In Monday's show, we're telling you what happened concerning the pro golfer.  We're curious:  Do you think this will impact his career?  How about the sport of golf in general?

I think this will drop all his sponers like Nike and EA. Many people looked up to him and now they probably don't like him.

I think that what Tiger Woods did is going to severely impact his life in general. There's no way that his career will not be impacted. People are going to look at him differently from now on. I do not think that Tiger's actions are going to affect golf. None of what happened really involved the sport.

I belive that the news should just leave the poor guy alone, drop the subject and move on to more important things.

Of course it will impact his career! Nobody's going to be a fan of Tiger Woods anymore because of what he did. Its obvious that if you break the law like that, people are going to think of you as a disobedient liar and won't support you anymore.

It may impact his career it all depends on him really ! It's really hard to tell about the sports golf in general it can it can not it's really hard to tell like I said it really all depends on him!!

honestly speaking, i do feel quite shocked when hear Thger Woods' unexpected incident. because he damages the perfect image he has kept for so long. whatever, he does appologize for his infidelity and pledge to never let it happen again. so, just give him a chance and see what happens.

I think Tiger Woods will have some damages to his career, but I don't think that it will do that much harm, because other news could be bigger than this thing and if he "lives" quietly, his deeds could be forgotten. But it will make much impact on the sports of golf.

I think this will have a major impact on his career. His ultimate goal is to win 18 major and break the alltime record for wins held by Byron Nelson. He will be missing a major portion of the year and he will miss a chance to win tournaments. The sport of golf will miss this iconic figure who draws in millions to watch Tiger. Golf will miss Tiger, but he needs to make up for his wrongdoings!

I think that what Tiger Woods did, don't get me wrong, was definately wrong, but people are blowing this up. For example, say billy bob cheated on his wife with other girls and he got caught would billy bob be all over the news lines and tv and the papers. No. What people don't get is that people cheat all the time. And just because Tiger Woods cheats doesn't mean he has to be all over the news and stuff. I am not sticking up for him. If you are a cheater you are a cheater but he doesnt need to be put all over the news just because he did.

I think that the new revelations about Tiger Woods will hurt his career, and the sport of golf in general.

i think that what tiger woods did will definetly impact his career and the sport of golf because it is all over the news AND he is banned from golf for sometime already. since it has already impacted him, it will probably impact golf in general.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:17 am |
  13. Gayathri

I think it will impact his career beacause he won't be getting the amount of money he used to get because now he is hurt and he doesn't want to golf for a while. Since he won't play golf for a while i think golf will not be a popular golf anymore.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:18 am |
  14. Sheryl

Well, since Tiger woods is going through all these problems, i think it will impact his career because everyone used to love his amazing ability and career, but now what he has done has ruined everything! Golf just used to be a sport until Tiger came. Now he has ruined eveything and i agree with him that he should go and work it out with his family!

  15. Cindy

It is true that golf wasn't as exciting as it used to be until Tiger came along. It is also true that he is a good player. But what he is doing can and will affect HIS career because of all the bad publicity but it will not affect the sport golf that much because there are other golf stars out there that can replace him.

I think that what Tiger Woods did will effect his career, his life, and the sport of golf in general.

I think this will effect tiger woods' career because he probably feels awful about what he did and it will effect his progress. Also his children probably are upset with him so he must feel really bad.

  18. Allyson

I think that Tiger Wood's career will be impacted. I think that because he isn't going to be on th corse, for a while therefore, he might not be as good as a golfer. I do think the sport of golf in general will be impacted beacuse he was young and not white when he started, and he was so good at golf. Other people looked up to him, and gave golf a try.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:20 am |

I think all that has been happening to Tiger Woods will hurt him very much in his career and the sport of golf in general.

  20. Rachel

I do think that it wil impact his career because he was supposed to be a role moal for kids. Now, parents do not want their kids to have a role modal that cheats on their wife.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:21 am |
  21. Raveena

I think it will affect his career because he will be judged by his one mistake.

  22. Anonymous

I don't think it will effect his career because he is the whole meaning for golf. Without Tiger Woods, golf will become less popular, so when he returns, golf will get popular again. I think golf is a slow sport, so I think it is a dull sport.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:22 am |
  23. Andrew

I think it will impact his career because he won't be playing for a while and he won't be as good in golf like in other years.

    I think it will

I think it will impact on his career because he did something wrong like cheating on his wife I also think it will hurt golf in general too, and some people look up to him as a role model.

I think the revelations about ti ger woods will hurt his career and the sport of golf. because of what tiger did less people want to watch him. and because he is taking a break from golfing more and more people will stop wqatching golf channles.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:23 am |
  28. Anthony

I have a feeling his many problems will cause his carrer to shorten, or end. Tiger won't be able to fix this, no matter what. He was a fresh breath of air for a sport getting old. Then now, he has to leave. I think golf viewing will drop 50%.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:24 am |
  29. Joshua

I think that because of Tiger Woods nonsense his career will definitely be impacted. I think that he made the right decision to take a little while away from golf. The sport of golf in general will be impacted because a lot of people just watch golf because of Tiger. The sport of golf will be impacted.

