she is a defensive end. The girl dominates on her side of the ball. Im a running back and really dont care if i get hit, but honestly, from stories i have heard about her; i would be scared to come up to her on the field. She hurt he last guy she hit. If your a girl, and want to play, go for it. Just remember that the guys dont think you can hurt them. Prove them wrong.
I think its fine, because sometime girls need to use their muscles. If you never try how it’s going to be good or bad, then let’s see the girls in football field. Girls and Guys are the same so if boys can do, also girl can do it too. Most people think maybe it will be hard for girl, but sometimes it’s hard it fun too.

The kickers do get tackled. Not all the time sure, but they do. You people are just thinking into the games. Go into the practice. Football practice is MUCH more brutal than the games are. im in highschool now, but i remebmer the 1st time i played football for a school. Our middle school coach said "if you can survive spring training, your on the team." How does that sound? i bet most of the guys here that are saying, "GIRLS ARE TOO BABY TO PLAY FOOTBALL! LEAVE IT TO THE GUYS" dont even play football themselves. come to our practices. see how long you live.

i think its perfectly fine if they are a valuable player. I once heard about a girl on a soccer team and she could kick farther than any 15 year old in the world and they kicked her of because she was a girl.

But trust me, I know lots of girls who can play football better than some of the guys on our school football team and who wouldn’t mind the violence that comes with the sport.

I think anyone should be able to play any sport they want. Although in football the players are just to big and strong for women to go agaisnt them. Why dont you think you see more female players. Maybe they should come up with a league for womens football.
I do think a girl could do football but that nathanel kid is right once it gets more competitive like high school football most girls arent tough to hang in with big 6'0 220 pound football players its a contact sport but if there is a girl out there who can hang in than more power to her... but most girls arent that big
I think girls can play as well as the boys. Whatever guys can do girs can do the same (sometimes even a little better). Either way girls can play football too 🙂
I think that if females want to play football then they should make a female team. I think this because it is a huge risk for women to play against men because men and women are built completely different. When women play against and with men they have a huge risk of getting completely hurt and not just minor injuries. These women could get seriously hurt.

I think that the female football palyers are a good thing. Girls can do anything that boys can do, and most of the time we are better at it, too! The thing about us not having enough upper body strength is just a stereotype because I am personally very strong in my arms and upper body. I think that all boys have a too high of an esteem level. 🙂
Girls are just as tough as guys we have to go through child birth. So if a girl wants to try out football why not? Everyone should have the chance to try something new. Besides I know a lot of girls that are a lot stronger than some guys, not all guys are tough that is such a stereotype. Girls can do whatever guys can do!

We have a girl on our high school football team that plays first string. she's a line man and pancakes some of the guys on the opposing team. i say if a girl is willing to try, then let them be.
I don’t really like the fact the women can play on football teams because I would feel bad after trucking a girl and they had gotten hurt its different when I tackle a guy because I know they can take the hit

I think it is pretty cool that there are girls on football teams. I mean I think it would still be really hard for a girl to be able to compete against a guy who probably can outweigh her by quite a bit, but if that is what the girl really wants to do then she should go for it.
I saw that girls should be able to play whatever sports they want to. It’s going to be there fault if they get hurt or not be able to perform like the guys do regularly. Any one should be allowed to play something they drive to do in life, so it’s straight with me.

I think that females that are in football can set a good roll model for others to say that anyone can do anything if they really want to.
i think if wemen want to play a male sport. Then that is fine if they want to get hurt if they want to try it out then i think they should it would be good for them to try.
My opinion on this topic is that girls should have the right to play football, and in any position that they choose. Although im personally against the whole girls playing football thing. I don’t think it’s appropriate for girls to play, I just think its manly and not made for girls to play. Alongside with being a manly sport girls are more likely to get hurt then a 300 pond 7 ft boy. It’s the girls decision to play and the coaches should not discriminate against them because they are girls.

men and women bodies are made diffrent therefore i dont think women should or can play football. even men have long term damages to their bodies later down the road becuase of such hard hitting that goes on. think about what would and will happen to women if they go against a 18 year old boy who has a little to much Testosterone. I think that girls should be allowed to play football. One of my friends was a kicker for her middle school football team and she was better than the other kicker who was a boy. It really shouldn’t matter, if they are good then let them play. They are the ones making the decision to try out for the team in the first place, so I’m sure that they have some idea of what they are going up against.

It would be cool to have a female football player at my school because our team is just made of boys so we need to mix it up a bit. Another thing why that is cool is because no one in our conference has a girl on there team. So we would be the only team in our conference on our team.

