Your Questions about Health Care

Posted: 09:28 PM ET

"What about my insurance?"  "What about a growing government?"  "What if health care reform doesn't actually do what it's intended to do?"  These are some of the questions Americans are asking about the health care issue, and you hear them explained on Thursday's show.  What we'd like to find out is what questions you have about health care - whether it's how the system works, what reform means, etc.  What are your questions about this top story?

How will it impact our lives in the future? and How much will it cost for us?

sarah   October 15th, 2009 8:07 am ET

i think we dont need this if we are happy with what we have right now.

sarah   October 15th, 2009 8:10 am ET

i think the goverment is going to far!!! we already are to far in dept!! i think if we are happy with the health care that we got we should be able to keep that!!!!!

sarah   October 15th, 2009 8:11 am ET

Do we just need to forget about it and just let the government and presedent tend to fixing the problems? i think that we need to worry about what the goverment is doing because our parents are the ones who have to pay the taxes.

Rachel   October 15th, 2009 8:12 am ET

I think that its not the best idea, it could turn out good or bad, but whatever happends, we really just have to live with what we've got!!! (hey u used the #1 most annoying phrase! haha!)

sarah   October 15th, 2009 8:13 am ET

They need to slow down and handle one problem at a time.

tristen   October 15th, 2009 8:15 am ET

health care is too much rite now

sarah   October 15th, 2009 8:16 am ET

they need to slow down

Bridgette   October 15th, 2009 8:52 am ET

I think every single person in the United States of America should have health care becuase if you get hurt, you wont have insurance to cover your accident. :(

Ashley   October 15th, 2009 9:07 am ET

My question is what is going to happen to the people that do not have any health care right now? IF they change it what is going to happen with the people that don't have it is that going to change?

Deanna   October 15th, 2009 9:17 am ET

I want to know why the system for healthcare has been neglected for so long? What about the people that really need the benefits don't get them? Do you think that obama is going to actually make an changes in our healthcare beneifits?

Brendan   October 15th, 2009 9:36 am ET

I know plenty about health-care. I would be enraged to see it get socialized. It maybe the beginning of the end of democracy here in the U.S.A. I think its unfair to other companies because unlike the government they cant print money. Also with all the trillions of dollars of debt were in, i'd think i rather see Obama and Congress focus on paying that debt off. The healthcare system is broken. I'll admit that. I think the government should fix it with a bill of requirements and rights for the provider and the buyer and provide health-care to those who can't afford it instead of those who choose not buy it and waste there money on tv's car's and houses they can't afford, instead of having the government starting there own healthcare "company."

Amy   October 15th, 2009 10:47 am ET

I don't believe we should have to pay more for health insurance. We already pay so much for taxes. Im fine with my health care and I dont want it to increase.

howard   October 15th, 2009 10:48 am ET

the heath care should stay the same and they should not change the way it is

derek   October 15th, 2009 10:48 am ET

my gandmama is fine so do what u want

Taylor   October 15th, 2009 10:49 am ET

I think health insurance is really important to have but people who can effort it shouldnt have to pay for the people who cant. It is just not fair.

Lane   October 15th, 2009 10:55 am ET

Well the world is in a slump, so someones going have to fix it and heath care won't do that

kris   October 15th, 2009 10:56 am ET

how much money does it cost to buy health insurance?

kaden   October 15th, 2009 10:57 am ET

health care is something good everybody should have it were making it more complicated then it already is

sasha   October 15th, 2009 10:58 am ET

Will it improve?

ryan   October 15th, 2009 10:59 am ET

my questons are what will happen if cancer begins to spread?what will happen if a diesease starts to kill?

Abel   October 15th, 2009 11:01 am ET

Nothing is going to go bad just have faith and you'll be fine.

George   October 15th, 2009 11:03 am ET

What if the ecomony goes in to bankrupt? That will take out healthcare.

Frances   October 15th, 2009 11:03 am ET

will the prices ever get higher than they are now?

matt   October 15th, 2009 11:07 am ET

I have a lot of questions, but one is what is health care all about. Also why is it so important to people?

JOEY   October 15th, 2009 11:09 am ET

i hate this it wont even improve if a exican eligle immigrant gets his leg chopped off he could die and if you don't let him have healthcare then what?

Ryan   October 15th, 2009 11:11 am ET

It was fine. The health thing is annoying

Ayinde'   October 15th, 2009 11:30 am ET

What if America can't afford the payments plans for health care reform and is it avalaible for everyone at any age?

jabrea   October 15th, 2009 11:31 am ET

What if some of us didn't have insurance for ourselves and it did not do what it had to do for us and our health issues.

Coretta   October 15th, 2009 11:31 am ET

The question that I am worring about is that are you going to let the senior citizens get free health care? Well, I think that you should let the senior citizens have free haelth care, because they can't take care of their selfs. Now if something go wrong what is going to happened?

Nyelia   October 15th, 2009 11:32 am ET

What happens when only 75 percent of people have health care and the other 25 percent of people don't. What are we going to do?