I think it might hurt his career, but not that much and the sport of golf in geniril

I think that Tiger Woods is in danger. He is the one of the best atletes in the world. When he is away from golf it effects the entire sport. He was siligned by an injury. He is taking a break from golf after admitting that he cheated on his wife. This is why I think that Tiger Woods is in danger.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:25 am |
  32. colin

I think that he messed up his whole carrer in golfing. All of his sposerers are pulling out. The viewing decreased by 30% . Tiger made the sport of golf better because he was not white and he made golf alot better, and now he ruined how golf is now. Golf with change in general.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:25 am |
  33. matt

I think that it is going to effect his golfing career and effect his life.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:26 am |
  34. Kate

I think that what Tiger Woods did will impact both, his career and the sport of golf in general because Woods is taking an "indefinent break" from golf to become a "better husband, father, and person" and this might cause trouble with his sponsers. Also, golf will be affected because Woods was a great golf player.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:26 am |
  35. Audrey

I think Tiger Wood's 'break' from golf will lower it's popularity, but it will also give other golfers a chance to shine.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:26 am |
  36. Mike

i think it will mess up his golfing and it will mess up golfing over all because he was really the only person who made it big because of his endorsments and games and everything he has and thats what made it big and other people and golf famous

    December 14, 2009 at 10:27 am |
  37. Melodie

I think that it will impact his career because Tiger Woods is a great golf player and nobody should stop him from playing golf. Also it will hurt golf in general because Tiger Woods is a great golf player and people are ddepending on him.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:27 am |
  38. Melby

I think the new news on Tiger Woods will ruin his career. Tiger will lose his fame and fans. Tiger Woods is an idol to many but that can all go down with his destructing news. I really think his career will drop. This is a fact.

    December 14, 2009 at 10:29 am |
  42. Tyler

Well I highly doubt it will affect his career but in public it will be a totally different story. In golf i don't think it will affect it at all but it might make people think that golf might be a stupid sport since what tiger did.

I think it'll be great for Tiger Woods and his family, but Pro Golf has some tough times ahead of them.

Tiger is entitled to do whatever he needs to.........I have watched and been entertained by him and he has brought golf closer to my sons and our family is stronger because of that. I would help Tiger in any way possible and if that means simply to leave him some privacy so be it.

Tiger Wood need to slow down on driveing and stay playing golf that what he does the best is playing golf he is the best golfer.

    December 14, 2009 at 1:12 pm |
  48. William

The fact that he cheated on his wife will impact the sport now, but not in the long term. Once Tiger Woods is out of everyones mind, a new star will come along and he will be the focus of everyones skeptical eye. As for Tiger himself, he probably cracked under stress.

    December 14, 2009 at 1:13 pm |
  49. hannah

yes it would effect his career because golfing is important to him i guess cause he plays it more than he hangs with his kids and wife
thats what i say and its true

i think that the news shouldn't make a big deal about tiger woods having an affair. i mean, he is just another humanbeing.

    December 14, 2009 at 1:14 pm |
  51. Amanda =:^)

I think that Tiger Wood's career will definitley be impacted, because he cheated on his wife and because he is going to quit golfing. The game of golf itself will be impacted badly, but not as bad as his reputation and/or career. A lot of people looked up to him before, but after he did what he did, he has gotten a lot less fan publicity, like maybe they will stop going to his games when he gets back, and so on

    December 14, 2009 at 1:15 pm |
  52. Shaneighneigh

I think that Tiger Woods deserves all the ramifications that he is getting. If I were his wife (I wish), then I would most definitely be mad at him and ask for a divorce. Tigers career is not at risk, but he most likey will lose a whole ton of his fans. I am very disappointed in him and now golf is losing its great reputation.

    December 14, 2009 at 1:16 pm |
  53. zabirna

i think it will impact Tiger's career. Plus many people look up to tiger.

    December 14, 2009 at 1:16 pm |
  54. NBHS

It already has effected his personal life. The media and the Golf industry will take a big hit as it has already as the ratings have gone down 50%. Tiger has a lot of redemption to make up with his family.

    December 14, 2009 at 1:24 pm |
  55. W1LL

Of course it will. He is the best golfer, most famouse and so eny thing that effects his career will affect the sport. and if it effects him in any wat it will indfetly efect his career.

i really don't care about his personal life an i think every one should just leave him alone an stay out his business.

    December 14, 2009 at 2:01 pm |
  60. Nae

Tiger Woods had everything good going for him, and he thought that he could sneak around and think no one would find out about his double life, what has happened is his own fault. NO ONE ELSE'S. If he was able to lie, cheat, and disgrace his himself, and his family than he is able to take to consequences coming to him. I don't think anyone should have sympathy for him at all. Of course he won't be doing as good as he was living a double life, and lies, but now that his story's out, he will be struggling and that was his choice. No one can help him now, he is a normal person just like me, and he needs to learn how to live in reality.

    December 14, 2009 at 2:03 pm |
  61. Devyn

I think it will impact his career because less people are going to respect him. Also, some of the big sponsors he has, like nike, might not want to sponsor him anymore. It will affect golf because the sport just wont be the same if he doesnt return to golfing

    December 14, 2009 at 2:08 pm |
  62. Rachel

I think it will impact his actual golfing career because he won't have all the support he's always had from family and fans. His confidence will decrease and he won't play as well. The entire reputation of golf has been ruined because people think of it as a calm, All American sport. Tiger Woods has obviously changed that opinion.

    December 14, 2009 at 2:56 pm |
  63. Steve

I think that it should only affect his relationship with his wife, not his professional career. Also people may stop watching Tiger Woods, but they won't play golf any differently.

