The kissing controversy in Thursday's show is getting some serious attention. What I'd like to know is where you stand on this and what you think of public displays of affection to begin with. Are you uncomfortable if your friends kiss while you're hanging out? Do you think there should be rules against smooching in public? Pucker up and tell us where you stand...
Carl Azuz, Anchor
I think there should be rules of public affection, but when people are boyfriend and girl friend, they should kiss if they want to outside of the school area. I would be uncomfortable is my friends kissed while we were hanging out.
My Class feels that the consequences were a bit rough, but also the students should have kept that private and not for the public. Such cases are pretty sensative to talk about since it's the matter of a students personal life on school grounds.
I personally dont care when my friends kiss, but i do think when they are in public they should bring it down a notch because everyone is not comfortable with it.
Yes...I think that this couple was a little inappropriate by kissing on the school bus; but I think that the messures that were taken were way too extreme! Being expelled for the rest of an acidemic school year for kissing is CRAZY, and this being put on your record can possibly mess up your chance at getting to go to your dream college...
i think explusion was a bad punishment for just kissing. if it was a different act then it might have been ok. i think there is nothing wrong w/ pda as long as they dnt go to far. i mean a hug or kiss is ok but more then that well get a room its that simple.
Expulsion? Quite ridiculous. Suspension? Acceptable, maybe! PDA is a serious issue in highschools all over the country, I'm sure and I can understand why. Teachers obviously don't like seeing it, they can't kiss thier husbands and wives at work so why should we be able to kiss our boyfriends or girlfriends in front of them? There's a time and a place for kissing and it isn't during school but expelling someone who breaks that rule isn't exactly going to make them want to stop. I think it would make PDA even more compelling than ever before. After all, we ARE teenagers and we DO always think we're right. We're always up for a challenge especially with an authorative figure. With teendom comes stubbourness 🙂
This is rediculous and unacceptable. Schools are getting more and more like prisons these days. It's just young love, most of us did it in High School.
Kissing is totally up to you, but there is a place and time for it. As for these two smoochers school was not the right place. You should go to school to learn not to kiss.
That is so not fair......
At my school, my friend just got suspended for few days.......
But expeld for the rest of the year is way too mean.....
Its not like they are the only ones who kissed......
Plus you never know if the teacher who expeld them kissed too when they ere young....
The punishment is too extreme for an offense such as kissing. When you think about other punishments that qualifiy for expulsion: drugs, bringing weapons, etc. this punishment is absurd. Although he knew they were breaking the rules, it's unfair that getting in trouble for a public display of affection as minor as kissing should go on his permanent record.
I think it was very retarded for the expell the students just for kissing I'm pretty sure a lot students kiss in school and they don't get expelled.
This is very crazy. It shouldn't be this serious. It should be like a week of suspension. It shouldn't be the rest of the year. I think the school board went to serious on the inccident. I think the kid will win the case and be in school before the years over. This is very crazy.
When my friends and I are on the bus, some of us do kiss....It's not uncommon between teens. Though it sometimes is uncomfortable, everyone should accept it. Otherwise, teens will rebel and do it anyway, ONLY to a more extreme extent. So, parents, if you don't want your kids getting in trouble for PDA, then tell others to leave them alone!
We just watched the "kissing episode"... these are the following comments:
A majority of our students believe there is more to the story than just "kissing"...
We saw the words "necking" on the report.
Most kids feel that kissing in front of others is awkward. Even worse, the students do not want to see teachers or other adults (but mostly teachers) kissing in front of them.
Smooching in public needs to have limits... our kids think that a "kiss" and "getting into it" are two different things.
This is very stupid. There is more to the story than your are saying. KIds don't get expelled for fighting or other serious stuff than more kissing. The kid will win in court. I hope he does
There should be rules against kissing in school or on the bus because it is disrespectful to other people and it is not appropriate. Being expelled is too harsh; a more appropriate punishment is being kicked off the bus for a month or getting suspended.
I really think that they shouldn't have gotten expelled, but they could have gotten a punishment. The boy should go to court and win! 🙂
I think that if you kiss on the bus it is okay because it is not on school campus and if the bus wsa still on school campus it is not the right punishment for kissing.
I think that getting expelled is not the correct punishment for this particular situation. Kids at my school kiss all the time and they just get lectured.
they gopt expelled for kissing that is totally bogus, all that is is PDA and the should get In School Suspension or at the most suspended.
This class thinks that the students should have gotten a detention or kicked off the bus. Being expelled means that they will not be in school and not learning. They may not be able to go to college if they want to.
I thimk think this is way to extreme for what they did. I understand that they might have some disciplinary action, but I never thought that they would expell the students. In my school system we would have just gotten ISS.