Kapria   October 15th, 2009 11:32 am ET

Why should the healthcare be reformed .What if people are satisfied. Why doesent the goverment just want to give put health care to people with no health care at all.b eacuse if everyone has to cange threr health to me that means that everybody would have healthcare that isnt the best we probably get unreliable health care. its unfair .

jabrea   October 15th, 2009 11:33 am ET

Maybe We Should All Come Up With Something To Help Everyone Out There. hen, Maybe Our Country Would Be At Peace Again. for A While.

Tiyanna   October 15th, 2009 11:33 am ET

Why can't health care companies just lower their prices so familes with low imcome are able to aford it. It just doesn't make sence to me why health care is so high and we are going through a ression. People are getting laid off and they have no way to pay for health care. Health care companies LOWER YOUR PRICES!!

Brian   October 15th, 2009 11:34 am ET

health care has been on a decline for people for a while, it is good to see someone try to change it for the better of people of the country instead of the people who have the money to get the health care.

JAMES   October 15th, 2009 12:12 pm ET

I really care because my little brother is uncoverable under the current plan I hope it passes threw congress!

Sabastion   October 15th, 2009 1:05 pm ET

if they think it wont turn out of what it is suppose to be then why are they doing it still I meant its dum if they know its might not work

Elina   October 15th, 2009 1:47 pm ET

I think that health care change is stupid and it should probably stay the same.

Chirag   October 15th, 2009 1:56 pm ET

What if we don't want a health care to change?
What if you might lose your doctor according to the health care plan?
What if we disagree with a health care plan?
Can we some how write a letter to the president if we disagree on his health care reform? What happens if the goverment goes like off their horses what do we do about it because we might lose our insurance and not be able to pay for when we get hurt and then the goverment won't reinsure us?

Lauren   October 15th, 2009 1:58 pm ET

How does the system make people cure what the problem they have about thier personal heath that is going wrong, for example if they have cancer,if there is something wrong in thier stomach, or anything other wrong close to something like that. Why is all of that a big deal?

Stacy   October 15th, 2009 2:01 pm ET

What does health care mean?? I don't really get it

Elina   October 15th, 2009 2:01 pm ET

Why is heath care in the news because not much is diffrent with either of the exept swine flu.

lauryn   October 15th, 2009 2:04 pm ET

how come helthcare is on their now what does that have to do with anything i don't anderstand

Katherine   October 15th, 2009 2:17 pm ET

It's okay but some people are right the people who already have health care shouldn't have to change. but it's not fair to keep the people who need it from it.

Jared   October 15th, 2009 2:19 pm ET

What if your health care didn't intend what it was ganna do.

Big Z   October 15th, 2009 3:13 pm ET

Health care is fine. We don't need to tinker with anything as is.

Dreyiss   October 15th, 2009 3:16 pm ET

What well it do for me

mathew   October 15th, 2009 3:17 pm ET

what is congress doing?!?!

Todd   October 15th, 2009 3:18 pm ET

Heres a good question America. Given our increased job loss and families becoming poverty-stricken, why don't you catch a few tips from Europe, were they have FREE HEALTH CARE. To much to pay for? Tax the rich, and stop having C.E.O's getting paid crazy amounts.

kevin...   October 15th, 2009 3:18 pm ET

it really should stay like it is as long as everybody is all good with how its going i could see if nobody liked it but everybody is ok with it

Maurice   October 15th, 2009 3:20 pm ET

What will the health care reform do with the money? How is long is it going to take to see my doctor? Will the government use the money to try to help the economy? Will they use a percentage for things like the war, the the international Space Station?I just want to know if the money we'll have to pay will be used in our interests.

nancy   October 15th, 2009 5:20 pm ET

i think its STUPID to spend money like that rite now. we are already in debt. why go farther.i think its really stupid

isaiah   October 15th, 2009 5:55 pm ET

i think healtcare is to much.If this passes then it will bring up the cost of insurence

Chase   October 15th, 2009 7:05 pm ET

My question is, what would happen if there was no health care at ALL!? What would we do if we were sick and there was no health care? What were focusing on is the debate! Sheesh! Right now there going a little to crazy about this health care thing, and H1N1. Just chill.

LJ   October 15th, 2009 7:54 pm ET

PEOPLE WORRY ABOUT HEALTH CARE FOR THEM NOT US KIDS WANT

LJ   October 15th, 2009 8:00 pm ET

i think we need a shorter week and a shorter day cause we might other school activities.we should vote for what we want if are parents were back in school they would not want a longer school time . lol (=

Claire   October 15th, 2009 8:13 pm ET

health care prices will just go up!! why would anyone vote for it?

SRA   October 15th, 2009 9:23 pm ET

If we use the health care, and dont like where its going, what are we going to do about it?

SRA   October 15th, 2009 9:24 pm ET

What are the goverment going to do if this goes downhill?

bj   October 15th, 2009 9:31 pm ET

i think healthcare already cost too much and that if it passes then alot of people will be in debt. =(

cameron   October 15th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

i think the shouldnt do it because it is sorely lacking and i want to see my doctor i cant be sick. one love

Jenny   October 16th, 2009 7:35 am ET

My major questions are:
1. How will it affect those who need insurance (ie don't have health coverage) as well as those who are already happy with their insurance plan
2. How much will it cost us
3. What happens if the bill fails?