    December 14, 2009 at 3:10 pm |
  64. Radell

yes i think it would impact his career. Everyone needs someone to cheer them on and give them courage. For tiger woods that is his wife and since she cheated on her he is all alone. 😛

    December 14, 2009 at 4:34 pm |
  65. Tyler

I think since he a great player and also he has a lot of fans that the sells of posters and golfs items genarel. Ialso think this might afect his career by him not playing for a while and he might not be as good as when he woluld of if he did not stop. Im sure since there many golfers that alot of items will be sold still.

    December 14, 2009 at 4:34 pm |
  66. Young-jin

I think this will impact his carreer greatly. He even admitted he cheated with his wife which will definatly not be good publicly for him. I don't know about the sport of golf in general.

    December 14, 2009 at 4:38 pm |
  67. alyia

I think this could affect his career for a little wile because he is not playing intil when ever.

    December 14, 2009 at 4:41 pm |
  68. Alyce

... Tiger should take a while off pro golf to try and work things out yes he did hurt his family and he should try his best to stay in it and hope his wife does NOT divorce him!!!!

    December 14, 2009 at 5:17 pm |
  69. mathew

I think it will just impact his career.

    December 14, 2009 at 5:29 pm |
  70. Sydney

I think this incident will create a huge impact on his golfing career. This would be because some sponsors won't want to advertise someone who cheated on his wife to sell their products. That wouldn't help business at all. This might cause the viewing audience to lessen even if Tiger Woods does continue golfing. I don't think people want him to be their role model anymore.

    December 14, 2009 at 5:32 pm |
  71. sebela

I think this will definitely effect both tiger woods and the golf world. Golf will unfortunately suffer because of his bad choices

    December 14, 2009 at 5:32 pm |
  72. richard

yes cause he has love for the game and i know hes going to miss it a lot

    December 14, 2009 at 5:33 pm |
  73. michelle

i think everyone should leave him alone and i think that his private life should be between him and his wife.

    December 14, 2009 at 5:33 pm |
  74. Maurice

Yeah, of course and for golf in general, I can't name another golfer. I actually watched golf a couple of times and he's the only one that caught my eye. So in my opinion golf is done for.

    December 14, 2009 at 5:37 pm |
  75. CARTER

Tiger Woods can be a better husband by helping his wife.

    December 14, 2009 at 5:44 pm |
  76. Marco

I think Tiger Woods is a bad role model to some of his fans.He should take a break from golf to catch up with his wife and kids. The kids are the ones feeling the pain with his actions.

    December 14, 2009 at 5:48 pm |
  77. Bob

I think what Tiger is doing is wrong and it's going to affect his carrier

WE THINK THAT TIGER WOODS DID A REALLY BAD THING TO HIS WIFE AND KIDS BUT WE ALSO THINK THAT EVERYBODY DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE

  79. angelica,luis,and michelle

TIGER WOODS iS ALL WRONG!!HE NEEDS TO BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT HE HAS!!AND RESPECT HIS FAMILY!!

    December 14, 2009 at 5:53 pm |
  80. Bonnie

Yes, i do think it will impact his career because what are people gonna think of him after all this is over. People are gonna think babdly of him. Well, i think golf will stay the same beacuse it wasnt golf that caused all this drama.

    December 14, 2009 at 5:54 pm |
  81. Gillian

Yes. It was unfair to his wife and children for what he did. Many of his fans may not like him anymore and think he was not a very good rolemodel. It will definatly affect him, his family, his fans, other golfers and his career.

    December 14, 2009 at 5:55 pm |
  82. bill

i think tiger woods should think of what he did becausehe has a wife and a kid so he shouldn't have cheated om he an try to ruin their lives

    December 14, 2009 at 5:56 pm |
  83. eduardo

Tiger is a regular guy like everyone.
    He deserves a second chance.
People need to leave him alone and leave his problems to him.

    December 14, 2009 at 5:56 pm |
  84. Chris

i think cheating is the bad thing to do because then your wife wil never trust in and your fans

    December 14, 2009 at 5:57 pm |
  85. Maddie

yes i think what has happened will most certainly impact Tigers career. what he did was not smart. he hurt his carrer, but most of all he hurt his wife and children. if he wants to ever golf again, he will have to gain his confidence and trust back from his fans, crew, and family.

    December 14, 2009 at 5:59 pm |
  86. no

wow.i cant belive that tiger woods would do that ! her is my hero!!!!!!!!! i loved him. he was so cool.

    December 14, 2009 at 6:06 pm |
  87. Gillian

Yes. I think Tiger feels bad but he has to get back his trust from the American public, and his family. What he did was very wrong and it will maybe take a while for him to get that trust back but eventually he may be able to get a little of it back. Yes it will definatly affect his life and career. Most of all it will affect his fans and family. His fans may not want to root for him because he wasn't a good rolemodel and his wife and children are most likely very mad, shocked and sad about what happened between him and his wife.

    December 14, 2009 at 6:07 pm |
  88. Joey

I think that Tiger is making a great decision by taking a break. This will be bad for the T.V. ratings but as a father it is a great decision.

    December 14, 2009 at 6:30 pm |
  89. Hannah

I think this WILL impact Woods career because now people will veiw him as a failure because of what he has done. This has created a huge "withdrawl" in fans and golf watchers in general because he can't keep his mind straight.

    December 14, 2009 at 7:41 pm |
  90. Helen

Tiger Woods is making the right decision. He is doing the best he can. I respect him and forgive him.

