What Would You Do with $10?
You're given $10 and an assignment to "pay it forward"; you can't spend it on yourself, and you can't trade it with a friend. And if you're thinking this is a bad deal - that you're not really being given $10 if you've got to pass it on - think about how far it'd go anyway. It's not like you can buy a new game or jacket or pair of shoes with it. And I guess that's the point: It's not much if you spend it on yourself, but how far can you make it go for someone else?

i would give it to charity. The children whom are starving can at-least get a meal out of it! I all ways feel bad when i hear about the children all in other countries, our country, evan my state. Its sad
I would made it to help an poor Indian child .
I would buy food for a hobo from McDonalds or Burger King.Or I would give it to a friend; and if I won the $10,000 I would probably give it to Free The Children who help kids with diseases or work under age just to keep the rest of their family alive. Most are malnourished(lack of food).
I would spend the $10 on a homeless shelter or on a homeless person.
If I was given $10, as a teacher who is currently covering "Culture" with my students, I would hold a competition amongst my classes. The student who researched the "Culture" who would be most in need of money or supplies in a foreign country would win – I would get the county, community, school, families, and myself to match the $10, and by the time all is said and done – a student would be donating over $100 to a needy culture. That's paying it forward.
If I have $10, I can : 1. Save all of it. 2. Save some and spend the rest buying some food or snacks for my family. 3. Donate it to some organization. 4. Give it to poor people. There's lots of other ways to spend $10, just think, Think, THINK!

I guess I would give it to a homeless person so they could get some food or something like that.
If i had the ten dollars to pay it foward i would take the money and divide it into ten one dollar bills. with each then dollar bill i would take it and write a note with each one that says to pay it foward on the actual bill and i would place each dollar in a random place like a church offering or as a tip on a table. when the person picks up the dollar they will see my note and give it to a charity or spend it. No matter what they do with it, it will eventually go to another person and they will pay it foward. This will go on and on for forever!!!!!!!
If I was given $10 to spend it on other people I would spend that money on a meal for a hobo because they are the ones that need help because they have nothing don’t give the money to the school they get money from the state
I would donate it to somebody that needs the money instead of keeping it. I would like to have the money no doubt but it just seems like the right thing to do.
I really don’t know what I would do with a ten dollar bill, I mean it’s not much; you can’t buy something big with it. Maybe a meal or something. But what would be good to do with that ten dollars is to give it to charity or someone who really needs it. And use it for a need and not a want.
Honestly, it wouldn’t be all that hard to make ten dollars go a long way. For example, you could buy a roll of cookies, bake them, and then sell the cookies for profit. Then you would have made, say, twenty dollars or so. With your profits, you could buy some more cookies or another product. You could keep this going for awhile. The bigger your profits, the bigger your next investment could be. With a little patience, ten dollars can grow into a lot.
I think I might donate to poor little kid and they can take and go spend it again or they can save it for buy something in future, because I think this is the best way to pass the money on and on is when you donate the money to someone and hope the person that you donate will happy with your money, then when they happy with your money and then they will pass their $10 to another poor people.
I would buy a meal for someone I see on the street corners with signs that say they are hungry and homeless...

I would go to the store and buy something like snakes and sell them to people around the neighborhood. Then after raising money I would go to the local charity center and give them the money. I would do this because it is not for myself and im not giving it to my friend.
I would give it to a orphanage so maybe a lucky kid there might get some thing nice for a birthday or some thing.

I would give it to a charity for homeless people or a charity for people who dont have insurance to try and keep as many people healthy and off the streets as possible.
I would give the ten dollars to a hurricane relief program so the program could help the people who lived in the disaster areas back on their feet. It could sort off help someone out.

I'd donate the money to St. Judes children's hospital. I feel so bad for those kids and I'd want to do everything I could to help them get better. If every penny counts, then why not donate 1,000 pennies and make 1,000 differences
What I would do with 10 dollars is probably give it to someone who really needs it, like a homeless person.
I could give it to a charity. Then the charity could pass it on to someone who is in need. They could buy like things they really need or put in towards something.
If I had $10 I would give it to the animal shelter. I always want to help them. If I was in a shelter I would want someone to donate for me.