This is a very serious matter. When did kissing become a crime? The students of Estill High School are demanding that school officials provide prompt attention to this matter and place these students back into the learning environment.
I watched the story about the two kids that got expelled for kissing. Thats really stupid on the schools part.
I think the penalty is way too strict. I could see giving someone a detention for a week, but expulsion is way too harsh for kissing, unless the student has broken the kissing rule in the past.
I think they should give them a warning for kissing because he said didn't know that they would get expelled and people kiss all the time.
i think they should'nt get expelled for kissing the two student should only get suspended for a week or something
On student news, watched the video that the kids got expelled for kissing on the bus.
I think that is a little extreme.I understand that they broke the rules. But taking it that far was uncalled for.
I think that the punishment is way too strict. Maybe just a warning would be appropriate. I could see giving a harsher penalty if the student broke the rule again.
On the other hand, he knew that he was breaking the rules, so he does need to be punished somehow. However, explusion is way too harsh.
Every student in class agreed that the punishment was way too harsh. The punishment needs to fit the crime and expelling a student for a kiss isn't a proportional response. However, we do believe the student should be disciplined because he deliberately broke the rules. Decisions have consequences. A firm warning or maybe a detention would be appropriate for the first offense.
The school should not expelled him for kissing his girl at lease he could got suspended him,but that proplely what that school distict do,that was not a big reason to expell somebody for something like that, and he was on the bus he wasnt even at school,
RAMEN NOODLES RULE!!!! YAY
Today i was watching CNN student news and it was taking about two teenage student getting suspended for kissing on the bus .I feel that wasn't right because he was on the bus and he wasn't in school .I would have seen if that was on school ground making .Then i would have suspended then but not just for kissing on the bus .I hope you be able to go back to school.
I think they shouldnt have been expelled! they went way to far, the could have gave them detention or suspended them for a day or two but expelling them was just wrong!
In my opinion I think that the couple should not got expelled for kissing on the bus. I know that they broke the rules but that is no reason to expelle them, I mean a few days of the bus would of been o.k. I know. I know that my mom would not stood for that.
I think that the school barod went to far on the two that were kissing on the bus. If they were going to school & they was kissing on the bus then I unstand the punishment, but if they were going home then the school barod went to far when they expelled the two students for kissing on the bus.
I think it was stupid, because my family member hugged in school and got detention, i thought that was stupid. I think that is wrong to expelled for kissing in school, i think it is stupid!
I think this was kind of stupid.. because they could have done something else really bad... and plus it's just kissing.. it can't hurt anyone! They should have just got like a detention or something.. not an expolsion! But i guess now people know if they kis son school grounds they will be expelled! Although i think the school should change the rules because it's not that fair...
In my opinion i think that the couple should have not gotin
exspelled from school they . They could have atleast gotin kick off the bus afor a couple of days. Its not the fact that they were kissing on the bus its the fact that every body kiss in the elevanth grade.Their old enough and they
should have the right to do that cause its not loike they are in elementry or midle school their about to gradguat in one year.
i dont think they should have been expelled because PDA isnt that bad!
i think people should have the right to express them selfs like the two kids were doing. i think the school made a big deal over nothing.
i agree with maddie
i think it was pretty stupid.....because they could have done something else that was really bad i mean it was just kissin....its not that big of a deal.... i think they should get a punishment but not that big of one.....i guess people shouldnt kiss at school....i think its not fair because its not hurting anyone but i think they should change the rules...
Hi my name is Tyler and I am a girl. I kissed 5 boys in a week.
Rules against showing affection are just plain out ridiculous. Sometimes it's the only place teens have to show affection to their boyfriend or girlfriend. Yes, there should be limits of what you should do, but those limits should be morals to all people. It's just polite to not make out with you significant other in front of all of your friends. Maybe a quick kiss on the lips. But, not full on making out in front of a ton of people. I guess I can see both sides of opinions. I see people make out all the time at my school and teachers rarely do anything about it. Plus, at high school we are getting ready for the real world and everything we will have to deal with when going out on our own.
Anyhow, getting suspended for kissing at school is not right. It's two students showing affection for each other. Maybe a day in detention if anything. That's still too harsh of a punishment in my eyes. If someone would ahve just said something like, "Hey, you two get to class." or something along that line.
This is just really stupid and should have never happened. There are better things to catch students doing than showing love to someone. That's just my opinion though.
I think it's not right because there's many kids that kiss, and shouldnt be bad if it was on a bus, at least it wasent in school. I see kids kiss everyday in my school, personally I think its a racial thing, but I think they shouldnt went that far, mabey a talk but not expelled!
If you expelled every student who had violated the "no kissing" rule, there would be no students left in any public school.
I don't think that was the whole story. If they were to be exspelled for kissing on a bus, they had to be doing a little bit more.