    December 14, 2009 at 7:53 pm |
  91. Draven

I think its good that he is stepping down to concentrate on his family, but when he gets back into golf, it may put his career at stake

    December 14, 2009 at 8:22 pm |
  92. Daniel

i don't really think that he made a good decision because now some people will think of him as like a failure

    December 14, 2009 at 8:44 pm |
  93. Daniel

who cares just leave him alone so that he can do his own thing

    December 14, 2009 at 8:46 pm |
  94. Sariah

i think Woods's carer is totally in Jeopardy!!! and to be honest i really don't like Golf that much....but for all the fans i don't think Tiger is going to be thought of in a WHOLE new way! In some sort of pity i think he brought this upon himself....

    December 14, 2009 at 9:14 pm |
  95. Maggie

I think that Tiger made a great decision, when something happens, you want to take a step back from it all, wouldn't you?

    December 14, 2009 at 9:20 pm |
  96. Haley

On some levels, this is a problem. I think Tiger Woods is getting a lot of private, personal information out in public view...Some stuff that the tabloids might be exaggerating. However, Tiger Woods is a professional golfer and none of this really has to do with the sport. So why would it affect it? Well, once Tiger decided to be a professional person who is a sort of "celebrity", he put other companies' names with his. So, I guess this kind of affects the companies he represents with all the bad press. On a more personal level, I think that what he did affects his career on emotional levels and it may affect how his sponsors view him...They don't want a single mar on their pristine surfaces. Basically, Tiger Woods doesn't have that perfect record anymore, at least in the eyes of his fans, wife, the public, and possibly those he worked with (his sponsors and such). In general though, why would Tiger Woods no longer playing golf affect golf? It would still be a great sport...Even if Tiger Woods was a common household name...

He made a mistake, and i'm glad to see that he's taking responsibility for it. There aren't very many stars nowadays who do that. Woods is a true role model. Even if he did screw up.

I think this whole thing about tiger on cnn student news is a waste of space or time on cnn student news. Everybody already knows about tiger woods and we don't need to be reminded about him on cnn student news. This is a waste of time on cnn student news. If you want to know more about tiger woods watch the news for once. Everyone knows what he did was wrong. Kids don't want to know about some guy cheating on his wife we want to know whats going on in our world and what we can do to make our world better and stuff like that.

  99. Billy

I would not be counting on the fact that Tiger woods and his career will ever be the same again. This most likely will be a life changing event for him! No matter how good he gets after this, he will always be remembered for this faliure.

When my teacher played CNN student news for my world geography class we weren't able to watch the whole thing because only about the first five minutes of it was important. It was a good beginning.Important, useful, and educational. And than it started to become useless. I mean whats important about Tiger Woods having an affair? Nothing. Nothing at all. What use is it to show a whole bunch of teens trying to get an education, how a grown man had an affair with his wife.

I'm not one to care much for the sport of golf, if i did care for golf, it would only be if I were the one playing.

Your ruining your career. Just stay with your wife you married her! You should just try to make up your mistake and go home to your real family.

  104. Shiraz

I do think it will impact his career because he cheeted on his wife. it will hurt golfin general because some people think of him as a role model.

    December 15, 2009 at 10:18 am |
  105. Nicole

I think that golf would not ruin his life the thing that would ruin his life is his wife and kids not getting well with him and he is setting a bad example for his kids. I think this will impact his carrer because now people think of him as a failure because of what he did.

    December 15, 2009 at 10:20 am |
  106. Abby

I think that this will impact his life in golfing because when he had the fight with his wife it really showed to people who he really is in the inside a cheat! I think it will not hurt golfing at all because he is not a god or anything he is just a a regular person like everybody else. It will not hurt golfing, it will just hurt his life and his relationship with his wife.

    December 15, 2009 at 10:21 am |
  107. Michelle

I think that golf will not be veiwed by many people now that tiger is taikng a break. last year when he took a break because of an injury the veiws of golf greatly decreased.now the veiws will probably decrease even more because he isnt playing and people might think what he did is wrong so that they dont want to watch him anymore.

I absolutely think that it will impact his career.
Tiger Woods didn't behave well, so the sponsors won't like him anymore. And, I also think that he will stop golf at least for a while.
I don't think he will have the guts to go out on another golf championships or something and take the prize!

I am sooo soooo soooo disapointed in you Mr. Azuz. Mostly becuase that CNN decided to talk about Tiger Woods, if the people wanted to know about TIger Woods; they would of gone to The "E Celeberty News". He is a golfer, not somebody that is going to change America. You should of decided to talk about the health care bill, or the poor econemy or job losses. But nooooooo. You wanted to talk about Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods isnt even news worthy. Id rather want to know something more important.

This will for surely impact hios career. He did what he did, and it's his fault. I guess that it's good to be taking off and indefinate amount of days to show his family that he can be a better father and husband, but still, the sport of professional golf will probably never be the same.

Yes i think this will impact his career, but i think it should only hurt or impact his relationship. Also people might think of Tiger as a bad person, but people will still like him because he is a good althlete. And golfers won't play golf any differnt because of the Tiger Woods impact.

in mondays show you were talking about tiger woods and as i was lisening iwas thinking that i dont think that his carer sould be let down so he did some stuff about his relationship but he is one of the best golfers in the world so why would he want to let his cerer go but he still sould face the consaqwenses. And he did get in to a car crash so give him a break

no, i don't think that it wiil affect the way that people will play golf in the fueture. but i do think that it might affect his career because his fans might not like or want to whach or be a fan of him anymore because of what he has done. i also think that it will really affect the relationship that he has or had with his wife becaus he was cheatting on her. but i most seartennly do not think that it will affect the way that people play or played golf befor.

