So Far, So Good?
This Friday, we're bringing you a story about a controversial school boycott designed to bring attention to school funding in part of Chicago. Whether or not you agree with the boycott, we'd like to know how it's going at your school or district: Are there things you'd want to change, or is everything going well for you?

Is it really right to let children do it?
Even though some of their parents don't care about it, the atmosphere there isn't helping them to study,
but since i donno what is happening specificly.. i can't say it's wrong
I am homeschooled so I don't know but I went once
We are pretty okay with our school but we would sure like it better (for educational reasons only) if they would have more computers so that if we need to do research we could pair up and feel comfortable, not cramped together... And we would appreciate it if we would have more rooms so we could do extra homework, and different, more exploratory classes. But meanwhile we are just fine with our education and our school.
When I get older I want to be a contracter so I wish my school would have a wood working class.
Yeah, sure, I guess it's o.k. My education is fine there is nothing to better it.
Our school and district is a very well organized environment. We have great teachers but our lunches are not very good and that is something we could improve. About 75% of the kids in our middle school bring their lunch. The education in our school is very well thought through. Our school, is clean and has a grear sport system!
Glenwood is a great school with good educaters and education program
The education is great in our school system in Thomasville, NC. We have all sorts of subjects. We learn something new every day in a fun way. The teachers make the subjects fun. Plus, we have tons of technology in our classrooms that makes learning fun.
I think what they are doing is really good.if they need more funds they need more funds
The way they did the boycotting is very cool ,but I think Meeks should meet on the subject .I hope the students' get back to their class room
because school is so importent.
i think that it is smart to boycott the school to get more money for the school.
thay have a nuf money to run the school.
I would like our school to have a better budget and more $money$ classes and a better variety. Also a football team.

We also agree with the founding boycott. There are some schools out there that need more then what they need to help teach students their education they need. At our school we have enough money to get our education but we could use more money. We are on the very edge. We have done well over the years but it could be better.

Schools ( espically old ones) get renovations about every decade. They should make a law stating that they should make renovations every half decade. Don't you think.

I think that our my school should have a chill zone for homework for at least one hour, and fix the gym, and have a football team/ football field/ a good one.
I think that my school needs some adjustments, like better restrooms. I think that the classrooms are big enough for the size of classes we have, and I think the teachers do good teaching us everything we need to learn. One thing i think that they should be a little less concerned about is the PDA, i know that we should all keep our hands and other objects to ourself but if we just hug or anything we get in trouble! The dress codes are okay I guess, but I think we should be able to wear tank-tops even if they are onlt 1inch thick. I like all the sports we have here and I think we have good equipment for them as well. We have good electives to pick from as well. Also our core subjects are good to we have math, science, language arts, and history. We have special classes too like P.E, health, spanish, and then we have art, library, music, and computers,. So I think we have a good school and have plenty of educational things to do to keep us ready for the future.
Well, one thing i would change is the schedule, things are crazy sometimes.

Ryan says- Are school is cool but it has a few things I don't like. It should have a better system.
Cassaundra says-We are getting a lot of new rules. They're changing alot of stuff around. I don't really like it that much but it is suposed to help us have a better learning envirment. I wish they could get more fun activites that we can do as a school or class but it wouldn't be just a free day it would be a learning day. I wish we could have more classes offering us a better education to every individel. If every school had the same oppertunities and each student was getting the same eduction it could help alot. I wish all schools could offer the same in education. Some schools have more computers, more classes, more oppertunites. If our school had the same as others we would all have a better education but I'm not saying that we aren't getting a good education because the teachers are doing the best they can. All schools should get the same education. Our school is having alot of changes which is effecting some of the students. It will take a while to get use to but over time the schools should all get the same chances as over schools,

I think the school boycott was a good idea. something like that should be done at my school. it upsets me that we dont have funding for art classes.