I think that getting expelled for kissing on the school bus is really stupid. The school is taking it way out of proportion, its just kissing, it may have been kissing each other goodbye but i doubt that was the case. Expelling them for the remaining amount of the year is just stupid.
I think that it is weird when you are hanging out with your friends and they start making out. I dont think that they should outlaw kissing in public but they should have some sort of rules about it. Like on a bus you shouldnt make out cause there are a bunch of kids on that bus and there is a bus driver also. Just do it when you are alone or when there is not a lot of people around.
I think that these two students, shouldn't have been expelled. But i do think that they should have been punished. Showing this muc affection in public, probably isn't the best idea, especially knowing that it was against the rules. Not only that but not having that respect for everyone else around you, they don't need to see what you are doing, do it at home when its jsut the two of you. So kids next time just wait until you get home to do what you guys want to do. It was just a little bit overboard for being exspelled for.
I do think that they should be getting in trouble for kissing on the bus, but it shouldn't be that harsh. OSS for a week or two, a month at most, but getting expeled for the rest of the year? Thats a little much
i think it is stupid, even if its breaking the rules, it is crazy that they want to expell them for the rest of the year, maybe they could be expelled or 2 weeks or something, but a year is just crazy.
i think it is stupid, even if its breaking the rules, it is crazy that they want to expell them for the rest of the year, maybe they could be expelled or 2 weeks or something, but a year is just crazy.
I think that this whole situation was blown way out of proportion. I dont think that kids should be kissing and touching eachother in the hallways, or during class, but if it was on a school bus, that is a little ridiculous to get expelled for. If anything, the punishment should be a detention at the most. If kids are so encouraged to go to school and show up, then why should it be so easy to get expelled?
i think it is all right to be kissing each other long as you are not have sex on a bus. kissing is not a realy big deal, its life. i think it is allright to kiss each other long as it don't go any farther then that.
I think that its ok to a certain extent. It depends were its at and what you are doing at the time. Oviously if someone was kissing during a class that wouldnt be acceptable or even anywhere in the school building.
I think that it is really stupid for being expelled for kissing. They should have got detention or do cleaning the school. I think that the kids should have thought of what they were doing because they knew that they weren't suppose to be kissing. So in a way i dont really feel bad for them.
Dear Mr. Carl Azuz,
I would like to discuss this issue in a very fashionable manner. Our class believes that this "Expulsion in Kissing" is INNAPROPRIATE. The school board is acting horrifically. It may have been a rule breaking crime, but it is unfair to eliminate a childs education just for showing public affection for another student. PDA may be improper but so is taking an education away from another child. Thanks!
Later Gater!
i think the school board is dumber than a bag of hammers for the decision that they made. i think they should let him be
Kissing? That is no reason to be expelled! Sure, it's against the rules but seriously, as a reason to get expelled? If school is supposed to be preparing us for life, why are we put on such a tight rein? One little mistake and you're expelled? I think it is time that school gets real! Are we gonna be treated like adults or convicts?
I don't think that the kissers should have been expelled. Punishment should be given, but I don't think it should have gone as far as expulsion. That say that school is training us for real life and the chances are you're going to get kissed! If you're going to expel them for kissing, how come they don't send you to jail when you're an adult and get caught kissing! In my opinion, the consequences were way too severe!
I think that the guy shouldn't have been expelled from the school district. I think that at the most the guy could have gotten suspended. Kissing is something minor and if it was drugs I could see the student getting expelled but kissing, I mean seriously, people! I hope the guy wins the court trial.
that is mess up
I absoloutely don't like how they treated the two teens evethough that was against the rules they really didn't have to go that far, they could've at least susupended or sent them to Alternative school.
I think expulsion is messed up. Just for kissing! All you have to do is suspend them or put them in detention. Expulsion is a little outrageous, if you think about it. At our school, they give you "tickets" if you are bad.
kissing is a sign of love
I think that is a little to much. What is wrong with kissing someone. It might have been against the rules but why expel him? I think there is more to the story than just that.
If people want to kiss, that's their buisness. If it makes someone uncomfortable they should say something, but expelling the kids is taking it too far.
I don't think that the punishment for kissing on the bus should have been so cruel first they make us go to schol till we are of age of consent and then with something small like kissing takes it away that will just make more people do it because not everybody likes school and they will do stuff like this to get away from it. If they do want to punish them start small with something like after school detention and then go up from there that way they know that it will get worse.
I don't think that they needed to expell the students just because they were kissing. The could have got suspended, but i think expeling them was to far.
Our class took a vote, and everyone unanimously agrees that expelling the students from school for the rest of the year is a harsh punishment. A different, less harsh, form of punishment should have been given. Detention or In School Suspension may have been more appropriate. There's a time and place for everything!