I'm pretty sure that this will impact his career greatly. I personally think that people should let Tiger and his wife figure this out privately. They don't need media attention weighing on their shoulders.

    December 15, 2009 at 8:05 pm |
  144. amber

it will affect his career in my opinion because it will take a long time for people to see him as a golf player not a man who did the wrong thing in the past. and it seems that his sponsors are not waiting for him to play golf again. even though it will affect his career, i want to see him play golf on tv in the future.

    December 15, 2009 at 8:32 pm |
  145. Catherine

Wow i did not know that it would come down to this. First have you seen his kids. I think they need more time with there dad. That may be a good chance to see if the inherited his golfing skills. I am glad he is taking a break!:)

  146. Matt

If i was Tiger i would understand if if my wife left me. so far tiger has cheated on his wife with 11 women. He made a big mistake doing that and he should of thought about the example he made for his children before he cheated.

I don't think this will impact his career. This isn't the first time we knew he has lovers, but his fans still love him anyway.we respect not him but his skills, talent.so i think he can still be on the stage.

We all have already heard about what happened to Tiger. Instead of taking time to make the guy feel worse, we should be focusing more on things more important like the troops in Afghanistan.

    December 15, 2009 at 9:15 pm |
  150. Drew

Leave the guy alone! How come everybody has to jump on sumeone over personal matters.Tiger needs to be left alone and fix what happened without the media following his every move.He should a sorry note from the media and his sponsers from over reacting.

    December 15, 2009 at 9:19 pm |
  151. Moses

Who cares about Tiger Woods and his cheating scandal?! Why don't you cover real news instead like our troops in Afghanistan. Why is President Obama going to send more troops? Now that's real news.

    December 15, 2009 at 9:26 pm |
  152. Claire

I think the media is just too concerned about TIger, they should just leave him alone, because he need some privacy and some time to handle it. It does affect his career, but the golf will still go on as usual enen without him.

    December 15, 2009 at 11:05 pm |
  153. Trevor

I think that Tiger Woods is trying his best to make up for the affairs and that he should just get back to doin his own thing anfd do what he thinks is right. Other than that i don't care what he does.

    December 16, 2009 at 12:43 am |
  154. McRae

I'm pretty sure this is him retiring. I highly doubt he's even going to go back to golfing now, I'm not saying he's old, but he would have been retiring soonish anyway. Over 50% of people have already stopped watching golf, after this happened I think only half of those will come back if he does.

    December 16, 2009 at 1:41 am |
  155. McRae

This is completely different than your average affair. He has cheated on his wife with not only one or two women, but around 10 women. Some think that the media is blowing this up, yes most likely, but Tiger Woods is not your average man. He is a man that everyone looks up to and is the face of many companies. Everyone thought of him as a great guy who would never cheat, follows the law, etc. So it's a big deal when a man this 'perfect' (for lack of a better word) is found doing something so incredible.

    December 16, 2009 at 1:44 am |
  156. Ashlee

Honestly, the subject doesn't really concern to me. There are better things & more important things out there to talk about, but you guys chose to talk about Tiger Woods, seriously? You should focus more about things going on in Afghanistan, or Obama's plan for the health care bill, things like that. Instead you were about some guy & his career & love life.

    December 16, 2009 at 4:18 am |
  157. Yannick

As said previously, I believe it all depends on how well he gets his personal life sorted out. If his wife chooses to forgive him for his misconduct, he might return seemingly unaffected, possibly even more competitive than before! Still, taking too much time off could make it more difficult to make a successful comeback. Regarding the impact of this scandal on the sport of golf in general, I do not think there will be any; scandals involving well-known people are such a dime a dozen these days...

    December 16, 2009 at 6:24 am |
  158. Kevin

Tiger Woods had a whole world – fan, money, respect, and family. So, he thought he could do anything that general people couldn't imagine.

  159. agnes

The same thing happened here in my country too:A celebrity collapsed after some affairs. "Everyone will make a mistake", It's TRUE!But this is not gonna happen in those people in the screen.especially Tiger represents the role model in the GOLF and sports. What he did really disappoint his supporters . What a pity!

    December 16, 2009 at 9:03 am |
  160. AleX

I think we should all leave him be, so he did something wrong, big deal. No one in the world is perfect.

    December 16, 2009 at 9:59 am |
  161. David

I think golf will not be the same. If he dosnt come back, some poeple watch golf to see tiger woods, And thats their only reason. But relly, we should leave him alone.

    December 16, 2009 at 10:00 am |
  162. steph

i think its horrible. tiger woods did this to his life. of course this will make a huge deal in his carreer. what he did makes other people who look up to him and is theer role model will obviously be mad and terrified in so many ways and tiger woods did that to himself...i hope he is happy with his life.

    December 16, 2009 at 10:01 am |
  163. john

people are now going to look at him dif. no one else would want to marry him and his life will be full of stress. he wont be doing good at golf any more. also tiger woods might not be able to do any commersals and he will loose all 3 of his kids and some people would think hes a failure, he is good at golf but that desicion he made will ruin his career.