That would be mean if a (200 ton) heavier football player decides to tackle anybody he wants and tackles the wrong person/gender then that could be a problem and that won't look pretty and neither is those girls attitude but girls can be as much stronger then a guy could or she might even weight more (in the muscles).

The other football players did not treat them any differently on the field, the girls got tackled pretty hard a few times. I play soccer on a boy's soccer team and I don't mind it , but I would not mind playing football either. So do not think for a minute that football is a boy sport. People who do not give respect to girls should not exist. Boys can do gymnastics, so why can't girls play football? I live in Maine. And normally, around here, the girls don't want to play "boy" sports. Especially football. They're too chicken to get their hands dirty. As a football player I will say having a girl on your team can be a problem after having one on our team most of the players tend to be worried about her rather than the game. Also its great that girls are getting into the sport but the way the game was formed is around the mans body a good weight for a football player in their league is 200+ lbs how many 200 pound girls do you know that are in an athletic state of mind. I think that women should have all the same rights that men do, so if a female wants to play football there should be nothing standing in her way, besides the hurdles that every other football player must face. Men are not let on football teams if they do not have the agility and skill that the sport requires of them. Therefore, women who also don't have these traits should not be let on the team. I think its fine if girls want to play football in high school, but when girls start playing on college and maybe professional teams, it can be a problem because the way women build muscle would never be able to add up to what it takes to go against a 260+ pound lineman. Its just not safe.
I think that the gender of the person who is trying out for any sport shouldn't be taken into consideration. They should ignore that and equally test each person based on their skills purely. Of course, most girls will not qualify just because of how our genetics work but it would still be fair. No one wants to get hurt.

We need to achieve independently what we goal for.
I think that girls should get the same kind of opportunity that guys do, especially when it comes to sports. Yes, girls work different, are built different, and normally act different, but they can still have fun with the guys while expressing themselves. They are often overlooked in major American sports, but I know that I have a friend who's mom could probably take most of the guys on that football team, so I would encourage all girls to take a leap! It wouldn't be every girl's thing, but for those who want to give it a shot, I say more power to you! As long as they are having fun and getting good exercise, then it sounds like a good plan to me....
I think that fine that girls play football...... But what about us guys??? Can we play girl sports like softball or volley ball with them??? But I wonder would the national football league or a European team let them go pro??? Those are things we might never KNOW!!!
I think that it is kind of cool seeing a girl on a football team. It just shows that girls can still do the same sports as guys can without complication. Plus it shows the guys that girls can do a lot of the things that guys can. I mean sports should not be seperated in to gender. That is what a lot of schools are based on. This sport is for girls and they are the only ones who can play or the other way around. That is like being sexist.
Ok, honestly i think that sure when your younger and wanna play football with the guys that's ok you know enjoy yourself. But once you get older you start playing with the older boys and if your better than a guy they will get intimidated and most likely ya know like plow u over and try to hurt you just to make a point. So i mean girls can play if they wanna but i sure wouldn't.
I think that because guys and girls are equal it's totally normal. If you want to get tackled it's your choice. I mean if it's fun! I like volleyball and a little soccer, but if there are girls out there that want to play a normally guy's sport, that's totally your choice.
It doesn't really matter. It doesn't matter if you are really strong, it matters that you are determined(though not always.) Yeah, I have pros and cons on girls being on football teams but hey lets just let them. Maybe they might be better then some guy football players, I don't know. I guess we just have to wait and see.
I told my mom that I would love to be a female football player. Since I love football anyway I think it would be cool. We already had a girl on the football team here in Union City,Michigan. My parents would most defiantly cheer me on if I did. My mom would go to every game and I would be considered the tomboy in the family because my little sis hates football because she might get hurt.
Female football players? My feelings are if the girls are good enough to play, than why not? My only concern would be than what's good for "gander" should be good for the "goose." Do we want the guys to play on a female team?