I believe that what the children were doing on the bus doesn't effect anything and that they shouldn't get expelled for what they did your taking away their right to learn and to be thats wrong also they weren't harming anyone so those are my words on this issue.
i think the school board is over reacting about this, all the boy did was kiss a girl that he likes
and he understands that it was wong so let him back to school or he will have to repeat his grade level
I think its ridiculous getting expelled for kissing. i"ve seen people get expelled for doing drugs on campus tagging and most especially getting into fights. but never kissing. i understand that kissing or holding hands on campus is off limits but i think that the school over reacted. i really feel for that boy Goyner and his girlfriend.

i think getting expelled for kissing is a little harsh i think they shoulnt give them such hard dissiplinary action they should just get a warning
I think that thats dumb and they shouldn't have taken it so seriously!!!
I think that being expelled for kissing is highly ridiculous. I mean sure adults aren't trying to see kids kiss but that should ony be in school, not on the bus. Unless the busdriver was breaking his/her neck to see them, it wasn't a distraction to the busdriver or anything. I say public displays of affection are ok as long as you don't go too far with it. There shouldn't be any rules against kissing in public. I have nothing against public displays of affection and as a matter of fact, I'm in favor of it. These kids are in their teens so its only natural.
I think that expulsion was too harsh of a punishment for just kissing on the bus. They should've gotten a looser punishment, like suspension, or detention. Even though it was against school conduct, there was no reason for the teacher to expel them for just kissing. Personally, I think that it was a pretty minor offense against the Code of Conduct of the school.
Expelled for kissing!!! What?
That is SOOOOOO crazy! But in a way they got what they deserved. If i was the head of the school i would have just suspended the couple off the bus for a couple of weeks or maybe even suspend them from school.
I think that they Should have been expelled for it because the other kids might not break the rules anymore
That is crazy that they would be expelled for something like kissing. I belive that the school should stick by their rules and punishments concerning PDA, but never award a punishment that harsh. This is way out of line for something as simple as teenage infatuation.
I think that it is not fair that they are getting expelled for kissing. If he was breaking the rules I could understand that he would get something like a detention or something like that, but not expelled! That is awful! That is very unfair! They need to be let back in school. That is pathetic!
I watched this today in my American History class and I thought it was funny to hear about a 16 year old boy being expelled for kissing his girlfriend. If you want my honest opinon about this..it's totally wack! I am a junior myself just like him but that I happen to see worse than just a kiss. I actually see people basically playing tongue hockey down each others thoarts in my school and they do not do anything about it here. I know in different states comes with different rules but that has gone wayyy too far like he stated. I feel like maybe being suspended for a day would atleast let him know he cannot do that around or on school campus. I believe he should most def. win that case because to me and to him from what he states, "its gone too far." I cannot believe why the school deans, administrators or whoever else is involve to let a bright student (from the pictures shown) to be expelled! I am outraged at the same time because that makes me want to protest against that district with him. However, I think this situation for him and the school needs to get a second look at because how would it be if you were in his shoes? I am pretty sure you french your boyfriend/girlfriend. For everyones' best interest from watching that news cast - DO NOT MAKE OUT ON OR AROUND SCHOOL CAMPUS!
I think that expelling kids for kissing is ridiculous. Kids in my school kiss everyday, in the hallways, buses, ect. I can understand that they want to punish them and keep them from doing thses types of things, give them detention or ISS. Expelling them is going way too far.
I think that being expelled for kissing on the bus is silly. I agree that it is aginst the rules but the disiplinary action taken should have been less harsh. Maybe just a day or two in ISS.
i don't think it is a problem with people kissing and for getting expellled for kissing on the bus is insane no one should ba able to go that far because of a kiss it's not like it was hurting the other person i could understand if it was something worse then just kissing but a kiss is just a kiss
I am not allowed to kiss let alone kiss in public. Other parents discipline their children differently. I think kissing is not wrong you just have to know the limit. Everything has a time and a place. But why is it when adults kiss in public no one says anything about them showing P.D.A.? Go figure
i don’t think it is a problem with people kissing and for getting expellled for kissing on the bus is insane no one should ba able to go that far because of a kiss it’s not like it was hurting the other person i could understand if it was something worse then just kissing but a kiss is just a kiss
We think the expulsion is stupid!!!!!!!!!!! The punishment should fit the crime. Although there should be some punishment, this is way too harsh.
These two young people should have had some sort of a reprimand, but not an expulsion. Even though it is written in the school handbook, why were they expelled?
I think that it is not fair that he should be expelled for kissing. I think that he should just be suspended or get detention for a month. I know now to never do that because i know that i would not want to get expelled for kissing on the bus!