    December 16, 2009 at 10:01 am |
  164. Sean

Well, since Tiger Woods is "the best golfer ever" taking a hiatus might drop ratings of golf tordaments, but it will maybe give Phil Nickolson a chance to finally win.

    December 16, 2009 at 10:02 am |
  165. Mark

Tiger Woods woukd never be the same. His skills would probably never change and his winning would probably be the same, but the public would probably would eat him alive. Golf would be the same, but its champion would never be same

    December 16, 2009 at 10:02 am |
  166. Max

I think it will be horrible for Tiger Woods reputation but I don't really feel bad for him. I dont becauce he did that to himself.

  167. Lubin

I think that this event will impact Tiger Woods career. The game of golf would be affected. Maybe somepeople only watch and play golf to be like him. I think this is a major cause, and there will be a bad effect.

    December 16, 2009 at 10:04 am |
  168. Justin

I think that this will not impact his career. Look at michael vick he is back in the NFL and more fans are beginning to like him, and he is starting to get his reputaion back. This is why i think this will not affect Tiger's career.

    December 16, 2009 at 10:07 am |
  169. Chris

This will impact his career greatly. He won't have as many sponsors. I know that I wouldn't sponsor him. People might now make assumptions about all golf players based on him. Epic Fail for Tiger.

    December 16, 2009 at 10:07 am |
  170. Dylan

I don't think it will impact Tiger's career because if you think about Kobe Bryant. He had a bad situation and he made everyone forget about it by playing harder. That is why i don't think it will impact his career. I also don't think his mistake will impact golf as a sport because in baseball a lot of people take steroids, but fans don't stop watching baseball or their favorite team because of one player. That is why I dont think it will impact his career or golf as a sport.

    December 16, 2009 at 10:08 am |
  171. billy

I think it will impact his carreer because many people only watch golf because of him. He is a role model to many kids and people all over America. It was tigers fault of what he did and he cant change it. It also takes time off of golf so he wont be as great as he was before. I dont think it will have a big impact in golf in general because it wasnt golf that did it, but ticket sales will go down.

    December 16, 2009 at 10:08 am |
  172. greg

i think that it is his own fault that he cheated on his wife and it will effect his carrer in golf.if he did not cheat he would still be know as a good person. it will impact his career because he could not get some sponcers to make him more famous than the other golfers that go into the PGA tour of other tours.this could also effect him because his wife might leave him for a better life and she might not like the presure thet is on her.also if he freaks out on the course because his wife left him.

    December 16, 2009 at 10:09 am |
  173. matthew

This will make a giant impact on career because already buisnesses are letting him go and he isn't going to play for a while. Tiger has had a lot of problems lately that he might not even be able to face.

    December 16, 2009 at 10:09 am |
  174. courtney(:

I think Tiger Woods made a horrible decision and it will definately impact his career. People will now consider Tiger Woods as a failure, cheater, and people will not respect his as much. What he has done will obviously affect his family and career. Also, he will loose many of his fans who enjoy him playing golf because they will now think of his actions with women. He should really think about what he has done and be disappointed and upset. Since he might quit golf now, he is in DANGER with his life!

    December 16, 2009 at 10:10 am |
  175. TOM

i think that he is wrong and is a bad example for his kids and viewers! he was very wrong and should be ashamed of his self> he made thet dicison and will regret it in his golfing life! it will impact his creear.

If tiger is truly trying to work through this and become a better father and husband, it is a very good idea for him to take a leave. right now, his priorities are to his family first, not his fans or the public. if he can redeem himself and work through this with his family, i think his career could be even better because of the fact that he overcame this adversity in his life.

Tigers Wood is amazing. I don't understand the problem. He creates a wonderful spark in the sport of golf and it will remain that way. This is simply a subject for the media to feed on.

    December 16, 2009 at 1:24 pm |
  191. Matthew

Personally, im getting tired of hearing about Tiger Woods. Yes, he cheated on his wife etc. But it's getting to the point where its getting annoying. Other women are comming out and saying that they were in a relationship with him, and he did all this bad stuff etc. Its to the point where the media should just let this go.

Ovcourse it will. He's the worlds best at what he does, but at the end of the day he's still human. Tigers fame will be he's down fall here

    December 16, 2009 at 1:25 pm |
  193. Danny

Tiger's leave of absence will definately impact his career and the sport because of him losing sponsors and the sport probably losing half of its viewers, but it is the right thing to do and hopefully it will allow him to get his life back on track.

    December 16, 2009 at 1:25 pm |
  194. Tevin

I think that the sponcers wont drop him at all and if they do they are going to regret it, he makes them alot of money and like they said sence he hasnt been on the tour the amount of people watching the PGA tour has gone down 50%, i think that they would be beggin him to come back.

I think Tiger Woods is doing the right thing and something that is really hard for a lot of people to do. Family should always come first and he's setting a good example by choosing to focus on his family and acknowledging that they deserve all his attention for a while.

    December 16, 2009 at 1:29 pm |
  197. Anthony

Wood's Career is affected by this decision. He will have to replace the sponsors that dropped him, and respecting fans may not be able to view him the same. The sport of golf may be affected too, the pro golf players may get labeled as primiscuous and such because of Tiger's lack of loyalty.

    December 16, 2009 at 1:29 pm |
  198. colin

I think that what tiger did was wrong, but i dont think he needs to be bugged about his own personal life, the media should just leave him alone, let him and his famliy work it out. he will probley lose a good chunk of his sponsers so it will change the game of golf .