I think girls should be able to play football. Football is a fun and active sport that everyone should be able to play. I use to play football when i was in elementary school and yeah it hurt like crap getting tackled but its funner that doing boring flag football.
I think it is a fabulous idea to let females play Football. Then us females show that we can play a guy sport. I think it should be half of the team as females.
My thoughts on girls and guys playing football together would be that I think if the girls want to play football they should be able to. Guys can play most the sports girls can so why can't girls play football if they want to. Boys and Girls should be equal in many aspects, and it should also be equal with sports. Just because football is a rough sport doesn't mean girls can't handle it. It would be alright if the girls wanted to play on the football team.
I don't think that there's anything wrong with girls being on a football team. Guys aren't any better than girls so they shouldn't be treated any differently. Not allowing them to play is being sexiest. If a guy wanted to play volleyball and there was no guy sport going on at that time then they would have to let them play. Last year at our school we didn't have a guy sport during volleyball so then any guy would have been able to play. But now there's football so they can play football or nothing and its same with us and we play volleyball or nothing. Girls should be able to play football.
As a active sports player, I think that it is inspiring to see athletes of the feminine gender playing on a usually male sports team. We need more co-ed teams that work together and take each other as more than just a girl or just a boy but as a team member. I, personally would consider joining a football team but I am not sure if we still have a Powderpuff girls' football team or not but I would definitely join if we did. Discrimination is just wrong. To be 100% truthful, I would be inspired to have a male of mine join volleyball or cheerleading. Do whatever makes you happy as long as it doesn't interfere with the rights of others.
I think that girls playing football is Great. I am girl so of course i think it os a good idea for girls to play football. If they want to get tackled and stuff then that should be their choice. I think if guys don't want girls on there team it is because they are afraid of getting beat by a girl or maybe its because they think there better than girls.
I think that any boy who doesn't believe girls can play football needs to realize that this is the 21st century. People figured out years ago that women and men should have equal rights. That should apply to football as well. Many girls love sports, too. If someone loves to do something, they should be allowed to without others telling them they can't.
Girls on a guys football team would be cool. If I were able to play football then I would. Also it is a cool idea because if they want to play then most people should let them and let them have fun. Also some girls would like to do it because they would like to show some of the guys that a girl can do what a guy can do. That is probably why some of the guys do cheerleading. I mean a guy can do a girl sport to I thought. Also most girls like to show off. They like show how strong that they can be.The only reason I can't play is because I am skinny and my weight. But it would be cool if I could.
Okay, honestly to tell you the truth I could understand a girl playing football at like a younger age, and then playing it for like three years then I could understand them playing football because they have had the experience and they enjoy playing football. But I don't think that girls should just all of a sudden play football in like high school, because I think they would get hurt really easy because they aren't used to that. I think that female football players are nice,. Because it is nice to show that the football players don't necessarily have to be guys. It show that girls don't have to be on the side line cheering for her boyfriend she can be on the field while her boyfriend is on the side line cheering for her. It also shows that girls are not afraid to break nails and actually not have to worry about her mom worrying about her getting hurt out in the real world.
I think it's really cool thats there are girls on the guys football team because it just shows that girls can play football just as good as boys... and that football isn't always just for guys.
I think girls playing football is awesome. It shows that girls can do just as many things as guys can and maybe even better. Many people are very sexist about it, but they don't even know. if ladies got proper training and a chance to play with the guys they could show them what their capable of doing. At first soccer was a boys sport, but now there is girls, boys, and co-ed. I love playing against boys because most of them i know i can beat, and it feels really good to beat them. Plus it gives me a little challenge if their really good.
I think that girls playing football is really cool.. It gives girls a chance to show guys that they can do whatever they set their mind to. Guys normally nag a girls saying that they can't do this and so on. But if more girls played on football teams guys would be able to see that their not any better. See i would really like to play on a baseball team, because I like pitching over hand, not under, I've actually have a pretty hard level arm on me when it comes to pitching. But m afraid that the guys would be jerks to me. I think that making separate girl boy sports teams if kinda dumb because they just make the girls teams not as hard because people think the girls will cry. But who care's girls will get over it. They're tough. I would rather play on a harder team and fail then play on an easy team then succeed.

I don't think it should be a problem if girls want to play football with the boys. The boys and girls should be considered equal. I think some of the boys don't like it only because they wouldn't want to get beat up by a girl. If this is what they really want to do, nobody should stop them! These girls show that if you set your mind to it, you can do anything you want.
Girls Listen if you want to play football and get tackled then do it. just because people say that football is a guys sport dosnt mean that you cant play. most guys think that girls are whimps and cant do some thing that they can do and that bogus...girls can do anything that the guys can do and more power to you if you play...show those guys what us women can do.
I persnonally believe that if there is a sport guys can play, then girls should be allowed to play too. That sounds bad, but I also think the opposite is true. If a girl is going to play football though, I don't think she should get any specila treatment because she is a girl. If she has the guts to go out for the sport then she has the guts to have the same treatment as the guys. If she gets hurt, then she knew it was coming and can't comlain, she just has to suck it up and hack it just like the rest of the guys.
I think that a girl playing football is alright. They have the right to do what they want. If some guys would like to play volleyball I think it's like the same idea. I think that it would be okay for that too. Some girls are okay playing football but I think others shouldn't because they can be very fragile. Some like the idea of playing football but other girls might think that its stupid and they would get hurt to easily or even thinking that playing that sport is too hard.
Well, I think that if a girl wants to play football then its fine. Guys always think girls can't do what guys well I guess those girls showed them. In some ways I can see the boys getting mad because the guys don't get to play girl sports. I am a girl and I really don't think I would be able to play football, so those girls who do play, good job and keep up the good work.
I think it’s awesome that the girls want to play on the football team. The girls can play just as well as the boys. I think the boys that get mad and dislike the girls playing are just scared the girls might take their position and be better than them. It shouldn’t matter what sex you are. Anyone can do anything as long as they set their mind to it.
I think that having girls on a highschool football team is a fantastic thing! Why can't girls be just as good as boys? I believe they can and i think we will be seeing alot more of this in the future. Girls playing football is just like guys playing volleyball or going out for cheerleading. I think it is a bad idea for girls to play football. The chances of them being better than a guy are extremely slim. Guys have always been and will always be bigger, faster , and stronger. Getting a girl to play football just doesn't make sense. If a girl wants to play the parents should do her a favor and buy a doll.