I don't think there is anything wrong with showing public displays of affection. My girlfriend and I show puvblic affection all the time. – Darian Perry
I think it's okay to kiss my girlfriend in the hallway. I believe the young man should be able to return to school. They took it too far.- Quentavious Watts
I believe a more appropriate punishment would be In school suspension. – Deshaun Elder.
I think there is a time and place for everything and school isn't a place to show public affection. – Jasmine Gibbs and Jabari Abdul-Aleem
ok i think that it was wrong for them to expell the students. unless it was totally obserd of what they were doing, but if they were just kissing. yes it's against the rules but the administration should've started off with a warning. UNLESS they really stressed the rule about so kissing. its not like the students were hurting anyone. i say let them back into school
i think that is really stupdit. i think the school shouls do something else then expelled people for kissing.
I have never heard kissing can make you be kicked out of school.
I think that even if they new it was wrong and they did it anyway that the punishment that they were given is a little much. Being expelled for kissing on the school bus is way too big of a punishment. I would understand if it was suspension but expolsion!
I thought it was completely stupid. If the school board is willing to hand out a punishment so severe, i'm suprised that we haven't heard about kids from that school already. I'm glad Dominique is taking it to court because it's completely stupid.
I think that was good
and he should learn a lesson for that.
That was innapropiate
For kissing?!
Honestly I think that that is so dumb.
Just for the fact that everybody shows some kind of affection in public.
I would have just called thier parents, not expell them, I think that is just to far!!
I don't see anything wrong with PDA its natural for everyone, Adoults AND Kids!!
Kids can show love to each other just like adults can!!
And NO I don't think that there should be rules against kissing!!
No I am not uncomfortable with my friends kissing around me.
I think that they should not be expelled because they are not on school campus which means the rules should not apply. People who were kissing who get expelled shouldn't get in more trouble than people who fight in school. Raise the freedom and express your truth. Amen
I don't think they should've gotten expelled. Getting suspended for maybe 2 months is a good enough punishment. They've gone too far.
I think the whole thing is overrated. I understand that rules are rules and that the student should be punised. However, I think that being expelled was a little crazy.
I REALLY DONT THINK HE SHOULD BE EXPELLED FOR KISSING. WHEN YOUR IN SCHOOL YOU ARE THERE TO LEARN. WHEN YOUR ON THE BUS YOU ARE GOING HOME. MY POINT IS WERE I GO TO SCHOOL I SEE STUDENTS KISS EVERYDAY. SO AT HIS SCHOOL WHY DONT THEY JUST EXPELL EVERYBODY BECAUSE EVERYBODY KISSED IN SCHOOL.
Getting expelled for kissing is wrong. I understand that it was against the rules but I don't think they should have been expelled for it. They should let the students come back to school and find some other form of punishment instead since they want to make a example out of them. What they did really isn't that serious anyway I see people at my school kiss all the time and they don't get expelled for it.
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH A LITTLE PUBLIC AFFECTION!!!
i go to school and LMS and some kids at our school kiss and if they get caught they just get written up or something like that! but i think when this guy and girl got expelled was just way to much!
I think that was just wrong! I know that kissing is wrong in school but the punishment that he got was to intense and he sould of just got D-tension or BMC or something like that.
The fact that teens get expelled for kissing is wrong. Just because you kissed someone does not mean you should get expelled. Maybe detention but not expelled. It is just kissing.
I think that they did not deserve such a harsh punishment for their first time. People need to be a little more inconspicious about those kinds of things (especially in front of a camera)!
Well I understand that it wasnt right for them to kiss but they should of gotten expelled for kissing thats not right . They should of given them detention atleasts. I think they went out of line.
I think it is wrong to have him expelled. They are just expressing their true love for each other and I don't see anything wrong with it. I think the administrators should recall how they felt when they were in love with someone.
I think that they shouldn't have gotten such a severe punishment that they got just
for kissing. Maybe they should have been more discreet then they were but they still shouldn't have been expelled.
I don't think there's anything wrong with kissing. It's not only that they gave him the punishment. The district shouldn't have that rule
i believe it was wrong for the two students to get expelled. they could've not taken it that seriously and could've given them detention or something else less extreme.
My school has a strict policy for that but I think the school went to far by expelling them instead of detention or suspension.
i think it was a good idea for them to expell the two students. he said he knew he was breaking the rules so i think it was a great punishment.
i think the punishment was unfair. they could have given the students detention or something else less extreme.
I think that isn’t right. People should be allowed to express themselves anywhere. If my school district was like that then most of the students would be long gone.
I find it disgusting seeing couples making out all most everywhere at school, but expelling students because of that sounds a bit much.