As with all major reforms, I view the healthcare reform with great skepticism–but I do I have hope. It's really hard drafting a bill that will make everyone happy... but I do hope that a compromise will be reached; one thing that we can all agree on is that some kind of healthcare reform must be done.

Gavin   October 16th, 2009 8:26 am ET

Barack Obama's plans about health care I think are really going to help, including the bill that was recently passed. We have a ways to go . . . but we're getting there.

melea   October 16th, 2009 9:18 am ET

Why raise health care alot of us are already in debt so why raise it. I thought were trying to get out of recession if we raise it then were just going to be stuck in the hole even more. AND THATS NOT WHAT WE NEED.

jake   October 16th, 2009 9:27 am ET

I think health care is fine the way it is, were in debt already we don't need to be in even more debt thats just my opinion.

Jenna   October 16th, 2009 10:49 am ET

Is it worth the risk? :(

Hannah   October 16th, 2009 10:52 am ET

Im curious. Why are we spending huge amounts of money on health care? I also think its really unfair that the rich have all that money but they even share a little of it? Instead they spend on clothing and making their prettie? Its just not fair. The poor need more things now more then before.

ekaterina   October 16th, 2009 8:40 pm ET

obama should have it so we all have the same health care coverage.

casey   October 18th, 2009 4:02 pm ET

health car is okay because it helps out if you have to go to the hospital

Michael   October 22nd, 2009 9:57 am ET

Would this cost more or less than private insurance companies cost? Would we still get the same quality of health care?

SAW   October 22nd, 2009 12:48 pm ET

i think they should just get it over with and just make it easyer for tax payer to understand and find a way to deal with it.

SAW   October 22nd, 2009 12:55 pm ET

Is the health care thing a real important to tell kids to me it don't really mater to us we have no part in it so why tell us. You are just using are time to tell us something that dosn't make a difference but might scare others.

Ravi   October 22nd, 2009 8:56 pm ET

Every single human on the face of this Earth should have health insurance. No if ands or buts. It starts with America, everyone in America should also get health care. A few weeks ago, a healthy 2 year old child was denied health care because she happened to be too short for company regulations. This issue is certainly not a one size fits all routine and shouldn't be treated as such. The burden of this crisis will last until WE have kids, let alone this all happening while we ARE kids. So we have to do something quickly. America is in quicksand, and if we do not pick our moves correctly, it will sink and we would have regretted NOT making a decision wisely. This is what I believe on health care.

Jedd   October 24th, 2009 2:17 pm ET

Why can't President Barak Obama just order health care companies to lower their prices and give people health care? After all, he is the President.

Brandon   October 27th, 2009 6:40 pm ET

Everyone talks about health care and complains about Obama not doing anything, so instead of giving people a hard time about not doing anything, maybe you should get out and try to do something yourself.

Claire   October 29th, 2009 8:56 am ET

First I want to know what the
health care plan WILL do.How much do the American citizens have to pay?is this just a plan where the government is saying we will help, but you better pay. Everyone in America should have the freedom to be able to go to a docter when they get sick.

Joshua   October 29th, 2009 9:18 am ET

My question about health care is that why can our country afford it? Either way were in a bad situation. If we give health care to everyone taxes would go sky rocketing. If we don't more people would die every year. Our country may not ever be able to afford this.

Dave   October 29th, 2009 4:43 pm ET

I would like to know how "free" health care doesn't lead to rationing. Anyone that would recieve the free care has no skin in the game, (they probably don't pay taxes) and therefore have nothing to lose by supporting this bill. And because it is actually free for these people, they will take advantage of it and fill our hospitals and emergency rooms with cases that could most likely be taken care of at home. For example, why would I go to Walgreens and pay $5 for an asprin when I can go to the hospital and get one for free, or rather have the taxpayers foot the $25 that the hospital charges for a single asprin.

Julia   October 30th, 2009 1:46 pm ET

how much will it cost for insurance? is it worth the risk with all of this?

michael   October 30th, 2009 5:33 pm ET

How can the government tax us for the health care.

Gianni   November 2nd, 2009 11:15 am ET

why don't we make our health care more affordable

Daniel   November 3rd, 2009 7:48 pm ET

if most people have already said they don't want healthcare reform than all were doing is wasting tax payers money that they don't have

Daniel   November 3rd, 2009 7:52 pm ET

why waste tax payers money when you don't have to and the use the money you don't have or need to spend on something better like

matt   November 4th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

i would give the dimand ring back

Sylas   November 12th, 2009 1:58 pm ET

I Believe a Hero is someone brave, that fights' for there people, and defends them if needed. and not afraid to stand for what they believe in.

india   November 16th, 2009 3:12 pm ET

I think that the school should let loose. They should let loose because it is just a haircut and no one can stop you from getting a haircut, it's your body and you should be able to do what ever you want within a reason.