If i was homeless i know that i would want to have a little bit of money to celebrate with.If i could give it to any charity i would probably give it to the poorest charity i could find because they have some money but not much.
well If I had ten dollars. I would give it to a homeless shelter . These people can afford to eat, or do anything else like a lot of people can. These people need help to because it is not always there fault. I feel bad for the people who cant afford stuff.

I would take the $10 to a gas station and give it to the station clerk to apply to an unknowing person's gas purchase. I know that $10 would only buy a couple of gallons of gas for that person, but I think the gesture would brighten someone's day and hopefully inspire them to continue the process.
I would put it into the stock market and let it build up so i would have more money to give to charity.
If I were given $10, I would buy lunch for random students throughout the week. Lunch is $2 at my school so I could buy lunch for one person each day of one week. I would give the lunch lady a note to give the unsuspecting person that said something like "Your lunch has already been paid for by a friend who hopes you have a fabulous day!" This would not necessarily be given to my friends, but to 5 randomly chosen individuals. We all need to spread a little friendliness in this world and this would be a fun way to do it.
I would invest it and try to make more money with it. Once I had what i wanted I would donate it to a charity. It would be hard not to spend it though.
I would give it to animal pounds and charity like that it's not much but it could make a difference for the animals and the people that work there.
I would give it to some cancer charity. Especially if they were focusing on lung cancer that's already gotten to the brain. That's what killed my grandpa. Yeah. That's about it.