Idc about this if those two love each other enough to go to second base then let them. I dont think that the school's should have control over our love life's. I have seen kids kiss at my school and i dont think anything has happened. Kissing is a beautiful thing and should be aloud on at least buses. Dude, You go get that exspulsion reversed
GO COUGARS...
I don't think that expelling the students was the wright choice. I would've suspended them or given them ISS, but I think expelling them for the rest of the year is going way too far!
I don't think that expelling the students was the wright choice. I would've suspended them for a week or so, or given them ISS, but I think expelling them for the rest of the year is going way too far!
That is way dumb!
I could see someone maybe getting a detention for kissing in school, but expelled?!?
Kissing is innapropriate for school because you are holding up the buses. Please, save the kissing for off campus so the other kids don't keel over.
I think that the school did the right thing and the wrong thing. People shouldn't kiss at school but I also think that people shouldn't be expelled just for kissing. Both things are wrong!
I think that the punishment is way too harsh. They should have given him a warning, but after that he should detention for about a week.On the other hand he knew he was breaking a school rule. Why do something if you know that you are going to get in trouble.
Its okay to kiss as long as you're not doing it in public, where everybody can see you. But being expelled for it? That's just insane. Thats way to extreme for something as small as PDA.
You shouldn't be expelled for kissing! You can have an other punishment besides getting expelled. You can get an after school detention for a few days. Getting expelled for kissing is too much.
i think that they went to far with the kiss ,because its not like they were doing something elligal.
How come that kind of silly school regulations still remain?
I think that the kids should do their personal stuff at home and not at school but it was not hurting anyone or anything.
What's wrong with kissing a school bus?
I don't think that kissing is a crime.A sitation is resonable, but being exspelled is unnecisary and unfair
I think that the school board should punish them because there is a rule that they have to follow; no kissing. But I don't think that they should have gone so far to say that the students are to be expelled. I would be very disturbed to find that I was going to be expelled for something that people in my school would get a lunch detention for.
I dont think kissing in public is wrong, but at my school we have specific rules staiting that you are not alowed to kiss in school. I know that if i ever saw my friends kissing i would feel very uncomforitable. As far as expelling him for the year i think it's a pretty harsh punishment. He should have gotten a detention or something not so severe.
Rules are rules even if they may seem unfair. The student knew he was breaking a rule and so I believe that his punishment was fair.
I don't think the students should have gotten EXPELLED for kissing. Maybe a suspension or something but getting expelled? Kissing is something everybody does! Everyone kisses! And this couple was simply doing something most couples do, and they shouldn't have gotten expelled. I think their expulsion was just overboard.
He shouldn't be expelled for kissing. Its not that big of a deal.
I think you should punish somebody for kissing on school property, but getting Expelled for it is way to harsh. He should get a waring or detention at the most.
I think the punishment for the student was way too harsh. I mean its not like like there's anything wrong with kissing. He may have broken the rules, but there are kids out there that do way worse stuff like get into fights and what not and they don't get expelled. It was really unfair.
I think you shouldnt be expell for kissing, i could see iss or something else but when you expell you miss class work, get behide, or even dont learn anything new
PDA can be very easily mistaken for sexual harassment. If the school administration was unsure of the exact circumstance, they could have very easily decided not to take chances, and in order to make sure that no such thing were repeated, expel the student. Personally, I think expulsion is an abnormally harsh consequence. If I were the school administration, I would have put the student(s) on trial, while suspending them. If the school wants to go to that extremes to punish a student for PDA, then they would have to accept expelling almost half of their student population.
i think that he should have just gotten detention not be expeled i hope he wins:)
I think that they took it too far by expelling him. There are many other punishments that would have done the job and than there would have been no publicity . I think that PDA 's(Public Display of Affection) around others should be toned down and be kept under control. Everyone in not always comfortable with PDA's and they should have respected that. But, to expell someone is an extreme reaction. Everyone is so tense about Sexual Harrasment that it could have been a reflex by the administration. All I know it that this is waaaaay out of hand.
i think that they weren't really doing anything wrong all they were doing was kissing on the bus.i think he shouldn't even get expelled because their in high school so it's not that big of a deal to kiss.
I think that they should not have gotten expelled for kissing but a punishment like suspension would have been more reasonable than getting expelled. They should reconsider this punishment.
I don't believe this is fair because kissing is good not bad.So I despise the rule. But they did break a rule so they should be punished but not expelled.
WOW! EXPELLED! Isn't that a little over dramatic. If you think about it, they are in high school and adults kiss all the time. If it is an age thing, that is stupid, young adults should have that choice. I understand it was breaking the school rules in all, but a little over dramatic, don't you
think!?!
i think the pda rule(public display of affection)is way too dramatic.Though its not ok maybe to go as far as that but at my school people even get in trouble for hugging or holding hands and in fact i think if more people were to show affection then there would be less violence in the world.