I think that it's the girls choice! If she wants to play rough then she should be able to do so. I personally wouldn't want to, but i know some girls who would. Guys shouldn't make such a big deal out of this. Girls can/could be just as good as a guy is, you just have to give us a chance! For a girl not to be allowed to play just because she's a girl is not fair at all and just not morally right.

I think its a great idea to have female football players as the kicker for the team.... because you don't get takled or anything all you do is kick the football...and there might be girls out there that are really good at kicking the football into the field goal or something so the should be able to show off and be on the guys football team...but if it was for a running back or a lineback or something like that, that would be different....because then they could get takled and get serioulys hurt maybe. So i think its really good to have a girl on a guys football team to be their kicker!! Thats great!!
I think that girls should be aloud to be on the football team. I if girls want to take the risk, then they should be able to join the team. I think that it is dangerous, but it is the girls risk. If the team in our town let girls join it, I bet alot of girls would join.

There is a female football player in one of our middle schools this year. She is the first one that I have ever seen tryout. By rule, if you want to play football, you are automatically put on a team. She was put on a team but never plays. She is on C-team(worst) and on the last string. Knowing how football coaches think, they looked at her and said "she is a girl and girls don't play football. She fragile unlike us men. Football is a MANS sport." That is rediculous. If a girl wants to play football, let her! Let her try it and if she doesn't like it, let her get out.
I think that girls should be allowed to play on guy football teams because they have just as much right to play as guys do. Will they be tackled sometimes, yes. Will they get hurt at times, yes. But if they want to play just let them. It would be the same amount of pain as the guys endure and with all the equipment and padding they use chances of severe damage are slim. Plus playing with both guys and girls makes the game a lot more fun most of the time.
Where i used to play football there was a girl on my team. Every body thinks that girls are bad at football because they don't have the strength that guys do. Yes they don't have the body strength ,but if they believed they could and had heart i would say yes they can play. The girl on my team was one of the best players.

I don't recomend female football players. Football is a rough, high tensioned game that was invented for guys to play. Girls happen to be smaller and not as muscular. Men are here to protect the women and if they're out tackleing them your violating that term. I may be a girly girl my self and play once in a while but i would never let a girl be on a football team!!

I think it's great for women to be playing football. It is an excellent way to exersise women's rights. Me and my friend Desiree play football on a boy's team and we're treated like any guy would be. Plus we're two of the best player's in the county.

You people have NO IDEA how violent the game of football can be. NO...girls can't do the same things boys can. Bigger, faster, stronger and more aggressive. If you've never played, it's impossible to know how brutal the game really is. Players are taught at an early age to PUNISH the ball carrier and hit evrything that moves. Go in the yard and run FULL SPEED into a tree, get up, and ask yourself if you can withstand that kind of punishment everyday in practice. Then GO FOR IT.

My sister played tackle football for two years and has always done the Guy Sports like Karate, Basketball, and BMX. And she is not that bad, now if i were to do any of that i would suck. So i think that it just depends on the girl.

My Friends and I play football with are guy friends but we don't play tackle we play 2-hand tuch. But guys should never play tackle football with girls.
I think it would be okay if the females that played on the teams got treated the exact same treatment as the males. I believe that they can do what guys can do, but get treated like they cant. Its irritating. Same as in the army. We're all fighting against the same enemy, yet, we have different measures for fitness. Its rediculous to me.
Women should be able to play football with the guys. I mean theres a lot of women who would take playing football with the guys over being a cheerleader anyday including me. And yeah we may not size up with the guys physically but we're just as good, sometimes even better.