What I would do with $10 is give it to the homeless because they could be hungry and they could go to like a cheap place to eat.
I would probably would give it to a good charity or something like that. It could probably go farther than what you would use it for. They need food and clothes and if you got $10 you probably don't need clothes or food so you can really help some one alot.
If I was giving 10$ to someone then I don't think that it would go far because 10$ is much anymore or you could just give it to a hobo so he or she could get something to eat or if they go to the mall they can by a pare of shoes at steve and barry so their feet stay warm.
If I had to "pass it forward." Ten dollars doesn't go very far. So if we're trying to help someone else I'd give ten dollars to a helpless person in another country. Not just any country though, a country where a U.S. dollar is worth more than their money. Then someone in another country would be happy and able to buy what they need.
If I had $10.00 to spend on someone else......
I think that I could make it go far, it just would not go for something big, because you could not really get something big for $10.00.... I would try to spend it on a lot of little things, rather than big things, like a pair of shoes or a game, something that they would enjoy, or even a meal or two like at Mcdonalds or subway.
Ten dollars to people seems like nothing but it can go along ways. Like if you give iit to the homeless they could be starving and when you give them the ten dollars and they could buy food or a blanket.There are a lot of things that tne dollars can do. If I won then I would donate the money to the St. Judes childrens hospital for kids who have cancer. I think that the thousand dollars could help the hospital afford a type of medicine that they might need to save someones life
With ten dollars i guess if i was to pass it on i would give it to someone less fortunate than me.......or like..go purchase food for someone or some organization. I could purchase something someone didn't have that would be useful for them in the long run. I guess..........................
I can go give it to a homeless person. They would be really trilled cuz they think one dollar is a lot.
What would i do with 10$. if i had 10$ then i would give it to charity, Or maybe i would give it to the hunger so that the homeless shelter would have more food. I would love to help people out when they need it most. If some one just came up to me and gave me money i would be useful and spend it on something more important than myself.
I would buy as many bags of rice as I could and donate it to my local soup kitchen.
I would probably give it to a person that is in need like a guy on the street that is in need of help like the people that live in the underground of New York City. They barely have enough food anyways so every little bit would count. Then it would be up to them to use it the best way.
I would give it to a cancer facility because I know that it would go far and my cousin died of cancer when he was five and I know ten dollars isn't a lot of money but I would feel that I did something right. I would hope that it would help somebody else's cousin get defeat cancer and not have to go through what my family went through.
A more unfortunate person would be able to buy the things that they need like a coat, food, or something that they need,.
It depends on what you buy. If someone needs pencils,erasers, ect then you could buy a lot of them and give them to many people. Or even if you just gave it to a shelter or someone in need then it can also go a long way. You don't always have to buy someone something or do something fantastic to make a difference in someone's life and you don't even have to give a lot. So it all depends on what a person needs to know how far it can go.
Well if I had $10 I would want to give it to a animal rescuing facility. It could help out the animals and give them food and water and warmth. I wouldn't want to see an animal get hurt or pass because i've seen that before and I hate it. So I would try to save an animal that is in need of help by using my $10
What I would do with $10? They would be able to buy groceries. Also if there were a person who can't afford cloths they could use $10 dollars to go to the store and get some cloths or a coat. They could use it for gas if they needed gas money.That is what 10 dollars can do to make a person without money extremely happy.
Ten dollars to someone else that doesn't get any money it would be like millions of dollars to them. What I would do with ten dollars is give it to someone that is homeless and starving. I think that would be the best thing to do with it because if they are starving then I could save this persons life. It could even make there life better because then they might be able to get a job that pays good enough to have a normal life again.
I would invite a homeless couple to my house and make them a dinner.
With ten dollars I could go buy some food and give it to a homeless person. I would do this so that they have something to eat besides garbage.
$10 can go a long way to help someone. How I could help someone is to give it to animals(in shelters) or people in need of food,clothes,shoes,health,medicine,exc.
I would buy Dollar Meals from Arby's and serve them to a homeless family.
If I were given $10, I could do a lot for other people with it. There are many unfortunate people that need money for food and with our financial crisis, it would do a lot of good to help other people with their crucial needs. Our country isn't in as much of a need as other countries,however, like Afghanistan or Iraq. Ten dollars over there is a lot more than it is over here. After watching student news today, I realized that the Taliban was still existing. Food is still not as accessible as it should be and I could buy a lot of food for the poor families and elders. I could afford turkey or water for a few families over there with $10. If I had enough money, I would purchase food and clothing for the needy people, not just for the people of my community but for the whole world. It is very important to always think of others first.
If I was given ten dollars to go to a good cause I would give it to someone that needs something. To "Pay it forward" I would spend the ten dollars on a meal for a homeless person. I know that I love food so I think that a homeless person would enjoy and appreciate a nice meal from McDonald's or some restaurant. Although I would try to make the meal that I buy as healthy as possible.
If I had $10 and had to use it to help someone else, I would buy as much food as $10 takes me, and donate it to a charity.
I would put the money toward Heifer International. You can buy small animals for cheap to send to a needy family in another country through Heifer. Another possibility is buying a share of a big animal with $10. That means that you pay a portion of the cost of the animal, and other people who can't afford a whole animal pay the other shares. This is a great way to help people who need it most.
The best thing I can think of to do with the ten dollars is buy 10 double cheese burgers from McDonalds. Then take the burgers to the inner city and past them out to the homeless.
We would:
-donate the money to a third world village so they could buy a chicken or two that would produce eggs over and over again for the village people to use
-give the money to a program that funds starving children in Africa
-give to a charity that helps people that have gone through a natural disaster
-buy food or give the money to an orphanage
-give the money to an organizaton like the UN that created http://www.freerice.com so they can educate more people on hunger around the world
-donate the money to Goodwill or buy as much as you can at Goodwill for 10$ and donate it to a homeless shelter
-give the money to research teams that are creating tools to make straws that purify drinking water so that people have safe fresh water
I would contribute it towards my savings for the Heifer Cow program. It's an institution where you can buy a cow, chicken, or sheep and send it to a family in need in a third-world country. The animal provides food, milk, and a pet. Even though it's only ten dollars, it can be used for the good of the whole world. =)

