We'd like to get your feedback on how a teacher positively impacted your life. For instance, Mrs. Long and Mrs. Kling saw the writer in me and helped develop the skill, and Mr. Kirkland was as entertaining as he was informative about life science.

Overcoming Bullying

We've heard a lot from our audience about the issue of bullying, and Thursday's show brings you a story about a girl who overcame it. She discusses the "inner power" she found when she got to high school, and this led to an effort that improved her life and the lives of others whom she inspired.

Drunk Driving: Getting the Word Out

Sentimental Value

The soccer ball had floated 3,000 miles across the Pacific to Alaska's Middleton Island, where a radar station technician found it. The words written on the ball led to a 16-year-old in Japan who said he'd lost everything in the tsunami that struck his town last year. He was happy to hear his ball would be returned to him.

This got our staff talking about the things we own that have sentimental value: a book, a piece of jewelry, an old coat, a letter from a first love. We're wondering what has sentimental value for you.

All Booked Up

Believe it or not, I liked The Great Gatsby so much that I read it several times AFTER I graduated from high school. Everything from the way it was written to the era itself struck a chord with me. I also thought several of Graham Greene's novels were excellent, and the biography I'm reading now - Unbroken – is every bit as good as it is gut-wrenching.

In the spirit of National Library week, we're asking what your favorite book is - and what it is about that book that made it unforgettable.

The Miami Marlins suspended Manager Ozzie Guillen for five games after his controversial comments about former Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. A college law professor says Guillen was within his rights to say what he did. "The problem," says the professor, "is he's in Miami." Watch our Wednesday program to understand why Miami's Cuban community is particularly sensitive about Castro.

The anger caused by Guillen's words seems to be about where he made his comments, just as much as what those comments were. It raises the question, just because you CAN say something, SHOULD you?

Dilemma in Augusta

The Augusta National Golf Club opened in 1932. Since that time, its membership has been for men only, and because it's a private club, it is not required to change that.

It's facing an interesting dilemma, though. One of the companies that sponsors the Masters Tournament guarantees membership for company officers. And the leader of that company is a woman.

The ultimate decision about whether to offer her membership - and essentially change club rules - is ultimately up to the club itself. What do you think it should do?

Does Making Cents Make Sense?

Canada's government has decided to stop making pennies. People can still use them, but the country won't be minting any new ones. Part of the reason: They cost more to make than they're actually worth.

Could this make life easier for many Canadians? Yes. Could this lead to rounding up and possibly higher prices? Yes.

But it got us all wondering whether you think the penny should stick around where you live. Penny for your thoughts?

Florida Shooting: Your Questions