I dont think it was a very fare punishment ( being expelled ) just for kissing. I bet everyone that has been in school has at least kissed once or twice. The punishment should have been pretty bad but not quite so severe.
I think that was CRAZY!! I think that they went way to far, I think they should suspend or give him detension but expelled for the year!!!! That was unexpected and unreasonable.
I think that ya they knew that they shouldnt do that...
There should be consequences but they should not be that harsh.
I mean if kids get in fights what happens?????????
A suspension thats all....
But they get caught kissing...
Expelltion.
THEN YOU BETTER GET EVERY OTHER KID KISSING IN HALLWAYS, OR AFTER SCHOOL OR ON SCHOOL GROUNDS (FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL, SOFTBALL, BASEBALL GAMES, WRESTLING MATCHES)
THOSE ARE ON SCHOOL GRUNDS JUST LIKE A BUSS.
May be you should think about that.!.
They arn't the only ones kissing on school grounds.
well i think that makes my point clear
maybe that may strike a conversation.........
I think you should not be expelled for kissing! Give a warning to them and see what happens
I think that even if its kissing i dont think they were suppost to get exspelled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that he should have had just detention he shouldn't be suspended.
When I'm hanging around with my best colleagues, it's sometimes annoying when your best friend is just standing there and too busy to talk to you because he's kissing around with his girlfriend. But expelling someone for showing his girlfriend that he loves her is like taking away human rights or your freedom to live.
Tonio from Hamburg, Germany
for really expelled for kissing??
i mean come on for the whole semester
it would be a bit nicer if they just gived them ISS or OSS
that's it but expelled for just kiss
i think its fine to kiss, its not hurting anyone ,i think thats school is crazy a detention was all that was nedded to be done not expelled, you miss learning and thats always important
i think its fine teachers just want something to do, and when my friends kiss in front of me im like ok its fine its not hurting anyone, to expell the two students who were kissing was taking it way to far i think it should of been a detention and a warning not expelling them and other people who think its nasty get over it u do it to the world is coming to a end someday so live is free without any regrets and if u wanna kiss do it.
some kids their mom and dad wont let them hang out or have a boyfriend or girlfriend and if their in love let em kiss its not killing people and if u dont like it learn to like it and get over it
This is so unfair!!!! they wen't even on school grounds. we watched this in social studies and my teacher even said it was unfair. i think that they should have gotten a suspension and not been expelled. they had better win the court case!
well i thimk that is right and wrong. The reason i think it was right is becasue it was breaking the rules. The reason i think it was wrong is because i dont think they should have got expelled for kissing on the bus, they could have got iss or oss not expelled for the rest of the year cause they need their education to be a good person and have a wonderful life.
Thanks
Kirstin
Ok.... schools have their rules teens should abide by yes. Yet some schools want to make examples out of some students when breaking the rules. Being expelled for kissing is outrageous. The rules on PDA I have always felt to be stupid and unessacary but come on if your going to enforce the rules don't take your anger for the students not following it out on one set of student. Please get some common sense.
I can understand kids getting punished for kissing in school, but i think the punishment was a little too severe. I think the administrators should have just suspended them for a couple of days. Then, the students could have learned from their mistake and not have to miss school.
I think that the punishment was way too harsh. At my school, we are not allowed to kiss (or show PDA), but that usually only gets us a detention. Being expelled for the rest of the year was way wrong, and I think they should reconsider the two students consequences. Teens should listen to the rules, and if they don't obey, tough luck. But the punishment did not fit the crime. I think a simple detention or whatever would have been perfectly fine. Like another person commented saying that there are other school grounds, like football games and in the hallway. People don't get expelled then. I think the school board is really lost their head for that dumb move.
Thanks,

If kids are expelled from school for breaking a school rule that was never took seriously then what can students do? If kids get punished for breaking a stupid rule then wont we break more of them? Most students and some teachers even like to take risks. The question is will they take them. This is a story that both explains and gives an example of unfair rules that cause lots of people distress and trauma over a small situation that was extended by the school system. You can tell a lot about a student from their conduct record. If kids get expelled they might get turned down by a good college and it will rest on the school system's conscience. It seems like they either lost their conscience or never had one. I personally believe that they were born to be unfair people who cheat kids of a good future. Don't get me wrong. Some school officials are good. That is my opinion.
I think it is not ok to exspelled two teenagers kssing on the bus because a lot of students get hurt really bad in their feelings. If I was the prinsiple I would give them one more chance. on the brightside
I think that teens should be aloud to express their feelings if they keep it under control. I would under stand him being outrageous with his amount of kissing and being told to control it then he didnt listen but honestly we choose to make the decission to kiss and we should be aloud if we keep it to a minimum
i think that he should not be expelled they should be able to do what they want!!!!!