If I was given $10 dollars and was asked to “pay it forward,” I would probably give it to a charity. The charity I would give it to would probably be related to children who don’t have a lot to help give them food or necessities. Even though the money wouldn’t keep going forward, it would help out many people who have less than I do.
If I was given 10 dollars to do something with to help someone else, I would probably give it to a homeless guy or buy a gift for a friend. Or I would by lunch form some friends. I don’t know what all you can do with ten dollars but whatever you do the thought is always what matters.
I would probably give it to a homeless man that comes by my work a lot. He has a dog that he brings with him and his name is cheeseburger. He is a really nice guy and I feel bad because i see him around walking on the street all the time. I would just hope that he would be able to spend the money, even if it is just a little, on him and his dog to get some food.
With my $10 I could go to Atlanta and find a homeless person. I would look at what they really need (shoes, shirt, etc.) and without them knowing, go to Good Will and buy it. Items there are pretty cheap. I would make sure to get some food too, probably from a dollar menu. I would not limit myself to $10 though. I would use the ten dollars I was goven, but that would not be enough.
I would find a less fortunate child and start a savings account for them. If you set up an account with only $10 dollars in it starting off, by the time they get older and need money for college, or house payments, or whatever, the $10 dollars will have gained interest. Throughout the years they can also deposit whatever spare money they receive to go towards the account.
I would give my money to a cause that would help not just one person, but the worlds' economy as a whole. My $10 would go towards the research for alternative feul sources. One of the leading problems in the world economy is obviously the gas crisis. Even though $10 isn't even a fraction of the money needed, it's at least something. If everyone were as open minded, the world could be much closer to alternative feuls, thus leading to an economic boom to help the economy recover. That's what America and the rest of the world could highly benefit from.
I would give the money to someone less fortunate then I am. I would give them the money so they could buy something they need like food or clothing.
If I had ten dollars I would exchange it for change. Then I would drop the change off a really tall building. The people I would give it to would be chosen randomly so it would be fair. Another option would be to tear the ten dollar bill up and give a piece to other people. Either option would be great for making me a better person.
I would donate it to help a kid from a tiny tribe over in Africa. I think it would feel great to know that I made a difference in a kid’s life.

I’m not sure how I could make ten dollars last or go a long way. I guess I would take the $10 and hold it until the perfect time to lend it someone in need. I would not spend it on anyone or anything until I knew it was the perfect time. You can’t plan things like this I believe it is smart to wait for the perfect moment to help someone in need and lend them the $10.
I'd buy something that would have a good long and useful life, such as a fleece blanket or something, and then give it to someone who looked like they needed it. If I won the $10,000, I'd definitely donate the money to the breast cancer fund, because I know we need the cure for something that is so painful for not only the person afflicted, but also family and friends.
I would write a note with the ten dollars saying "please add one dollar to this and pass it on to another person" the ten dollars would then go around many people adding a dollar from each person. once we have reached an ultimate goal, i would donate that money to the brain cancer fund.
I would donate it to a charitable oraganization like Feed the Children. I know someone in Africa needs it more than someone in the states. It could help save someones life that is dying from AIDS, malaria of other fatal diseases native to Africa. Or it would help provide food for someone that is starving to death.

If I had $10 to pay forward I would send it to a children’s hospital to help pay for a cure for some children’s disease.
If I had ten dollars then I would put it in the bank. That way I would have it when I get older and I would gain interest on it. I already have a bank account so it would just add to it. Then eventually I would invest the money into the stock market.
If I was given $10 I would go to McDonald’s and get a bunch of Chicken’s and double cheeseburgers and give them to the homeless and needy. This would be a way of “paying it forward” because you are spending it on someone who needs it, other than spending it on yourself.
Our class would like to take the $10 and purchase some snacks from a wholesale store and sell the snacks individually during our snack time during school. If we purchase the Snacks (ex. a box of 50 chips) and charge .50 each bag we will double our money. We can continue to do this and donate the profits to a charity like the Ronald McDonald House Charity.

