I read a story today about a camel pageant in the United Arab Emirates. This event pits competitors hump-to-hump for the title of "most beautiful camel in the world." You know how some horses can go for hundreds of thousands of dollars? Well, a good-looking (and I use that term loosely) camel can set you back several million. No joke: CNN reporter Wilf Dinnick heard about a camel in Saudi Arabia worth $4.5 million, and it didn't come with a free house.
I CAN'T IMAGINE ANYTHING THAT DROOLS BEING WORTH $4.5 MILLION.
In the U.S., it's more about cats and dogs. My sister owns two Siamese, and I don't think they're worth more than five bucks (yes, I will get in trouble for saying that). Dogs, on the other hand, are awesome. How can you put a price on your best friend?
So now that you know where I stand, tell us where you do: cats, dogs...or camels?

For the heck of it, I'd say camels. Just for the laughs.
In reality, I'm a fan of dogs. They're a little more playful, but they can be more loving. I guess it just depends on how you grew up.
Well to begin I dont like dogs at all... well concidering I have never had good luck with them 🙂 but you have to admit camels are a unique type of animal but i dont think i would be 4.5 millions dollars worth of uniqueness....
Why would you want to buy somthing that spits at you four $4.5millon dollers. But the camel is like a horse four people that live Saudi Arbia or by the desart.
People that use camels in their lives in places like Egypt, Libya, and Morrocco to name a few, really don't have a lot of money. If they did, then why wouldn't they buy a jeep or a truck? Realistically a camel should be worth as much as a horse for what it can do. I never really thought of camels as pets, though, they are more of a stock animal. But if they want to have camel beauty pageants, by all means, please do.
I like them all!
That so cool camels! I'm used to Dogs and Cats... Why not have camels. Its not fair to them that they cant be adored like Dogs and cats .
dude. CATS TOTALLY RULE!!!!!! ok, so sure, dogs are good friends, but cats are beautiful, sophisticated, and scream prettiness! and they don't drool, and their breath doesn't smell bad. camels suck, and dogs, like i said before, are ok, i guess, but cats rock!
My case on cats vs dogs. How often do you have to let your dog out to go do their business? Every 2 or 3 hours? How often do you have to change your cat's litter box? Once a week? Can you go on a trip and leave your dog behind? What about your cat? How often to dogs bark? How often to cats meow (spayed or neutered only)? Dogs are a heavy responsibility and require constant attention, while cats can pretty much take care of themselves once you get them trained. I have two cats and since they are either hiding or sleeping it can often seem as if I have no cats, they're so quiet I don't notice them sometimes.
I have 2 dogs and i love them to death. They are 2 puggles and they are only about 2 years old. I would pay anything for them. But still i think that those camels are really high priced.
Well i think people can give too much credit to dogs when cats can be just as a best friend as a dog. I guess it just depends on the type of person you are.
CAMELS!!
Okay, but seriously, I've never really liked dogs too much, at least the big ones; so I go for cats!