    December 16, 2009 at 1:31 pm |
  199. Sydney

He is an awesome golfer I must admit, but if he is going to be unfaithful then he is going to lose the support of everybody that enjoy watching him play the game of golf.... I personally know a person who really enjoys watching him play, and even has a bathroom all about golf and tiger woods!! Now he doen't even watch t.v. He doesn't watch golf anymore because he is ashamed of being a Tiger Woods fan... This "little" problem thats going on is going to effect him. I think he has learned his lesson and it was very nice and mature of him to take a break from golf to spend time with his family. 😛 🙂 😀

    December 16, 2009 at 1:39 pm |
  200. Nicole

I personaly think that they should leave this whole Tiger Woods thing alone. Sure it is going to scew up his career. But that is his own decision ( with his own life). So what if he is a perfessional golfer, he is no different than any of us people. He diserves his own privacy.

I think that the new revelations about Tiger Woods will hurt his career

    December 16, 2009 at 2:47 pm |
  202. Jimmy

I think it will. A lot of people looked up to him and now they won't. Plus, he will lose some sponers like EA And Nike.

    December 16, 2009 at 2:48 pm |
  203. Patrick

i think he still should be able to play because what happened has nothing to do with him playing golf.

    December 16, 2009 at 2:52 pm |

I think not because his wife would ror give him and it will mess up his career because he is going to get boooed if he plays

    December 16, 2009 at 2:57 pm |
  208. Eliana

I think it will impact his career because it is wrong to cheat on your wife and his wife is probloly really mad at him. It will impact in golf because good people will not have a good competiter to go against and Tiger Woods will not be able to continue golf.

Yes, I think yes because what he did is bad and his carear could get affected by that.I think that golf wouldn't get affected because he still could play any were he wants.

I think this will effect Tiger Woods carrer because. He had a lot of afairs.Golf is not a good sport because. It does not take a lot of work.

    December 16, 2009 at 3:17 pm |
  223. jason

Its only going to impact his career for a short time. And he didn't break the law, there is not in the law that says you can't cheat on someone. This will be like any other professional sports person. This happened with Jordan, Cobey, but hey they came out of alittle scared but back on track. with all the allocations people are making this happens all the time in sports but only the ones in the top spot light gets hit hard by the media. I would bet any amount of money he is not the only PGA tour player who has a mistress on the side, but he is tiger woods, and i bet the average person who is downing him can't named ten other players on the PGA tour.

    December 16, 2009 at 3:56 pm |

Yes, I think it will affect his career, and also the sport of golf in general.

    December 16, 2009 at 4:19 pm |

I beleive his career will have an impact as the media continues advertising with his wrong doing. I don't think the sport itself will have an impact. He is a golfer and he will always be a great golfer!

    December 16, 2009 at 4:46 pm |
  226. kordell

I think it should have an impact on Tigers golf and his passion. How could you golf with all that preassure i mean your fighting with your wife your in the news and the subject is not the graetest subject that you want in the news. You crash into a tree in a nice car on that night your in the car unconsious from hitting a tree. Then you come home and youre in trouble wit your wife. I have to give tiger credit if he ever golfs agsin, but man tiger BIG MASTAKE,BIG MISTAKE!!! COMON MAN

    December 16, 2009 at 6:17 pm |
  227. Brittany

I think that his publicity will make many of his sponsers not want to soonser him anymore. Many coorporations like NIKE and EA will not want to be part of him anymore. I think this is the right desicion because no one wants their children or other students to have that kind of influence. I think also many people wont want to play golf anymore because of who TIGER was. And i agree with them

    December 16, 2009 at 7:21 pm |
  228. Quintessia

Yes it will be a big deal on golf in general, because Tiger Woods is a big deal on golf in general so if he is his a big deal his actions will be too.

    December 16, 2009 at 8:42 pm |
  230. lucas

I think it will impact him seriously impact him because he will lose sponsors and not get as much money. It will impact golf because he was the hot shot and there is I can't imagine how many tiger fans are out there. And that may cause views.

    December 16, 2009 at 8:44 pm |
  231. Brock

It might hurt the sport in genera l to because Tiger Woods gives the UMH to golf. and so the great or amazing player "TIGER WOODS" might not play anymore and he was golf, like he was the only golfer that people watched.AND it will impact his career but it should only impact or hurt his relationship with his wife ,not his golf career.Yes he will probally lose his sponcers like EA,Nike, and Wheats but he shouldnt. I know he cheated but it should not hurt his golf career like i said.People look up to Tiger but i know for sure that people wont look up to him anymore.I mean why gett married if you like someone else. Remember this is my opinion not yours.

I think that Tiger is a horrible person and he should never go back to golf ever again. Now that tiger is gone golf is going to have an epic fail! It's not going to be an olympic sport any more because of Tigers actions. TV raitings are by my guess 10% and attendance down 20% because they all want to see Tiger win well thats not going to happen for a long time. Will he ever beat Jack Nickolus Record? we don't know but when or if he comes back he is not going to be at the top of his GAME!

    December 17, 2009 at 3:43 pm |

Of course it will impact his career, because he is so unloyal to his family. some fans will not support him any more.he will not get so many comercial AD.But I don't think It wil impact the whole golf sport.