I don’t really know. Ten dollars can’t really buy anything today. I guess you could give it to needy people in another country. Due to the exchange rate it would be worth more there and could actually go towards something. You can’t really help anyone here with ten dollars they need millions to get anywhere.
Well I think you can put it in the bank but don’t give it to a friend to spend something on it like a jacket or a pair of shoes. If you picked it up off the street turn it in to the police so that person can go get back if they lost it. Don’t keep the money if it is not yours. Maybe you could give to people for a charity fund or you can give it to the homeless.

If I were given ten dollars, I would send it to Africa.There are many organizations that are trying to stop diese and help the starving people. The ten dollars that I would give would be more useful to them, than it would be for me.

If I had $10 I would give it to someone who does not have enough money to buy school supplies. I know ten dollars doesn’t go a long way but to a kid who doesn’t have much, it is a lot. People deserve to be educated, why not make it fun?

I would put it on a fishing pole and go around and watch people try to get it and laugh. HAHA
I would spend the $10 on Ramen noodles and hand them out downtown to all the homelss people that I saw. Ramen is pretty inexpensive so I would be able to feed a lot of people. Some how I would have to bring hot water and forks for everyone too.
If I was given 10 dollars to give to anyone or help someone I would go to some type of fast food joint and buy the persons meal behind me so they don't know who it is, but hopefully it encourage them to do the same thing for others so it starts a chain reaction. This would be a great accomplishment.
With ten dollars I could rule the world, it’ll be a shame to give it up…. I would probably change it to a few dozen quarters and then go to chuck e cheese and let the little boys and girls of America play. Maybe if you showed up at the store and they saw that you only had that much amount of money, they’ll give you some stuff for free.
For the next week I would be more aware of the people around me. I would try to find people who seemed like they were in a tough situation and help them out by giving them the money. I would give them the money because I would want them to chose what they want to use if for.
I had to give away ten dollars. I would give it to my mom to have for whatever she wanted. I would also give it to charity. Money given to all people some more than others. Money is the universal item in America that is passed back and forth between people on the world. I have little or no money so ten dollars is a lot of money to me. Charity need a lot of money to help people all over the world to live.
I would give it to the animal shelter because I really really love animals and when I think about how many animals get put into the shelter I get really upset because sometimes there isn't enough food or room for all of them.
Some things we would do with $10:
~We could take the money and give items from our farm to a homeless shelter or women's shelter to use.
~Donate the money to animal shelters.
~Donate the money to veterinarians to help with their costs.
~Give it to a homeless person.
~Give the money to the salvation army.
~We could send it to Wall Street to help with the bailout.
~We could buy a game and donate it to an orphanage.
~Buy clothing for the needy.
~Donate the money to medical research centers.
~Give it to people who can't pay their bills because they are less fortunate.
~Give it to a children's hospital.
~Buy a coat and give it to the Coats for Kids project.

I would give the ten dollars to someone that really needs it like a charity, or a person living on the streets. I wouldn't give it to a friend because they don't need it, and sometimes they would even beg you for the ten dollars. I would give it to charity because they really need it . They want all that they can get. That's why I choose, 'What would you do with ten dollars?'
I would give it to the owner of an animal shelter. They could buy some treats for the animal that don't have a home or any one to give them treats.
If I had 10 dollars I would buy 10 cheese burgers and eat 2 and give the other eight to a homeless person.

Well... we don't really live in a big city, so I can't really do what I was planning. I was going to give it to someone on the street so they could buy what they need most. Like food, or something. Of course, sense they don't have (or maybe never did) money, I would help them choose wisely.
But there's always a hospitaly, or charity I could give it to. Maybe put it in one of the jars to save humans, or cats or something like that that needs the money that's at the store where my mom works (Emerald Isle; BP station).
Or give it to my mom, dad, or my sisters. Maybe even a friend or teacher. But at school, I could give it to the princible, so she can do something for the school with it.
...Making up my mind isn't and never was easy.

What I would do is I would buy school supplies for those who can't afford to even buy clothes. It's really sad that someone would not take the time to even think about how people live in China,Africa,Asia,and all those places.
If i was given $10 i would try to use it on starting a fundraiser or something. Even though $10 isn't much I think it could really help someone in need or a special cause.

