$6.8 million for a vanity plate?! Are you NUTS?
That's how much one Dubai millionaire paid, and I guess it's not just status if the money goes to charity. But I started to wonder about the stuff we buy to make ourselves seem cooler. Who wouldn't want to get home from school in a new sports car? And think about jeans: They're all essentially cotton denim. Some brands cost $20; some cost $200, and both sell – the pricier ones partly because people just like knowing they're wearing something expensive.
Now maybe the idea of a low-numbered license plate seems bizarre, but you did see people noticing and photographing it. Does stuff like that matter to you? What kind of benefit do you see in showing off something that not everybody else has?

just because you have fancy thing that does not mean thet you are better than anyone. That story has two possibilities 1 your sweet and kind or 2 you cre nothing about charity. I love who I am with or without lots of money.

i Think he is crazy for buying the plate that high i think that if he wanted #5 go to $1 million instead of $6.8 million $2 million is the highest i would go even if i had $1 billion.

Most people think it is so stupid that buy an expensive vanity plate.
but I think if they are expensive or not, the owner will be satisfied that's not a problem anymore......:)
In my country, we showing off the cellular phone, phone number...and even the shoes 😀
as we have these things, we can get some interest and enjoy it...

i believe it is dumb to boast things around like that especially if it doesn't really have an important meaning in the world. People should think about how stupid something is, before they boast about it!

Yeah, I definitely think it's ironic for a license plate to cost THAT much. It's just a piece of metal with a number on it.. whoop-dee-doo.
I think it's absolutley crazy to pay that much for a tag. Maybe the car but not a tag.
yes I agree that that is a lot to pay for a vanity plate, but think about the status symbols for teenagers today. Look around your school and you will see Hollister, AE, Abercrombie, GAP, South Pole, BCBG, DKNY.....all status symbols, I personally do not shop at any of these stores if I don't have to...i wear what I like and say what I like because I figure that most people will either like you for who you are or not and the ones who judge you first you wouldn't want to be friends with anyway. So be true to yourself, not to a brand.