I think that this cheating thing about Tiger and his wife is so dumb! Not being mean or anything but I think that this will impact on his career. Why is beacause Tiger is a pguy who likes to have fun and he should never be forgived! You cant change the future, so how can you change the past? If I was Tiger I would of never cheated on my wife, unless I never cared for her. In this case its the same thing. He even has children! If I had children than that is a bigger situation! Tiger's wife hates him and I don't blame her!

Tiger Woods Should have thought better due to the fact that he:

    1: Has a Child.

2: Has a personal relashionship with his wife.

He should of thought better. Seriously He's Inisant.

    December 18, 2009 at 7:50 pm |
  251. Morgan

I am dissapointed, lots of people looked up to tiger and he just let us down. I'm sure that because of this that many people are not going to be watching him play and his sponsers are going to not be interested in him selling their product.

    December 19, 2009 at 9:36 pm |
  252. Becca

i highly doubt that this will effect his career at all because he is still an amazing golfer, just not a smart or loyal one. his sponsers still want him as a client.

    December 20, 2009 at 10:55 pm |
  253. Emily

This well effect tiger always one way or another. Golf will never be the same for him or to anyone else. But he did this to himself. He was a good role model up till now and people will never look at him the same.

    December 21, 2009 at 12:07 pm |
  254. Soledad

we all know that he messed up...but it doesn't mean people should say bad things about him. we also all know that children and other people look up to him and its not very nice to point out his flaws becuse it hurts thoses peoples hopes and dreams. I don't think that anyone want someone to post someone eles flaws to the world.

I think tiger woods is messing up his career and his personal life he had so much stuff and he's giving it all up he had all those endorsements and now the companies are leaving him.I don't see why he would do that unless he has attention issues. He is such a jerk and i feel sorry that his wife has to live through this.

It's very unpleasant thing to hear-I mean the Wood's unfaithfulness-
But still, he is one of the best golfers of the world, and I think his nasty news won't influence on his skill. There is no difference to his golf skill.

I was very shoked and disapointed when I saw the articles. Because he was very famous of his none-scandal. everybody must be disapointed besides me.
But it's his PERSONAL and MORAL problem. It should not affect on his JOB permanantly .
However, if this kind of negatinve eyes, from society to Woods, are continued, his golf life will be ended and the popularity of the golf will be sharply dereased. It was his fatal mistake which impacted too many things. I hope that this kind of happenings will never occur again. . . .

  283. Katherine

I think that this whole Tiger Woods issue WILL affect his career. He did something he shouldn't have. But I guess you got to have a little sympathy for him because just like you and me, he's human. Many people probably have done the same thing. (Cheated on their wife) But still, It was really bad that he did such a thing. I do not think this will change golf.

I do think that his actions will effect his career. He's worked so hard for his positions and now after drama amungst people, he can't control the outcome. He can influence the decisions of others but that means he would actually have to talk and not be confined to himself like he's doing at this time. The more time he waits the bigger the effects in his career.

I think this will because he will lose sponsers, and fans, so he will not have as many people cheering him on, also, he will not have as much support that he needs to be a champion...

    January 9, 2010 at 3:52 pm |
  289. Paige

I do think it will impact his career but, it shouldn't. It isn't anybody's business but his and his families. People probably should just stay out of his life. We don't like it when other people are parading around talking about our lives, then why should we do the same with his?

    January 9, 2010 at 6:55 pm |
  290. Sean

There is no way people aren't going to notice this. He's lost many sponsers, might lose his kids to his wife, and might lose a lot of many. He's a liar and a cheater and i think he deserves this suffering.

    January 9, 2010 at 7:44 pm |
  291. Laura

I do think his actions will affect his career majorly, mostly because he is putting aside golf for awhile to work on his family issues. It probably won't change golf at all, but he will be remembered as the guy in golf who had an affair with many girls.

    January 10, 2010 at 4:23 pm |
  292. brynn

I think this will definatley impact his career. Maybe not his overall golf preformance, but it'll change the way people see him. I know I have lost a lot of respect for him, and I imagine others have too. I don't hink it'll have much impact on golf in general, excapt maybe for those who don't know much about golf or follow the sport and hear about what Tiger did and might stereotype all golfers as they do Tiger.

    January 10, 2010 at 8:16 pm |
  293. Miguel

yes i think this will effect his career and the sport of golf will be greatly effected by this.

    January 10, 2010 at 8:50 pm |
  294. Katie

Yes I think this will affect his career because I think a lot of people are losing respect for this golf icon. I think he did it to himself. I think it will affect the sport too because Tiger is very popular and has a lot of fans, but since he's losing a lot, I believe golf will lose a very large amount of their viewers.

It makes me very sad to hear what Tiger Woods did. I never expected anything like that to happen. I definetly think this will impact his career. I hope he can stay strong and keep moving forward with his life. The sport of golf is and has definetly changed. I once heard that when Tiger Wood's is playing golf, 40% more viewers tune in to watch him. So now that he is taking a little break, the golf channel is going to loose many viewers, which is not good for them. I hope everything will work itself out.

i think people should just leave him alone...stuff like this happens a lot we just don't see it often with celebrity's.i dont see any reason why it should affect his career......he's just as good at golf as before, he just made a bad mistake.

I think that it will impact his golf and his indorsmants alot. He will lose indorsmants and he will lose fans for what he has done. He will probly be kicked out of being pro or atlest moved down a little in the ranks or somthing like that.