HI Carl! I just want to get to my point, keep the puns. The show would barrly be worth watching without them plus, its a great way to end the show even if the puns are corny (which they're not,there hilarious!) so keep up the good work carl and stay "punny!"
I think the people in the boycott have a right to do this! I may be white, but black people have rights nowadays too! So what I'm getting at is, the kids and teachers in Illinois need a better fund! Also our school is doing fine and we have a great school. ( I'm in 5th grade by the way) But I would like the teachers to be a little less cranky! (LOL) But seriously they should be less cranky. And we don't have art this year, although we do art in class, it's still pretty unfair. Bye!
My school is okay-except that I don't our new principle (He cut off the vending machines!)

our school could use some work but mostly its pretty good. we're there all day almost so it would be nice to have a period where we could just go to relax and talk to friends...other than in lunch. our lunches are soooo crowded, if we had more room in the cafeteria or had another area to go to for lunch it would be so much cooler. the boycott could be a good idea, depending on what they needed the funding for...i wouldn't do it at my school but sometimes thats the only option you have is to be stubborn and try to win your point
everything is going fine actually my school was given the title of "middle school of the year" so I'm happy. i support the boycott cause it's the students education and if the school won't fund them correctly and take away from their learning then they have the right to boycott the school

I personally do not think it is the children's isue to bring up. I think the teachers should fight for what they want and not bring the students down with them!
At least the students are boycotting for SCHOOLS and they're still learningwhile they are. If it's for a good reason, I say let them.If it's for something like toys for every classroom, NO.
i don't like it that much beacuse it is not really a smart thing to do because boycotting is ont smartm because i do not like it because it is not smart because my friend doesn't like it becauseni don't think it is smart becauser i don't like it. am i confusing you yet?
yes i do agree. cause if the school needs money than its up to the state to give it to them and i would do everything to get the state to realize that..
they should keep doing what they are doing because it is going to help them get their way of what they need and thats one way to get it.
Our school does a lot of fund raising to raise money on top of the budget they can use. i think that is smarter than just taking more money without using other options!
I think that there is something that every student wants to change in their school. I like mine but I think it needs more after school activities. I would like maybe cheerleading or football. But besides I like the way my school is besides my school depriving sports. It's not that bad!
I think it was a bad idea because I don't think it will work. It could work if they bring a jug and they could try to raise money.

I think that if every school that didn't get enough funding, did this, then that won't be good, but they are proving a point. Schooling should be on the top of the list for government people, without education nobody would have a chance to learn and get smart, or later in life, to earn money.
I like my school just the way it is. My school has changed a lot the past couple years and I think it is about time we stay the same for a while. We have pretty good technology for being a poor school out in the middle of nowhere, and I really like all of my teachers. Although I am a senior so I don't really see my school changing that much more before I graduate, but you never know I may be suprised.
At my school I would like to take out the 1 lap we have to run every day.
I believe that parents should have the say if their kids go to school or not. If your dropout of high school you won't make nearly as much as if you would have if you stayed in school. If you make it to college you will make way more money then you would if you dropped out cause more jobs will accept your knowledge.
hi how are you i would just like to say that drop-outs our not gonna make nearly as much as they would if they stayed in college...if you are a drop-out i will welcome you to my construction agency. but other than that i was just trying to tell everyone that you can do anything if you stick your head to it. if you go to college then you will make way more money then you normally would.
I think that they could stop school dropouts by making school more fun besides sitting watching the teacher work it can get really boring
I think high school drop out’s a bad choice because they may not get a good job in there adult hood and might not be able to support a family. But it might be a good idea because your mom or dad or some family member might need help so you might have to get a job.
I hate it when people drop out. its so stupid. We can prevent it by having the teachers be more fun and exciting. We could have more electives. We could have school start later. then we wouldn't have so many dropouts.
I thought about dropping out, but then I found out that my parents would go to prison. Over all I think dropping out is just stupid.
I don’t know how I would stop them I would probably encourage them to graduate and possibly go to collage so that they could have a better future. That’s what I plan to do. But I geuss it is there choise.
i think that kids in school because they will get better education and they wont end up flipin bugers in Mcdonalds or not even that i think you need a high school diploma 2 do that , u need a high school diploma to drive the garbage truck

I think dropping out of school is useless. I think all kids should get a good education. Because you can’t even get a job at McDonalds without a high school education. And if your aiming for being a pro athlete you have to have brains also. So i hope that no one will drop out again. but we all know someone will.

I have two sides on paying parents to go to school meetings, help kids with homework and all that stuff. For one I think that paying parents is good cause they get involved with there kids. and two I think that it is bad cause some parents only go to the meetings for the money and don't really get involved with there kids.