I think that public displays of affecton should be banned from schools because some people are uncomfotable with kissing. My point ave you kissing for after school and not in the hallways
no one and I MEAN NO ONE SHOULD EVER GET EXPELLED FOR KISSING ON CAMPUS!! espesically on the school bus!! yes everyone knows that they were doing something that they shouldn't of done but to me its like getting detention for not saying the pledge of allegiance. Ok yeah you are supposed to say it but the consiquences are extreme!!
By the way...i think that rule of no public displays of affection should be abolished in the first place!!
I do not agree with them getting expelled at leaste it was on the bus and not in the school. I see every day at my school a ton of couples kissing and all of eachother, i even see it in the classroom. I guess in the hallway isnt bad but in the classroom? And Our ECON teacher is always bugging us to do this so we decided that we would!! so we want to shout out to our teacher MR MASSEY!!! HEY!!!!!!....

I think that is stupid – Mary
That was unnesessary – Christie
Shay does not like it –
Ali thinks that she should not be expelled.
This is giving Greg a headach and he wants some Tylenol
Mary thinks they should have gotten in-school suspension or have to write an essay.
Ali thinks it should effect their grade in class.
greg wants to use the phone.
i think that kissing in or around school is not a good idea, and kids should be punished for it to an extent. but not to the extent that, that school took it to. the kids should not be expelled for it in my opinion.
if they like each other they should be able to kiss so waht if they kissed in school my friends do it all they time
Kissing at school is really not a big deal. The students just should have been suspended for only a couple of days. They would have learn to do it somewhere else.
to me the students have not been suspended from school because they was just kissing but to me they should have gotten a few days home from school. may be they would learn their lesson to not kiss at school again.
i think that the kids getting kicked out of school for kissing was a little to much of a punishment. i see kids in my school that do that everyday and all they get is warnings they never do anything about it. i think that they should just of gave the kids a warning or ISS for a couple of days.
I think if people have a problem they can look away.
If they were on school grounds that would be different. But on the bus???????? They need to stay out of their buisness
The punishment is a little oversevere. I wouldn't think that just for kissing they would get expelled. Okay maybe detention, or a talk with the parents, but not being expelled. I think its too extreme.
There is kissing in every school in the united states. I they are going to expell those kids then they should do the same to everyone else. By the end of the year there wont be anyone in school becasue they would all be expelled. I think that if your going to do something then put then in detention, not expell them THATS JUST CRAZY!!!!!
This expulsion is really dumb. Since when do people have the right to say, 'You broke a rule so you are expelled,'? The boy should go to court. He has my support on this one! I mean, a punishment is needed, not an over exaggeration! This story is frustrating. If you expelled every kid who kissed in school, you may have 3 students left in each school. Put them in detention, BMC, or ISS! Don't expel them! This is ridiculous, people! And I thought the teddy bear named Muhammad arrest was ridiculous.....
Expelled?? For KISSING?? Not fair at all. If people want to kiss then we should let them kiss. Ofcouse there has to be rules and restrictions like not kissing during class but on the bus or in the halls should be just fine. I think it totally healthy to kiss and scientists say it helps releive some stress that may come from school. Nobody should be expelled for this. But they did break a school rule and thats wrong. They should get a punnishment but not EXPELLED! Maybe a suspention at most. A detention would probably handle this problem. But this school went way to far. PDA is normal and so many teens do it. Teens are going to kiss their boyfriends or girlfriends no matter what the rules are. Rules wont stop them. So what are you going to do expell everyone? Whats next hugging, holding hands, high fiveing people or even getting a foot next to somebody. This isnt fair.
I think getting expelled for kissing is totally wrong. Instead of getting expelled I think they sould of gotten a detention of maybe just let it slide.
I think they should be able to kiss at school
i think it doesnt really matter i think they should be able to kiss && that is so stupid being expelled the whole school year
i think it's ok to a certain extant. nio school, a hug or kiss on the cheek is fine. but making out? nah. and in public? what are the chances of the people walking by seeing you again?
really now, they got expelled? i've never gotten caught kissing. but if i ever do it would be totally redonkilous if they expelled me, especially considering that everyone kisses at school. i dont mind if my friends make out while im right there, it wouldt bother me, because i do it in front of my friends. its really gay how they got expelled. thats really not fair... WHOEVER expelled them needs to get a new hobby.. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
i've never been caught making out with my girlfriend, but if i did, i wouldnt expect them to expell me. ive made out with a girl on the bus, but didnt even get wrote up for it, so honestly thats not even fair. i agree with chelsea... GRRRR U PEOPLE!!!!
okay, thats a little rediculous dont you think! kissing you can do anywhere why not at school it aint like there havin sex