Well, 10 dollars is not a lot, but there are many things you could do with it. What I would do to help someone else (or a few people) Is go to a Fast Food resteraunt that has a Dollar Menu. I would get as many things as I could from it, and hand out the food to people with no homes. If they happen to have a home, but not much money, it would be a nice treat to have some resteraunt food.

I'd spend it on Feed my Starving Children. This is a group that packs air-sealed bags and sends them to countries with starving children. In this bag the people put rice, flour , beans, chicken broth, and a few other food items. What would seem like an average meal for us. To theses kids though this is enough to feed them for a couple of month. I consider this to be really important since once we solve starvation other things will be a breeze.
Do teachers accept mony as extra credit? It would be helpful to give the money to a teacher so they could spend it plus who doesn't love extra credit???!!! 🙂

If i was given ten dollars i would give it to a training facility that trains the jobless so they can get jobs of their own, then they earn some money and that reduces the unemployment, which frees up money so then they could give it to the charities all around the world that would help they needy and less fortunate.

There is a homeless shelter in my area. I'd donate the $10 to them. They do so much for the homeless, like loan them money to help them buy apartments, give them shelter until they're back on their feet, and pay for drug addict and alcohol anonymous classes. My school goes their every once in a while to serve food. It would be a perfect place to donate the money to, because they need it so much.

The idea behind the $10 is to use it to execute a random act of kindness so that the person who receives the money or service or goods would then 'pass it on' by initiating another random act of kindess. For me, I'd do what I did just last week. While my van was being detailed, I went and purchased an inspirational CD. I gave it to the clerk at the auto dealer when I returned to pick up my vehicle. She lost two close family members recently; she needed a friend. That CD (which cost $9.99..seriously) was a small token of compassion. She smiled and cried. I'll bet she paid it forward that very same day! $10 won't solve world hunger or poverty, but if you slow down and take a minute to show care and compassion...it might mean the world to the other person.

If I $10 to give away I would take it and use it to raise more money. I could put on a thing that would raise money then just the $10. Then I would go and give all that money I raised with only that $10, give it away to a organization on the Rosebud Indian Reservation called Tree of Life, so they can buy supplies for them to use while they help out the Native Americans. This summer my church went down there to help them out for confermation. They really appreciated all our help and hope we come back next year. They had really need supplies and stuff so that is what I though that giving the money to them would really help them out.

I would donate it to Shriners Hospital a Charity hospital with 80 hospitals around the United States, Mexico and Canada. I had polio when I was in India (I was adopted) and Shriners hospital has made it possible for me to walk. I was paralyzed just in my left leg but with out the help of Shriners hospital I would not be able to walk and have the technology that has helped me be who I am in life. I would also pass on some of my own money plus the 10 dollars someone gave me.
If I was given $10 to not be spent on me, I would invest it in a Roth IRA for my children later on or a family member. In a tough economy like this one it wouldn't always be smart to but it in the stock market. I already give plenty to charity and donations so I wouldn't spend it there. Furthermore, to buy a homeless person food only buys them one meal. I would rather teach them how to get food or make food. To catch a fish for a man feeds him for a day, to teach him how to fish feeds him forever. In Roth IRA's you pay the tax when you put the money in. I think they are very important especially for young people. Over time the return is usually great. Say if a 12 year old kid puts $2,000 into one and $200 for every year until he/she is say 52, he/she will have almost one million dollars when its all said and done. Sounds like a deal to me.

If I had ten dollars, I would go buy some Arby's sandwitches and leave it in the woods so the lonely, starving foxes can eat 🙂
I would probably end up giving it to someone I can find that is less fortunate or donate it to a charity for animals that get neglected everyday.

If I had $10, the thing that I would do with it is put it into my back account. Even though it's only ten dollars every penny counts when it comes to college, and I could really use the extra money to use it on my future. Sorry to all the people tht get affended by my statement but thats life and college is VERY exspensive.
