From a Cowboy Monkey to a Surfing Cat

Here's something interesting about Whiplash the Cowboy Monkey (besides the fact that he has the coolest name ever):  He's 21 years old, according to the AP!  And he's been riding for longer than many of you have been alive:  18 years!

Now I remember seeing Whiplash once or twice before, but the surfing cat was easily the coolest piece of new video I've seen in weeks.  Its owner says he's training the four-month-old kitten for international competitions.  SAY WHAT?  How many cats know how to surf?

This is more than interesting to me because I have never seen a cat love water like that kitten. That is insane! At the same time, the monkey is an awesome cowboy...they are really smart and I hope everyone knows that monkey's are better at memory games than people are..since that was a topic previously..your stories are cool, interesting, and fun. I honestly think both the cat and the monkey should get some type of an award; cause it's just that cool!

I think it is really neat because they acually trained it to be a cowboy monkey and it worked!!! The kids in my class thought that was the best one!!! They thought the monkey was funny. They liked the kitten on the surf board too, but they liked the monkey better.

That is way cool. They actually know a 21-year-old cowboy monkey that rides dogs? Whiplash is cool! How can he not be? And a surfing kitty? That is so cute! A 4-month-old kitty surfer and a 21-year-old cowmonkey are so worth CNN Student News.

i think it is really cool having a cat not be scared of water my dog is a great dane and she is scared of taking a bathand if the cat got of it would be easy to pick up but dogs (besides little dogs that dont wiegh alot) are hard to pick up.

This piece was so funny. My 2nd period sociology class watches the student news everyday and we love the information CARL AZUZ provides for us. He puts such great entertainment for news that young kids really dont pay much attention to. So thank you Carl Azuz, we love when you're on the air.

I think it is not a good thing to train animals like humans. We should just leave them in their own natural ways.

This is really cool beacuse thease animals are smart enough to do theese things. Some people cant even do them! Its really amazing to see a monkey but a monkey that can SURF!! What a treat. I would love to see them in person. There are many things going around about animal cruely and such. Mostly for circuses. I dont know if its true but it really could be. I dont want to hurt the animals. They may be fun to watch but whats the price to pay for torture. Then agian they could treat the animals with lots of respect and those protesters could be full of it!

I think if a cat was surfing it would only be able to stay on the board because it would be holding on for dear life.

The cowboy monkey and surfing cat are very cute when performing their unusual acts, do the animals really enjoy that? Especially the cat! That cat didn't look happy to me when he was on the end of that surfboard. Hopefully the animals really do enjoy being a cowboy and surfing, and the owners of the animals aren't just forcing them into these activities.

I go to Oak Point Intermediate School in Eden Prairie,MN. My school was helping people with cancer by sending money to the Leukemia/ Lyphoma society. My class brought in about $800.00 and that's sure a lot of money to donate. Last year we had around $24,000.00 when we were done. Last year we got #1 in Minnesota and the 4th in the nation. Last year as a elementray school we were 1st in the nation. One of our goals was to get this mystery amount of money to cut a staff member's hair/ long pony tail and his name is Mr.Anderson. We got so close to the goal it was around $24,000.00 but Mr.Anderson is letting raise more money this week to see if we can pass his goal then. Also it would be another chance for the people who didn't bring money they could bring the money in this week for our goal to cut Mr.Anderson's hair. I think were around $22,000.00 right now and a lot of people think that the special amount to shave Mr.Anderson's hair is around $24,000.00 and we are pretty close already. On this thing we watch everymorning before CNN Student News there was a tape with Mr.Anderson and his wife talking about cutting Mr. Anderson's hair and the show is called GOOD DAY OAK POINT or for short GDOP. PS, your show gives people a lot of information so i watch it every day at home and at school cause i might not be in class on time. Our top 4 classes won pizza party's which is Mrs. Hanson in Star 6, Mr. Pottinger in Wave 6, Mr.Jospehson in comet 5, and Mrs. Wavinak in Wave 5 which is my teacher's wife. Anyway we did a really great job for Pennies For Patients or PFP I hope we can cut Mr. Anderson's hair it would be fun to watch or cut.
